Went to the ER with severe abdominal pain was told it would be a 4 hour wait and the waiting room was packed nowhere to sit. With a new remodel and a city to service you'd think they could do better or at least made a larger waiting area!

Went to the ER today and what a disaster, never saw a doctor, wasn't told that they were over crowded until I had paid my copay, waited for 4 hours just to see a physicians assistant. I will never go back to this hospital again and I feel bad for the seriously injured patients still in the waiting room getting shotty care. What a disgrace.

I've been to this hospital about 6 times last year because of my illness. They directed me to the right specialist and got me healed. I'm so happy they are now penn medicine. The staff is amazing and always friendly.

Recommend Paoli Hospital or Lancaster General over here anyday of the week for baby delivery. Every single employee here has an attitude and talks down to you.

Indranil Bhowmick

The nurses behaved very bad. Not a recommend place to be.

Had cervicial disc replacement, stayed one night and loved the caring, attention the nurse and nurse assistant gave to their patients.

My husband took my 6 week old daughter to the ER with a fever. She was taken back right away due to her age and lack of immune system. We spent 10 days in the pediatric unit with a blood infection, something she had since birth. The staff from the ER to the Peds unit were all wonderful. Thank you to CCH for helping to get my baby get better. Also back in July she was born there, which was also a great experience. I am loving all of the improvements.

Way to long of a wait in the waiting room with my Daughter who got bit in the face by a dog, but people with tummy aches are good to go right when they walk in.

Jane Laycock

Horrible emergency room experience! Brought a friend in with a bleeding wound, checked in and was told to sit and wait. It then took more than 2 hours for the triage nurse to see her for evaluation - shouldn't triage happen right away??? The nurse decided she needed stitches but it took another 3 hours (and several blood-soaked dressings, pillows, etc.) before a PA saw her and stitched the wound. Arrived at 5:20PM; stitches placed in at 10:45PM.

We're still dealing with Billing 6 months after visits and the birth of our kid. A Dr. Aneesha K Dhargalkar billed as a consult instead of an ER visit (we were told to go to the ER, entered through ER and were treated within the ER.) which has caused an insurance nightmare. Additionally, this Dr. treated while being out of network without our knowledge (my wife was seen by 7-10 people that night). One of the two of these would have been fine (according to insurance), but both issues combined have caused our out of pocket expenses to go through the roof and not be applied to our deductible. If you see this Dr. at Chester County hospital I would ask for a different Dr. in Network. I'm not happy with Chester County Hospital or Dr. Aneesha K Dhargalkar in this situation and am still dealing with it 6 months after our kid was born. No one has been any help at all and simply offer to help with payment plans (I prefer not to pay for being ripped off).

I have been a patient of this hospital since I first moved to West Chester from NYC. In all honesty, this place has to be the best hospital I've EVER been to. I've given birth to 3 of my kids there, and the doctors are WONDERFUL! (Dr. Bel-air & Dr. Curry, I forgot the name of the other doctor who performed my other c-sections) Nurses check in on you around the clock, super polite and their bedside manner makes you feel safe, comfortable and with a peace of mind. Ob-gyn department is hands on and VERY helpful in resources as well as making sure you and your baby are in good health. The staff in the emergency department are super amazing as well, aside from a long wait, they get things done. I recently took myself to the ER on 12/30/18 for severe abdominal pain and vomiting, I told them about my gallstones and how I wasn't able to follow up with a surgeon when they first diagnosed me because I was pregnant at the time.. They were understanding, really helpful in getting my pain to subside. One of the nurses also did me a huge favor in speaking to a surgeon who offered to take my case and would allow me to have my surgery taken out this Wednesday and I can't even explain how grateful I am for that! I've been leaving messages with one of the surgeons for the past two months and no callback. This hospital is the best place to go to whether it's the emergency department, ob gyn, labor & delivery.. Everyone here is professional and hands on into making their patients their main priority!!!!

Waited in the emergency room waiting room for 6 and a half hours! Left before getting treated because it was so ridiculous. Was told (2 hours before we left) that we were next up. We were told to ask the nurse if we had any problems but she was barely in the room the whole time. Go to urgent care, don't waste your time here. People were rude too

Marcel Sleiman

No A/C in labor and delivery and the nurses are rude. Asked to be moved to a new room and was informed that they can't as the whole wing has no A/C. I asked for help changing my wife as she has a catheter in and they refused to help. Told her the stuff was in the bathroom while 6 nurses were sitting around doing nothing besides talking. Penn medicine you need to take better care of your patients as they pay your bills. This expansion your doing was paid for by your patients. Poor service, poor attitude, poor patient care in labor and delivery, only wish hospitals weren't monopolies and there were more options.

