I've eaten here a few times, both dine in and take out. Food is okay to good. Ramen is great. The space is really nice - clean with a hip atmosphere. However, their service is notoriously slow. Even with most of the tables empty, we've received slow service. Most recent time we were in there it took about 20 minutes just to get the check, and they never refilled my water. If you're okay with slow service, this is a great dinner or lunch option in the grove.

This was my first time here, the food was tasty. The menu, was a bit different with some Asian influences. I honesty had no idea it was a fusion style restaurant. Took a very long time to get my drinks. I watched my beer sitting at the tap for several minutes. Draft beers are priced the same as mixed drinks. That seems odd. Appetizer was good but came out cold. (Pan fried Gyoza) Main course (Salmon Fish & Chips) very tasty & cooked perfectly. It was not cold. The kimchee tartar sauce was not too powerful, had good flavor but had a sneaky kick after a few bites. The staff was friendly & helpful. Not sure the reason for the slow delivery of drinks, the restuarant was not overly busy. Always good to see new flavors in small towns.

Bites was fabulous! Everyone in our party of seven loved their dish, and they were happy to veganize my dish, which was surprisingly fantastic. It's a fusion restaurant, which can either be hit or miss with dishes. The kimchi udon marinara was such a perfect melding of Italian and Korean. I will definitely eat here again.

First time in. We had the risotto, tempura avocado, and veggie gyoza. SO DELICIOUS! Great environment, plating was on point, everything cooked to perfection. Would give five stars if they hired at least one more person to wait tables. Poor gal was dealing with 5-6 tables on her own (and people kept coming in). She did her best!

While the menu was not really big, the food was unique and delicious. The staff was both friendly and attentive. The decor was on the tastefully minimalist side, and like many of the hip, small places, you are close to those at the next table.

The Salmon Fish and Chips plate was a joke. Not enough Tartar sauce was served, and the fish fry was burnt, resulting in an oily mess. Only one thin slice of lemon was provided, as a garnish - not enough to use for seasoning the food. The fries were served in this silly mock-up stainless steel fry basket, and only one potatoes worth... A piece of parchment paper the size of the entire plate was stuffed in this fry basket under the fries, making one have to lift the parchment paper to reach for the fish every time. We're they trying to save money by making the dish appear larger without using as many potatoes? I don't know. Our server was curt, disingenuous, and way too hurried for a half-filled restaurant. We waited over 25 minutes for food that takes 5-10 minutes to prepare. Not the kind of restaurant I was expecting from the other reviews. Should I have ordered a trendy fusion dish instead? The wine bottles they filled with water and slam onto your table was warm, and tasted like dish soap. Maybe start by serving customers with cold water out of a clean container?

Almost damn perfect. Went for lunch. Lovely interior, nice wait person, great menu. Varied, interesting, lots of things to eat. I had the crab cake bites which were terrific, the seared tuna which was amazing, fresh and melted in my mouth, and the cauliflower which also was spot on. For dessert I shared the tiramisu and the lava cake--both stellar. I would give this place 5 stars except for the one thing that continues to bug me about practically every restaurant I eat in these days--the music. Too loud, and totally wrong for this place. Some mellow jazz or Asian Fusion would work as background. Instead it was some kind of Euro-Pop with that back beat that makes it impossible to think or talk. Maybe younger folks think it's hip, but I'm there for the food and to visit with my friend, not be annoyed by music. I find so often the music is really for the help and doesn't take into consideration the actual people eating there. Please change your music and turn it down. Your food is impeccable.

Loved this place Great atmosphere, good food, good service. Had the naked burger, it was perfect, a side of salad with ginger dressing. My husband had a regular burger with fries and thoroughly enjoyed it. The menu offers a lot of more adventurous "fusion" dishes that loojed appetizing but we were just in the mood for some standard american food which they make very well also. Would definitely come back and try something different.

Please train your hostess, she opened the to go box and lifted the bun to make sure it was the right burger, rude and handed my change from a 20 to me in a wad as she walked past me. Too bad about this place as I thought it had promise. Won't likely go back for more of that.

Had the tonkotsu Ramen. Was okay. Broth was decent, but lacked some degree of depth. garnishments and pork was really good, so that was definitely a positive that overshadowed the broth some. Last the noodles...they seemed very doughy maybe undercooked? Didn't really like them. The wait staff was great and didn't have any issues there. Appeared to get busy and waiter kept me up to date on the status. Really appreciated that. Would I have Ramen again? Probably not. Would I come here again...sure.

