Well seeing this place from both sides of the spectrum I came in about a year ago and was on Medicaid and I got the usual heres your box of certain frames let me know when youve made a choice. No help or suggesting on type I should get. Now coming in a year later with my wife who has insurance I have never seen customer service like this with all the ins and outs and haves and have nots of picking the right frames. Now I understand my selection was a lot smaller then hers but still there was a noticeable difference in customer service between some one who has insurance and some one who is on assistance

William Troxel

Had eye surgery thru here with Dr Fuller. 10 stars for care, service and results.

Very unprofessional, and terribly ran business. I've been in there multiple times and people were on their phones and being rude to other staff members. As a Business Owner, I can tell you that the manager needs to take control, coordinate with other team members, and there needs to be a lot more mutual respect given to co-workers and patrons. I for one will never return to this chaotic and poorly ran office. I would also encourage others to go elsewhere if seeking respect, kindness, competence, and place willing to accommodate the customers that keep the doors open for that lousy disgrace of a business. Get your stuff together, if you intend to keep return clientele.

Waited in plain view of both glorified receptionist for a good 45 minutes. Finally got up and asked them what was the hold up, only to be told that I needed to check in with them when I got there. When I asked why they didn't let me know this when I arrived, I was told its "not there responsibility". Then I had to be rescheduled and apparently their nearest available opening was 3 weeks out. Poor service and poor attitude all around, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Dr. Delzer has been taking care of my family's eyes for several years now. He's great with my grade-school-age children. Some doctors aggressively suggest you get lots of work done even though you don't really need it for health reasons - Dr. Delzer is *not* like that. He's very thorough, explains all your options, then lets you decide. I appreciate that.

I've had cataract surgery on both eyes a decade ago with Dr Zamber, who is not only the consummate professional, but has a true heart for the poor. He takes time off and travels to third world countries with staff to take care of people whose lives depend on being able to see -- fishermen and other outdoor workers -- who have suffered cataracts from overexposure to UV radiation which has increased over the past decades. My family all have received care from various doctors, with only praise to offer. My daughter's glasses need adjustment on a monthly basis, and the techs seem happy to see us, they fix Ani's bent frames, replace her nose pieces, and generally advise us on best options and best practices. Five stars!

Paige LaPoint

I preface this by saying that I never write reviews, but this place had some of the worst customer service I've experienced. Save your time and go elsewhere. I waited nearly TWO HOURS to have my eyes dilated. Two hours! Are you kidding?! It's taken over 24 hours to get in contact with someone who can give me additional information on my prescription! I just am so unimpressed. Save yourself the unnecessary frustration.

Great experience. Knowledgeable and helpful doctors and professional staff.

Pamela Gum

From the second I entered the building, I was greeted with smiles and offers to help. My actual appointment was today and the entire staff was absolutely delightful!!

Nichole Mae

This is hands down the WORST place to go to for eye care. They are rude. often don't get your prescription right. Over charge you for terrible quality glasses. tell you they cost 1 price then tell you that you them 500+ dollars after already charging me 160$ for them

Mea Detter

None of the receptionists know how to do their job so don’t trust them with their answers. Went here and now have to pay $400 when I was informed otherwise by 3 different people BEFORE my appointment. And no one is willing to make things right. Very disappointed in this place.

Shelby Molina

This place is extremely busy and chaotic inside. I waited about two hours after my appointment and was extremely frustrated. I did not have a very pleasant experience and I don't plan on coming back. The staff keep calling me and calling me to make an appointment when I told them I wasn't interested.

Sasha Frailey Afanasyev

Everything is wonderful and amazing!

Alex-Irina Dyachuk

Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Made my very first eye experience a knowledgable one. Definitely going there for furture service.

worst place to go, same thing at a different eye clinic 100$ and he came in out of business hours, 647$ here, do not recommend for anyone steer clear. 1 hour 30 minues of waiting 10 minutes of service, other than that they were nice people.

