Two days ago I called this laundromat and asked what their rates were and was told the smallest washers were $3 something. As it was $4.50 at the other laundromat in town, I decided to go to East End's. I get there, and looked like the smallest washers were all $4. I walked around, and kept looking for those that are $3 something. There's a big sign on the wall saying the smallest ones are $3.50. Finally I ask someone who's working there where the cheaper ones are, and she says $4 is the cheapest. I point to the sign on the wall, and she says 'oh I've been meaning to change that.' I reluctantly feed $4 into the washers, but am very perturbed. After awhile I say to her 'I want the amount back that I'm paying more than what I was quoted over the phone.' She starts yelling at me that she's single mother and can't handle this job and blah blah and so to be heard I start yelling back. She says the prices were raised a month ago. I try to show her my phone which shows I called just two days ago. We're both yelling, she threatens to call the cops. I say 'go ahead.' An officer comes, and from what he said she said she was afraid I was going to hit her. (?!?!?) That's BS. I tell him my side, but get nowhere with him. All she needed to do was refund likely a dollar. I told her when I'd called, she could have contacted that employee working then and found out that yes, they'd given me wrong amount. If you want to get lied to, if you want to get the cops called on you, if you want to go to a messy laundromat, definitely this is your place.
