This library is great! They have many helpful resources open to whoever has a library card here. The workers here are great too; they're always willing to help you out with any problems you have. In terms of the structure and style, it definitely needs some updating but it is by no means bad.

The Olathe Public Library has timely and up-to-date possession of almost every book my family and I want to read, and what they don't have they get for me through vast resources (such as World Cat). When my home computer went down I was able to use the one of the library's many computers and the staff has always been personable and ready to help with any question or issue. My favorite aspect of the OPL is the wonderful service they give via internet--from account access and book reservation to computer accessed magazines and , now, classes. They surpass anything I've ever seen in California (and I've lived in many cities of Northern, Central, and Southern CA. Go Olathe!!

We used to love this library but now it’s full of homeless people sleeping on all the chairs and couches. We could even find a place to sit to read my daughter a book.

I love this library. Everyone is helpful. They go out to their way to find what you are looking for. I have gone to this library for years, and there is no smell of cigarette smoke here. And I think it's wonderful that they welcome homeless people .

Needed to print 9 copies of a HALF page letter from their computer. It gives you a code on the computer, you go over to the printer, insert your credit card, punch in the code, it prints. The printer spit out 6 blank pages in addition to my half page letters. Printer charged for them even though completely blank. I went to front desk, showed them the half page letter times 9 copies, showed them my receipt and the 6 blank pages I’d been charged for. They REFUSED to refund for the 6 blank pages. So they made an additional $.90. Sounds like a scam! Print out blank pages and refuse to refund! Buyer beware.

Many patrons, few tables with electrical outlets. "Eating & sleeping are prohibited". The staff are above themselves to keep toilet paper dispensers from getting empty.

A TOTAL DISGRACE!! Incompetent leadership at the Olathe Public library. Return drop box at 151st & Murlen has been out of service for 1 year. They should have had at a temporary replacement in place until the permanent one was put in place. No one in the area can return there library items. Can't believe it takes them 365 days to put back a drop box. Incompetent and slow staff who can't get anything done, they would be fired if they had a job at a private company. Government money being wasted by these people. A TOTAL DISGRACE!!

I love the downtown Olathe library. They are constantly getting new books in. This summer they received some outstanding cookbooks added to the collection of great books. Best factor next to the new books, is the staff. The staff and small hometown feeling makes it. Another new item they added to the books is a garden tools check out. What a kewl idea for that garden tool you may only need once or twice. Only thing missing, someone to check out to do the gardening

The library has a lovely "Story Stroll" right outside the main entrance to the East. Such a fun and creative idea. I love it and I'm 55 years-old. I'm going outside NOW and see if any children will walk the "Story Stroll." Has a real quaint small town feel, being in the heart of Old Olathe. However, the equipment is very modern and staff warm and friendly.