Mark Matthews

Brought in my mother in law to pickup her glasses. Kinda slow with helping us. But other than that, great.

Kevin Burns,sr.

They keep my eye's in good condition..

Nathan Andersen

They apparently don't take my insurance which they did not bother to tell me when I showed up and handed them my insurance card. So now I'm on the hook for both the eye exam and the glasses that would have been covered 100% if I just went somewhere else. The best I could get out of them is a sorry we didn't tell you we don't bill your insurance.

Leah Bower

The asshat of a doctor, last name Giles, just sent my toddler-toting friend home in tears after staff assured her it was FINE if she brought her child with her to an eye appointment. You should be ASHAMED! The child didn't misbehave mid-exam. Instead, after she checked with the office to make sure it was ok, he flat-out refused to see her when she showed up with her kid.

I have bought several pairs of glasses at the Eye Clinic over the years. Both the customer service and quality of the glasses are excellent at the Optical Shop in the Eye Clinic. The entire staff there is very helpful and professional. Robert Nowicki has helped my family through the process of buying 5 pairs of glasses. Not only does he make sure to explain the choices and walk us through the process in an efficient way, but he also understands what frames really do fit our lifestyle and fashion sense and makes great recommendations! It's always a pleasure to go to the Eye Clinic.

Margaret R

Horrible, do not take your family here! My horrible experience of my life,I'm beyond shocked at the treatment I've been given here! I called for my eye glass information, as my glasses are broken and I suffer from extreme migraines without wearing them(well besides the issue of not being able to SEE) NOPE, sure they can give you an appointment a MONTH AWAY!! Are you serious????? You wont let me have MY own medical records and you cant get me in so I can order my glasses for a MONTH!? How can you treat people so disrespectfully, the way the receptionist spoke to me on top of it, I have zero idea how you can say you HELP PEOPLE! Never have I been treated so horribly before.

When I called and scheduled my appointment I asked if they were in-network for Aetna/VSP. I was told that they are. As such, I went in expecting to be charged a small co-pay and to be able to get new glasses at my leisure from an outside source. When I checked in for my appointment I was told that my insurance was fine, but that they had to double check with someone in the back about the co-pay amount. Since I'd been told they were in-network I thought nothing of it, knowing from my insurance benefits documents that the exam co-pay was $10. Confident in what I'd been told, I went ahead and had the exam. After the exam I was informed that my insurance covered 20% of the exam cost, and that I was on the hook for the remaining $360. When I remarked that my understanding of my coverage was different, I was informed that if I bought glasses that same day the co-pay for the exam would be $50. Fortunately some of the glasses components were reduced price because of my insurance, so a new pair of glasses plus the exam ended up being $400. Since I was stuck paying them $360 either way, I opted to pay the small amount more for glasses (which I would have had to buy anyway, although I'd been planning on using a cheaper, online option). After my appointment I checked with Aetna and found out that this clinic is NOT, in fact, in-network. Clearly I should have checked with Aetna first, but I figured I was safe relying on the fact that A) this clinic was in-network the last time I had an exam and B) their staff verified that they were in-network when I called and asked. Lesson learned. As a side note, while I was checking out I overheard the gentleman beside me arguing with the front desk staff. Apparently he'd been in a few weeks earlier for an emergency appointment, and was charged for both the emergency exam and a routine annual exam. They had then scheduled him in for another routine annual exam, and were going to charge him for it again if he hadn't said something. I will give the clinic positives for the exam staff and the optical shop staff, who were all very friendly. However, this isn't enough to make up for my having to pay 40 times more than I'd been told would be due on the say of service, let alone to cover the extra hour of time off from work that the glasses-buying process took. I'll be going somewhere else next time.

Lauren Muinde

Dr. Delzer was excellent in putting my 4 year old at ease!

Tija Hunter

First appointment was great. As a new patient with worrying symptoms I was able to get an appointment the same day. However, with my follow-up appointment I waited forever. It took 20 minutes to be seen AFTER a 15 minute early check-in requirement so I sat there for 35 minutes. I will never check-in early again.

