Went for dinner all was good except for the prime rib. Waitress delivered all our dinners and never came back until we were almost done. My husband’s dinner, the prime rib, was not edible. He could not cut the prime rib. Waitress was told and said he should of mentioned it to her sooner and left with the rest of our plates. He was only able to eat 3 pieces of the meat. I then went to the hostess and her response was that “it was too late” for them to do anything. Maybe comp the meal, give us a comp dessert or an after dinner drink..... that did not happen. So needless to say we will not be returning to this establishment. Already posted one review on TripAdvisor but somehow it has been deleted from the website.
Fantastic breakfast and atmosphere. Met the owner and definitely invested in his business. Place was extremely busy with a long wait for tables. We just set up at the bar and enjoyed our morning cocktails and full Food Service there. So glad we stopped.
Decorated for Christmas with positive wait staff, who were attentive to your dining needs. Enjoyed good food for a Sunday brunch. . . manageable crowd, had a 20 minute wait.
Amazing
Great food, wonderful atmosphere, attentive pleasant service! A must stop when in the Ogunquit area! Can’t wait to go back!!
What a Gem! Hands down the best breakfast!
Always great food. Best Bloody Mary's and fabulous wine list.
Good atmosphere and classic selections. The Sunday brunch is fantastic!
Horrible nasty breakfast on our visit today. Waitress buzzing around, but not checking on our table. Very expensive for the poor quality, out dated decor, fake old flowers on the tables and drapes and seating like it’s from a b-rated movie of the 60’s. Just go to the Egg & I and get quality food, and very nice ATTENTIVE wait staff. Wow. How poor can a place get?
Great find. Wonderful food.
My mom and I showed up at 10:30 am for some breakfast and a bloody mary. We weren't greeted by anyone at the entrance, so we seated ourselves. There didn't appear to be more than one other group of people there. We sat at our table for a good 15 minutes and no one came over, so we moved to the bar. It took another 5 minutes or so to be asked if we wanted anything to drink. My mom got a house bloody mary, and I got the bacon infused one. They were 11 bucks each. Hers wasn't very good, and mine tasted like boozy bacon bits. I decided I didn't want anything to eat. My mom ordered the eggs benedict. When it showed up, I didn't say anything to my mom, but it looked awful. Two small, dry English muffin halves with eggs, Canadian bacon, and a cheese sauce that almost looked like it came from a Kraft mac n' cheese box. The hash browns that came with them amounted to MAYBE 1/3 of a cup. My mom cut into the eggs, and the whites of the eggs were liquid. Having worked for years in the food industry, I was pretty disgusted. She decided that she'd send it back, because it was pretty much inedible, and just stick with her drink. When the bartender brought the check, she told us that she'd given the meal to us for 50% off, even though we'd returned it before a bite was taken. We had to talk to her manager to get the charge taken off completely. I felt bad for the bartender, who was sweet even though she wasn't attentive, that she had to go through the trouble of getting her manager to authorize the return of a meal that was way more than sub-par, as I'm sure she asked them initially what to do about writing up our bill. I think this place needs new management and an overhaul when it comes to the food, the pricing, and the service.
Great place , good food , perfect service , good size portions, t They need to work on meat temperate ( medium well means , is no pink ) and light up the place a little better. Besides that is a very friendly crew and food was very good .
Great place, great food, great bloody Mary, great service
Excellent food. Beautiful atmosphere. Friendly staff. You will never go wrong at this restaurant
Brunch is awesome here! I recommend their rustic French toast! Service was pretty shakey last time we went, but every other time we went in the past the service was much better.
Went for Breakfast. Got the Corned Beef Hash. Wasn't what I expected, actually better than expected. When we walked in and sat down I thought this is a bit pricey. When I walked out, price wasn't an issue. Service could have been a bit better. Waited fifteen minutes to get our check while the waitress chatted with a few of the locals. They were the next table over. So it's not like she didn't see us. We were obviously not a priority.
Amazing breakfast, both days I was in town. Super high quality ingredients, great service.
It's expensive but it is AWESOME.
Beautiful place, great staff and amazing food. Highly recommend it and definitely get the lobster bisque
Waited for quite some time, finally got seated in a room with only 3 tables in it. Had 2 members of the wait staff come in a total of 3 times, walked around our table and never even acknowledged us. We got up and left.
