You will be able to see the opinions of real people like you who are consuming the services and products of Roseway Theater (Movie Theater) near Oregon.
As of day this firm receives a score of 4.6 out of 5 and that score was based on 348 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is nearly the highest, and it's based on a large number of reviews, so we can say that the assessment is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to rate when they are satisfied with the service, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to put reviews when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Movie Theater belongs to the category of Movie theater.
We love our small, quirky, local theater. It's age shows but that's part of the charm. They show first run films have a decent selection of snacks for purchase. Parking can be an issue so you have to get there early to park on side streets...or take the bus...or walk if you live near by. We love to support our local businesses!
One of our favorite places for many years. Reasonable prices door food and admission, good movies, nice people. Perfect neighborhood theater
Good sound, good seats, nearby, and a couple bucks cheaper than the big chains. No assigned seating.
Drove all the way up to the theatre for the 4:30 show, but when I got there everything was locked up. The website still shows the 4:30 show happening, there’s a huge poster showing that there’s a 4:30 showing, and the marquee says there’s a 4:30 showing, but there doesn’t seem to be a single person working. Now I’m stuck up here during rush hour and probably won’t make it to another theatre in time.
Classic theater, great picture, great sound. Love it here. Wish they had beer! Still deserves 5 stars, though.
one of my favorite Portland movie houses.
I was soo disappointed because there was no ‘butter’ for our popcorn and it was burned. I’ve been there before and this hasn’t happened. Needless to say, it lessens the experience tremendously.
Great theater. Great sound. Great prices!!! This is how theaters should be.
The Roseway is a great movie theater. Classic movie theater decor, huge screen, really clear digital projection and Dolby 7.1 digital sound. Extremely friendly staff every time I've gone. Only reason it's not 5 stars is that I like to drink beer, and they don't serve it here (which is an exception to the rule, in Portland, OR).
Nice neighborhood theatre. Single screen means only one movie on the marquee for a couple weeks. Sound is good. Seats are comfy. Concessions are basic-boxed candies and popcorn, sodas and water. As long as they've got a movie playing that I want to see I'll be back!
Clean, popcorn fresh....
Great old movie theatre with the best popcorn in Portland. Always good service, comfortable seats, a real gem.
Came here 2 times now and love it. Comfy seats and cheap prices, even on popcorn.
I tend to have a heart for this little place. My brother and I worked here as one of our first jobs when we were just kids. We would get paid candy and about 2 bucks each to come in and clean out the trash from the theaters after a movie. It was a fun time. Anyhow I brought my niece by here to check it out and tell her a bit of history. Great place, cute neighborhood, vintage feel.
Even on a snowy night in Portland the Roseway delivers in terms of single screen entertainment! The seats are comfy and there’s ample legroom plus the prices are very affordable even on a Friday night. The stained glass homages to studios’ logos are a solid touch. And I can’t say enough about having a friendly neighborhood movie theater!
Great theater, cheap movies and a great experience
One of my favorite places to spend money when watching a movie on the big screen
A year ago I would have rated this theater 5 stars, but since they've caved to the 3d phenomenon like the major chains, it's 4. Great sound, seating, and food though. If you can see a movie here without 3d, it's guaranteed to be a great experience.
Wonderful theater, the styling and decor is beautiful and the seating is great. Other theaters should take note of the seating, rows are roughly 2.5 feet apart so there is no reason to trip over anyone when heading to the restrooms or the concessions.
Very nice neighborhood theater. Cheaper than the chains, and still good seating.
Nice old theater
Great older theater. Single screen. Only $8 for a ticket and they play new movies. The seats are older too but I think better than modern theater seats. Highly recommend.
Classic movie theater. No beer or wine but great popcorn and an awesome place to see a show.
One of the cool old movie theaters in Portland you can always catch a matinee cheap they've got a nice little snack bar don't forget about the cool little Armadillo in the lobby
Great local, rejuvenated cinema
Great neighborhood theater, they are always very nice here and we go to this local theater whenever we can
Excellent popcorn, nice theater, friendly staff.