Kathren Smith

I am not a big fan going to any kind of doctor but the staff here is amazing they always make me feel so welcome and her so easy to be around they make having to deal with medical issues a breeze. I truly appreciate that in a facility and I think the staff of Eye Clinic of Fairbanks

George Howard

The Dr. is very caring and compassionate. I make regular visits to this clinic for a medical issue and I am always treated warmly. I highly recommend them.

Samantha Sunday

Way over priced and not honest. I scheduled here instead of my normal place because they said my eye exam would be around $250 dollars. My bill came in the mail for $500. They refuse to give me any sort of discount even though they misquoted me by half. $500 for a 10 minute exam is absurd. Save your money and frustrations and go somewhere else.

The lady then try do charge me a late fee because it was past time. I had to argue with her. Everybody treated me incredibly rude. We'll never go back.

Very friendly, knowledgeable and extremely friendly staff, wouldn't go anywhere else

I went in for an eye exam to get an updated prescription for my glasses. They ended up taking a picture of the (it's basically a) "freckle" in my right retina. They told me it would be covered under my vision plan as necessary care. Nope. $368 for A picture.

Elizabeth Hanby

First of all they talked me into having an exam I initially thought was unnecessary, and it turned out to be (everything was fine). Secondly they talked me into a different brand of contacts and didn't tell me it would take some expensive upkeep or else they would be unwearable. Last and most importantly they botched my prescription, even after a second visit. I'm seeing blurry out of one eye and since I moved out of state it can't be fixed. I have been wearing corrective lenses (glasses and/or contacts) for 43 years and have never had any of these problems.

I recently made an appointment with Dr Fulk and he was great. He helped me find solutions for my dry eye, I highly recommend him and this clinic.

The dr and assistants in the back of the office were great! The front of the office was not. There was a payment issue on my account going back three years, which I vaguely remember and thought had been dealt with. My account was messed up and a woman was assisting the trainee in trying to fix this issue. This woman was quite short and rude with me and I did not catch her name, I asked her to sign my receipt in order for me to follow up at a later day. In giant letters she scribbled her initials and they were not legible. I asked her again to sign it and make it legible. She did and I took it and had my appointment. After I left I was looking over my paperwork and saw that she scribbled over the first scribble and neither are legible, I asked someone else to look at it for me and they could not read it either. I had to call to get her name and she was reluctant to give it to me and once again rude, before finally saying her name was Kathleen, and from the scribble her last name starts with an S I believe. She was snotty and quick to try and transfer me to her supervisor who I am assuming would not do anything. Doctors have always been great but the front is routinely not seeing as my issue was not resolved from 2016. Only went because my new insurance does not cover Clear View Optometry who has always had fantastic front office staff.

I was just in to The Eye Clinic of Fairbanks for the first time to have a small piece of metal removed from my eye. Unfortunately, this happens for/to me on a relatively regular basis so I've had this experience before but at different facilities. Today was the most pleasant and quick experience I have ever had to remove a very bothersome little piece of irritation. From the young lady who checked me in, to the young lady asking questions, to the young lady who took out the metal, and finally the young lady who took my gladly made payment, all were kind, efficient, attentive, and professional. Thank you very much!

Charge my wife 380 dollars that they said was covered by insurance. They admitted it was there fault but said we still owed it. Our family will not be returning to them. Shameful how they do business. Later they did get back with us. They said they had made a mistake. We will see what comes of it.

If you want a good eye doctor, go to this place. They are the best in town.

Josiah Clark

I had a very bad experience with Eye Clinic of Fairbanks. I do not recommend them to anyone. I highly recommend Dr. Steve Page who is located in the Fairbanks Sam's Club.

Stephanie Barney

Went into the Eye Clinic of Fairbanks for a very overdue eye exam. Dr.Fulk was professional explained my options in detail. My prescription is great and my eyes finally aren’t sore anymore! Then A week later my son got scraped in the eye by a coat zipper from a classmat. We saw Dr.Fulk again and he had amazing children skills. My son felt comfortable and talked to him the whole time. I am very pleased and will continue to take my kids and myself to him!

