This Museum corresponds to the category of Art museum.
Small but interesting. Good exhibition for this summer season. Nice place to take my kid and spend some time watching art.
For a relatively small town museum, there were several interesting exhibits. I particularly liked the photography exhibit.
The upstairs is a typical museum with a permanent gallery of diverse and interesting pieces. Down stairs is a rotating display, this one was rather eclectic and had some odd stuff. Overall the museums is beautiful and worth the stop.
Boca museum is small and very well organized. The receptionist was nice and helpful. The best part is that they have programs for kids. Awesome
Food was delicious, but is a very noisy restaurant. Good for groups having a fun time, but definitely not for a quiet dinner or conversation. We were there on a Saturday night, so maybe other nights are not so loud.
Always fulfilling its mission and working hard to have new programs.
The Boca Raton Museum of Art is a great two-story museum located in Mizner Park. This Museum houses a large variety of work. Upstairs houses the permanent collection (including African art), and the downstairs are the temporary/traveling exhibits. I visited the Boca Raton Museum of Art for the second time in July 2018. Admission was free for the entire month thanks to PNC Bank. The two main exhibits were tapestry/carpet and a large collection of Lisette Model's photography. When you arrive, I recommend finding out when the free one-hour guided tours are offered. We did this and enjoyed the information that the guide shared. I don't live far from the Boca Raton Museum of Art, but I always forget it's there. I want to get in the habit of checking their website regularly to see what the traveling exhibits are. I definitely want to visit this museum more often.
Nice exhibits, hard floors and few places to sit and look at the art. Nice docents.
Good place to take teenager, then eat in local area
Love all their special expos.
Excellent tapestry exhibition! Visited on a free day in July! Couldn't have been any better
Enjoying being a member thus availing ourselves not only to view art but also periodically the live concerts in the unique ambience of being surrounded by art.
Nonprofit organization this place is amazing
Great collection and great range of art to see. I really loved the modern art paintings collections
I came here in the month of July, when the admission is free. We are new to the area, so this was our first visit. Admission is normally $12, that seems fair to me for the size of this museum. If you are looking for a unique date spot, you could come here to check out art and dine in adjacent Mizner Park. I'm not that knowledgable when it comes to art, I prefer diverse museums like NYC's Metropolitan Museum of Art or fun ones like LA's The Broad. One of the current special exhibits that I enjoyed was the contemporary tapestries and carpets. One of the upcoming exhibits that looked interesting is called "Imagining Florida: History and Myth in the Sunshine State." There was an interesting photography exhibit on the upper floor as well. I'd budget about 1-2 hours for a visit here, that should give you ample time to see everything. I really liked the diverse mix of art on display here. I hope to come back again when the exhibits change.
They have some interesting pieces of art here and some historical exhibits as well. Students get in for free so its worth a visit.
Always a pleasure.
Various interesting exhibits
The best art museum I've ever been to! I adored all the monumental black art.
Free admission as part of the Boca Art Festival. Volunteered to gather feedback for museum experience. Facility was clean.
This museum pretty small compared to some others I have been to. However this art museum has a few different popular artists, little diversity art wise, and a few little things to amuse children. Things for children to do includes a room that has TV's playing cartoons with children books on shelves and a paper handed out at the front desk that if completed a prize will be rewarded. This museum is good however I beleive it needs a bigger selection.
No major exhibit when I visited but regular art was good and senior price was right
What an amazing experience today, plus entry was free. Great xzibit
It's a very nice place has everything a little. It's small but very interesting
The art museum for Boca Raton. It represents the art of the area, south Florida
Great has honey rostead penut buttter
Classy museum with great art pieces and information on he history of Florida
A well kept secret of Boca. Very fun and a wonderful learning experience
This is a really cool museum with free admission. The have lots of room to move around among the different displays of all kinds of art. You're bound to find some really fascinating pieces. There are also temporary exhibits and limited space concerts. If you're looking for a different way to spend an afternoon, this is a fun place to check out.
This museum has a great selection of a variety of artistic items. There are many events to enjoy and there is always a special exhibition. There is something for everyone to enjoy. It is located downtown with many wonderful restaurants.
This is a distinguished museum with a wonderful collection. Not only does it have paintings but also sculptures, decorative arts, furniture, textiles, costumes, drawings, pastels, watercolors, collages, prints, artist's books, photographs, and installation art. You can get free entry on select days. Check out their website for more on that. There is also a lot of options to eat and shop nearby, so you can make it a fun day out.
Great time
Small museum easy to cover in about 1-2 hours
Lovely place
A must visit in Boca Raton!
Delightful!
Must see tapestries as well as photography exhibitions.
