This Restaurant is included in the category of Indian restaurant.
I went here by chance earlier this summer. Since I was driving by Boise, I took my family. Delicious.
We ate here for the buffet on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was clean and quiet, the food was delicious and hot, and the service was wonderful. We came in with our 10 month old daughter and they immediately brought her a high chair and cup of water and even brought her a tiny glass of mango lassi during the meal which was so sweet. The servers were quick to take away empty plates and never let our large party of 11 run out of water or naan. Highly recommend for the food, service and atmosphere!
We went for the buffet and was pleasantly surprised. Lots of vegan and non-vegan to chose from. Some of the food may be considered spicy by American standards but there was also some mildly spiced food on the buffet as well. Located in a nice old building in the down town area. Fresh hot Nan a standard. Even though we were using the buffet, we were given great service. I will be going back.
We loved this buffet! A great spread, the best Indian food we’ve had in Boise!
Went for the lunch buffet and was impressed. The food tasted fine it was a great price (around 10 bucks) and it came with an order of naan. Well worth it.
An awesome location with friendly staff and wonderful traditional Indian cuisine. It has never disappointed in the many years we have been going there.
Terrible from start to finish. Was not greeted when we walked in, food had zero Indian flavor, tandoori chicken was not tandoori chicken, chicken biryani had no flavor and rice was mushy, Indian lady at the door was rude, never again. Don't waste your money go to Madhuban Cuisine instead.
I had a great dinner experience here... the reviews for Bombay are mixed on yelp and google of either being incredible or lackluster. Generally the lackluster reviews seem to fall under the lunch category... For dinner, We were greeted promptly, seated, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. They brought a small appetizer, not sure of the name but it’s like a thin crispy sheet chip with chutney... it’s was tasty! I got a lamb dish that was incredible, traditional, and none was left on my plate... so good! We also got Lassi drinks- great! I will definitely be going to this restaurant for dinner again. If you like Indian food and good service- this is the place for you :-)
We love going for the lunch buffet. The food is great and the people that work there are awesome. It's not a typical place you'd take kids but every time we've taken ours they've been sooo accommodating.
Very authentic Indian food. Lots of options for vegetarian and vegan as well as meat. Apparently family run. Casual or fancy; you'll feel comfortable either way. Parking close by but not free parking. Right downtown in Boise.
I went here by chance earlier this summer. Since I was driving by Boise, I took my family. Delicious.
This is my comfort food!!! Love this place.
Delicious authentic cuisine. The lunch buffet is fun because it gives you a chance to try several different dishes. They bring fresh Naan to your table. Family style is fun for dinner.
We love Indian food and this Boise spot won't disappoint.
Great food and the owners are always out insuring that you enjoy your time there
We have always visited this restaurant for its lunch buffet. Great selection at a reasonable price. Kids get a small cup of mango lassi and this makes my child feel special cos adults don't get it lol. The free flow naan and chai tea are nice additions to the food spread. Wish they would bring back the mushroom masala for the weekend buffet! One gripe is that the deep fried fritters always end up tasting like solidified lukewarm oil. Owners are warm and friendly.
Unfortunately, the food was lackluster. I'm not sure what happened as the food used to be quite authentic and really good. Perhaps I was just there on an off day?
Best Indian food in Boise! Buffet is always full and fresh including chai tea! Staff is amazing, friendly and family oriented. Space for large groups as well.
I have been coming to Bombay Grill for about 3 years. The owners are amazing and interact with the customers on a name bases. Boise is a small city but this place feels like home. The staff is awesome, the food is amazing, and the value is great. If you are in Boise you owe it to yourself to try Bombay Grill because it is the best Indian food in town hands down.
Awesome food. They have a lunch buffet that's all you can eat (about $10). Really great food & even better waiters/waitresses.
Great food and service...
Super yummy. Love all the dishes and great service!
