Great to learn about Laura Ingalls Wilder. Being from MN we knew about her connection to us but it was neat to hear about the Wisconsin connection and history. Nice museum. Not too big but very informative.

I honestly did not know much about Laura Ingalls Wilder expect for the books she wrote. This museum provided a great way to start my family's journey into Laura Ingalls Wilder's life and the story behind it. The museum provided insight into the early life of Laura along with demonstrating what life would have been like during Laura's time. Even though it is small the museum does contain some items owned by the family. Be sure to also get directions to the replica cabin (Little House in the Big Woods). This spot is a great starting point to follow the journey the family took and the places and experiences that inspired Laura's books.

I wish this place was better , I had such high hopes coming here.

There are no specific hours, visitors center, office, employees or volunteers. That is to say, if it is daylight you can visit. Plenty of parking. 7 miles from town. Note that the entire site includes: 1) house 2) sign 3) inoperative well 4) picnic tables 5) porta potty That is it. Nothing fancy.

Loved it but I'm a huge little house fan

A neat museum and interactive for younger kids and older kids as well. Our younger kids enjoyed playing in the “Steamboat” and putting on a bonnet before going to the “schoolhouse”. Our older teenage kids worked on their cursive writing and history of Pepin and Laura Ingalls Wilder. The sweet lady teaching the writing demonstration was so friendly, fun, and full of information! She was one of our favorite parts of the museum!! What a sweet little place to visit and worth the $14 visit for our family of 6.

It was a nice stop on the way to the little house wayside. Might be a good idea to have directions to the museum posted at the wayside. I had a lot of people ask me how to get here. Said they couldn't find it.

LHOP FOREVER! Wonderfully curated and I learned a lot of stuff I didn't know before. Stellar gift shop. Bought a kit to make my own Susan, the corncob doll wrapped in a handkerchief. Susan's a good doll. It's not her fault she's only a cornncob.

A large museum dedicated to Laura Ingalls Wilder, writer of the "Little House" book series. Numerous original artifacts from their nearby homestead, and others from the period.

A nice mixture of Laura Ingalls Wilder and local history.

A pretty decent little museum. It is too bad there aren't many Ingalls artifacts available to museums. There are some beat activities here for the little ones.

If you're already in the area, great, but don't make a special trip. It seems as though they took everything they could find with a little age on it and threw it in the museum. They do have two quilts, one that was Laura's and one that might have been hers or her daughter's, but everything else was just old.

Layne boldon

Not much here, but the gentleman working was kind and very informative.

Not a real review as I was unable to visit the museum. Even though it it says it is open until 5 we drove 30 minutes to learn it does not open until May 1, 2019. Guess we will have to come back.

Fun and educational for the whole family! Our boys loved playing on the big steam boat and in the classroom. We all enjoyed reading and learning about earlier life in Pepin, WI as well as life in the Ingalls family. Seeing letters written by Laura, quilts that belonged to her were really fascinating! Staff here is so kind and thoughtful, they answered so many questions we had, and even helped us when one of our boys forgot a beloved stuffed puppy at the museum and they mailed it back to us! We highly recommend visiting!

Such a sweet little museum with loving, enthusiastic docents. They don't have many of LIW's original possessions. Great museum depicting early white pioneer life. Well worth the stop with a nifty gift shop and great children's area. Nice bathrooms and well worth your time.

Such a cute place. I had no idea it existed before driving the great river road. I loved all of the history. Sadly, since the Ingalls traveled with most of their things, there isn't really anything that belonged to Laura in the museum. But that was okay. Still worth it.