Excellent experience, phenomenonal collection
Easy and pleasant to visit, not too big, not too small. Easy to park at the parking garage at the building close by, lots of nice restaurants around.
Very nice museum
Contemporary art!!
Awesome
Really nice, clean museum. It could be better, but I'm from NY used to good museum, but this is a cute little museum to enjoy.
An interesting collection in a beautiful setting. Docent tours are free and knowledgeably presented.
Beautiful museum, we really enjoyed it with my kids. They had a quest for kids to find artwork by little pease. Kids liked to spin a great cube. Thank you for a great museum
Awesome!! Always beautiful!
The Boca Raton Museum of Art was founded by artists in 1950 as The Art Guild of Boca Raton. Today in addition to the museum and gift shop there is also an art school. My daughter used to attended summer camp at the art school when she was in elementary school. I have fond memories of seeing her summer art project on display here. The two story museum has an impressive permanent collection that includes art by Degas, Matisse, Picasso and Warhol. A photography collection and Pre Colombian and African Art are also part of the permanent collection. Several temporary exhibits are also on display. When I visited they included Imagining Florida: History and Myth in the Sunshine State, Michael Smith: Excuse Me!?!...I'm Looking for the "Fountain of Youth", and Daniel Faust: Florida Photos from the 1980's. I enjoyed seeing the new exhibits but my favorite paintings were by AE Backus and the Florida Highwaymen. Backus was a landscape painter in the Fort Pierce area of Florida who inspired a group of African American painters known as the Highwaymen. They drove down the coast of Florida in the 1950's selling landscapes they created out of the trunks of their cars. There is a museum created by Backus in Fort Pierce. I also enjoyed two paintings of the Barefoot Mailman. In the 1850's the Barefoot Mailmen carried the mail from Palm Beach to Miami in 3 days by walking on the beach barefoot. One of them mysteriously disappeared at the Hillsboro Lighthouse. In addition to all of the wonderful art inside there is also a sculpture garden around the outside of the museum. My visit to the museum was part of PNC's free family day which is held the first Sunday of every month. During the event they offer crafts for kids. The museum also hosts a number of programs for adults during the year including lecture, tours, and classes. No visit to the museum would be complete without a stop in the gift shop which offers unique items, pieces by local artists, and beautiful jewelry. Even if You have to pay the entrance fee it is a reasonable $12. Students and children under 12 are free. They offer memberships that help support this important cultural institution. Although not as large as some the other art museums in Palm Beach County it is well taking the time to visit. Coupled with the extensive restaurants within walking distance, lunch and a visit to this museum could make for the perfect afternoon.
This is a Great museum offering contemporary and period art and sculptures. The current exhibit on comic book art alone was worth the trip. The exterior sculpture garden was quite interesting and picture worthy. Planning on a return trip soon and awaiting the next exhibit. The museum is located in Mizner park and is a great way to start a nice day out followed by shopping and dining.
This museum is small and understated, and appears to be trying to figure out what it would like to be when it grows up. It features some interesting artworks, a couple of permanent exhibitions mixed with some topical, temporary exhibits. Entrance was free for the month (bank sponsored). Few people in attendance on a Sunday afternoon when we expected it to be busy. It has a gift shop with interesting goodies, and friendly staff.
This was my first visit to the museum. It was great that guests were allowed in "free" during July, and students are always free. Whether the gallery is large or small, is irrelevant. Allowing the public to have access to diverse art forms is essential. I enjoyed the visit with my family. Sharing our different views about the collection was memorable. We took a lot of pictures and had a great time. Thank you.
A fine little museum featuring both a permanent collection upstairs and rotating exhibitions downstairs (in addition to a courtyard with sculptures outside). Worth an hour or two on a rainy day.
Boca Raton Museum of Art is one of the best in South Florida! They always have incredible exhibitions and fantastic atmosphere! There's gift shop and sculpture garden. Museum offers amazing programs for different interests and ages. It's located in the heart of Boca Raton - Mizner Park where you can easily find free parking and best restaurants in the city. #LetsGuide, #LocalGuides
Great events.
Great exhibits. Beautiful facility! They live children and young aspiring artists.
A really impressive gallery which proves how much money is in Boca. Probably the best art museum in south Florida, better than the Perez for sure...
Loved it very exciting
If you are fond of Modern Art, Pop Art, etc the Boca Raton Museum is well worth a visit. I personally do not care for it but the museums displays and exhibits are well done.
Love love love this place always a fun experience
Gives you a sense of some culture and diversity
As far as art museums go this is a gem. Different styles of art. 2 floors with elevator. Wheelchairs availabe.