Please allow me to preface this comment with this: I never give online reviews unless I believe my service was so good or poor it would help others deciding whether or not to use a service / patron a place. If I could give this hospital negative stars I would. From the maternity / recovery ward to the ER in the past 2 years I have had nothing but bad experiences. The most recent experience driving this review follows. After waiting 4 hours in the ER (being told we were “next” and then “oh sorry the room was given away” about every 1.5 hours), we finally saw a PA who spent maybe 10 minutes with us and told us to “go to our doctor” to figure out a diagnosis (even though we were referred to the hospital by our pediatrician to seek immediate care). Not to mention, every nurse we saw had no idea what was going on with our case and was completely misinformed about what was happening. And now, as if we did not suffer enough with the lack of service or care, we just got a significant hospital bill with no explanation, just the bill in the online portal saying “pay this now”. Every single aspect of this hospital is a failure. There are so many excellent hospitals in our region. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra time to ANY other hospital (hi, Paoli!) and save yourself and your bank account the headache of this terrible institution.

Jennifer Little

Worst experience with our toddler. Poor bed side manner, dirty and unsanitary waiting rooms and room, doctors that could care less about their pediatric patient. We went in with our 3 year old for a head injury. After checking in they allowed us to sit in the waiting room, two different times with his vomiting all over himself, the chairs and the floor. I had to wipe this up as they sent no one out to do so and other patients were complaining to the staff about the lack of them not sanitizing this. Once in the room they allowed our child and us to lay/sit in the hospital bed with the sheets and blankets that had vomit on them. Their solution was just to toss a towel over it. There was also dried blood spots on the floor around the bed, which as not from us as they did no blood draws and my child was not bleeding. They came to us with only half of the testing results at one time, the doctor leaving the room after dropping the first part of the news and not ready to answer questions. All the kept saying was we are going to transfer to pediatric hospital and they will take care of everything. Once Dupont arrived they were even shocked at how CCH did not give an IV or have him hooked up to any monitors. The staff we encountered was very vague, not patient or child friendly. The next time we will go straight to a pediatric hospital and bypass Chester County Hospital. I did voice my concerns after the fact and got no response from anyone. After 2 months of not receiving a bill from them, I called. Turns out they had a totally different address than what we submitted, I showed them my driver's license and wrote down our address. The lady in billing could not explain how they had the wrong address. So now our child's medical bills with his info and medical info on it was sent to someone else (violation of personal information)! They never attempted to call me in regards to the bill or find the right address. The woman said that my phone number was not even listed on the account, which I gave them on the date of our visit as well. My son was never seen there before so I am not sure where they got this other address from and why none of it matched the information I provided at our visit multiple times.

I was also born in the Chester County Hospital like so many others. And I would recommend this hospital anytime.

Yaron Gabai

On both occasions that I have had to stay here, the nursing staff have been the most supportive and compassionate that one could hope for. They got me back on my feet in 3 days, when 5 was expected.

Matt Duncan

I can't think of a better community hospital in our area than Chester County- and they only have gotten better being part of U of Penn.

Jim Booth

Had a knee replacement in 11/2016. They billed my insurance incorrectly and numerous calls resulted in them telling me over an dover that I had to talk to my insurance company. I finally got the insurance company to contact them and got it straightened out. Then I got a bill for $800 for copay, which was (finally) correct. I wrote them a letter and offered to pay $400 as a settlement BECAUSE THE FOOD SUCKED SO BADLY I COULD NOT EAT FOR 2 DAYS. No response. Another bill, another letter, no response. Now they sent it to a collection agency. Called the hospital, got "Antonio" who was useless. I'll have to be dying to go back.

Justine Pietrzyk

Worst service. Had to take my sister over night because she drank too much and was complaining she couldn't breathe and was having severe chest pains. Yes I know that it's her own fault but I was nervous and these workers were very rude towards us. Not only did they treat us like we were trash, they were talking about us when the curtain was closed. Every time I asked a question, they were very cocky towards me. Guess these workers chose the night shift because they want money but don't want to do their job

Oh boy, where do I begin with this dumpster fire of a hospital? I’ve been local to the area for a very long time, and to put it plainly and succinctly; I avoid going to this hospital at all costs. Though as we all know life and its emergencies can be unpredictable, so of course I’ve found myself here even when I strongly preferred being elsewhere for treatment and care. That being said, the nurses here are incredibly unprofessional. Whether it be them chatting amongst themselves endlessly, or the fact that most lack the proper bedside manner that should be required of the emergency department in particular. I was literally told I would be kicked out if I didn’t stop screaming in pain. Let that sink in for a second. Not only did they pay little attention to the duress I was in, but they literally threatened to discharge me without even treating me because I was in such excruciating pain that I couldn’t stop screaming and squirming. All the while my girlfriend at the time watched in complete horror as I was ignored. Seriously, if it’s within your ability I would strongly suggest going LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE than here unless you absolutely have to. Paoli Hospital may not have all the bells and whistles, but their staff will undoubtedly treat you better than a majority of the “professionals” here.

