Once inside my doctor's office everything was as always, fine !!! Albeit to get to his office I was forced to walk from my vehicle into the lobby, up the elevator, and down the hallway. A scenario which is not an easy thing for me. I say this, inasmuch as I will be 76 years old in just 2 months and with the combination of swollen ankles, arthritic knees and shoulders, high blood pressure, shortness of breath and overweight, the walk was more like a physically arduous and painful trek. I for one, cannot understand why a vehicle to office and return wheelchair service cannot be offered to all visiting patients. I believe that such a service should be available to all handicap patients free of charge. However, I would be willing to pay a reasonable fee for the service, if that is the only way that it could be provided. The above star system would be 5 stars for my doctor and his staff and no (0) stars for the CMC !!! Scott M. Haskell

1. Colleton County Hospital in Walterboro SC sent my Dad home in an ambulance with a staph infection on his arm and babbling incoherently and unable to sit up on his own- less than 12 hours after calling 911 to get him-STROKE.. I immediately came when called and had him taken back to the hospital within a few hours. Great Pictures of the staph on his arm. Oh no...there is more? Oh yes there is.... 2.Colleton County Hospital in Walterboro SC sent my Mom Home with some Magic Mouthwash not covered by Medicare/BCBS and 53.00 at CVS of course. Her symptoms you ask? Well, the doc never asked if she was vomiting or had a headache...the white patches on the roof of her mouth, the red dots on her tongue, the red scratchy throat and the fact she doesn't have any lymph nodes on one side due to treated aggressive neck cancer should at least warrant a culture. Sorry Doc, the fever was high for a few hours when it hit her....that lymphatic system works a certain way doesn't it when most of is removed...fevers don't last ..but the infection does. Wait till you see these pictures...they are even better than having the patient in your face. Somebody is teaching these employees to do things a certain way. I would be embarrassed right now to be on the board of this hospital. A former US Chamber employee in DC thanks you for your consistent incompetence at this facility based on their personal experience.

From the ER to the nurses on floor 3 I was treated very well and appreciate all who helped me during my recent bouts of diverticulitis. Thank you

Kyle Mooney

Well I'm an out of state worker. I have been having stomach/digeative issues. They got me in, treated me like I was a person on drugs. And repeatedly asked are you on drugs and just getting off drugs. NO! I do not do drugs. It was like I just went to the store in and out. They dont care about your well being. They just test for drugs and send you on your way. If you ask me I wont recommend thos place for anyone.

I loved the Dr's n staff here much better then TRMC in Orangeburg SC. They really shows you that they care. About your condition and not about the money. Which there was one old nurse I could've gone without lol.

Probably the worst hospital I've ever been in! Evey now and then you find someone that's nice but mostly they act like they don't give a damn and they don't take the time to really examine you and prescribe the right medication!

If i could give it a 0 i would. Terrible patient care experience. Discharged mom way before they should have. Discharged without confirming infection and pressure sores to the assisted living! They are the worst i have ever experienced and hope I never have to go back there!!!

Excellent small town hospital

worst experience of my life. man showed privates at dinner no care administered, billed insurance fraudelently unsafe roommates and dangerous practices by staff. staff lied repeatedly

I was given a choice as to whether I wanted to go to Orangeburg or Walterboro. I chose Walterboro. I was brought by ambulance not being able to walk or talk and throwing up violently. The ER was find. I was given a CT scan and an MRI because they were treating me for a stroke. I was sent home the next day still not walking or talking and experiencing a terrible headache. I believe THEY should have referred me to a neurologist in Charleston or Columbia to test me further. Instead I had to pay to see my family practitioner and get them to refer me. I was admitted on 1/22/19 and my neurologist appointment is 2/14/19. That’s ridiculous. In the mean time, due to my lightheadedness , I slipped and now have to have a full left hip replacement on 2/25/19. All of this could have been avoided had they just referred me to a specialist.

Sounds like a bunch of whiners who aren't getting free healthcare and meds.