Bites is definitely one of my favorite restaurants around the Pacific University area. Huge menu here with tons of interesting options to choose from. It's the perfect restaurant to have when you're unsure of what to eat and want some variety. From burgers to ramen to rice bowls, there's a bit of everything here at this Asian fusion restaurant. We ordered the kai dow rice plate w/ short ribs, the udon, and the crab cake bites. The crab cake bites were a bit disappointing as well as the udon as the flavor was very bland (if you want noodles, the ramen looked way better). I really enjoyed the kai dow though! It was definitely lacking some flavor as well (sriracha helps) and the rice in this isn't typical fried rice, but the overall dish is great and the short ribs here are delicious. Portion sizes are also very solid, and prices weren't too bad! The service here is fast and friendly, the restaurant is very spacious. They even have a bar here! I love restaurants with huge interesting menus, so if you're into Asian fusion food and want variety, this is a great choice! I'll definitely be back to try some of their other stuff.

I went for happy hour, the place was a little deserted but it was early too. I had an old fashioned and we chose 2 appetizers: the “boneless wings “ and the kimchi fries. The wings tasted good, but the batter was a little too heavy. I prefer my breading to be lighter. The sweet potato fries (they were not made from kimchi, there was just some kimchi in the sauce, and not much...) were good, but the cheese wasn’t melted, it just kinda got warm

I’m so bummed I didn’t find this place before we moved out of Oregon. The service was passable but the flavors and cocktails were really great! I love the reclaimed finishes and homemade decor as it adds authenticity and charm. It’s not high brow fare but you’ll remember the pork tacos.

We decided to try Bites again after a year. The last visit was not so memorable. Slow service, okay food. Clearly understaffed. The food might be good but we were never recognized as customers. Never seated. Got tired of being ignored by staff. It was not busy. Left.

Bites was a delightful stop in Forest Grove on our way back from the coast. We were looking for something a little unique, and the mix of unique small plates and full dinners was just wonderful! We tried the K-town Tacos, Pork Gyoza, and Coconut Risotto - and each was delicious! The waitstaff there are fantastic - very friendly and seem to take pride in both their restaurant and the local area. Thanks for a great evening!

Really good asian fusion style (I think, not an expert here). I've yet to have something I don't like. They also have a sizable bar and the drinks are great too. I really enjoy the atmosphere of this place, if you ever on the main street and would like some good food definitely worth stopping in. Get the Tempora Avocado for a starter, you won't be disappointed.

Really nice atmosphere, quick seating, friendly servers. We came just after noon and it was pretty busy. It took a little longer to get our food than what is normal for lunchtime, but it was worth the wait! We had the lemongrass pork and the teriyaki chicken lunch plates. At $8 each these were a good deal and the flavor was absolutely delicious. Will be stopping by again!

If you're wanting to go to a place to eat where you are well taken care of this is not the place to go. Waitress never took drink orders. Halfway through the meal ask for a beer. Did not receive it until right before the check came. Now in a normal circumstance of a busy restaurant I could understand and excuse this but there were only two other groups in the building.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food when I came here for lunch one afternoon. We had the Kalbi Tacos, the Seoul Dumplings, and Kai Dow and a Spicy Seafood Tofu soup. Overall, everything was quite good, service was friendly and prompt, and they didn't mind that I had a newborn infant with me.

Disappointing. We had heard good things but the menu was over priced and the food came up short on flavor and technique. The pork in the ramen was dry despite being in a broth and cooked sous-vide. The fried salmon was over-fried. The only reason I am giving this two stars is the drink selection was good and the mixed drinks turned out well. I might go back for a happy hour but I wont go back for a meal.

Great for tapas! Some of the entrees are hit or miss (specifically the carbonara) but there's always something creative on the menu. If you're not feeling adventurous, the burgers are a solid choice and the nachos are delicious!! We need more options like this in Forest Grove!!!

5 stars for flavor, customer service and a great looking interior. We love the korean fried chicken, the 808 burger and whatever sauce that comes with it. We usually have great food every time with the exception of our last visit. The sauce that came on the side of the burger was super watered down that it just ran off of whatever you put it on. Also, they served sake in a champagne glass which was funny because my bf was the one who was drinking. Previously they served it in, you know, a sake set with the little sake cups.

One of my favortie spot to dine at whenever I'm in Forest Grove. My brothers and I always tip big whenever, since the service is likely always top notch. Personal favorite is the All American or the Donburi.

Not bad for its location. Service accomodating, drinks a little strong if order a cocktail but that's not a bad thing, I'd say. We ordered tapas which were good but nothing too significant. The mustard sauce for the yam fries was good. I'd say this place is amazing if I didn't live in San Diego but being theres so many restaurants I've visited that have similar cuisine, it's hard to come up with an honest opinion. I'll just say for what the restaurant is going for, flavorful tapas and drinks in a small town, they are succeeding.