This hospital has gone into the toilet since Penn Medicine acquired CCH. They have attempted to do a big city move with the external and internal waiting rooms and it has gained them nothing. The facility is dirty and totally in disrepair now. The walls are beat up and filthy and the surfaces in the ER room my wife was in were dirty. She went in for chest pains and was rushed to the triage, internal waiting room and a room in less then 30 mins. This seemed like progress but when she was wanting to see a doctor this took over 4 hours. Two hours after the nurse said he labs were normal still no doctor came and after ringing the bell twice 15 mins apart to ask what was going on nobody still came. This was once the hospital we opted for and recommended but now we will just go to Main Line Health

Went to the ER last night because I had a sore throat. An x-ray of my chest was taken an hour after I got there, and 3 hours later I heard back from the nurse (not the doctor) that I had pneumonia. Well, they didn't tell me the cause or which type of pneumonia I had, and now I'll have to see another doctor because I'm afraid they gave me the wrong diagnosis.

I'm really disappointed with the Emergency of this hospital. My husband had a pretty bad stomach bug and he was vomiting, having diarrhea and with a super strong pain in his stomach. They checked him in and asked him to seat and wait for over 5 hours to be seeing by a doctor and guess what? We left without seeing any doctor because my husband was so weak that he couldn't wait any longer.., the staff couldn't care less.. And the place is dirty and in need for an update. If you need help try to find a better place.

Julia Loehlein

great nicu!

The doctor came in and tried to diagnose me with stomach virus just to get me out of there. He obviously didn't read my chart or talk to any of the nurses I had just previously told about my surgeries. Then, they lost my insurance card and Driver license! So now I have to go pay for a new one when I literally just paid for one since I'm a new resident of PA. Definitely not going back to this hospital!

During sever abdominal pain, I was hesitant to drive 30 minutes to Chester County Hospital when Jennersville Hospital is right down the street but I am so thankful that I did. The two woman that greeted/signed me in we’re so calm, even while I was moaning and crying in excruciating pain. Every single nurse that came into my room (Jerry, Anna Marie, Susan are all that I can remember at the moment) are unbelievably comforting and checked on my pain as often as they could. Victor wheeled me up to surgery from the ER and you could not imagine a smoother ride and nicer man. Before the unexpected surgery I had done to remove my ovary, all of the nurses, Dr. Curey, and Dr. Beam made me feel at ease, answering any questions that I had in a professional way. Christine was the nurse who greeted me after my surgery and was gentle and sweet as ever, even when the nausea kicked in. Although I wish I had not had this experience in the first place, I am so overwhelmed with the amazing staff at Chester County Hospital. I wish I could personally thank each and every one of them for making this experience the best it could have been.

When I had difficulty finding the name of an on-call physician on a holiday, I was advised to phone the ER. There a nurse with a friendly, take-charge attitude found the information I needed. She had promised to call either way. By so doing, she relieved my pre-surgery angst and quietly made up for a lack at another facility. This adds to my very positive view of a hospital which takes service to the community seriously.

Came in to be seen and was given hostility. When i tried to talk with them they said they will call security... i went back after i was given the wrong medication and got worst. Expect a lawsuit!

Don't go to this hospital. I went to the ER and they took forever to attend my son. He had a horrible fever. They were taking people that came after us and they looked fine while my son was boiling and had a horrible cough.

Manda Saurus

I am currently admitted here and my father was here for several weeks 2 years ago. I have never had a better experience at a hospital when it comes to the staff and feeling like my needs are being tended to and I am being taken care of for my illness. The nurses and nurse assistants are so kind and caring. Ken from the ER and Dana from the West Wing 1 have been so comforting and helpful during my stay. I can't thank them enough for helping me through this rough time.

My husband had knee surgery (torn meniscus) and the communication and staff were amazing, so when I went into anaphylatic shock, we went there to the ER. Triage was good, they got me in right away (I was a hot mess!). The nurse that got me in - Maureen (SP?) - was awesome! And everyone after - nurse Karen, the nebulizer guy Mark, and doctor Donatelli - was amazing. Courteous, nice, funny, kind...it was a pretty scary and intense situation and they all acted with urgency until they stabilized me. I was grateful for them!

