My husband and I are huge fans of our Star Library. We have borrowed many books on tape for our many lengthy trips to California and Nevada. The librarians know who the best readers are when I pick out a book on tape. Some readers will put you to sleep when you have to listen to them for hours--not a good thing when traveling. We borrow movies all the time as well, not to mention the many books we've borrowed. I especially love that they bring in really fun cookbooks by famous chefs (I always head to the recent arrivals table first). Right now I am borrowing "Smoke and Pickles" by Edward Lee, and "Secrets of the Best Chefs", by Adam Robers. They are both great reads and full of fantastic recipes. If the movie or book we want is not in stock they order it from one of the other Ada County libraries and it arrives within a day or two, unless it is a favorite like the movie "Lincoln" which had a wait list. I was number fourteen on the wait list and thought it would take forever to get it--it arrived in five days. The library sends you an email to tell you that what you're waiting for has arrived--love it! We do love our Star library and all the wonderful ladies there who make our love of books and movies and books on tape a magical experience. Much wisdom and enthusiasm lies in those women who always have a smile for us when we arrive. We are very blessed to have such a valuable resource so close to home. M & S Keyes