I want to start off by saying our waitress Julie B. was top notch. There were issues with the quality of the food and she worked really hard to rectify those problems. The duck was overcooked and the prime rib was undercooked. She had the prime rib recooked and it came out the way I wanted it. Switched the duck to the cod special which was well prepared. Wine list was extensive, so plenty of choices. Dessert was very good. Would had given them only two stars if it wasn't for Julie. Because of her, we will give Bintliff's another try next time we are in town.
For your first meal of the day, Ogunquit has a few note-worthy restaurants to choose from. If you often don't want to drive too far to start your morning, stay in the center of town, and wander over to Bintliff’s on Route 1 (Main Street). We're so pleased to have a great breakfast place right in the neighborhood. Our morning time ritual usually starts with us ending up at the same place every time. Because at Bintliff’s, Norm's Corned Beef Hash is hands down the best damn brunch we have ever had! Their famous Angus corned beef is simmered overnight, blended with potatoes, onions, special herbs and seasonings to make the Best Corned Beef Hash you ever tasted! Come complete with two poached eggs. I added the fabulous “BLT Bloody Mary” with bacon infused vodka to make a perfect breakfast. Jason, the bartender, also has another great Bloody Mary, this one with basil and cucumber infused vodka - it is described as a “Salad in a Glass” - and it really does taste like it. Norm, the owner/chef is always creative with both his morning entrees and accompanying adult beverages. And, you can still get a great cup of coffee. The best way to start the day is a seat at Bintliff’s. It doesn’t come any better then this.
Always a great meal at Bintliff's! As busy as they are, the staff is generally very upbeat, smiling and friendly. Love Sunday morning breakfast there. Expect a wait but worth it. If dinner is in your plans, you won't be disappointed!
Awesome breakfast
Best traditional Benedict in the area!!! Pretty great Bloody Marys too.
Love the atmosphere, the staff and the Owners. GOOD IS GREAT, service is too. Usually busy so expect a wait. TRY THE Sunday PLATED BRUNCH. No buffet, just BIG PLATES of GREAT FOOD.
We visited a month ago. We did not enjoy our visit there. From the beginning we waited for Hostess to return to her station and then she said we need to place our meal order very quickly. It was 8:30 Not a good start! We explained to waiter... he said we had plenty of time.."no rush". Meals were served and the veg.tables were over cooked and not good. Everything was lacking taste. Loved the bread!! Decor was dark and mid evil style. Wasn't expecting to see that decor when I walked in.
Quaint and great service, really good for breakfast
There are not enough adjectives to praise Bintliffs.. The service is outstanding, the atmosphere unusual and the food divine. It is one of our favorite places, especially just before tourist season so the traffic on Rte 1 is not as congested. Be sure to try the Duck, the prime rib when offered Th-Sun, the make your own brunch omelet. Never ever had a disappointing meal here in over 7 years.
Irish Benedict was pretty good. Their "special" Bloody Mary came out of a store bought bottle... The owner replied that the Bloody Marys are made fresh in house. I WATCHED the bartender pour it out of a bottle, akin to Mr. T or similar. I don't remember the brand. It wasn't a bar made mix, unless you scavenge old bottles and put your mix in them...
Love Bintliffs! Amazing breakfasts, the hash browns are a must have. Super Bloody Mary's
Great for breakfast I go there a lot when I stay in Ogunquit Maine
We come here for breakfast every time we are in Maine (sometimes twice) and it is absolutely fantastic. I love the gingerbread pancakes - fluffy gingerbread with a lemon reduction syrup - oh my! My husband usually gets the apple cinnamon raisin french toast. We also love their veggie home fries. The side portion is enough to share. We look forward to our visit every year!
Let me tell you best breakfast anywhere and if you like Bloody Mary's they have bacon infused vodka Wow. My wife had Irish Benedict the hash was soooooo good I had an omelet and my mother had crab cake Benedict. Service was excellent highly recommend Bintliffs.
They do a great job with all their meals
The most pleasant Brunch you could have, at Bintliffs. Host, and Our SERVER WAS EXCELLENT!
My wife and I drove 2.5 hours for their Beef Wellington and it was worth it 100%. Food, service, and atmosphere was fantastic. We cannot wait to go back!