My father was taken here with symptoms of a stroke, and spent time in the ER and the “Clinical Decision Unit” overnight. We were very impressed with every one of the doctors, nurses, and technicians that we saw in 24 hours. They were all very thorough - asking probative questions, explaining possibilities and care plans, etc. They were also friendly. The facility is getting some nice expansion work as well. Nice to know it’s affiliated with the Penn Medicine system also!

My wife and I just delivered our baby girl here. Everyone we encountered was knowledgeable and courteous along the way. I have a special place in my heart for the nursing staff that took care of us in L&D and on into the "Mother and Baby Pavillion" after delivery. If a more qualified and compassionate team of professionals exists, I couldn't begin to fathom what that would look like. I honestly could never sing enough praise for these individuals.

Karen Jordan

Our family has found the nursing staff, especially in the hospice wing, ER and gerontology departments (both genders of RN's ) to be unlike any we have ever encountered. Even though we are out of state, we've come to trust their wise counsel and comforting guidance as we have walked along the inevitable aging and dying process of two of our parents. Like so many well-run institutions, it's only the often overlooked, under-appreciated team members who do their work faithfully day by day who matter most. Our many experiences over the long haul have earned Chester Co. Hospital our highest recommendation for anyone looking for more than a quick fix. We are so grateful and hope others could be too.

Brandon Jones

This hospital is terrible. I’ve been here for over three hours waiting on a xray that was supposed to take 45 mins. They are under staffed and can’t seem to get organized in the ER. I would NOT suggest anyone coming here even if it is your last resort because you may end up dying. This is the second time I have experienced this unprofessionalism and I hope that they find some way to organize this place. This is a disgrace and they give hospitals a bad name. Four different people came in asking the same questions so the communication is very poor. They have to get things together or shut this place down. End of story.

Sandeep Sarma

The nurses and doctors were incredibly kind and professional throughout the delivery of my baby son, and were very helpful post delivery as well. They truly seem to care about the patients / mother, and provided true round the clock care for my wife. I cannot ask for more. That being said, their cafeteria services are absolutely horrible. It truly defines “hospital food”. There are two sections of their cafe. Hot meals, are just the most putrid pizza and French fries you can get. There is nothing else here ! This is a hospital, and I was atleast expecting some decent healthy meals. The salad bar has some decent options, but do not expect anything fresh at all. Coffee just tastes like rust water, and if you plan to stay at this hospital, prepare to starve. This cafe is food minus any and all nutritional value. Hope they completely get rid of that cafe services and seriously consider getting rid of any and all staff responsible for this horror show. Why is it so hard to realize that people that are sick and people that are tending to the sick do need meals with some nutrition !!! The hospital management must try eating the slop and goop simmering in a hot bath along with doughy pizza and soggy French fries here. One last positive is that, the prices are very fair, and not over priced.o

Everyone I encountered during my stay were are absolutely great, honest, knowledgeable, genuine group of professionals who all worked very well together and had my best interests at heart.

The staff at the hospital and the service was respectful and helpful enough, however, being billed $852 for a 20 min emergency room visit is obscene. I understand the ER is for emergencies and felt, under the circumstances, my son's passing out in addition to a severe reaction to a tick bite, warranted taking him to the ER at Midnight when he woke me.

Lauren Romero

The cardiac surgery unit is horrifying. My grandfather was a patient in that unit for bypass surgery. The doctor did not listen to any concerns that my grandfather had. He did not listen to the family either. As we watched him decline and continued to ask questions and voice concerns they continued to assure us everything was "normal"..... after 6 LONG weeks of pain/suffering he passed away as he wife of 59 years watched helplessly. TOTAL DISGRACE

John Anderson

I was very pleased with my experience during pre-admission. The staff was very professional, pleasant and helpful. This event has encouraged me to be extremely optimistic with regards to my upcoming surgery. Many thanks again! I had the most pleasant and professional experience one could imagine! Following a major 7 hr. orthopedic spinal surgery by Dr. Mark Tantorski, I experienced a heart attack 2 days later. The staff in the ICU was phenomenal. Their demeanor was spot on and their professionalism excelled in every category. I give Dr. Tantorski my utmost credit with his surgery excellence, followup care and deep concern regarding my rehabilitation. I would go to CCH Penn Medicine for any of my future needs (hope I do not have any) and recommend CCH to everyone. This is one dedicated and class organization.