Lot of fun. Plenty of areas to rest and observe the pieces of art. Nice place to visit on a hot summer day.
Interesting exhibit on Florida.
For a local museum, the collections are intriguing and thoughtfully curated. When we visited, there were incredible works of glass and mixed assembly pieces, with a wonderful mix of oil and watercolor paintings. Stop by for an hour or so and roam around. Don't miss the red mangrove trees reproduced from 85,000 crystals!
They had a fantastic "Art Find" scavenger hunt that kept my son engaged and eager to see the next section throughout.
Always check the website, some days and months are free. Students get free admission.
One of my favorite art museums. This museum seems to go on forever and has some beautiful contemporary works
Nice museum for the size of the city, different collections for different tastes. I truly enjoyed it!
Impressive place.
Racist facility My husband and I each went in separately to inquire about employment. I am Caucasian and he is African American and native american. I was told the name of their website, where to click and who to talk to after my application was submitted to get an interview started. My husband was told to "go to the website" and was dismissed. There was no mention of work experience or any qualifying questions. The only thing separating us was skin. Ladies and gentlemen, I welcome you to the Boca museum of Art.
Pleasant DAY at the Boca Museum of Art. Excellent Presentation!
The Boca Raton Museum of Art is a beautiful place with rotating curated art exhibitions and scheduled live events. A perfect place for relaxation, children, family outings or individuals seeking visual stimulation via internationally displayed fine art, antiquarian books, oil paintings, photography and modern hand craftsmanship. Awesome individual and family membership options as well.
Love the summer deals for residents. It's fun and they change up exhibitions often. The location is great and free parking in the city garage steps away.
A nice art museum, very well laid out and the exhibits are always interesting.
It has nice exhibits, but rather small.
The museum is a wonderful experience for visitors & locals
Beautiful building and awesome exhibits.
Great collection! Worth the stop!
Fun, cheap option for a rainy day, always great exhibits
Nice museum. Would recommend
My daughter and nephew have been going to the summer school associated with this museum for several years now. Wonderful creative and supportive staff.
Voting Rights Museum with some nice pieces to admire
Its pleasant and relaxing students get in for free
I just love visiting the Boca Museum, it always gives me the perfect feeling and I come home very relaxed and with a smile on my face. I am sure that you guys will love spending at least an hour here, visiting the wonderful exhibitions!
Very exact imaginable exhibits
I highly recommend this museum. The place is very clean, the staff is very welcoming and freeing and they are always working on keeping their art work progressive.
Lovely collections on display, large array of different styles. Permanent collection features incredible artifacts from early Mesoamerican cultures in fantastic shape. Sculpture garden a must-see. Bring you student ID for free admission
Amazing art
Really fascinating place, outstanding architecture, displays, artists, great place to spend an afternoon
Great place to bring your children or grand children.
free for the month of august! but if you've been once, you've experienced it enough
Free entrance because we visited last Saturday of July. Tapestry collection was wonderful. They even had Kehinde. Their permanent collection is quite impressive too. Compact enough but offers one a variety of periods
I love this art museum I came here with my kids and they too loved it
Really have to see it to believe it and spin the giant cube
Great little museum tucked into a great little community ! Definitely a must do !
Large museum with magnificent pieces. It features carious exhibits from different artists that change periodically so check the website to see what is showing. I saw the Jewish history exhibit and learned a thing or two as well. One of my favorite museums in South Florida!
Went to the film series this last weekend with my son and his girl friend. The artist was from Brazil all about recycling just fascinating to watch!
Huge bldg. Beautiful set up for exhibits two floors and outdoors. Houses priceless pieces of art among most recent artists. Free parking. Entrance free all month of July 2019. A must see.
Always enjoy a trip to this museum. In a great location.
I enjoyed the exhibits
Had an awesome time at this museum. Nothing like art work that challenges your psyche and way of thinking.
The BRMA never fails to present interesting and thought provoking exhibits. Always worth a visit.
The museum has so much in itself. It is altogether a combined mix of beautiful green gardens and great art collection. Being a nature lover , i totally enjoyed the time i spent with my family in the flower gardens.
Its a pretty good size. We did the museum in 45 min.
Kids African mask program was great. Thanks for being free in July!
Such a lovely place. I loved the docent led tour as well.
Nice small friendly museum. Non flash photography is allowed. Students and children are free.
This museum is the best that's ever been in Boca. It has some amazing permanent works and an impressive history of hosting some of the best travelling exhibits. I saw the Warhol Show there, which was quite informative. Grab some lunch, visit the museum, see some art. It's great.
Really cool museum. Has a great out door garden. Free for july.