At the end of December and during the January 3rd ice storm, which closed down the Lowcountry of South Carolina, I was scared badly by my heart racing for 5 to 6 hours. Of course things happen in the middle of the night and early morning so there I was, admitting that I needed the ER. I was admitted quickly, triaged more quickly and whooshed into a room where the nurses took over, explaining everything they were doing and why so that the not knowing wouldn't scare me even more. The doctor did the same and no matter what the question, the person within earshot answered my questions patiently and thoroughly. Upon the 2nd ER visit I was admitted to ICU and then moved to a patient floor for another day. I have nothing but the highest praise for Chelsea, Dr. Ward, Shawana, Sherry, Bobbi Jo, Tiffany, Susan, Kim, Erica, and Shannon. Every single one of those people made me feel well cared for. AND they welcomed my husband as well. The night I was in ICU he could not leave because of the ice storm and they rounded up a recliner chair for him to sleep in. I am remiss for not sending a thank you card earlier because I believe we should be as quick to praise as we are to complain. These people are all STARS!

Very clean, friendly staff. Seems like there is a nurse visit to the patient's room at least every hour or so whether or not it's needed. Also, the coffee from the free machine on each floor is darn good.

Brought my daughter in and she was misdiagnosed and prescribed medicine she didn't need. The doctor didn't spend more than 5 minutes with his so called exam and was quick to diagnose and treat the symptoms and not the kid. This has happened more than once. Quick to prescribe chemicals and lazy. I caught him rolling his eyes at the sound of the other babies crying in their rooms. Wrong career dude.

Irvin Bennett

Er staff ok. But Dr was foriegn. He sent my prescriptions to the closed for months rite aide. So no meds. I had. Stroke but did not get the meds. That drug store has been closed for two months. They should get an American.

Heidi Sibiski

I have nothing to complain about. They brought my husband back right away even tho they were extremely busy brought him meds right away all dr's and nurses were extremely helpful and on point with everything informed me of everything along with him! Strongly reccomend this hospital.

Labor and Delivery and security and the staff is overall awesome. This place is very helpful even when it comes to overall health care. This facility offers it all it's very clean even for the restrooms. The staff and security is very friendly and are well observant when it comes to patient care. The food here is very awesome too. If your having a child here I recommend it to anyone cause of the celebration dinner. They really look out for you in here plus even your emotional being. Also next door to the hospital there is a spot where you can walk around and sit down if you want to be outside. Free WiFi is available here so if you have any emergencies or appointments please feel free to come here to Colleton Medical Center. Also not forget they do have vending machines here as well.

This Is By Far The Worse Hospital I Have Ever Encountered!!! I have been left with nerve damage in both feet from a bad spinal tap after giving birth a year ago! Till this day I am still dealing with it! NOW I am here with my sick son & they refuse to test him for the flu! The doctor SAYS BECAUSE ITS A WAIST OF MONEY! This is such a let down!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL TO ANYONE!!!!!

Vloger 101

This is the worst hospital ever. Some of the Doctors are so mean to their patients, talk to them like they don't have respect for them. I have Sickle Cell and I came in for day in the morning at 2:45am, complaining that my toes and legs were hurting. After running some test, my blood was extremely low, so they decided to keep me. Well, when they changed shifts, the day time nurses were very RUDE!! I had needed two pints of blood, because mines had done drop to a 5.4 and too low for my doctor and me. Monday morning came for the the Doctor to make their rounds and I was sound asleep and the doctor took it as I was too drugged up. I justed want to take a nap. So, now I'm in here suffering in pain wait on my blood...

This is the first time I’ve ever given a bad review for an institution. If I could give a negative 10, I would. My boyfriend has a stomach condition which causes him to be in a lot of pain. The receptionist and his ER nurse were helpful. For starters the triage nurse seemed as if she didnt care at all. Her tone and demeanor wasn’t nurse-like at all. This is a strong man who is crying like a child because of the amount of pain he was in. To make matters worse, he sat in the waiting room for over an hour in excruciating pain and was told by his triage nurse that if he kept making noise, it was only going to get worse. I honestly felt like I took better care of him that day in the hospital. He doesn’t have any health insurance so I’m guessing that’s why his care was so poor. I told them that his bowel movement looked weird and they didn’t even address it at all. I am a Public Health student and I’ve never been so disgusted with the healthcare that they provide. Even though he was vomiting , he was still sent home with meds that didn’t help one bit. I just feel like they don’t genuinely care about their patients and it’s so sad because it’s not the whole staff, just certain individuals that make the hospital look bad!

