Airplanes
Very interesting place if you like aviation history and seeing real and restored planes.
Went there with my brother to see the collection. In particular we wanted to see their P-39, the type of plane our father flew in WWII. It wasn’t busy and the staff allowed us to get into the cockpit. A very special experience for us. Thanks, we really appreciated it!
Beautiful planes and memorabilia
A great museum
Great air Museum
Largest private museum of operating aircraft.
Great collection of historic aircraft
i live in madras and have tried to go to this several different times but their hours are so messed up i can never catch them when they are open, you know thats messed up when you live in the town where the air museum is in.
Spent 3 hours there today, I love it , great information about all the airplanes, some old cars and military vehicles. I say if you got the time take a trip to go see yourself.
An excellent WWII collection, all flyable, with discounted pricing for seniors and vets!
Spend on afternoon enjoying all the planes. Found this site by accident while wandering thru Oregon and saw they had a P-38 my favorite. Need a schedule to see it fly. Rate it a +10 in my book.
Nice place. Some great old aircraft and the displays are helpful too. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable.
Great collection, love the info boards
(Translated by Google) I loved the show and the exhibition (Original) Me encantó el show y la exhibición
We love this museum! The staff is always friendly. The collection is not huge, but there are new things to see and learn every time we go.
Had a great time at the air show
I have taken my three year old son here numerous times. He loves this place
Great collection of warbirds and similar working planes.
Best collection of ww2 aircraft I have ever seen. All kept it flying and tip top condition.
Most of the aircraft are airworthy. They have a Catalina PBY, my wife's father was a flight engineer on one in WW2. They have other vehicles, engines and memorabilia. Worth a visit and the admission was only $18 for two adults.
Pretty cool place with some awesome history inside!
Fantastic collection of vintage planes and military vehicles. Been twice and can't wait to see it again. :)
What an amazing air show!
Good experience.
Great place to visit, staff helpful, very good descriptions of ww2 aircraft, most restored to be able to fly.
Such a fun place... I know nothing about planes and this was still entertaining.
Me my mom our room mate went too this spaghetti feed for the veterns. Black bear put it on. It was really good. My fiance also went and his brother. He loved the planes.
My timing stunk. Many of their aircraft were participating in an air show out of State. I am from out of state or I might have waited until they had returned and were back on display. The three stars is my own fault for lousy timing... The aircraft that were on display and the information presented was great. The cashier was great and was very informative. I will return at some point in the future. Hopefully with better timing.
Amazing air museum. A total gem, must see if you are in Central Oregon.
Wondetful
They have a wide selection of aircraft. It was great watching them rebuild one of the planes.
Great planes, friendly staff, this is a must see!
Very cool and interesting and informative. We will be back for the air show in August. Thanks
Worth the stop
This place is super cool
If you like War planes, you should definitely check it out.
Enjoyed with my veteran father & son
Warm and welcoming staff and an excellent display that you can walk through and be up close to historic WW 2 airplanes.
Great planes, nice folks
all kinds of awesome planes from WW2. some nice cars. excellent staff!!
TERRIFIC Thanks for keeping our history alive
The air museum is fantastic.
Nice collection of WWII planes and vehicles.
Awesome museum. A must go to place
Good
Very cool museum and no crowds and all planes actually fly.
This is a fine collection of flying as well as statically displayed aircraft, primarily WW2, but a few others also. As an ex Grumman employee, it was fun to see a J2F-6 Duck, FM-1 Martlet (F4F-3 Wildcat), and 2 TBM (TBF) Avengers, among the static aircraft. Apparently the flying aircraft were elsewhere, but are supposed to be back the day before the eclipse. I was lucky enough to catch P-38 leaving Thursday; it made a fabulous low pass over the airport as it left.
This is a great place to visit and as we went out of our way to get there we were not disappointed. We were given a warm welcome from the ticket staff and given a detailed explanation of the aircraft on show we then wandered around the pristine aircraft at our own pace happy in the knowledge that any question would be answered from the staff on duty. I would visit again.