The lunch buffet is delicious. There is a wide variety of options and they are all very good. The Butter Chicken is especially good and I highly recommend it. The price is reasonable and the atmosphere is nice. It can be busy during the peak lunch hour when getting a seat can be difficult, so if you can be a little flexible it can help. Seats can be reserved if you plan ahead.
The atmosphere, service, and food were great. There were lots of options from lamb and chicken to goat and vegetarian. The prices were reasonable.
I ate at this restaurant exactly once. While the food tasted good at the time and the servers were friendly, I found it alarming to bite into a piece of chicken and have blood come out of it. I ended up getting food poisoning that lasted three days and made me feel like dying. I’m not exaggerating - it was horrible and I haven’t been able to eat chicken curry since. Based on the unsafe conditions, I could never recommend someone to eat here.
Nice buffet but buffet seems only having in the weekends
One of the nicest owners in town. One of the best lunch buffets in town. Go here and take a nap at work in the afternoon if you can.
Best Indian food in town! Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere
The food is excellent and the owners are so friendly. They saw me and my husband waiting in the cold snow for their place to open and let us in to get warm and serve us. We always love our experience there, and the buffet is delicious!!
My fave quick lunch in Boise. Butter Chicken is amazing. Rice pudding is perfect finish to cool taste buds from hot dishes. Only downside is controlling my portions.
Fantastic lunch buffet.
Excellent authentic Indian food and drinks.
I really like how they have the vegan options labeled on the menu. They have delicious food and a homey atmosphere!
Best Indian food in town for the all you can eat lunch, plus you get free chai tea!
i loved their raita. Their food has very good flavor, though i asked for extremely spicy i found no salt and peeper in the food at all. otherwise it is a lovely place to enjoy food and their stuffs are very friendly.
Good Indian food in Boise. Had dinner here with co-workers and the food was tasty and delicous. Service was nice and friendly.
We loved the food we ordered, it was a good experience
Great buffet for lunch, and the made-to-order dinner entrees are even better. Rich, deep Indian flavors and top-notch ingredients in a convenient downtown location. This is a go-to for me when I am jonesing for some good Indian grub.
I love this place. Going for the lunch buffet is not only delicious but reasonably priced. The Chai, I will admit it's the main reason I go but it is so good.
Great place for lunch, nice selection of food
The food was amazing! We walked in and were surrounded by the savory and delicious smells of authentic Indian food. We arrived right after they opened at 11 am. The place was empty but quickly filled up as we ate. The lunch buffet was a great value. I have friends from India that cooked for me when we lives in Washington state and have been looking for a great place. This is it. The Mattar Paneer was on point. The butter chicken was great as well. The Nann was a little different than I am use to. It wasn't bad, I think maybe it was different flour than I am use to or it may have just been thicker. Do yourself a favor and eat here, you wont regret it.
Bombay Grill is an amazing place to eat. My favorite time to eat is buffet time. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is always friendly.
Love it! Go here all the time for lunch. Lots of flavorful vegetarian options with protein! (Legumes)
Why are there green peppers in the Chicken Biryani? It's the worst thing I've had until now. It was just rice with lots of turmeric, huge onion pieces which are not even fried and chicken pieces. The food is just not worth the money. Very disappointed with the food.
Good taste and hospitality
Great place for my post-interview lunch. Great food, quick, easy, convenient, and quiet enough for conversations with potential teammates. I'll definitely be back often.
My friend and I go here every time we're in Boise! The staff is always friendly, and the food is excellent and affordable.
Delicious food and great service!
Fantastic food and service.
Bombay Grill is an amazing place to eat. My favorite time to eat is buffet time. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is always friendly.
WEDNESDAYS THE HAVE CURRY GOAT! SOOOOO DELICIOUS! BEST LUNCH BUFFET IN BOISE, HANDS DOWN!
Great food and service. Our 1 year old was tired and uncooperative and the server offered us a mango smoothie free of charge! And our little guy sucked it down like it was the best thing he had ever had. He then ate the rest of his meal with no problem. Great staff that cares about their customers!