Great food pleasent service. Good for lunch and brunch.
Nice meal, good service, big wine list, we'd go back
Best dining in Maine. Food is excellent, prices are reasonable, staff is attentive and professional.
Wonderful food and great locals, great time!
Went for breakfast twice on our anniversary weekend away, lobster Benedict was incredible. The homemade hash Benedict was very good too. Probably the best breakfast I can remember.
The bartender/cook was great.his father who was seating people had a great sense of humor the food was very good. OVERALL A GREAT EXPERIENCE
Very good, classy sort of place, with exceptional food. I personally don't really like the formality, but it was very nice.
The BEST Sunday Brunch around...from the Bloody Mary to the hash, to the egg selection. Get there early or you may have to wait. It is worth it though.
I love taking friends to Bintliff's Sunday brunch! We thought with 6 of us, the wait would be insane, but were pleasantly surprised. The creme brulee French toast was remembered by my friend who I brought to visit a few monrhs ago. When I had her and 4 other friends visit over the weekend, there was no question about where we were eating. I thought I remembered the bloody Mary's were too spicy, but when my boyfriend ordered one this time, it was delicious:) Amongst us were two people who don't eat dairy and one vegetarian. We found plenty of food. Crabcake Benedict was a hit! The smoked salmon in our omelets was a little dry/overcooked(?) But really that is only if I have to offer any tip. Even with a broken waffle maker and latte machine, our visit left us all satisfied. It would be great if they had almond or soy milk for coffee too!
Not as good as usual. Puff pastry on the Beef Wellington was burnt.
Great food
Best place ever!!! Go for dinner OR brunch..you will be soooo happy!!!!rib eye was perfect..jason server..john greets you...and norm owner....highly recommended 10/10!!!!ogunquit Maine THANKYOU all for a great night!!!!will see you soon
We enjoyed brunch over President’s day weekend, 2018. The cinnamon raisin toast and corned beef hash was amazing. I would highly recommend as this is s gem. It is worth the wait and our service was great too.
First visit for breakfast. Place was full. Waited 10 minutes, sat at the bar. Met other diners who raved about the food. Had creme brulee french toast loved it. Can't wait to get back for more
Great brunch, not sure about dinner (didn't have dinner here) . Had the corn beef hash and or was amazing. A higher priced. They upper higher end with classical look, but the details are important. (food is great) however, some crooked hung pictures, needs a bit more upkeep then I'd say 5 star. Updated review to 5 star, as the company actual read this and reacted to it. Good job , not everyone pays attention to what thousands of customers see all the time when searching web.
Amazing menus, huge portions, interesting atmosphere.
Loved! Loved! Loved your veggie home fries meal! You can taste the "freshness" of the vegetables. And of course your Corned Beef Hash is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! A must dining experience for our yearly ME vacations!
We always enjoy dining at Bintliff's when we're in Ogunquit and appreciate their rewards coupons. The interior is unique and a step back in time. We like to sit at one of the half moon tables, which is a circular table that seats up to 4 with a hanging window in front of it. This makes dining as a couple more private and conversation easy to hear even with larger parties in the room. It's also one of the few restaurants in the area that takes reservations for 2. We've never been disappointed with our meals. Over Memorial Day weekend the special was fantastic -pan seared scallops over fiddlehead ferns with a delicate sauce. The herb encrusted rack of lamb was delicious and cooked just right. The wine and cocktail selection is extensive. Our waitress Julie was very attentive and gave some helpful food recommendations.
Great place for a large breakfast and adult morning beverages.
Fantastic food and the staff was great "Mahalo"
Excellent brunch inventive menu funny bartender
Such good breakfast. Never left here hungry!
ALWAYS GREAT
Had brunch with some friends here and everything was great. We had our 3 year old with us and that was not a problem. Great atmosphere. They dont split checks...
The best breakfast in the ogunquit well area
The best Bloody Mary's in town, and the Best Brunch menu anywhere! Also great lunch & dinner menu. In Summer they have Rhode Island clam fritters to die for!
Waitress was good, but prime rib was raw when we asked for medium. Sent back and meat was put under a broiler to brown the outside but still raw inside. Not sure we would return next visit. Decor was very dated and once their senior citizens customer base is unable to return they will need to quickly make their restaurant current with their appearance and food offering.