Very awesome meusem
This was a great small aircraft museum. The ladies making dog tags were very good although one of them had to make my tag 6 times. She was cheerful throughout. Nice actually flyable world war 2 aircraft. A nice variety of craft. Some were prior to WW2. A great place to visit for a couple of hours.
Great collection of historic planes that are mostly still operational. Self guided. Open, light and airy hangar showcases the aircraft. Nice gift shop area. All set in the open plains of Madras with Mt. Jefferson as a backdrop.
Great collection
Great exhibit. Kids loved it! Lots to see.
Must see in route to California
Wonderful displays, friendly and knowledge help. Displays have super great information. Lots of history.
Really cool to check out...free entry. Worth a look at the planes. Cool environment.
The staff are helpful, knowledgable and excited about what they have to offer. Their aircraft fly and they are a nice mix of rare vintage Warbirds.
This is an amazing gem out in the middle of seemingly nowhere. There are lots of one of a kind restorations and most of these birds still fly!
World class collection of vintage American WWII era planes.
Good collection of doable aircraft. Since they all do for some planes may be away at an airshow, so call ahead if you want to see a particular aircraft. Each aircraft had a story, and it's historical context is given as well.
Beautiful place if your a plane lover or a lover of history. Great people
An awesome collection of well kept stock. Lots of evidence of meticulous workmanship. Everything was well displayed showing great respect of our aviation n military history. Thank all of you who undertake this effort.
Incredible collection of WWII aircraft and other paraphernalia housed inside a very nice temperature controlled hanger. Receives my highest recommendation.
Some one of a kind planes to see in this collection!
Many neat old war birds and other aviation memorabilia.
Very cool collection of WW2 military aircraft and friendly staff. Well worth the visit.
So awesome to see vintage aircraft that are actually airworthy. If you're in the area and have any interest in aviation and aircraft, you really should go.
Amazing collection of vintage aircraft!! Great place to bring the kids, they love being able to get so close to the planes. We'll be back for sure!
Loved the history.
Great Planes.
A great collection of aircraft, engines and other memorabilia. The people that work here are very nice also.
Awsome
One of the best air museums
Nice size. Excellent organization. Knowledgeable people.
Aircraft!!!
Very nice collection of aircraft, vehicles & memorabilia. The P38 is a favorite of mine, and there's did not disappoint. Although the B17 was not there it just means we'll have to come back!
Very nice collection, well maintained equipment. Bravo to them.
Amazing history here, some rare and unique aircraft, vehicles and historical documents from all over the world. Definitely worth a visit for fellow aircraft admirers.
'A Must Visit for Any Pilot'. A truly remarkable collection of WWII & other aircraft. Make sure to check the hours of operation be you go. During the week and early is the best time to visit to avoid the crowds. There's also a souvenir shop with some fairly nice items.. Super clean and very modern facility. Located at/on the Madras Airport.. Fly-in, land and visit the Museum.
Awesome place with some one of a kind planes!
Great history here.
Spectacular collection of WW2 era military aircraft many of which are in airworthy condition and done are regularly flown. Each aircraft is accompanied with info on the development and deployment. At 9 dollars entry the place is great value.
great small air museum
If you love aircraft and in particular WWII time frame this place is one to stop and check out. It is a little off the beaten path but worth the drive. They have done an exceptional job at restoring the aircraft. There isn’t a lot of information on each plane but enough to give you some info about it. We didn’t see anyone there that actually works on the planes but that would be great if you happen to catch them there.
Great place. Definitely worth your time.
The biggest collection of flying aircrafts from WWII. A lot of additional information about each aircraft, pilots, and World War II references
Worth the stop and cost when headed to Bend area.
Wonderful air museums with very knowledgeable staff. Great 4 "kids" of all ages
Wow, what a great stop for an airplane buff like me
Super cool chance to see some old warbirds up close, got to watch someone go up in a p47 and the Su-2. Really awesome collection and knowledgeable staff. Just wish I could've gotten up close to the cockpits to see inside
This was a great display of American and forign air history.
Awesome vintage aircraft collection
A fantastic collection of airplanes and cars.
