People are far more likely to write a review if they've got something negative to say. Most auto shops don't want to deal with your whiny bs and just tolerate it. Ordered an ECU from these guys and had no problem getting it to Canada fast, called up a few months later wondering on the invoice (forgot what it was for) and they were happy to help. They're busy, don't act so entitled over a cheap used part that won't help pay their rent. Probably should be buying it new if it's that important anyway.

I tried to look up a part on the website and of course it didn't work. Then a phone call with no answer and no response. Finally an email and several days later a quote. $95 for striker bolts, hinges, and latch for a tailgate. Amazon sells the same parts with free shipping for $85. Used parts with lousy service for $95, or new parts with warranty and backed my amazons customer service for $85...hmmmmm...let me think about this one.

I called gundies looking for a motor for my duramax Diesel I spoke with a sales man by the name of Dion I found a motor with low miles I was very interested in they informed me the motor had a 101 day warranty and that everything they sell was in very good condition so I said great I bought the engine over the phone paid this company 4 thousand dollars . They said it would be ready by 11 am next day for pickup. I called at 11 the fallowing day and they said it wouldn't be ready for a couple.more hours. So I decided to drive up anyway I didn't understand how hard it is to forklift an engine sitting in storage could be . I get there the engine is sitting outside and I asked is this my engine one of there employees said yes thanks it I couldn't believe my eyes the motor lokkedike it had been sitting at the bottom of the ocean for 30. Years let me remind you this is a 2003. Gmc duramax Diesel engine . I said doesn't look to hot and the employee said oh I haven't had time to wash it yet. Also th timing cover was off,it was leaking oil out of every gasket on the engine everything was completely covered in rust . I said we'll sorry bit this engine isn't going in my truck is there another. Took me inside and handed me a phone to talk with Dion the man who sold me this engine. He said we'll what's wrong with it. So I explained, he said we'll it shouldn't look like that and I agreed . So they had another I went and looked at that was a lot more suitable I said OK I'll take this the price was 300. Dollars less because of it having 20 thousand more miles so I go back inside and once again get handed a phone Dion OK so everything's ready I said we'll no first off it doesn't have a turbo or accessories like the other engine he said we'll this one doesn't come with it. I said we'll the first motor you sold.me was junk and a turbo was included after they just got done telling me the price difference was for the miles. So he finally said he would credit my account after 10. Minutes of haggling take it home install into my truck great engine. Well the turbo they sold.me wasn't I call Dion he says bring it in after you take it off and I'll give your money back as long as you show me proof you bought a new one. I said we'll first off it's non of your business what s new one costs me I have a 101 day warranty he says agreed . month later no credit. Call Dion 5 times voicemail at after every call nothing so I call and ask to talk with the GM he personally hands Dion the phone Dion was absolutely avoiding my calls and said oh Idk why your money's not back in it can take awhile. No not a month man give me a break. So I drive up to the shop give them there turbo explain that I want my money for the price difference in engines the turbo was bad. So they call me a liar tell.me that's not there turbo even though it has there stamps and p/n written on it in giant yellow paint. And my money still has yet to be returned. I won't stress enough what a joke this company is, and I wouldn't do business with them if they were the last wrecking yard in the world. Very unprofessional,unorganized,rude,lazy,...

I just called and spoke with the most rude and condescending person I have ever dealt with in the service industry. I asked if they had front suspension from a Crown Victoria. The guy that answered the phone asked what year I was looking for and I responded that it really didn't matter. When he said "that doesn't help" I mentioned it could be 2006 or newer. Before I could relay why it didn't matter, he cut me off and proceeded to mock me by using an analogy of buying a shoe that didn't need to be a specific size or color. Shocked by this display, I didn't have a response in the moment and the employee said that he was going to transfer me to another person that had more patience...Extremely unprofessional! When the person he transferred me to didn't answer I called back to clarify my needs. After telling him that I was trying to find a front suspension to install in my F-100, and I was sure most years of suspension from 2002 to 2011 should work, he could do no less than fire back that he hears that from everybody. Clearly disappointed that I was just looking for professional feedback and rough pricing; he finally settled on pricing for a 2003 to 2005 K-member including coils, buckets and arms. After clarifying that the rest of the parts are stripped off and sold as cores as soon as the vehicle comes in. When it's all said and done I was vague because I don't have a specific product in mind at this point in my restoration process, but I am looking for a place that has quality parts and some professional assistance. After my conversation today I can assure you that Gundie's will not be that place for me!

