Love how in this modern world this museum really shows how far we have come, and makes you realize how lucky we are to be where we are today because of the hard work and perseverance of our ancestors.

What a great educational place to take the family! This free (donations greatly appreciate) museum has a lot of exhibit for any age. From my couple years of stopping in, the museum always has rotating exhibits and currently (Aug 2019) have some really interesting exhibits outside! This place also has really good parking down by the water! Pack a picnic and take the family there for some fun!

This little museum is really perfect for Bayfield. It's small, but perfect. Tells the history of the area, the islands, and much of the finishing industry. It also has many hands on exhibits which are interesting and entertaining for everyone. Would highly recommend stopping in for a quick visit if in the area.

Nice low key museum where you can quickly learn the history of the area and see some cool artifacts. the attendant was friendly and full of interesting stories!

Jason Suleski

Very nice maritime history of the area. It's free with a place for donation. We gave $5 for out group of 5. This stop is a 5 to 10 min walk from the main areas of Bayfield. So it's worth the time to take a quick tour and take in the history. Total Time in the museum will take you as little as 10 mins to 1 hour if you read everything. Conclusion: it's worth a stop and it's free.

Carroll Aasen

Nice small museum. Lots of information about fishing and shipping in this area, plus the volunteers are great to chat with, they know a lot. Super nice space. The sea lamprey in the tank was very ugly and a good way to drive home the impact these non-native species are having on these waters. And it's free!

Tracy Finch

I stood in front of this device ( picture below ) for 2 minutes and trying to figure out what it is. A man came up to me and ask , do you know what it is? I have no idea, Sir. So he told me ...... Well, can't share it with you because I forgot. When you at the museum try to figure this out yourself and leave few dollars.
