They showed the entire line, from the low end to the high end, with no pressure to buy one or the other. My mom and dad were so impressed with the price and availability, that they bought an upright gun safe and a quick access under bed safe! Edited Original - Hours listed are from 8am to 5pm, yet they weren't open at 4:30pm when I had called and told them I would come in a half hour earlier. Unreliable, they didn't tell me they would be closing early, and wasted my time. Updated - I went in today (6/8) since they still seemed to be the best locksmith within a considerable distance and was treated very well. I appreciated the owner's apologetic view and obvious attempts to satisfy me as a future customer. I changed from one to four stars accordingly, just because the communication I initially received wasn't up to par. I will be coming to this store for future locksmith needs, this business handles customer relations very well.

I searched all the standard key duplication places (walmart, home depot, ect...) to get a rooftop box key done with no luck. A quick online search led me to High Desert. I got my keys made and was on my way in short order. Not only was the service excellent (checked the duplicates worked before I paid) but I kept my money local. If I could give these guys 10 stars I would. We needed our new home re-keyed a few weeks ago. Thad called 30 min prior to our scheduled appointment time just to apologize and let me know he was running late, but would get here ASAP. I was instantly impressed with this courteous communication. He had our whole house re-keyed in under 15 min, and was a super friendly and easy-going guy. As he was getting our bill squared away, he asked about the GMHS stickers he'd seen on our cars. I told him my brother was one of the GMHS 19 and not only was he empathetic and compassionate over my loss, but he offered a discount...of 50% off! I was moved by his offer and grateful for his generosity and kindness, but felt I just couldn't accept. The cost of the re-key was already much lower than what other companies would charge. On top of all that, Thad hung out for some time after the job was completed. He listened while my husband and I talked about the nightmare/trauma of the sudden loss of my brother to fire, but also how much the loss of the crew profoundly impacted the entire Quad-City community. Thad said, "even if you didn't know any of the guys personally, you were affected by it all and couldn't help but feel the loss." He also shared his own experience of losing a loved one suddenly. By the time he left, I felt like we were old friends who had just reconnected. Now THAT is what I call superior customer service. Bottom line: not only are these guys incredibly affordable, they're efficient, helpful, and above all, they're people-oriented, which seems to be a lost art in this day and age. I have recommended High Desert to all my friends and family, and I will continue to recommend them to anyone and everyone. They're the best, they're local, and they love and support our amazing community.

Great service. Needed a costly car key replacement, dealer estimated $100 for blank key plus cost to cut. The keyless fob to control locks / alarm would be $135 plus $69 in addition to program it. $210-250 for one key and one fob. High Desert charged me $49 with tax for the high security key KIA and mentioned that the keyless entry fob was unessential to operate or secure vehicle. But if desired, i could get a programmed one for $90. High Desert saved me $200. Excellent industry knowledge and friendly shop. I recommend to you