In for knee replacement 10/15. The presurgical care was great. My doctor was fabulous. From there it was downhill. Daytime nursing care was just ok. I was told they would get me up after surgery. They did not. I saw but 2 ice bags during my entire stay. And they had empty rooms. Further I was never informed of a telephone in my room. I was never given toiletries until I asked for them. Finally I never received a menu. I was only given the choice of two specials of the day. On top of that the food was not that good. Improvement is definitely needed.

If I had only dealt with the Ambulatory Care Ctr I would have given SIX stars! My niece went through that Dept when due had a procedure on Aug. 2,2018. The ACC nurses Cheryl was her nurse that got her all prepped, I am sorry but I cannot remember all the staff that cared for her but I wish they all know how grateful we are! As the ACC staff is fanominal! So comforting to my niece who has no medical knowledge and was terrified. She was taken up on time. Her procedure was scheduled for 10:30 am. She did not go into OR until well after 11:30! Then was held in recovery for extra hour because the hospital had no beds!!! Now I understand delays. That didn't bother me at all. What upset me was the whole time she was on West Wing1 I will worried and wondered what other med or treatment would be messedup orif she is being properly cared for! I was told she would have a scopalamine patch put on in O.R. the med-surg nurse said she never got it! Both myself and my niece repeated to everyone we came in contact with she and several immediate family members get violently sick from general anesthesia! The nurse's reply was " Why bother she looks just fine to me right now! Don't you think? She was STILL unconscious how the heck would I know?!? So I asked if she could get some gingerale and saltines or just plain old clear liquids for today. But NOT before she gets something to stop nausea? Trust me I raised her. She will vomit as soon as she is given any type of food if she does NOT have any "anti-vomit meds! Then later that evening my husband took her teenage daughters to visit her. While there the same nurse gave her a Colase tablet. Of course she started vomiting. The nurse said to my husband "oh that's not a important pill anyway we just won't worry about her taking it". Her boy-friend texted me much later and said she vomited several times while he was there and ate very very little. Later I called nurse's station to check on her. Her nurse was busy so I asked this nurse to double check and see if she may have indeed had the patch in OR. He informed me that (his exact words)!! " The medication for nausea and visit miting was only ordered PRN and she hadn't asked for it. That the POST OP orders! I speak of PRE-OP orders!!!!! Tell me how in the name of God can a person UNDER general anesthesia ask for a medicaton?!?!?!? He also said she had gotten up sat in chair. Yet her boy friend had also told me she hadn't been walked yet! His call came AFTER I spoke to that nurse! Those two inconsistencies weren't the end! The next day when went to pick her up I asked all these questions again and I was given a seriously conflicting answer for each and every single question! It was the same nurse that she had the night before!!!! I became so uncomfortable and Leary about her safety that I just couldn't get her out fast enough!!!

Recent stay in Chester county hospital was a scary learning experience. Their nutrition department leaves a lot to be desired and no one seems to be on the same page regarding your nutritional needs. When you ask to consult with a nutritionist and she gives you a list of foods you can and cannot tolerate you feel you are in good hands. Then the food trays start to arrive and almost everything on them is on your do not eat list. Instead of correcting the problem, the staff gossips about you to your surgeon about your not liking the hospital food. Very happy to be discharged and home but feel for those still hospitalized there and hope they make an effort to improve this vital department.

My son has a history of kidney disease and was in a lot of pain. Check in was great...it was triage that was awful. My son is severely shy and the triage nurse reprimanded for telling me his answer. She also questioned why I didn’t take him to DuPont. Everything was better once he was in a room. Dr.Rosie and Nurse Gina were awesome!! Radiology was wonderful!

So disappointing. My daughter and husband checked in Thanksgiving night for an induction and the night nurse and MD were quite good, professional and caring to ensure she and baby were doing ok. The day nurse was so completely opposite. The dr was incredibly busy so didn’t much of her and it was obvious the nurse wasn’t updating the dr. Nor was she monitoring her progress. She wound up spiking a fever and throwing up. Both kept asking for nausea meds for her to no avail. Dr finally came in to look at her after fever got worse and she tells nurse let’s do some meds for fever and then we will break water. Daughter ask dr if she could have something for the nausea. Dr replies “oh you’re nauseous?” Nurse goes “oh yeah she been complaining about that.” (This is 3 hours after telling nursing staff). Dr tells my daughter “oh I didn’t know you were nauseous. Yeah we’ll get something for that also “ Wasn’t until night nurse and dr came on , an hour or so later, that they noticed the fever getting worse and the babies heart rate was to high. Sane rate while other nurse and dr were there. The new drs came in and decided she needed c-section. They did and she had a beautiful baby boy. But come on. Nursing staff I dealt with were not the friendliness. The cafeteria is by far the worse I’ve ever been at at any hospital I’ve been at. I been at a lot.

