This library used to be my favorite. I am dropping my 5 star review to 3 stars based solely on the fact that it has become OVERRUN with bums. Bad bums. The library does NOTHING in an attempt to control the situation. It's out of hand and the bums feelings and rights take priority over their other patrons. 2nd floor computer area is especially smelly and gross. Homeless people loiter inside and outside the building. I can't even enjoy going there anymore. I put holds on books I want via the website and then run in and pick them up and get the hell out.

There are lots of bad kids that go there on the computers, I'm a kid and I play roblox and I just sit and enjoy my stay while the bad kids bully and ride skateboards in the library and I dont get mad and I listen to everyone and say than us. please ban those bad kids

Worst parking in Boise. Not only do they have very few parking spaces but the spaces are abnormally small. Too small for any car to park without getting dinged by the next car.

Nightmarish Dreams

The current security Guard Loves To Harass Homeless, Including my 6 month pregnant wife. he beat up a customer a few days ago for no reason. and the security guard Got away with it. Horrible Place. Not safe for my Children. If I don't Feel safe, I know my children aren't safe. we went to management, and they threatened to bar me from the facility. My Advice. Go to the Cole and Ustick Location. Security Guard is The bald one. I don't even want to know his name.

Has a wonderful selection of movies, books, audio books and so much more. Has wonderful staff and is a great place to find a good book, curl up somewhere cozy and read.

Too short a loan on ebooks and on cd. Not a good selection of titles. Great staff though. Needs better funding......small town library trying to serve a growing city.

This is the most welcoming library I have ever been to.The librarians are very professional . The kids area is nicely planned .If you are in Boise or visiting here with kids, this is a must watch.

Amazing friendly kind helpful staff. Huge building, great selection. But the kid section was honestly gross. It looked dirty , disorganized. I wanted to run out and bathe my kids in sanitizer. Speaking of which it doesn't seem like the toys etc are ever disinfected. Really disappointed in the cleanliness of the kids section. It even smelled funky. We were there on a Friday afternoon if it makes a Difference. I'm hoping it was just a bad crazy day and next will be cleaner and better kept.

I really like this library and have frequented it many times. I live across town from this way and have a library about 4 minutes from me, but that one is small and usually packed with children (understandably so). This branch is the downtown one and who doesn't like going downtown?!? It has 4 levels-- three for visitors and the top one is offices. There are lots of tables and quiet places to go and get your studies or project completed at. It's my go-to place when I have something I need to do without my children bugging me every two minutes. You can rent laptops there with your credit card-- they shoot out of a kiosk which is pretty cool. I think you may need your library card, too, but I'm not too sure. You can take a walk around the Ann Frank Memorial that is on the same grounds or down the street for lots of other fun stuff to do. As you can tell from the photos that I posted today, there are people lining up to get in during the day! I thought it was beautiful!

Lots of free parking with art museum and park across the street. Park in the front or park on the side street for free as long as you stay on site. You can even buy used books for $0.10

My grandparents brought me to this library through out my life. It is a great benefit for society to access a place to spend time peacefully consuming information freely. This particular library has a fabulous floor full of periodicals. There are too many magazines for me to even try to read. I will be back for more.

I've been here every day this week for at least 4 hours a day, and I enjoy how helpful the security and staff are. My only problem is how soon it closes on Friday compared to other weekdays.

I love the library...wonderful selection (wish they had more duplicates though...always a long wait!). Services and the self check out are awesome! My biggest complaint is that since the weather is cooler it seems to be a haven for homeless people. I was just there over the weekend and the place smelled of urine and several people lounging and sleeping in the chairs, bags full to the brim with personal items.

I appreciate that they've upgraded lots of things here: the entrance is great with recommended books, they have a used bookstore to support the Auxiliary, they've added LOTS of computer terminals and checkout laptops, the non-profit library on the 3rd floor is a huge resource. The only thing that is really lacking is more parking. And it can be very dangerous leaving the lot across from FedEx at certain times of the day.

If i had my own church i would fashion it after this library. For within these walls i found all my answers. No religion brings the peace and tranquility of the inside of a well maintained library. If you cant find it here, cross the river and walk East to BSU's Albertsons Library.

Great library I prefer going to this library then the smaller ones great selection and I love the movie choice a lot to choose from the smaller branches are always lacking in the DVDs department always the same old stuff they don't change their selections that's why I love the main library great staff they help u out and the lines don't take forever like at the smaller branches:) highly satisfied customer

A great selection of books, laptops, ipads and even a 3D printers. It is definitely one of the most well equipped libraries I have seen. I was very impressed.

I tell my out of state friends that the Boise Library! is living its best life, and they are jealous. We go there for books of course, and also teen and toddler activities, VR games, to borrow video games (thanks Library for saving us $$$!), and we love the idea that we can use a 3D printer or laser cutter if we ever think of a project that is worthwhile. It's truly a wealth of information and experiences available to us all. I loved the vending machine art project that was there last year, too. Great job, Boise Library!

I could go to the Collister Library, it's way closer than the Garden City Library and on the bus route and a shorter walk, but I've been coming to this library for over 7 years now. It might be a small library for a small community, but the excellent patron service, as well as the highly progressive computer policies and the highly innovative approach the current leadership takes to improving what were aging collections and improving services for all sectors of Garden City, keep me coming back and makes the 1.5 mile walk I have to endure every morning worth it. I have nothing but love for this library.