I recently was an out patient at the Colleton Medical Center. From the time I walked in that morning, through each step and procedures nothing but friendly professional service. They were concerned about my comfort and care. The procedure went great. The staff was so warm, caring but professional throughout my time there. I have told so many people what a great experience I had there. They also called me at home to make sure I was doing good. Thanks to everyone there. God Bless.

Daniel Mock

Took my mother there and it was a total nightmare!! Taking it to the next level now.

I appreciate so much the team in Physical Therapy. They’ve helped me so much. They’re the best! Thanks everyone!

Took my husband for the first time to the ER and everyone was so nice as soon as we walked in. The doctor and nurse were wonderful. I was so pleased with the service and how caring and fast they were.

Darryl Wilcox

It has been a while since I have been there, but I was impressed with the registration process. Everyone was so nice and helpful. GOOD JOB!!!!

Jerry Armitage

I can't speak for in-patient care but the ER department is very knowledgeable, professional, and caring. While traveling up I95 I had occasion to stop at the ER with symptoms of nausea, dizziness, and vomiting. They quickly triage'd me and worked hard to get me on the mend and out the door. They excelled in what they do and I'll take this opportunity to thank them.

This hospital is horrible they lost my insurance card then a year later sent a collection agency after me. I put the collection person in touch with my insurance and my insurance still had all records of this emergency thank goodness. This is exactly the work ethic you find in this city.

Care is not consistent. They are working to make it better. But... Trust has been lost. Some great nurses, some really bad. They are the heart and soul of the experience cause you barely see a doctor.

Walter Smith

This visit was scheduled weeks in advance. When we showed up about 15 minutes early, we had to wait over an hour for the scheduled test. We were told the time had been rescheduled, but no one had bothered to inform us.

K. R.

Maybe you should stop responding to the negative reviews and get the staff more training. I.e. triage, diversity, continued education in respective fields for starters. Theses were pretty serious incidents.. and even knowing that you can't please everyone, these accounts are all very similar. They don't seem like outlier experiences at all! Just my two cents.

Velma Weeks

Very clean, excellent and fast care. Caring and professional. Huge blessing to find such a good er and hospital when on vacation.

Marilyn Faulks

Compassionate and caring service. I went today and was waited on with the upmost professional care. Great customer service in all departments I had to visit. Thanks for being in the community.

Heather Thornton

Went to the emergency room waited 3 hours before my sister who is a toddler to be in the back. They let people that came after us go back & couldn't tell me when she would be seen. Worst service I've ever seen for a hospital. Im never coming here again for an emergency.

Signarama Orangeburg

The doctors and ER were fantastic. NPAS Inc., the billing department, is rude and has an attitude. They are not helpful at all. If you are looking for good card, Colleton Medical Center it great, but be prepared for a battle with the billing department.

Last Saturday I showed up at the emergency room outpatient area early afternoon . I was surprised and relieved that I was the only one in the waiting room / lobby area figured this would be a quick trip.I spoke to the young lady at the registration desk explain to her that all I needed was to have my blood drawn for lab work she told me okay go ahead and have a seat. After roughly 45 minutes at least 15 people came in behind me, some of who were already being called back.I got up approached the young lady and asked her if they had forgotten about or possibly just overlooked me she made comment back that she had already told them that I was still waiting, that she did not know what was going on. after an hour I pulled out my cell phone and I called the hospital got the directory and contacted the lab myself told him who I was what I was doing how long I've been there they had no idea I was even out there waiting while on the phone a young nurse in the waiting room area overheard me, she approached and asked if she could possibly help, I said can you, she said she thought she could. I thanked her and handed her my paperwork. Needless to say, after 1 and 1/2 hours I had a 2-minute procedure done to have blood drawn. Had it not been for that young nurse I may possibly still be sitting there. Wish I had got her name.