Very good food, cozy atmosphere, very clean. Healthy meal options available. Reasonable prices.
We were surprised by the very old look of the interior. The curtains looked dusty but I'm sure they were not. Got prime rib that looked good but it was so tough I had to send it back. Waitress was understanding and getting a different meal was not a problem. Spouse rated his fish dinner as fair. Will not go back
Nice atmosphere food was good for the price. Loved the brie.
Excellent and very delicious food, terrific staff, and fabulous atmosphere. We have dined at Bintliff's more than 20 times over several years for brunch or dinner. Each and every time we have had a wonderful dining experience. We have traveled the world and Bintliff's is by far, our favorite restaurant!
Fantastic place, great food and staff!
A good place to eat.
Very nice restaurant quiet atmosphere wonderful food for the pricing great staff present night out
Delicious food and great service
I enjoyed my time here and I had a good meal. My server was very friendly and helpful with her suggestions. I was served water right away and my server took my order after giving me some time to review the menu. After I ordered the baked brie as an appetizer and was brought
Great experience all around! Definitely will dine here again.
Furnishings and ambiance give sensation to another era. Stopped for lunch and had a cup of clam chowder and a Cobb salad. Chowder was different because of condiments and very tasty, I liked it very much. Cobb salad is one of the best I ever had! It was abundant and well presented, the dressing was house made and flavorful. The place is a bit pricier but we'll worth it. Would I go back? Yes I will.
Good food, good people, great service!
Great food, good prices, friendly staff. Just a long wait for table and the food because of popularity.
One of our favorite places.
Delicious food in a cozy, classy atmosphere
Great location. Winter visit but quiet and relaxing. Room was really nice, walk.in shower. Short walk to Main Street.
Great atmosphere. Great food.
Very welcoming. Friendly staff. Great service Great food.
I come here with friends every Memorial Day - and have done so for years. It has become our traditional Memorial Day Weekend cap before we head home to New Bedford, Massachusetts. The food is always fabulous and the ambiance top-notch. I had an omelet with corned beef, onions and Swiss and it was delicious. As was the Bloody Mary beforehand! Highly recommended.
The gentleman John who sat us was very attentive throughout our meal. He made us feel welcome and appreciated. Ruth our server did I terrific job also. The Establishment has great ambiance and the food was delicious and cooked well. Some of the items are a little pricey. We were there on Sunday prior to going to the Ogunquit Playhouse. It worked out well and we would definitely go back again.
It was pretty good in terms of the food. The waiter was very good. The atmosphere acceptable, but rather dated. Wish I could have added another star, but simply missing the cut. I seldom rate 5 stars unless truly exceptional experience.
What can be said about this place that isn't great. I stopped here on the way up to Cabela's and had a phenomenal breakfast. There were so many spectacular dishes to choose from. Looking forward to bringing the wife for a special occasion.
Great service from start to finish - and on Easter ! Food was fabulous ! Will definitely be back
We started off our evening with a bowl of French onion soup each. The amount of flavor that had been packed into that bowl was amazing. Sometimes you can get a soup that's over salted - this was perfect. I had the prime rib (Saturday only) and my wife had one of the steaks. Both were cooked and seasoned to perfection. To top it off, my wife ordered the chocolate lasagna - which was huge, and one of the most decadent things I've eaten in a long time. The waiter was new that night, yet the service was excellent. I'd rate this as a snappy casual to dressy place. We did order any, but the wine selection looks pretty good. All told we spent about $90 for the meal before tip, and I would call it money very well spent. We will be returning in the future.
Outrageous breakfast haven’t had lunch or dinner but will in the near future. Atmosphere is nice, a restaurant home in downtown Ogunquit which was as mom and pop as any where. Small roomy full bar and two large dining areas but it is common to wait for a table during the summer. Blood Mary’s are delicious here, I forgot to take a picture it was so good. I have gotten a BLT and regular Bloody Mary both are tasty. The pancakes are really big and clearly made from scratch. I usually get one and the Irish eggs Benedict, home made old school corned beef two perfectly poached eggs on top of house made English muffins 10/10 and large portions. Freshly house made roasts, I usually get the cinnamon raisin, they do sell them by the loaf if you call a day or two in advance. Talk about ourageous breakfast place in downtown OGT. Best breakfast in town, no question about it. Can’t wait to come for dinner.