Really unpleasant to deal with. They mocked me on the phone and then hung up. I believe the person I spoke to was Clay or Craig. Their online postings are inaccurate and misleading. They quoted me a price 2.5 times what a nearby competitor charges.

Ordered a part over the phone. The salesman said they had to ship it from another location and that it would be there between 8:30-9:00. My vehicle was out of commission without the part and I wasn't going to pay $600 at a dealership (the only other place I could have gotten it.) I arrived at 9:30 (they are over an hour away from me) and they had no record of my order. They asked all the salesmen and nobody knew about it. One of the guys was able to finally find my order and directed me to the salesman (who had just said he didn't know the order.) Turns out the part wasn't going to make it so they decided to pull it from that location. Why didn't they just do that in the first place so I could have picked it up the day before??? They told me to come back in 30 minutes and the part would be ready. Came back 40 minutes later and they had pulled the WRONG PART. I had confirmed the part two or three times when I was ordering it, and before they pulled it that day. Had to wait another 30 minutes while they pulled the right part. The salesman first said that I didn't order the right part and then said a couple minutes later that it was his error. Use this place as a last resort, they might have a lot of parts but they seem really incompetent to me. I'm rating it 2 stars instead of 1 because they did finally have the part after a lot of unnecessary frustration.

I've lived here for 9 years. They have never had any part for my vehicles. I've had a 2005 Dodge truck, 1998 GMC truck, 2000 Subaru Outback wagon, and now a 1989 Isuzu Trooper. I don't know how these guys are still in business. All other states I've lived in have had quality salvage yards. Don't waist your time. Go to Larry's in Mt. Vernon. Update 12 years now. Still don’t have parts.

Was told I am getting seats for my Cadillac from a car with all doors intact. Got to the yard and my seats were soaked wet with mold starting to grow. All they said was "oh, sorry". Marty salesman not very honest or helpful.

Big shout out to Mike Bell at Gundies! I bought a rebuildable truck from them and they were fantastic to work with. Being that this was a wrecked vehicle, I was of course hesitant about purchasing it. Mike was adamant about me being comfortable and wasn't pushy or rude at all. I bought it and they delivered the truck to my house at no charge. Thanks guys!

STAY AWAY FROM GUNDIES!! POOR PARTS SERVICE AND BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I was very surprised to be treated as rudley as I was by a man named Don at Gundies. I gave them the information about what i needed and when it wasnt the right part, this Don fellow acted like it was my mistake and became extremely condescending. There is no recourse for me but to warn others of the poor customer service this business gives it's customer. I WOULD RATHER PAY MORE AND NOT DO BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY THAT TREATS ITS CUSTOMERS POORLY

I have purchased several used engines with no problems for my shop. I call "Greg" looking for an overflow tank for a car today and he is trying to sell me a tank for almost 50% more than a new one, telling me it has a pump in it even though there are no wires going to it, when I pointed that out he hung up on me, I called right back and got him in the phone and said " are you the one who hung up on me? " He immediately put my call on hold and then transferred me to a phone that only continued to ring on and on. No problem Gundies, there are plenty of junk yards around. No more business from me or anyone I can talk out of going to you. Had to give one star because zero stars is not an option. STAY AWAY

First impression when I called was that the guy hung up on me while trying to make an order. Being the patient person that I am, I called back anyways, made a prepayment on an axle, and Clay said it'd be there in 2 days. 5 days later, I got no follow up, so I call back again. I get hung up on after "let me check". I call back YET AGAIN to get told that the order apparently never got processed and that he'd call back to update me. Obviously he never calls back. I get fed up and finally drive over there for a refund only to be told that "both the axles we had were bad and the card never got charged". Don't bother with this place.