Lots of legroom in this old Theater. The seats rock. I'd come here for the popcorn alone...it's the best.
The service is great. The tickets are cheaper and the popcorn tastes way better than most of your typical AMC and regal theaters. The screen is huge. The only thing I could really complain about are the seats after sitting for a while, but it is an old theater.
Fun old theatre. Great popcorn!
Somehow the Roseway Theater is always playing the movie that our family wants to go see. We love this place and see as many movies as we can here.
Not being a native of Portland for very long, I'm not sure of the Roseway's history; I believe it was an older theater that has been remodeled and revamped. It's a one-screen theater, which is both a slight drawback and a part of its charm. The projector quality is good (and they will show movies in 3D when applicable). The prices are among the most affordable (if not the most affordable) that I've paid for movie tickets (both regular and 3D showings). The staff are all friendly and courteous. Overall, this is one of the best theaters I've frequented. If you're looking for a change from the big corporate theaters, this is a great place to go.
Awesome independent movie theater. The presentation is fantastic and the popcorn is really something too. A great choice for any new release.
Beautiful theater, comfy seats, big screen and a great price!
This is a nice, single screen, theater. They play first run moves. Good sound. Ticket prices are great. Traditional selection of snacks.
Great local theatre. Plays new films. Nice staff.
Great single-screen theater. They get almost all of the big movies, and are so much cheaper than the big chains. Staff are very friendly. Have been over a dozen times and never have had a poor experience. It's our go-to place to see movies.
Old school theater with a modern flare. Def going back!!!
Been going to this theater forever! The staff is always in a great mood and I love the old time feel
I love this little theater in my neighborhood! Good popcorn and although they only show 1 movie at a time, it is usually a good pick. The downstairs bathrooms are fairly vintage, small and have a slight mildew smell, but hey, who cares when you're usually racing in and out of there anyway to catch the movie. Maybe one day they will start serving beer?
Seats were comfortable and the staff was friendly :)
Great theater. The art deco is gorgeous. TERRIBLE popcorn. No food. Don't plan to eat anything here.
Great neighborhood movie venue. The prices are very reasonable for a theater.
Quaint one-screen theater complete with lovely vintage interior. They usually show the best of whatever is in cinemas. Highly recommended.
Good deals on Groupon nice new movies
Cool place
Lovely, local and small single screen theater. Beats the big boyz.
I love the classic feel of this movie theater, one of my local favorites!
Great old school theater and popcorn is great hands down.
My rule is "If it's not at the Roseway, I'm not going" I am not a big fan of the other Theaters in the Portland area. Went to a movie here last night (a Tuesday). 8pm showing. $8. There were six of us in the theater. Everyone was able to spread out for an unobstructed view. The rocking seats are comfortable and have cup holders. The arm rests are starting to show some wear but it doesn't affect the comfort. The air conditioning was perfect for a hot night. Soda mix is good. The popcorn is large, round and firm but too darn salty for my taste. Prices are reasonable. The screen size is large and the sound system is awesome. I'm kind of torn giving this theater five stars because it is a best kept secret for the neighborhood. I don't want too many people to find out what a gem this theater is. So shhhhhhhh. Only tell your best friends.
The place is so much fun! The seats are great! The screen is huge! And the prices are reasonable! It is a wonderful date night spot! Old time Movie place!
Love this small community theater.
This is the best theater in Portland!!! The prices are cheap, the screen is AMAZING, the sound system is top notch. Everyone should check this place out. If you are able to go to one of the Midnight opening night shows you will not be disappointing.
Local gem. One screen and no alcohol, but great prices for tickets and concessions. Support local business!
I grew up going to this theater and watching Alfred Hitchcock movies, Godzilla in black-in-white, and many other classics Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Jimmy Stewart, Bob Hope, Jimmy Deranny and so many other famous actors and actresses from the 30's - 50's even the 60's, I also like to hear them play the organ during intermission halfway through the movies. Thanks Mom and Dad and us kids really miss you guys.
