This spa has potential to be really great. Unfortunately they fall short, and maybe it's management. I made my appointment and was told to arrive 15 minutes early. I arrived 1045 to start at 11. They couldn't find me when i checked in bc they booked multiple people with the same name. When i was being shown the locker, the woman asked my start time, (she should already know this since she checked me in). I said 11, she seemed shocked, but she said ok, use the sauna if you want, directed me to the waiting area, and instructed me to be mindful of the time. Since i was told my appointment is at 11, i just went straight to the waiting area. 1115 i went to the check in area to make sure everything is ok, they said I'm suppose to start at 1130. That's irritating bc i rushed to get ready and sat waiting & wondering and i could have used the sauna. They responded saying they never start at 1100, so i asked then why when i said i start at 11 did no body look into things further.
Massage was the OTS signature 90 min with reflexology and scalp massage. The description says deep tissue with stretching. It should say Swedish massage and no stretching. I asked 3 times to go firmer, but i guess she didn't understand. The reflexology was also like a light tickle.
The facial was the biolift with kundalini spinal rub.... they should get rid of the kundalini part but she afraid to touch me. She didn't know how to do a facial. I did not get exfoliated. You should not go from my oily rubbed chest to face. It's face to neck and don't go back on my face. Each cream or substance she put on my face was rubbed for 10 seconds than removed. Again from my chest to my face. She also didn't go near my upper lip area or whole nose with anything. My extractions were 1 min long, so that's that. She rubbed a wax massage cream in my face, perfect for my black heads. She also kept drinking her water during my facial which was weird.
The environment smells great but all the workers are wearing their personal everyday sneakers or shoes and they don't look clean, and other ppl are coming to get treatments in street clothes, sprawling their coats and handbags in the seats we sit in with robes. Normally spas keep the area like a sanctuary.
It seemed like the people working might not be fully trained in the techniques offered or they are not familiar with the description of their massages. Either way, each person performed their task with the lightest touch.
For my peppermint pedicure i think they were running low in the mask, she barely applied any. She was also afraid I'd break if touch me too hard for my foot massage.
I was hoping to feel refreshed and have muscle relief instead i feel like i need to shower and repeat a facial next week. My roller ball gives a better massage.
If you're coming for a spa day, bring some fruit, they only have trail mix and tea. Its a communal bowl with Chinese soup spoons used to get the nuts out, but everyone puts their own spoons back on top of clean spoons. I spent over 500$ at this establishment. It would have been nice to feel like i was important, but from the moment i called to make my appointment they could care less. They also could care less how i felt leaving since they didn't ask how everything was. It's obviously a local place, has its regulars and isn't interested in making new customers feel the need to return. Which is fine, bc there's also more spas.