Very Interesting place. Beautifully restored planes and Personal memorbilia from former pilots.
Super cool collection and very nice people!
Nice place to see a lot of aircraft will go again
Excellent look into WWII aviation history.
We came across this hidden gem on the way to Central Oregon. It has a nice collection of airplanes, we were thrilled to have found it. The facility is clean and a great place to visit. I highly recommend stopping by, no disappointments here.
This is by far the best collection of fully restored, operational aircraft from the WWII Era that I have found anywhere. I stumbled upon the museum by accident. Well worth the trip.
Amazing museum the best i've ever seen. We came all the way from Australia and saw the billboard on our way to Bend so had to stop in. The restoration on these aircraft is simply stunning, i've never seen aircraft in this good condition before. We ended up chatting to the mechanics and restorers and they were the best so friendly. Its a shame the B17 was at an airshow at the time as i have never seen one before ( seeing as there are none in Australia). Seeing a real ME109 was definitely the highlight. I Highly recommend this museum its so clean organised and has the best collection. I hope to come back one day if i'm ever in Oregon again
Wow!
Great place to visit, awesome birds!!
A must for all aviation enthusiast. The collection is active so you might miss some planes if they are at airshows. Was bummed to not see the P38. Will go back if in the area. Though they do need better shirts for sale.
History
The open set up of this museum made it 2 times better than others. Being able to walk right up to these planes and the other static exhibits that were available makes it much more personal than others that are cordoned off. The lady running the admissions desk was amazing, both friendly having a massing knowledge of the exhibits. A must see when in Central Oregon!
Focuses purely on WW2 planes, but still a good collection.
Fantastic collection of mostly WWII aircraft.
Being able to touch the flyable P2V7 Neptune made my day. Being up close to the B-17 testing it's engines and taxing was also very cool.
there are more old war planes here that I haven't seen before. it was very cool and totally worth the stop.
Wonderful collection.
Amazing planes with detailed history on them. Few beautiful cars and gift shop!!
Definitely Worth The Trip! Kids old and young alike will enjoy this travel back in time of Aeronautical History!
Great piece of American history here in Central Oregon. We thought it was going to be a zoo up there because of the Solarfest but everything was under control & moving very smoothly.
Great place. A lot of information and very nice display.
We stopped by on a whim driving from Bend to Portland and had a great time! The planes are in excellent condition and the stories behind them are really interesting
Excellent collection
Awesome if you're a history buff.
Very nice, clean , friendly
I remember the few that were in Medford years ago. Enjoyed the weekly show over my place when one or more were on down wind. Rode with Ted Ryder in his T6 when at Jack's hangar. Visited this new museum yr+ ago. Terrific display of airworthiness. 'I shall return'
It was awesome especially the old planes keep up the history thank you
Historic classic planes...most are still fly able. WW I and II originals...with stories worth knowing...like first African American pilot shot down in Korea...Jesse L. BROWN...we need to know these stories. Erickson's private collection in Madras, Oregon is a treasure.
A great place to visit to bring back memories of aviation grade school. Keep your eyes open to the gray haired generation that can't help from using their hands to emphasize the story.
Pretty neat place, not for kids. I'll go back another time (with out having to chase a toddler) so i can actually read the history. My toddler enjoyed it, but it wasn't what I was expecting.
Fantastic collection in very good condition
One of the coolest places I've been to in the high desert, even got to see some original coursairs fly.
Great little gem in my home town
Very interesting
Clean friendly and interesting.
For being out in the middle of nowhere, this is a first class air museum. Almost all the aircraft are still flying and well maintained. Highly recommended!
An incredible secret along Oregon's coast. Many operational Wwii airplanes on display. The vintage equipment, music and souvenirs will choke you up with pride.
Great little museum of collector airplanes
Stop in
Awesome birds, gonna come and enjoy. Retired 30 yrs Air Force. Thanks for the memories.
Really enjoyed your collection of aircraft. Especially the DC3 and the P-38. Family members flew in both. Thanks, we will be back.
Nice visit for aircraft enthusiasts