Good theater, good prices, no complaints. Bathrooms are NOT wheelchair accessible. They are downstairs and there is no elevator; stalls are narrow.
This place is great! The only bummer is the popcorn has to many hulls!
Great place to watch movies. Popcorn is always fresh and good.
I love this theater. One of the few independent local theaters left that have first run movies. The picture and sound are fantastic and the chairs are comfortable enough to fall asleep in. Ticket prices are the best at $8
Beautiful HD picture and HD sound. It used to be about $3 cheaper than most theaters, but lately they've only been showing 3D movies on their 1 screen and so it hasn't been as much of deal. Still though- this place is so cool. You gotta check it out!
Roseway was refurbished under new owners. Beautiful big seats, great concessions and a rehabbed lobby make this locally-owned, neighborhood theater a must-visit for the next big blockbuster. The owners do such a fine job that Paul Allen's Vulcan Real Estate broke an agreement with AMC to hire this company to run Seattle's legendary Cinerama Theater.
Show time was 4:45, I got there at 5:00. No one in sight, could not get in. I knocked on the door for a few mins, no one showed up. We only missed the previews. That sucked not to be let in.
Love this place, great prices digital sound and projector!!
Had a great time in the old neighbor hood theater
Best theater in Portland. A single, good screen with a well done sound system. And the people that use this theater understand how to behave in public. No crying children, no cell conversations. And to top off this sundae of awesomeness, they don't show 30 minutes of commercials and previews like Bridgeport does. If I have to pick nits, the popcorn used to be better, but that is the only issue with this place.
Great neighborhood theater with one screen but plays first run movies at a discounted price over the big theaters. Standard concession options with reasonable prices. Newer theater chairs. Usually not packed but can be for opening weekends on blockbusters
Nice clean small theater very friendly staff
I love this little theater. They sport the best popcorn I've ever spent to much money on!
Roseway is a classic old Portland theater. One auditorium, plenty of snacks, the seats are typical but pretty comfortable.
Great theater! Clean, nice snack bar, great staff!
Nicely maintained large single-screen theatre with good sound, reasonably priced concessions. Modern seats rock, don't recline. If there's a parking lot, I couldn't find it.
This is the best place to watch a movie, good prices, not a big crowd, comfortable seats. This place will not break the bank.
Love this theater
I love the big old theater's with properly sized screens. I love even more when these theaters show current release movies. I love even more when they don't charge an arm and a leg for the tickets and popcorn. This theater is awesome.
If there's a movie you REALLY REALLY want to see. Go see it here. All the major movies that come out I won't see it anywhere else. GREAT prices.
I love this spot. Zero frills. Not the newest theater or best/cleanest seating or bathrooms, but it's more than made up for in character and fair pricing. Not to mention the staff I dealt with were great.
Vintage theatre renovated with great seating and sound system. Definitely great and would go here again!
They show first run movies at bargain prices. This is an old time movie theater with a single screen and the old style seating. The sound system is great and the movies were clear. Parking is on the street and is limited. Allow some extra time for parking. If you get there early I recommend you go across the street to the Korner Pocket Bar and have a beer or cocktail.
A great recently refurbished community theater with all the amenities of large theaters without high prices.
An affordable, well-maintained, one-screen local theater.
Great theater! Screen was a lot bigger than I was expecting for small single-screen theater and the sound was loud and crisp. The deals on admission and snacks are better than any mainstream theater out there. And the seat cushions are thick and comfy. Also, they don't just play first-run movies that have been out for months. I saw Fantastic Beasts 2 with my kids at Roseway the first week it was released in theaters. Support this local business and you won't be disappointed.
Rarely crowded, clean, comfortable seats, friendly staff, old-school big screen, good audio
It's a nice nostalgic, old school theater to watch a movie in and I'll be back to do it again!
The size of the screen, the neighbors and excellent price.
Quaint, charming and relaxing. Yummy popcorn.
Love the old school feel! But they should add a bar or at least some beer!