The Emergency Room staff was ok...but the Pediatric Department is amazing! They made my daughter's short stay comfortable and easy. The nurses were friendly and endearing which really helped us during this scary time. The play room was great for my daughter and the movie selection put it over the top. They even had iPads for the kids.

The billing department is completely incompetent. Paid my bill in full and they credited the wrong account and then took 4 months to get it fixed. Of course, they sent it to collections! Did they return the credit for the overpaid account....NO! Did they fix it after 4 phone calls! NO!

I just wanted to share my experience at Chester County in comparison to other hospitals. I am from Delaware and most of the times when I, my son, or husband is ill we head to Wilmington or Christiana hospital. However, this particular day my husband, who works in West Chester PA was ill and requested that he go to the emergency room. After I picked him up from work, I google search the nearest hospital which was Chester County. Once we arrived there I was pretty much already sizing it up. The ER waiting room was really small, there was no fast track for patients with non life threatening concerns. After signing in, we sat and waited for awhile.... But then a nurse came out to the waiting room and inquired about my husbands concerns. I'm watching and thinking hmmm. She leaves, we wait for maybe another hour before they take us to the back. I am thinking... Great! we are about to get out of here. Nope. The nurse takes his vital signs at first. Then she looks at his throat. She leaves the room and come back with a PA. Im thinking hmmm. They swab his throat and nose, give him pain meds, and takes us to another waiting room. Im thinking oh no. We wait in that room for another hour. While we are waiting in this room, he gets registered and then wait some more. Theres a nurse in the waiting room! She express to another patient we are working on your room but we have to get this gentleman back first. Another 10 mins past they escort us to an area in the ER. The nurse says I was trying to get you an actual room but unfortunately this is what we have available and we'd like to start the treatment you need. She take us to this area where there are beds pretty much side by side with curtains separating one patient from the next. I'm thinking in disgust "hmmmm". The nurse came in swiftly and took his vitals, placed an IV, Set him up with antibiotics. The Doctor or Physician Assistant came in not too long after, told him he had strep and told him what she'd prescribe him with. We waited maybe two more hours while the IV medications were administered. About an hour into his steroid meds the next shift nurses came on. By this time i was wrapped up in a tiny blanket with my head laying on the nearest thing trying to get some sleep. The nurse comes in, i peak through and see him, he looks at me and reassures us that theres about 20 mins left. Then he says, ya know we can actually shut it off if you are ready to go! Im thinking, hmmm. My husband says YES! and I am thinking thank you GOD As we leave, we see one of the first nurses who had took care of my husband at the time clock waiting to clock out. She saw him and greeted him, she say suprisingly "OH they let you go!!". She went on to ask how he felt and how she hoped he would get better. I thought hmmmm As you can see now, I spent a lot of my time sitting back and observing. I initially wasnt satisfied with the ER in comparison to the ERs i usually go to which is Christiana or Wilmington Hospital. However, from the time we stepped into the ER until the time we left. Every person whom we had encountered and who was available to us seemed like they enjoyed their jobs and it was necessary to help him. I even like the fact that the last nurse took into consideration me being the driver back to Delaware, was tired and gave my fiance the option to continue his treatment with oral medication. I have previously been to Crozer Hospital, Christiana Health Care, Mainline health none of them gave us the interpersonal patient experience that we received at Chester County. Its not the state of the ART ER or the Trauma level you've obtained but the people you hire who love their job and shows it! Thats what people remember. Thats what we remember thank you for a great experience

I was born prematurely here and I'm still alive and kicking, so I would highly recommend it! ER usually isn't crouded so you should be helped fairly quickly. Currently some construction going on in some of their buildings (of which there are many) so make sure you know where to go before you are in an emergency situation.

Chester County Hospital released my entire medical file to a third party completely unrelated to my care. Their privacy officers / management merely shrugged it off, in my opinion. A tepid apology and nothing more. CCH should be held accountable for actions of their employees and service providers. Consumers of medical care, beware! HIPAA did not protect my privacy.

My experience was a good one. They really take care of you and very nice staff

Briana Mazzella

My sister is currently in this hospital in l & d.... and I'm am disgusted at how things are being handled with her! She will forever be traumatized after this experience! It is nothing like I have ever experienced! Water has been broke for over 30 hours, no progress has been made, shes now throwing up.. Its just been terrible for her. If it was up to me, I would have moved her!

Our experience at this hospital was horrible. I will never tell anyone to go to this place!!The wait time and treatment in the ER was so bad and staff is incompetent. If they had treated my dad accurately, the outcome would have been different. The doctors and some of the nurses in the CCU are brash and not caring, the doctor told us that our father was not leaving the hospital alive. Who says that to the family??!!??