Super rude manager, okay food. Don't do separate checks? Complete mess trying to handle our party of 9. We won't be back.
Great food and great service
Awesome food everytime, really enjoy it there!!!
Really nice restaurant, we had breakfast, although I felt like it was overpriced, the overall service & food was great.
Bintliff's is a treat. I make this restaurant a must do brunch destination every summer. Have a breakfast cocktail, they are famous for their Bloody Mary's. Never ordered a breakfast fare that wasn't delicious here.
The Korean scramble was really delicious
Pancakes where excellent
Awesome food and drinks! Worth the wait! And rockstar Ruthie at the bar is the best!
Service was great. Food delicious
Jason the bartender is the best ever! He even jump started my car! Top knotch and the food is great too!
This is the place for brunch. The corned beef is to die for. The y know what they are doing here.
Amazing food. Cool atmosphere
Food was delicious, service was great. Nice atmosphere.
The restaurant was very nice. The group was very loud next to us. We asked about 3 times for refills on our drinks, they burned my grandson waffle 2 times. He is 3 and he had. T
Beautiful inside (don't judge from outside) try it you'll love it !!
Wonderful food in nice atmosphere. Great wine selection!
Delicious food and great service!
Delicious food, fun and fancy throwback atmosphere.
This used to be one of my favorite brunch locations. I am a huge fan of poached eggs and hash, and for a long time, bintliff's had the best around! I went recently and was super disappointed with the quality of the food compared to the price of my bill. Maybe this was a one-off visit but everyone in my party was let down. The food is good, don't get me wrong. But that's a big price to pay for "good" food. Bintliff's was exceptional every other visit. I really really hope I can update this review some day.
Fabulous server, wonderful atmosphere+ GREAT food
I love going there because it is always a great experience. The menu is extensive and filled with so many wonderful homemade choices. The wait staff are the best. The bloody Mary's are famous and I can't wait to return.
Old school dining - classy restaurant with really good food and very good service. Escargot, brie, sausage platter were all good appetizers. Beef Wellington, roasted rack of lamb, and surf and turf platter were all great entrees. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't be fooled!
Jason the bartender was great and very insightful helping us with the menu! Huge portions and the best corned beef hash. I wish I lived closer!
Best corned beef EVER..plus their Beef Wellington is exceptional. Attentive staff..great restaurant if you want a special evening
Best corned beef hash anywhere, eggs done perfectly, fabulous home made toast and killer coffee. Best place for brunch and dinner is over the top too. Huge list of great bloody Mary's and mimosa are the best in town.
Best ribs ever and such a great deal! She loved her filet mignon. We’ll definitely be back! Edit - came back for Valentine’s Day and enjoyed our meal yet again! I would put these ribs up against the best in Kansas City or Memphis (I’ve tried some of the best out there)
Beautiful setting, excellent food and service
Excellent gourmet breakfast worth the price.
I don’t normally leave reviews, but Bintliff’s stood out as an exception. New Yorker here visiting Ogonquit and I’d love to accolade and thank this restaurant for being outstanding. Norm is excellent (bartender and, I gathered, owner). Ruth (I believe? Hostress) was phenomenal. Efficient, professional and clearly an asset. I was in the restaurant industry for 12 years and it’s so lovely and nice to see well-run establishments with great service and communication and execution. Well done, Bintliff’s, and thank you.
Impossible to pick anything ‘wrong’ on menu at Bintliffs ! Always friendly service, Always delicious creatively designed food ! A cut above the the usual breakfast. Pictured Tuscan Scramble
Always excellent food and outstanding sevice.
The food and the service is always exquisite. Combination of new flavors new ideas. Chef Norm always exceeds my expectations
We stopped for a late breakfast, around 10. The menu offers many different options and flavor combinations with a gourmet theme. The preparation is more diner than Michelin though. Paid extra for fresh-squeezed oj - it was from a carton. Burnt butter and wild mushroom scramble did not have the nutty brown butter flavor and was not fine and fluffy - more like short-order, griddle fried eggs done quickly. My wife's graham and lemon French toast lacked flavor. Our server was not very knowledgeable of her large and varied menu. Better off heading for a good diner and saving a few bucks.