I really like this theater. The popcorn is the best in town. Hands down.
A very nice theater with a great sound system.
Great old theater, lots of character, not much parking.
Great place to see new movies, small and quant
Simply the best theater in Portland. Prices on tickets are half of what the big chains charge with a better screen and sound than any place around. Prices on concessions are also way less than bigger chains and the chairs are actually comfortable to sit in.
One of my favorite local theaters besides McMenamins theaters...only begging question is 'where's the beer?'
I really love how old the theater is feels like living in the past somewhere but went and saw a couple different movies there it's just a walk away from my home and lots of fun not overcrowded it's a great little theater with the option of one movie only thing I'd like to see is a changing table in the restroom.
It is always a delight to go to this place
Clean, friendly employees, good experience!
The only major problem is that the bathrooms are totally inaccessible for wheelchair customers. Other than that we drive a half hour past our nearest theater to come to Roseway. Great seats, great prices, lovely old palace.
Great place to watch a movie, the staff are polite and very clean inside.
This is a great single screen theater. They play first run movies cheaper than the larger ones and the picture and sound is top notch. This is THE place to go see the best movies.
Good prices, no crowds... Awesome spot! Will definitely go back
A great place to watch a movie.
One of my favorite theaters. Spacious, comfortable seats, and inexpensive prices.
Great theater. They have one of the best sound systems in Portland and very affordable prices.
John wick 3 would have been better if he default danced after every kill
This is a cool theater. It's a little old. But I think it has some nice charm to it and adds to it's character.
Best first run theater in town, very inexpensive, immaculately clean vintage theater. My first choice when seeing first run movies.
Wonderful community theater! Comfy seats, adequate concessions and (this is important) *great* sound.
Great neighborhood theater with all the basics and no frills. Seats do rock though, which is nice. Single screen. Popcorn's okay.
Your neighborhood theater with tremendous history and fun staff.
I purchased a groupon. Went to use said groupon and was told that they will not accept it for popular films. Since they only have one theater and they were playing "popular films" for the duration of my groupon, I didn't get to use it and it expired. This is just bad business. You shouldn't put restrictions that disallow any possibility to use a promotion you sold.
This single screen throwback to the movie-palace era, with state of the art digital projectors and well maintained/renovated is a great place to take in a film! Pros: *Reasonable ticket prices for first-run movies. *Large, comfortable seats with reclining backs and fold-away arm rests. *Concession prices that won't break the bank. Cons: *With restrooms downstairs, use could be a problem for patrons with mobility challenges. *The spacious single theater shows, but one film at a time for weeks at a time, if it's a movie you'e interested in, you may hove no reason to come to this fantastic theater for a several weeks. I suggest going early, with only street parking available you may have to walk a few blocks if it's a popular movie. I've always been able to find a spot close by, and in such a good neighborhood, you need't worry about your car.
Snacks are good. Price is fair. They need to hire a sound engineer so I don't experience hearing loss from occasional sharp static noise next time.
My favorite theater in Portland. They don't sell beer but there's a liquor store nextdoor.
Best popcorn in town. Very respectful, outgoing, kind staff
Comfortable seats, friendly staff, clean surroundings. What more could you ask for.
Great experience as usual. Hands down my favorite theater.
Great old school theater
Great old movie theater. First run movies at affordable prices. Very comfortable seats. #reviewsday
Don’t believe the fake reviews. They are cheap and deceitful. We purchased a Groupon and they decided they didn’t want to honor it. It is about to expire in a couple weeks so my wife and I thought we better get in to use it and the staff said. Nope, this movie is special so we think you should just have to pay again. Jerks.
Nice, single-screen, local theater. The sound and picture quality were great, the seats were comfortable and (as a guy with long legs) there was plenty of leg room. Also, you can't beat the price of $8 for all showtimes.
This is a great one screen neighborhood theater! Generally it is not crowded and the seats are pretty comfortable. There is a concession stand, but I have only sampled the pop corn which is pretty tasty.
