Asylum was a great place to stop and get drinks and food after a snorkeling excursion. I told the gentleman what type of beer I liked and he recommended a certain beer that was quite good. The gentleman was also comedic to the patrons as well. Thanks again and love the mugs.

With all the bars around the world, and I had to walk into Asylum! I'm so pleased I did. Spectacular selection of beer, we are talking $3.50 a pint! Bar staff funny, witty and helpful. Other patrons sitting around welcoming and interesting... This is the bar you've been looking for. If it wasn't thousands of miles away from home, I'd be a very regular. Our cruise ship had a limited selection of beer so at our first stop we had to find a bar. The staff was very friendly and we each got a beer we loved. For me, an IPA, and my husband a stout. We don't normally visit bars in the morning at home so this was a different experience. Prices are better than home and great to try local beer.

Cruising Booze Hounds, listen up: If you want a beer in Ketchikan, hang a left off the dock and go through the tunnel. Less than a block further on the right is Asylum. $3.50 pints, and that's the "good stuff" from Alaskan Brewing Co. It's an easy 10-minute stumble back to the boat. You're welcome.

Only Alaskan beers were from Alaska Brewing which you can get anywhere, and are far from exceptional beers. Two Washington State beers which weren't worth hauling all the way up to Ketchican. Should definitely improve their tap selection.

Love this place!!!! Great selection, Fantastic (with a capital F) service! Just a short walk from the cruise ships. This is the one place in Ketchikan you need to be able to say you went to. KJ, one of the bartenders, is absolutely charming. He gave me a sweet pen with a stylus on one end. This place makes me want to come back to Ketchikan! Also you can totally get a great beer at 8:30 AM and somehow not feel like you have a problem :D

Loud and fun Was about to give three stars, but Harry rang the bell in jest and bought us all a round, which is a great local rule. I'm on a work contract visiting Asylum at 4pm on a Thursday. It's a nice place but full of locals right now that don't seem to want to meet anyone new, except Carlos, a bartender, who made me feel welcome. Beer that is local and cheap but nothing special

We were on an Alaskan cruise in Ketchikan. While there, we asked a local where to eat and drink. SOOOOO, they pointed us to Asylum and Burger Queen. First of all, inexpensive craft beer was served, alongside some of the best burgers we've ever had. Expensive places can eat their hearts out. The owner and bar tender and a couple of the locals were absolutely hilarious and fun to be around. We had a great time, great drinks, and awesome food.

Love this place. Friendly bar staff and atmosphere. With cheap beer, everything on draft is$3.50, and there is the free food on Monday and Friday. They have a Dj on Friday and Saturday nights for dancing. Incredibly well put together establishment.

I liked this joint. The beer is prob the cheapest in town, $3.50 / pint! And it tastes good too. Carlos, the owner, must keep his taps clean. As opposed to Jeremiah's in the Best Western, not only is the beer 60% more expensive, but it tastes like crap. I had the same beer, Alaskan Black IPA, which was awesome at The Asylum, and 15 min later, at Jeremiah's the same tasted like really awful! At the Asylum, Carlos or his wife will get you food delivered from the Burger Queen, next door. I had wings and fries. Both were great. Their wings are dry but quite spicy!