The food here is absolutely delicious. If you are in the area, you need to make sure you stop by to enjoy this location. I at first got the Halibut, as it was the special of the night, but upon realizing it came with so many bones within, I asked for another dish, which they were more than happy to accommodate, which I was so surprised with, given the expense of the dishes they make. They serve delicious bread at the beginning of each meal, which I got a couple of helpings of. Definitely recommend this place for a good seafood/steak experience.
We love breakfast at Bintliff's. The best hash around and those perfect shredded potatoes....yummy. Frittatas and waffles and pancakes are all delicious, as well. Great service. Lovely decor. A wonderful, relaxing, delicious place for breakfast.
We’re here from Lexington Kentucky (previously Manhattan, NYC). Called at 7:10pm to see about coming at 7:45pm for dinner. They said we should get there by 7:30pm in order to have dinner since they like to wrap up early on Thursday nights. Their listing on google maps says 8:30pm, and their website says they’re open until “closing” from Wed - Sat. Anyway, seemed lame. 1 star.
Very slow service (we're talking an hour from ordering to receiving our meals) but everything was so good I would go back anyway. Definitely recomend the irish breakfast or an order of corned beef hash.
Wonderful food and atmospheres
Service is great..food is on point.
Elegant interior, soft background 40s music, friendly professional service--- and high quality foods outstandingly prepared----make a reservation!
DO NOT GO HERE!!! THE FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. I NEVER EVER WRITE REVIEWS BUT THE FOOD WAS HORRENDOUS. MY HUSBAND AND I WENT FOR BRUNCH, HE OREDERED THE STEAK AND EGGS. THE STEAK WAS DRY AND TASTELESS AND OVERCOOKED! I HAD THE DUCK BURGER AND I HAD ONLY ONE BITE. IT WAS REALLY BAD. JUST BY LOOKING AT IT I KNEW IT WAS NOT GOING TO BE GOOD. THE MEAT WAS FLAVORLESS, THE TEXTURE WAS WEIRD. IT WAS JUST VERY BAD FOOD! I CAN’T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS RESTAURANT HAS SUCH GREAT REVIEWS. THIS PLACE IS A DISASTER!
Thank you, Bintliffs, for being wheelchair accessible in a town that has many restuarants that are not. You always made us feel welcome! Great waitstaff & delicious food!
Great breakfast
Disappointed burger was made wrong and they did have another bun to remake it
Long wait ... But enjoyed duck hash as for duck burger I would not get again
Always excellent service and food! Breakfast is the same price as it would be at a diner, but the quality is so much better. Dinner has some amazing indulgent options, as well as a few lower cost options which are still made to the same high standards. Staff is friendly and attentive.
Food was Phenomenal...Waitresses name was Ruthie..We will always ask for her..
Excellent food and service
Delicious, can't wait to go back.
Great breakfast! Came here the morning after a wedding. Phenomenal bloody mary and great food.
Lobster Benedict w/Large pieces of fresh lobster & Creme Brulee French toast- Must try!
Amazing atmosphere, great tasting food and very nice staff. 5 Stars easily
Nice food , nice crowd,, recommended famous corned beef
Very pricey. Prime rib was tough.
Delicious food, nice atmosphere, great service.
Meal was excellent. Waiter was attentive. This was our second visit and we'll return again.
Incredible food, good drinks, and pleasant staff.
Fantastic service and staff. Food was fantastic, from the house made bread with garlic and herb butter to the French Onion Soup and the Beef Wellington which was one of the best I've ever had. Excellent and well thought out wine list with several local vinyards listed. Top notch service and great food!
Great duck hash and crabmeat Benedict.
Very good service, food was good but a bit pricey.
Delicious breakfast and good portion.
The owners greeted us personally and we chatted about several interesting subjects. Such nice folks and dinner, dessert was fantastic! ;)
We are going tonite for dinner !!
Great meal and staff
Never had a bad meal there yet and have been there any times
Everything was great! Waitress was very nice! And they have a reward card. Very cute place.
Splendid breakfast, you will not be disappointed!
This place is hopping this Sunday am. We had the Creme brulee French toast, steak and eggs and a bowl of clam chowder. Yummm
Absolutely a great place, the best in Maine