Confortable seats, a good screen, bright projector and amazing sound. Plus, they aren't chain owned. Oh, and nobody eating their f-ing dinner next to me. Thank you for being a theater, not a restaurant.
It's a hidden gem, playing first run movies at 1990's ticket prices. People working there are chill AND helpful. The seats are comfortable, the sound is solid. The popcorn is perfectly salted.
Definitely my favorite theater for first run movies. Nice seats, good popcorn, great prices.
Quaint little theater. Not handicap accessible. Bathrooms are in the basement, extremely narrow stalls. Comfortable theater seats, the arm rests can be raised.
Great 1st run movies, nice clean theater, and a great price.
I love small local theaters! They have soda water any size $1.50! Other snacks cheap. Single screen projector. Very nice. No hastle show up early find a seat not bombarded with other nonsense. I only watch movies from here and Hollywood theater.
Beautiful old theatre. Not the pretentious multiplex, lacking character.
The only place I go see movies!
Great place as always. Price is lower than chain theaters
Best theater I've been to. Sound system could use a little boost but the seats and the layout of the theater is great. Definitely my favorite theater in Portland
Quality sound and picture, comfortable seats, clean bathroom, cheap ticket & snack prices. 5th star possible if they add pizza and local draft beer...
My Grandmother took me to the Roseway Theater in 1975 when John Wayne starred in Rooster Cogburn. The theater brings back great memories for me and is a great place to watch movies today. The seats are comfortable, the sound is great, and the setting is historic. The prices can't be beat. You'll have a great experience!
This is my favorite theater in all of Portland. It's $9 a ticket no matter what time you go and it doesn't matter if it's 3D or not. It's all the same price. The Popcorn is fresh, inexpensive and very inexpensive. The screen is a DLP. I don't know the history of the theater that well but it looks like it was from the 30's and remodeled within the last decade.
A great little movie theater, but DON'T go hungry because they don't serve food.
Old school theatre. Clean, comfortable seats. Good experience
This is a really nice theater . It's clean , very comfortable big seats . The screen is huge , and the sound system is great . They have the best popcorn in town ! They keep the temperature perfect all the time , and at 8 bucks it's the best deal in town .
A local theater with first-run movies on the cheep: what's not to love?
Does the job, it's a cute neighborhood theater that usually isn't packed for big box movies.
Really clean seating and great surround sound! This old school theatre had cool stained glass around the entrance of the one screen and the quality is very good! Popcorn was actually nice n crunchy and staff is very friendly. I definitely would suggest paying this place a visit!
Roseway theater is always clean and nice. The popcorn was less than what I liked.
Independently owned theater showing top notch new release films. Friendly staff and best popcorn and concessions
Great popcorn, comfortable chairs, clean theatre.
Best theater in town
Great neighborhood theater! Classic feel with all the modern technology. Comfortable seats, great sound and good picture.
Great place to catch a movie. The sound system is incredible and the chairs are very comfortable bed space for your legs. The movie that we watched was glass and I would not recommending watching that movie are spending the money to watch it no matter how good the previews are. It was a very boring movie my friend fell asleep three times during the movie maybe four. Great Theatre very poor movie
Great location with decent ticket prices.
A gem of a neighborhood theater. Totally unpretentious with a huge screen and great sound. And don't miss the stained glass inside.!
A real community theater, but with great new movies and a state-of-the-art auditorium. It's the best of both worlds!
Great screen, great sound, great ambience, best popcorn.
Most comfortable seats ever. Great place for family and friends to enjoy a movie.
Nice people good prices show good movies comfy seats
Roseway theatre doesn't do Fandago but an emloyee let me in for free. Friendly workers, comfy seats great view.
Great local place to watch current movies.
One of our favorite theaters. Reasonable prices, great popcorn and lots of seating!
Great neighborhood theater! Never a line, and fresh, delicious popcorn.
My favorite place to see a new release. Great prices for admission and popcorn. One huge screen; old school style movie experience with upgraded sound and visual quality.
Great.