The Lamb saag was soooooo tastey. This is my new favorite spot for Indian food!
Incredible food, clean, stellar service, and the buffet is top notch. 10/10 would recommend
I love the lunch buffet. Tastes so yummy and well worth the money. The fresh Nan is amazing too!
Both the Lamb Kadai and Lamb Rogan Josh were superb, definitely will be eating from here again.
Simply delightful and try the lunch buffet, it's so yummy!
Excellent flavor and variety of Indian cuisine. The lunch buffet is a great deal as well.
Always great food, friendly service, and a beautiful atmosphere. Make sure to get the chai tea and dessert. Everything is included in an affordably priced buffet. Great value and one of my favorite restaurants in Boise. Check it out!
Best butter chicken in town. I always feel like family when I am there....
Went here one night for some authentic Indian food and was highly impressed. Everything was delicious. We tried an assortment of Lamb, Chicken, and vegetable dishes and found them all very flavorful. The atmosphere was very pleasant as well.
Not disappointed. Was going to have the Bhindi Masala which I love but my partner said try something different. Had the Malai Kofta. Delicious!! Also had the vegetarian Samosas which were also very good. Since I have go to a predominantly plant based diet this place has not disappointed me. They appear to have a very good selection of vegetarian dishes designed to be vegetarian. Cost is reasonable, service is fast and friendly. Of the three Indian restaurants in Boise, this is my preference.
The food is great, the spices are really good and not too hot. The historic building and the atmosphere are comfortable. We enjoyed the lunch buffet.
I love this place. The lunch buffet is the best Indian food in town. But I keep forgetting that they are closed Mondays.
Love it! Go here all the time for lunch. Lots of flavorful vegetarian options with protein! (Legumes)
Butter chicken best on buffet
Amazing price and taste for 7 dollars
Great service, excellent vegetarian options. I absolutely love the Dhal Tadka and of course naan bread. I go there quite often
Best butter chicken I've ever had!
I would never go to this place again. The Chicken Tekka Masala was really hot, dry, and a little cold. It was great location and good autmosphere, but I wasn't expecting that horrible Masala.
Amazing food and reasonably prices. Plus they have an entire section of their buffet is vegetarian. Friendly and helpful staff.
BEST Indian food hands down. My favorite dish is the chicken tikka masala. Their naan bread is to die for as well. Family run restaurant and top notch quality 11/10
Amazing food like always
Great affordable cuisine
Went for the lunch buffet and it was phenomenal. First time really trying Indian food and I was blown away (along with everyone else in my group). $11.65 for high quality buffet food. Will definitely be back!!
My favorite Indian food in town! The staff is friendly, the owners are amazing, and the food is the BEST!! The lunch buffet has great options and everything is super fresh and tasty.
I just enjoyed one of the best meals in my life!! It was all delicious. A mixed veggies appetizer, and a vegetarian combo platter from the back of the menu. The service was great and the atmosphere was perfect for relaxation. Thanks!! I highly recommend.
Wow! Amazing service, such a nice family running this place. Most excellent service and food; never have had an experience quite like it. Thank you!
Everyone was very professional and excellent customer service.
Love the food here, buffet lunch is awesome. Beware, closed on Mondays.
Best Indian food around. Friendly service, fresh, and savory!
Nice authentic Indian taste
I've eaten at the Bombay Grill many times and always enjoyed the food. The Butter Chicken is my favorite dish! We recently spent 2 months in another country, and these are the things I missed: 1. My Super comfortable bed 2. My cats 3. Butter Chicken from Bombay Grill No joke! It's one of the best food experiences Boise has to offer :)
I love the lunch buffet! It's fun to try different foods and a great place to bring vegetarian friends.
Tried this place once with the boyfriend.... ended up going back every Sunday for 5 weeks straight. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, the staff beyond accomodating and the food is fantastic. We are vegetarian and they have a wide variety of food we can actually eat and we could not stop for a bit. Try it!