A decent museum. Not a great permanent collection but a good location and worth going to when a traveling show is there
Great experience, very interesting exhibits
Interesting museum. Highly recommended.
Great service Great food
A little small, but lovely. Artist names you will recognize. Located in a wonderful park with restaurants and shopping, right off HWY 1...! Use the parking garage in the NW corner of Mizner...for easy access...
Very nice museum. Pleasant staff
Awesome local museum! Nice for an afternoon trip with a date or family.
Great and unique works of art.
Great Museum
Great for art lovers
I became a member of this museum and for 100 bucks, I can always visit with a free guest. I love the venue it's so beautiful and they always have a grandiose permanent collection on the 2nd floor that everyone must go see.
Wonderful employees.
Disappointing. Lots of modern junk. Not a great world class museum. Norton much better
Such a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Loved the sculpture garden!
It is a small and lovely museum with an interesting donated collection. I love the gift shop. The products are fantastic and for sale at reasonable prices. The reason I only gave the Boca Raton Museum only 4 stars is because I so happened to be at the there at a time when the special exhibition was not set up yet but I still have to pay the same entrance fee. I think it should have been at a reduced rate. All in all this is a great place to enjoy an afternoon. It is in a great area with lots of restaurants and free parking.
Small but wonderful art museum. Traveling exhibits and permanent collection.
Our favorite art museum in Florida. Always interesting to see what exhibit is featured. Excellent jazz once every month.
Great visit to this museum with our grandkids. Had a guided tour with a wonderful lady. She explained a lot to the kids and made them look at art with a critical eye, letting them interpret different pieces. She had excellent control of the kids all the time making the visit very enjoyable. The kids had a chance to express their artistic aptitudes at the end of the visit.
Very informative and educational for students as my self in University studies and my elective is modern Art, Picasso, Raphael, Matisse, Cubist.. etc Etc.
Small beautiful museum in Boca. Opens late on Thursday which is perfect for a date/activity after work. They have a pretty good permanent collection.
I've only been here for a wedding, and it's a lovely and classy venue. It is a little strange to have a dance floor right across from a Holocaust exhibit, but it didn't bother me.
Nice cute local collection
Great selection, very clean
Can't beat free admission in August and the portrait of Big Daddy Kane is priceless
What an experience! I will definitely visit again... soon. Itanianisimo's jewelery design's are simple and elegant. The ladies from the gift shop and the Front Desk are friendly and helpful.
Neat local museum.
I love the mesoamerican theme. Hope to revisit this place when I come back in Florida.
Delightful place to spend a few hours. Permanent collection is definitely worth a visit. Visiting exhibitions will challenge you. Sculpture garden has some interesting pieces.
Nice place but more like a big art gsllery. Not a big city museum.
Great art classes here. Good, experienced and patient teachers. Highly recommend for this.
his Museum houses a large variety of work
Very nice.
Excellent place.
"Beautiful Museum" Located in the beautiful Mizner park The museum had a glass show Glasstress assembled by a glass studio Barengo Studio that we buy from in Murano. The museum is a beautiful and well designed for displaying art
We enjoyed the Boca Art Museum. It's small so you only need an hour or two and they have a scanner hunt for kids.
It was all right! Small museum and collection, with a few nice pieces!
Boca Raton Museum of Art gets 4 stars. For a small museum they certainly know how to work with what they have. The current exhibition (Florida Invitaional) is eh, but is made up for by the permanent collection, in which they have many excellent pieces of art.
beautiful! you can't beat free art days!
the best
Definitely worth a visit, a wide range of art is permanently on display.
This is a really cozy, easy going, laid back museum! Always a pleasure to spend time here and then to go for a walk in Mizner Park.
Great little museum, has some great pieces and very friendly and helpful staff.
The borrowed exhibits were fun and enlightening. I enjoyed the tapestries" the photography, and the framed art room. Free for the month of July!
Really enjoyed this place. Took my daughter who is very interested in arts and museums. She liked it a lot too. Some of the glass work was amazing.
Better than I thought it would be, enjoyed the paintings immensely, Had Mateise, Van Gogh, Marasot etc. Well worth the visit.
Excellent facility . Wonderful gift shop .
The special exhibits are outstanding. It's always enjoyable to see the permanent offerings as well. Such an eclectic mix of art - from photos to glass to the tapestries- was a joy.
A really awesome place, lots of interesting art wet and you lie and it was actually free to get in
Loved the museum itself. Outside sculpture garden could have been a little more interesting. Gift shop was pricey but hey it is Boca baby!!!
Usually the good thing about this place is that they have deals going on all the time.I came here for the first time and it was such a quiet peaceful environment.