My experience from the start was terrible. Upon arriving I over hear an employee explaining to a patient "that they're not trying to make her life difficult." This should have been a sign to turn and leave. I go ahead to the front desk to check in at my scheduled appointment time to be greeted by the front desk girl who was smacking away on her bubble gum. She gave me a new patient form, at the same time she took my ID/insurance card for copies, which is fine, fairly routine. I handed her back the form and she tells me, rather rudely, I did not complete all the forms. I informed her I completed what she gave me. She then realizes she forgot to give me 2 additional forms to fill out. After the forms are completed, I sit and wait for another 30 minutes, with no explanation why. The actual eye exam was good, doctor very professional. After the exam is done, they send me over to the girl to help with contacts. Which of course, the eye doc, give me a pair that I don't usually wear. I ask her what is the cost for these contacts as I'm on a budget. She tells me she doesn't know. I asked her who can answer my question. She said the front desk when you check out. After the eye doc, checks my contacts and tells me were all done I ask again who can go over the cost of these new contacts. "Front Desk" I am told Again! I go up to the front desk to check out, after waiting about 10 minutes the girl informs me she does billing and can not answer my question about cost of contacts! Now at this point I am here in the clinic about 1 1/2 already. She tells me that I can make my appointment for the contact check up next week, which is another $55 and not covered by my insurance and they will tell me then. I pretty much loose my cool now. I asked her why do I need to pay more when my insurance covers the cost of the exam up to $300 and why no one can tell me how much per box is the new contact lenses given to me. She tells me, the girl (whose sitted next to her can answer that) if I wait until she is finished she can help me. Another 10-15 minutes go by and I ask someone if they can just have someone call me to let me know how much the contacts are, they say okay! She also informs me that Wednesday's are there busy day. I leave and think someone will be calling soon. After 4 hours, a girl calls me back, she tells me she isn't able to tell me how much the box of contact lenses are, they will only be able to answer that at my next appointment time. I asked her then when can I make the appointment. At this point I just wanted to be done with this office. The person I was speaking with put me on hold for 15 minutes, then a different person picked up. She had no idea why I was on the phone, was rude when I asked her why she is asking me for all my information again, including my SSN. She got very short with me and gave me the next appointment time, then disconnected the call without even saying good bye or anything. I was thinking, really, did this person just hang up on me? A paying customer, how very professional of her. Now I've worked in customer service for years, and this treatment I received was the worst I was ever experienced. While waiting for my next appointment, in which, I've been wearing glasses/contacts for about 20 years now. I realize it is typical for the optometrist to give you a "newer, better" pair of contacts to try out, aka more expensive. I also know that you need a recheck a week or so after you get the contacts to make sure all is going well. What I have never experience is a place of business not being able to tell me the cost! I went to Fred Myer's later that day and inquired the cost of the contacts and my usual brand, which they gave me right away. I will be having my script filled at Fred Myers and not be returning to the Eye Clinic. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!

Doctors and contacts/glasses department are 5 stars... the receptionists are some of the rudest people I've ever met (hence 1 star removed). Sadly these are the people you have to deal with to get to the great professionals.

Expect to spend 2-3 hours waiting to be helped, then another 30 mins to an hour just ordering glasses. If you have seen Zootopia, this place is the dmv and they have sloths working here.

Terrible. Been to see Dr. Folk twice, charged almost $500.00 and still didn't get relief for my eyes. I went by to see if I could get a prescription eye drop, he was on vacation so they just left him a "note". Still haven't heard back from him or anyone. I've called twice and been put on hold for over 10 minutes both times. So i requested my records and still haven't received those either.

I had a very bad experience with Eye Clinic of Fairbanks. I do not recommend them to anyone. I highly recommend Dr. Steve Page who is located in the Fairbanks Sam's Club.