Food was excellent! But the owner was even better. Our one year old was really tired and throwing a fit. The owner brought him some mango lassi and yogurt, that he loved, and did not charge us for it. Great experience!!
Great buffet!
Best Indian lunch buffet in Boise. I have actual dreams of this place. The staff is super friendly and the owner is a great guy. I’m obsessed with the butter chicken, naan, and PERFECT rice pudding.
Food isn’t bad, but could use more flavor.
Went for the lunch buffet and it was phenomenal. First time really trying Indian food and I was blown away (along with everyone else in my group). $11.65 for high quality buffet food. Will definitely be back!!
Love this place! Great buffet in downtown Boise. Chicken Tikka masala is the bomb!
Absolutely love this place!
OUTSTANDING! I was unbelievably pleasantly surprised with Bombay Grill. When I have needed an Indian fix in Boise over the years, I have always gone with the "crowd favorite" which wins accolades all the time. And while their food is good, I've always felt like, "THIS is the best that Boise can do?" Well now I know better. Sorry to say it took me so long to go to Bombay Grill, but I'm happy I finally made the call to go there. I have pretty low expectations for a buffet (based on experience), but here the trays were well-tended and the food was uber-tasty. The standout was their Butter Chicken - I could order a bucket of this stuff. Their take on it is as a shredded chicken in sauce - just perfect. The Tikki Masala was excellent as well, and the Mango Chicken (which, based on the size of the serving dish, must be one of their more popular items though it wasn't my personal favorite). The only real miss for me was the Lamb Vindaloo. While I was ecstatic to see this on a buffet as it's my favorite Indian dish ever, this version fell flat and tasted almost more like an Irish lamb stew. Where were all the great flavors like the other dishes? This is a Goan specialty - treat it as such! And it needed WAY (ANY?) more heat than what was there. Vindaloo is supposed to make you sweat. This just made me sigh. The cucumber salad was clearly cut fresh there, not pulled out of a bag. Thank you! I appreciate that! And the raita was excellent. But perhaps the best of all is the fact that they bring you out piping-hot fresh naan that was clearly just made for you. At a buffet? Getouttahere! If you desire authenticity, just think of the last time you went into an Indian place and they had the Indian National Cricket team on the screen playing. What's that? Never? Yeah, me neither. But Bombay had it going on. Is this a high-end fancy place to impress a first date? No, and it's not meant to be. It's a damn solid restaurant with a killer lunch buffet. I will be back - and soon!
Our favorite Indian restaurant in town! Love the atmosphere and yummy food. Lunch buffet is the best!
Awesome! Excellent food.
Love their lunch buffet
The staff is friendly, service was great, and the food was AMAZING. I got the non-vegetarian thali, which is like a sampler. Everything was delicious: the chicken curry was great, the masala was perfectly buttery, the saag paneer was so fresh and tasty...
Really love this place. The people running the establishment are super friendly and make sure you have a great meal. Food is also amazing, I always look forward to it.
Amazing food. Owners very friendly and welcoming.
Love the food and service here. A favorite!
I think this is the best Indian I have had. The lunch buffet is amazing especially for the price.
Great food and service.
Best Indian food in Boise!
Good location and the food was good. Not great but good. Just tried one of the goan vindaloo dishes and it was good. Need to give the lunch buffet a try and will be updating the review based on that
What a Wonderful meal. We had the Chef's Special for a group of 8 of us and we were amazed with the variety and flavors of foods. The service was above and beyond the norm and the restaurant was perfect for conversation.
OMG! Best Indian food in Boise! Love their amazing lunch buffet which includes Chai Tea at no extra charge...
It took me the longest time to convince my wife to visit here since it was one of my favorite spots. When I finally got her to go the service was terrible. We were never offered any drinks and we would have had to hunt someone down to order desserts so we left without ordering very unsatisfied.
