This place is wonderful to visit. It's extremely pretty with it's covered bridge, mill, and other buildings. Walking is a little hilly and a little rough but my 93 year old MinL could get around fine unassisted (she is in good shape). The Lombard Log Haulers, up by rhe parking lot are a special draw. This place is all volunteer run and they are ti be commended! Still, watch the website to attend while the site is open in order to get interpretation and building access. Better yet, go during their larger events. It's still a pretty walk at other times but not the learning experience. Please be sure to support them with your entrance fee and donation. Folks put a lot of work into this place!

Love the colonial days; the volunteers are so friendly, they feel like family. Kids love the cute selection of souvenirs at the giftshop, and parents love the amazingly low prices even more!

Kim Dickerson

Nice little museum in the woods. I was there with a logger who made the exhibits more interesting as he'd worked with a majority of the equipment there.

Special Ed

We sure hit this one at the right time. Visiting Bar Harbor from the west coast we decided to see some inland locations. Found the Maine Forest & Logging Museum and it just happened that they were having their Living History Days weekend. They had their Lombard log hauler running, blacksmithing, food, the water wheel vertical sawmill, the horizontal sawmill, the shingle cutter. It was an amazing time. Well worth the price of admission.

Steve Page