Elder Bruce E. Hauser

I have had several appointments and stays at the Chester County Hospital. I can say without reservation that the hospital staff has always been very professional and helpful regardless. I love friendly people and friendly faces and I have always found this at Chester County Hospital.

My mom went to Chester County Hospital yesterday (6/22/15) for some simple testing. She had gone to her primary care physician first and was told to go to CCH for a CT scan. She arrived at the hospital at 11 a.m. and sat for five hours with very little attention or explanation from staff as to why it was taking so long. Other people who arrived later were taken before her. By the time she called to tell me about her experience, she was extremely upset. My mom asked some employees if it was always this bad and they responded "Unfortunately, yes". Wow!I told her to call the head of the hospital but she isn't one to complain. As her daughter, I hereby take it upon myself to speak for her. I hope PENN is able to straighten that place out because over the years I have heard less than stellar reviews!!!

The registration lady gave us warm blankets while we were in the waiting room, we were so grateful.

My niece was terminated from this hospital after reporting discrimination harassed and bullied. Why would HUP link there name to a hospital like Chester County Hospital that stands behind fraudulent and hate. A hospital is a place that suppose to love care take care of people and have some kind of integrity not to gang up on there staff, that’s says a lot about how this hospital take care of there patients and the people that’s running Chester County Hospital. Don’t put and employee hand book out to your employees that talks about domestic violence discrimination and bullying when your company doesn’t stand behind the facts it’s called affirmative action! If you support hate evilness bullying and name calling Chester County Hospital is the place for you to go

Would never reccomend giving birth here, had the worst experience here. The staff and doctors were horrible. I wish i could have just walked out. It was traumatizing. My child was physically harmed. Upon leaving I had to actually help myself because the nurse who pushed me down almost dumped me on the ground, bumped into things several times a d could not help lift me. I had wrote a long letter and nothing was done as I can tell. My first birth was at women's and babies in lancaster and was magnificent and I'm so blessed to have had a really fantastic first birth. Unfortunately this second birth was horrible. Happy my husband and I are completed with our two sons as a family and will no longer have to deal with future problems such as this. Please go elsewhere to give birth and be seen.

BEWARE!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL I've been to this hospital several times and it has always been the worst experience of any hospital I've been to. They reset my femur incorrectly which has led to a lifetime of leg/back pain. Another time I had a huge cut on my elbow and I told them I had MRSA before, but they turned me away. I had to come back the next day for Vanco treatment because the infection came back uncontrollably. My friend's dad had a stroke and they didn't even keep him overnight! Absolutely the worst hospital ever! I'd recommend PAOLI hospital - they are Much more competent

Charlotte Bender

Awful. Came into ER and it took 5 hours to be seen by a doctor. Nurse came in saying sh was scared of getting the flu left and that was the last she was seen from. Everyone was very unaccommodating and it took forever. Not to mention the ER itself is very outdated.

Melissa Mastrippolito

They ignored my high blood pressure after childbirth and I had a stroke.

Andrea Felkins

Quick response ... Have long since given up on Paoli where we have sat for hours. Will update after treatment.

Justin Colella

Family has been going here for years, we are so surprised by the lack of knowledge of staff members. Perhaps it is the Penn change over. We are truly shocked. Seen very few doctors the nurses all give us conflicting information. There are some really good ones, but also some that seem clueless.

The entire staff is amazing and extremely helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure that son was comfortable and had everything he needed. Christin kept him full with snacks and junk food. They even played games with him. This really isn't a child friendly hospital but the staff here make will convince you otherwise. Sean the security officer heard that I am a truck driver and made room for my tractor trailer close by. I wish I knew he did that. That was awesome. You guys are the best. Thank you for all that you do.

ICU nurses are unprofessional, the older nurses should retire at this point since they have lost their empathy for human life. My friend went in for toxic shock. He wasn't lucid at first. When he came to he could respond with nods since he was RESTRAINED and had a breathing tube. When he knew what was going on he wanted the restraints off when I removed his restraints to stretch his arms a nurse reprimanded me as if i was a child . She then restrained him again after he nodded he understood and would not touch his breathing tube she ignored him and tied him back up liked a wild animal. 4 hours I visited not one nurse stretched him just left him their tied up in one spot for hours .Very unprofessional!!! I could tell you more disturbing information but I'd have to write a short novel. Go some where else if possible.

Dan Shields

I’m voting again because this hospital is terrible. Deserve no stars.