Food was good, but wow. Servers spilled over one of our party, we had to seek them out to get water or order, and they charged me 3 times, voided two of them, got a fraud alert and then the Manager demanded I prove to him they'd triple charged me. The least they could have done is comp a glass of wine or something, but they were super rude about getting every penny. The charges were voided finally, but wow. They couldn't have been more terrible at service and I was stunned that they wanted proof they'd messed it up so much (I had to show them my online bank pending charges, which is super invasive).
I only recommend 2 Indian restaurants in the valley. Bombay Grill is one of them. Also... Listen closely... Get! The! But! Ter! Chick! En!
My favorite Indian food in town! The staff is friendly, the owners are amazing, and the food is the BEST!! The lunch buffet has great options and everything is super fresh and tasty.
Absolutely stellar authentic Indian food. Students eat for just $7.00!
I can’t find words for how great this place is. The food is out of this world, staff is top notch, and the atmosphere is so cozy. I will be back 100 times over!!
Well worth the drive from Caldwell just to eat here. Authentic and delicious!
Delicious. Definitely recommend if you like spicy or ethnic foods
I love the lunch buffet!!!
Best Indian food in Boise area. Took my sister and her boyfriend to dinner. We shared a chef's dinner and added an order of butter chicken and garlic naan. We all ate a fantastic meal and brought home dinner for tomorrow. The staff are great and very friendly. We have eaten here several times and food is always fantastic and you feel like family. We will be back!
Solid Indian lunch buffet. A bit crowded and hectic at peak time, however.
Their buffet special is awesome
First time, visiting. Lunch time is buffet. Food choices & quality is very good. Excellent family run staff. Will be visiting again!
Excellent lunch Buffet. As always Mr. Singh does a wonderful job. I luv this place & the family that owns it
Always good
A wonderful Indian restaurant with a great buffet. With a great location I go here at least twice a week.
Lunch buffet was great. First time trying Indian food, loved it!
Out of town, wandering downtown Boise. Enjoy Indian food, so I stopped for a lunch buffet to go. Good selection and reasonable price. Very helpful staff and generously gave me an extra container for yogurt sauce, plus a container of mukwas! Food was yummy!
Food is very tasty, but more drink options desired.
Thank you Bombay Grill for a wonderful tasty buffet Punjabi (north) Indian traditional lunch. Nothing was too much trouble from baking a roti for me in place of the nan bread. All the veggie dishes were tasty. The masala chai ( tea) with rice pudding capped off a great stay in Boise. Best wishes, Santokh Chima, London, UK.
I just enjoyed one of the best meals in my life!! It was all delicious. A mixed veggies appetizer, and a vegetarian combo platter from the back of the menu. The service was great and the atmosphere was perfect for relaxation. Thanks!! I highly recommend.
Good lunch buffet. Reasonable price.
Bombay catered an event for us last weekend and it was perfect. They brought the food to us, set everything up, had signs for the food and were so helpful and nice. The food was terrific and everyone loved it. We will certainly ask them to cater again. Thank you Bombay!
Bombay has the best Indian food I've found in the Boise area. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice atmosphere in the old Idanha building. The lunch buffet is a good way to try a lot of their foods, although the spice level is toned down a bit for the gringos. Love their butter chicken.
Great food, great atmosphere. Lots of choices and friendly staff. One of my Boise faves.
Customized Indian food for local people...
Great food! Authentic! And delicious! Very nice environment and great customer service. I wish more places were like this. It's a must try! Especially the lunch Buffett!
Ate here for the first time last week. Enjoyed the two lamb dished we had a lot. Nice service. All good!
We are regulars here for their Buffet. So delicious!
Had the buffet for lunch - everything was excellent. Tried Tandoori chicken, butter chicken, tikka masala, and the vindaloo lamb curry. The naan was soft and delicious as well. Worth every penny!
We found it mediocre and expensive. Everything tasted the same and was lacking spice/flavor. Mostly sauce and little actual substance like meat or veggies. My husband and I went to celebrate and were really excited about going and pretty disappointed when we left. $90 I won't spend again.
