Choosing James Erick Photography was such a great decision! Right away, we could tell that it would be a good experience because he was accommodating and answered all of my questions over the phone - and I had a lot of them! We saw a major difference between the quality of his work versus other photographers. He was extremely professional, always early to the photo shoots, and worked quickly and effectively to get the most pictures within the time limit, without making us feel rushed at all. We felt comfortable and relaxed the whole time, and we're not usually the most photogenic people, so that's saying something. He was also open to our specific desires and made sure that he completely understood our vision. We got way more pictures than we had anticipated and had a hard time choosing favorites because they were all so stunning! Then, there's the price- I couldn't believe how good of a deal it was, and I was a little nervous at first because it seemed too good to be true. But it was everything I could have hoped for and more! We got over a hundred pictures for each hour, plus special editing to all of those. They were ready within a week, and he even went back and edited something else that we requested afterwards and had it back to us within a day. My top priority with the wedding budget was good photography, and I am so glad that I found James in an online search. I don't know how I could have done better with any other photographer.

James Erick is phenomenal! Not only was he friendly and professional, but his work is gorgeous! He was the most expensive part of my wedding (being about $1800 for engagements, bridals, 5 hours on wedding day, and a professionally done photo album) but he was definitely worth every penny and I still believe we got him for a steal ;). He was punctual, courteous, and made sure to get the pictures I specifically asked for. He's very experienced and definitely knows what he's doing. The photos always came to us REALLY fast (less than a week for all of them) but the work never looked rushed. I would recommend him to any couple in the future! It's no wonder he's in high demand.

He shot my brother-in-law’s wedding last year, so when I was looking for wedding photographers I knew I wanted to hire him because I had heard nothing but good things about him, and I loved the photos he shot from their wedding. It had been raining all morning on our wedding day, and James offered to do a bride and groom session for us at a later date if the rain didn’t let up (which it did, and the pictures look AMAZING). He didn’t end up using our full time, so he offered to give us photo print credit with the remaining time. Maybe that’s a common thing for photographers to do, but I thought it was very impressive that he wanted to make sure we got our money’s worth and had a good experience. He’s very friendly and easy to work with, and my family and friends are still telling me how nice our photographer was. He also got our edited photos back to us in less than a week, which is just amazing. If you want someone who is affordable, super talented, and fun to work with I would highly recommend you contact James.

James was great to work with. He did our engagements, my bridals, and our wedding day. I was a bit hesitant with doing our engagements at Antelope Island because I was looking for a lot of color in my photos but he vouched for it and I am glad he did. The photos were vibrant and beautiful! For my bridals, I took another one of his suggestions and went up to Memory Grove and once again, I got some of the prettiest pictures I have ever seen. He also was so patient with me because our original date for bridals was rescheduled due to the threat of rain and it ended up never raining that day... Last, our wedding day, he was there early, took charge of the photos, and was oh so patient when we had to wait for family members to come down from the waterfall to get a photo. Not only did he take gorgeous photos but he was extremely quick in getting them back to us. We went on our honeymoon for 7 days and the next day after getting back, he had our photos ready. I absolutely LOVE our wedding day photos. James is a great photographer and even better to work with.

He was on time and knew his way around a wedding, he was on task and seemed to be everywhere at once, even with the impromptu schedule changes he was able to capture every moment. We opted not to have a videographer and have no regrets, James captured every moment from start to finish, including great photos of our guests and family. James was also willing to do a little hiking to take some amazing engagement photos. We got our edited photos back quickly both times and couldn't be happier. James was FANTASTIC! After seeing all his super high reviews I was a little curious how he was THAT good. Well, he was! He went to the location we chose the morning of to make sure the wild flowers were still out (a 40 minute drive one way for him). When we met up with him that night, it was windy and he said we could reschedule if we wanted to because he wanted to make us happy. Woah! Who does that!? We ended up taking the chance that night and it turned out gorgeous! He had all our pictures to us within a few days, max 2 weeks for the wedding day photos. He called ahead to confirm all the details which was great because they had changed and I had forgot to tell him. He showed up 40 minutes early to our bridals just in case there was traffic. I chose a location and he did the research to find out there were currently TONS of HUGE spiders all around, creating webs we would have to walk through. Needless to say, we changed locations. James was awesome to work with! He was great at placing everyone and taking control as the photographer! We loved him, his pricing, his willingness to go above and beyond, and doing all he can to make us happy. He succeeded! We loved him and highly recommend him!

There were a few group shots with one odd ball out (hand placement or shirt tucking) so I recommend trying to be cognizant of those things and asking him to make sure everything is uniform. Overall, we liked the photos and the price was reasonable!

I was the bride at the photo shoot in Murray Park. There was a woman there who was very upset about what she called a bird house. However, from our perspective it did look like it was just a piece of a cardboard box hung with a piece of string from a branch. It was in the way of the picture we were taking. James, went and knocked it down. We didn't think anything of it until the woman approached us about it. She was very upset about it. We didn't know it was a bird house, otherwise we wouldn't have knocked it down. I'm sorry to the woman who is so upset about it, however, James didn't mean any harm at all. There were no birds anywhere near the cardboard box at the time. James is very professional and I have been impressed with his work.

Arranging the details with him was really easy; he answered our questions perfectly and promptly, and his pricing model is as simple as it gets (not to mention affordable). And his work during and after the event was phenomenal. The day of the wedding, he was spectacular. He was punctual and on task, and he knew exactly what to do and where to make the most of our time. He is very detail-oriented; several times he noticed group spacing being off, or a person in the group had hair in their face, or someone forgot to take off sunglasses. Not only did he notice those details, he was able to address them quickly, tactfully, and sometimes with a little joke here or there. He took care of all of the details and planning and thinking necessary for the photos to be successful so that we didn't have to worry about it for a single moment. That's exactly what we wanted, and he absolutely delivered. We got our edited photos back within a week. They were incredible! We are so impressed with the quality and quantity of the photos. I had the displeasure of meeting this photographer at Murray Park. His pictures seemed pretty, as he was taking pictures of a bride in the park. I asked for his name after he took a branch and beat a bird house out of a tree with it. When I advised him that the park is public area and he just destroyed an active birdhouse he said it was a cardboard box and told me 'buh bye' while shooing me away like a dog. Not a good person.

Did a great job, worked well, knew what he was doing, and the pictures turned out great! There were a few shots with a shirt or hand misplaced, but other than that I loved the pictures. He was extremely fast in getting the pictures back to me (couple of days!) and was friendly and good at managing groups.

Quick to respond to questions when they came up. He and his wife arrived early to the location and went right to work taking photos! She was very helpful in fixing my dress and setting up the photos. He stayed out the way during the ceremony, but got the photos he needed to. He was very good about directing the family pictures following the ceremony while giving us freedom to get the pictures we wanted. He was upfront about which locations would and wouldn't make good pictures based on lighting, so we didn't linger in areas that wouldn't make great photos. Edited photos were available online after just 1 week! The photos he takes are truly breathtaking! Thanks James!

We did a Bride and Groom photo shoot. I have never had a professional photographer and thought it would be boring, awkward and frustrating. It was actually allot of fun. James is willing to take risk and experiment with different angles and various positions. The photos came back amazing much better than anything i could have imagined. He made it fun and due to experience he knew the layout of the area we wanted to shoot at within an hour we had taken a picture at every location worth taking a photo. He also made it fun and feel casual, i couldn't recommend this guy more and I've already recommenced him to everyone I know that needs a photographer.
