Kind, compassionate, caring miracle workers. My brother passed away at age 52 unexpectedly. He lived in CA his adult life raising his 20 year old daughter as a single parent since she was 3. A complete autopsy was performed to determine his cause of death. A visitation and funeral in California was planned along with having his remains returned to his home town of St. Louis where his six siblings and their families live; for a visitation, funeral, and burial here. Fully autopsied remains require repairs and special precautions to be taken, particularly if being shipped cross country. Bay Area Mortuary Services in San Jose, CA was sub contracted through A Special Touch Cremation & Funeral Services of Dublin, CA to handle transportation, embalming, autopsy repair, dressing, casketing and shipping. My brother was barely recognizable at his funeral in CA. Then, due to common sense safety and protective precautions NOT being used, a horror show ensued inside the casket during his flight. Thus necessitating a complete do-over in St. Louis. A new casket, new clothing, cosmetic makeover and injury repair were required to make him viewable for our family. Kutis workers came through like champs. They gently walked us through the nightmare explaining every step of the way what happened, why, and what they needed to do remedy the horrific results before us. Then their mortician guaranteed us he could make him viewable. Promise kept with a stunning transformation. I'd give them a thousand gold stars if I could. A Special Touch in CA graciously told Kutis, myself, and my niece they would cover the expense of the replacement casket. Only 8 months later, the bill has NOT BEEN PAID and every attempt to collect on the commitment has been ignored. Nor did either offer a refund of CA expenses for their substandard work and egregiously unprofessional results. The actions and responses from the two CA operations involved
thus far have been appalling, disgraceful, and shameful. God bless Kutis.