Can't relate i was born in that hospital maybe one day i will go and visit

If I could give this hospital a 10 I would !! By far the most amazing hospital! Every staff member is beyond amazing and very nice ! My mother has been in multiple hospitals and this one is the best! The care the nurses have is unbelievable you don’t find that very often anymore. The doctors do every test to figure out what is going on. Highly recommend this hospital for you and or your loved one! I feel comfortable leaving my mother there when she gets admitted. It is also a very clean environment.

My 94 year old grandmother was taken here for a UTI and atrial fibrillation. This place was unable to get the afib well under control, but decided to let her out anyway because it was a holiday and they were short-staffed. AFTER she was picked up to be taken home, the hospital changed her prescription and medication dosage. You couldn't have done this before she left?! It's a federal holiday! The closest pharmacies that are still open are an HOUR away from where she lives. Please hire some competent staff so others don't have to put up with this.

I stayed in the Labor and Delivery unit for 4 nights for an unfortunate reason; I was delivering my baby boy at only 19 weeks gestation. Ever since arriving to the ER on a Sunday morning, I was told our baby wouldn't make it. My husband and I were completely devastated. All of our hopes and dreams for our little one crushed. However during our stay, all of our nurses were beyond caring, kind, and truly connected with my husband and me. I needed so much help from them moving around with my IV bags. They were always so eager to help. My husband and I are so grateful for that amazing nursing staff during the most difficult time of our lives. We can't wait to return to deliver a healthy baby in the future

Carlos Ramirez

This hospital is very unprofessional and not caring. Takes a long time to be seen. When you do get seen the nurses and doctors do the bare minimum to help with your condition.

I have had many experiences at Chester County Hospital over the last 40 years. My husband worked in wound care and was chief of podiatry. Dr G Ruggierro Treats the residents in the group homes that I started about 45 years ago and my family.I always opted to send my group home residents to your facility but now I must doubt that decision. One of my resident had a syncope episode and staff called 911 .He went to the hospital and arrived at 8:41. I got there shortly after and was going to sit with him as I have done with all of our residents who have been treated at your facility. At some point the machine measuring his BP, Pulsox and respiration etc started flashing as the numbers were low.I was scared and asked the nurse if he could have a drink or be put on iv fluids as this was usually the solution for his problem . She said that she could not do anything without the Drs recommendation. As I was frightened and he was growing worse when the attendant came in to take him for an xray i began to ask her for help also .The nurse came in and yelled at me saying I wasn't allowed to speak with this person.I answered that my concern was my resident and I just wanted help. She gave me all the reasons I was wrong to try to speak in this man's behalf . I then assured her that this was going to go in our state Hicsus report. Then she began to threaten me and said I would be thrown out if I said another thing. I did not open my mouth or speak to her again. She brought in the security guard and told us both that if I spoke like that to her again I was to be thrown out .I was quite shocked but said absolutely nothing. My only proof of my side of the story is ,I have been at your facility at least 50-100 times both as a patient and care giver and have never had such a problem.I truly believe she has real and sincere issues.Thank goodness the Dr came in and handled the health issues and my resident was sent home .I left as soon as our nurse for the day arrived which was before the discharge. He stated her heard her at the desk discussing how loud and awful my behavior had been. I guess you could say the same for her as he heard her complaints as well. One of our major differences was that I was advocating for a sick disabled man who can not speak for himself and she was advocating for herself.

I have been there for myself (mostly deep cuts) and other members of the family, like my wife, with high BP problems. The personnel is excellent and we have been treated kindly and professionally. West Chester Hospital is an excellent health care facility.

Poor care, Poor service and most of all lazy, unenpathetic, entitled people waiting for a paycheck. These SAME PEOPLE talk about Blacks like we are degenerates but I am realizing its them trying to continue to perpetuate this hostile and negative about people of color, especially Black people. I am truly hoping they all doctors, nurses, cleaning people, all the way

I have been to the E.R. at this hospital pleanty of times and every time im disappointed! I went in with my mouth in pain, not able to sleep for a week, i waited for 4 hours to go back and wasnt even placed in a room! Doctor revised me in the hallway and all she gave me was an ibuprofen and sent me home!! Im still in pain i cant sleep or eat. 10 lbs (lost) later im still in pain. This hopsital is only good to the convenience of THEMSELVES!

Shane Miller

Their ER is a joke. Your better off just going to an urgent care if you can, or taking the time to drive to a real hospital.

The Kearneys

Have been waiting in the Chester County ER for more than 3 hours with someone in severe pain. A nurse came in and said it’s just the season and many people have been waiting over 3 hours and then laughed. Disappointed, frustrated, and angry. Would never recommend coming here if you have any other choice.