I will answer this regarding Gundies hours of business since Google doesn't list it. Their hours are Monday through Friday at 8am to 5pm. I've damaged my 2001 Saturn SL2, the airbags deployed. I bought the used airbags from them, which $125 per bag is pretty cheap compared to getting new ones. Despite miscommunications, part of it is my error because I didn't give enough information. I realize that later on in discussions. To be honest, it comes down to who you're talking to. I wish I could remember who I spoke to. When you go in, on the right are the offices and the first cubicle on the left is the guy I ordered the bags from. I think his name was Dan. I was surprised that they didn't have the parts in their yard, but could order the parts inside. Later, I asked about resetting or buying an airbag module, which they aren't able to do either for legal reasons. I plan to order the rest of the repair parts from them.

You would think this place is run by the competition. Ive never seen a place work so hard to not get my business. I called several times to see of they would scrap out my Subaru. The guy on the phone was rude and arrogant, he told me to email purchasing. I emailed purchasing and got no response so I called back to have him transfer my call to purchasing, he said the purchasing guy is gone and to just email him. When I told him I already did he said tough luck. At one point he even said purchasing doesn't even have an email. Do yourself a favor don't deal with these people.

Because of my lack of mechanical skill, my order took some extra time. The staff was very busy helping other customers and my lack of decision making must have been a frustration to them. However a personal visit and conversation with Dan V. was an entirely different story! Very bad employees I have never met such a people in my life. I purchased 81 k hybrid inverter system . When I went there to get my purchased . I did not get the right inverter . The y gave me one with 111 k . So the deference was more than 31 k with same price . Their employees were very rude . We 'be been asked to leave the place . Those people need a real anger management therapy.

One of the better wrecking yards catered to professional shops. The parts are expensive, but you don't get the run around, or end up with parts shipped to you that are faulty, which is a very common occurrance with the shops aimed at your average joe schmoe vehicle owner. I use them all the time.

Marty just hung up on me for no reason at all and does not want to listen when I asked for an engine cradle crossmember k frame for a 2010 Hyundai Elektra the one at the front of the car but behind the engine, and when you go to select it from the computer it ask if it's a sedan, wagon, or rear... But it does not mean rear as the rear of the car, it means engine cradle as in the rear one at the front of the car behind the engine or the rear one of you will.... Because his lack of knowledge or understanding the computer program in front of him or the general layout of a vehicle design with this type of K Frame that has been around for 30 years, he instead hangs up on me like I'm stupid, when I did his job and every other position at Gundies.... Especially inventory.... Maybe Harvey can teach Marty how to stand tall and proud like a man with a spine.... Or keep hanging up the phone like a little baby.......... Nice career you got at Gundies there Marty, keep up the good work with answering the phone and hating yourself.

Emailed them about a part, said id be by after work. Showed up and the part wasnt even pulled yet... Had a guy pull it, was the wrong one. Had another guy pull another and it was correct. Saved some money, very busy place. Would buy there again but make sure to tell them to pull the part before i arrive i guess. First thought was overpriced, but with a year warranty it was half the cost of a new one. So hopefully i got a good used part! If not ill bring it right back.

Came in for an alternator for a 2004 Toyota Solara. Everybody was super nice and helpful. Dan went above and beyond by helping me install the alternator on the spot in their parking lot. Definitely reccomend!

I remember when they were marketing JESUS to get peoples trust.It is sad that a local boneyard is so bent on taking advantage of the public and business alike with their over inflated prices and non negotiating skills.
