Great fit, great quality, and very easy. it took me a long time to decide to pull the trigger on my first purchase, but I'm very happy I did. Everything I've gotten from them--from suits to shirts--is razor sharp. The try-on process is of course the first point where you might be skeptical, but it works. You give them a couple details through their site (very little actually--height, weight, and how clothing usually fits or doesn't fit you), and they send try-on garments that already fit way better than you would expect (and that you can keep). Send them iPhone photos of how the try-on's fit, and several weeks later, you get the suit. There may be one add'l round of alterations, but then they have your measurements and you can order at will. Dan and team are eager and helpful over email to help you decide what you want, and go through any concerns. So if you're trying to figure out what combo of suits will work well together, or what kind of lapel is better for a particular fabric, they are happy to help, and are drawing on a lot of knowledge.

My boyfriend needed a serious upgrade from his first post-college suit for some weddings this summer, and just because every guy needs at least one truly well-fitting suit. After looking at lots of the other online custom, we went with Articles of Style because it looked they applied human expertise in their fitting process and their made in America craftsmanship. All I can really say is, we definitely made the right call. First a set of custom try-ons arrived and all we had to do was submit a few pictures of my boyfriend in the fitting garments and notes he had about the fit. Just as we hoped, we actually had a back and forth with a real tailor from Articles and when his final suit arrived a few weeks later they had nailed everything! I don't know much about suiting but the his new suit is night and day better than whatever he was wearing before. It was really impressive to see the Articles of Style team clean up everything from the fitting garments and create a beautiful final garment at the first pass. He was catching all sorts of comments (and looks!) at the wedding circuit and he's been getting serious wear out of it since then. I'm looking forward to seeing him in it for years to come!

Getting the suit from the Articles of Style was arguably, the smoothest custom-clothing experience I had online. It is also one of the very few businesses of this kind that can effectively operate worldwide – I, for one, ordered my suit to Russia. True blessing for those who don't have (or, like me, are unable to find) a high-quality tailor in the area. Fitting process, albeit not entirely clear to me at first, worked flawlessly. I filled my profile, described my style and off we went. Soon enough the try-on garment arrived: finished pants, finished vest and a basted (unfinished jacket). This was when the scepticism started to fade away. I am still wearing the trousers from this test garment to this very day - it's a nice charcoal grey pair of pants, as versatile a piece as it gets. Then I uploaded the photos, described the aspects that I wanted to adjust and within a month or so I got my suit. Later I learnt that the team actually looks individually at each photo you send, analyze your feedback and make bespoke adjustments to the final garment. A combination of collected big data on various body types and experience of AoS team can work miracles. Spoiler: no miracles here. Just the constant strive to understand and see to the customer needs plus keen sense of style on part of the AoS team multiplied by the Old World's meticulous craftsmanship of their manufacturers. More on that sense of style: Daniel, Westley and William readily lent me their expertise, advising on specific fabrics and styles that they have. And that's also something that you don't get in other places: you get great clothes to wear and advice on how to wear and pair it. I confess, before I commissioned a suit questions haunted me. Whether a particular piece is versatile enough to function as a staple item, whether it would work with other shirts, pants and jackets in my wardrobe, whether it would be appropriate to wear in a business environment, whether it would distinguish me from the competition without making me look too flashy. The crew was there for me to patiently answer all these questions. Granted, getting the fit right on your first suit can take some time and international delivery is admittedly more prone to delays than a regular one. But once you do dial in your fit (by the way, AoS compensated me all the tailoring adjustments on the final garment) your next perfectly-fitting suits are just a click away. Amongst the many suits I own my AOS suit stands alone, not only in the fit but also the unique options. Just try finding self-backed vests or side adjusters anywhere and you'll know what I mean. This all pales in comparison to the level of service however, and the guys at AOS went far above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my purchase. I've found my go-to for custom clothing, no need to look anywhere else.

I was nervous as hell ordering a suit online but I'm so glad I did - the end product is nothing short of amazing and I've since been back to Articles of Style to order a coat, two pairs of trousers, and another suit. Their fitting service is quite incredible - from a half made try on suit (the trousers of which are finished and you get to keep for free) and a few photos they made me a suit that fits like a glove. Like, I honestly feel like all my other clothes DON'T fit me now. On this alone I decided I could never return to off the rack suits, particularly when you weigh up the capital involved. A semi-decent (and that's being generous) off the rack suit that gets hammered out in a chinese sweatshop fetches about $700 here in Australia, when for a fraction more you can get something handmade in America by experienced tailors with all the traditional details you'd expect in a suit. They even make it with extra fabric so you can let it out if you get a bit fatter as you grow older. For value it's a no brainer. Their selection of fabrics is also like nothing else you'd find in your typical store - as well as the usual suspects like navy and charcoal they have a great eye for cool, unusual cloths that are still manly and classic. I've got a burgundy brown cocktail suit that has garnered compliments from the day it arrived that I've never seen anything close to in any other store. Finally, the customer service is second to none - It becomes obvious very quickly that they make a real effort to get to know their clients, and without going into detail with my first suit they really went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with it. They're always great to talk to and ready to offer advice, and It makes ordering the suits not just easy, but a real pleasure. Can't recommend these guys enough, like I said they've earned a customer for life in me - I'm already eyeing off a few fabrics for my third suit. Had a great experience with Articles Of Style. The fitting process was super-smooth, and the results were really great. The fabrics are beautiful, the workmanship is top-notch, and the fit of my suit is the best I've ever had (better than the custom work I've had done by tailors in the past). The AoS guys just seem to have a genius eye for how a suit should hang, and how best to adjust the fit to the idiosyncrasies of my body type. I finally have a suit that I am proud to wear!