This place is a gem in downtown Boise. The lunch buffet is amazing!! The butter chicken curry is my favorite, but everything on the buffet is good. It always nice to end the meal with their chi tea which is included in the lunch. It’s a great bargain.
I've only been here for the lunch buffet but it's such a killer deal. Amazing food for such a low price and all you can eat! All the workers have been very friendly to me and my family every time we've visited. Highly recommended!
Good food delivered
Their service is one of the best, you will not be disappointed. If you are really hungry, their lunch buffet will satiate you. It's a good place for dinner as well.
Great customer service! I have had Indian food all over the world, the best I have ever had was in London..this is up there. Trust me you are not going to get any better in the treasure valley! Most Indian buffets down play the spice to accomadate the weak of heart..not these guys. The food is bursting with Authentic Indian flavor with every bite. I give them a 10 out of 5 stars...Thank you Bombay Grill!
The host is very friendly and makes you feel great. The food is very tasty and tastes like authentic Indian food. If you plan to visit Boise this place is a must go!!
Fantastic authentic Indian food, great buffet for $10. Dining room is small and usually packed, prepare for a short wait.
Excelent food very nice friendly people the food is amazing to the last bite
Delicious food and amazing naan. Very cozy atmosphere and fair prices. Butter chicken is money.
Buffet, but nothing like other buffets I've been to. Very delicious, staff is friendly. Naan isn't very warm, but everything else is good. I recommend it.
Very good Indian food. We gave it 4 stars because the food is so tasty and the people are nice. The environment is nice. They have a lunch buffet.
Better Indian food choices in the valley, though not unpleasant.
Good ambiance
Average Indian fare. The Panner Tikka was doused in ketchup. The Kashmiri Naan was stuffed with coconut despite the fact that the menu had no mention of coconut. My companion had a sheekh kebab and did not have any great reaction either
This place is amazing! The food is better than any of the Indian food we have in Portland. The dishes are fresh, rich, spicy, and lovingly made -- you can taste in each bite that the chef/owner cooks with all his heart.
One of the best North Indian food you could find in states. I’ve been to hundreds of different Indian restaurants in India, texas, California, New York and this by far is one of the best.
This is the best lunch deal in town and the service is great. A locally owed family restaurant with vegetarian options.
Fantastic food, great service, always a pleasant experience!
A great spot to get your Indian fix! I would definitely check the lunch buffet as they give you the best variety of food. The lamb is very good!
Avoid! There are other indian places better than this place. I am really concerned about the Carelessness of the managers. Sweets gone stale, so does the other item. Rice was dry and crispy not fluffy. Even after I told them they do not seem to care. I won't go there again. What a shame! This was my personal experience on a weekend lunch buffet.
This is my favorite place in Boise for Indian cuisine. The lunch buffet is a great deal. Their butter chicken is a must try item!
Food is good . Don't expect a india test here.
I don’t care what anyone says, this is the best Indian food in Boise! Ive gone to every Indian place in town and nothing comes close. Not only that, I’ve had Indian across the United States and this place is in the top 2! Not only is it delicious, but the people who work there are incredibly welcoming. I would recommend this place to everyone.
Delicious food and great service.
Best Indian food in Boise. The lunch buffett is great.
Delicious food and awesome service!
Food is good. Unfortunately when I explicitly asked if there were peanuts, cashews or pistachios because our daughter has a nut allergy. The waiter assurred me there were only almonds....less then a minute into her first bite we found that was a lie. I rushed her out of there while the rest of the family finished eating. They are lucky we didn't sue them for our daughtets pain amd sufferring. I recently watched a show about how many Indian food restuarants lie on their menus about almonds and to save costs use peanuts. The menu may be inncorrect and the waiter may of had no idea the owner was skimping on the almonds and buying cheaper peanuts. Either way they are on our no #!$@+×÷=% way list. When someone says no nuts take them serious. One day you might end up killing someone.
