I've been to this ER 3 times in 2 days. My condition has been more than horrible. I have to go back AGAIN, see a different doctor and write a grievance. They haven't helped my condition at all. Don't recommend this hospital, although the staff is super friendly.

Manuel Orozco

The staff at this hospital are awesome. Answered all our questions and even thanks to the nurse. shannon who had awesome customer service, comunication and not to mention knew how to set up the x box. Thank you shannon and staff who were awesome

Mais Jasim

They have excellent doctors but horrible nurses

STRONG HEART

This is the worst hospital I've ever been in. Completely incompetent staff from case manager to nurse. I just got transferred today to a SNF and they didn't send my perscriptions with me. I will probably end up in the ER again in a few hours because of these people. Also while I was there I was treated poorly because I would not settle for just any facility to transfer too, so they had to keep me a few more days and actually work to find me a facility that would give me proper care. I was even acused of using illegal drugs and security came in the middle of the night and searched my property only to find that I didn't have any( of course). I suspect they were grasping at straws for a reason to be justified in discharge immediately. Beware of this place for it looks and operates on the surface like a great hospital, but in fact it is a terrible place. I wish I didn't have to rate it one star because it should get zero

If possible before going there, make sure anything and everything they do such as labs, x-rays, doctors etc....are within your insurance network. I found out the hard way; they contract with doctors and outside labs etc...Honor Health essentially is renting their building out to outside contractors. Response to the response....How would a person know your facility uses one pathology lab? Should I have asked while laying in the bed? Did I have options? Would you have treated me if I said don't use that lab? Your contracts with various vendors needs to include verbiage prohibiting the vendor denying any insurance companies.

Had 2/3 babies here and loved my experience!! The drs and nurses were amazing and so helpful and kind. I had my 1st at paradise valley hospital and the drs/my nurses were amazing but some of the NICU nurses were just horrible and shouldn't have worked with babies

Tracey Walter

I was in the ER from a toxin. I was treated like I was stupid. the triage nurse was very rude and impatient I am appalled by the treatment and lack of compassion I checked myself out and left

The staff at this facility was absolutely AMAZING starting with the ER Nurse all they way to housekeeping on the floor. My mom has been in many hospitals over the last 5-10 years and this facility had the best care out of all of them. The room was amazing, hospital grounds and facilities were beautiful. However, the medical professionals were even better!

I needed emergency surgery and they diagnosed me correctly and saved my life. I’m a physician myself at the VA hospital Phoenix. They saved my life the nursing care and staff were friendly and professional. The food was excellent more like at a hotel then at a hospital. I can say this was the best hospital food I ever ate.

Forget the strange 1 star reviews for this place because it is a great hospital. Nurses work hard, and every nurse has a bad day at some point in the world because they deal with people like us. The whole staff was very caring and knew how to get things done, especially considering the overflow they are currently dealing with due to a recent nearby OB hospital shutdown. Highly recommend this facility. Likely one of the better ones in the nation. Give credit where much credit is due.

Chris Ronson

Weekday staff is great but weekend staff leaves a lot to be desired, especially RN Ivy. So rude never once smiled or even checked in. Constantly having to locate her. Definitely not someone who enjoys caring for others.

We welcomed our son at this place. Nurses are super helpful- Emily, Jeana, Barbi and others cared well and taught us lots of useful tips.

There are no words to express the level of gratitude my family and I have for the staff (nurses, doctors, therapists, transfer team) in the ICU at the HonorHealth Shea medical hospital. We have never met a more caring, compassionate, dedicated group of people. We are from Canada and my mother was immited to emergency while down here. My sister and I flew out here to be with her and my dad. While in the ICU, these incredible individuals provided unbelievable care for my mom and we are forever grateful. They even helped facilitate her transfer back to a hospital in Canada, where I hope the level of care can be matched. Our most sincere gratitude and thanks to a certain few nurses and therapists that spent the majority of time caring for her. Dawn, we truly felt you were part of our family; you demonstrated a level of compasion and care for my mom and always took care of my family. Kristof and Sarah, thank you for going above and beyond your jobs in providing the level of care that you did. Thank you to all the nurses and therapists who spent countless hours caring for my mom (Matthew, Carla, Esther, Sommer and any others that I may have missed, sorry). You truly are a blessing and we can't thank you enough. From my family to you all, a genuine thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Extremely High Blood Pressure 202/118 in ER. Doc did not want to give me anything as he was afraid it would make me worse. Just told to call my cardiologist as soon as his office opened. They did take blood tests which at that time showed NO STROKE BUT WHY DISCHARGE A PATIENT WITH BP OF 177/102 AND NOT TAKE A CHEST XRAY WHEN SOB. NOT REALLY GOOD MEDICAL CARE

Mark van Ark

3 day hospital stay in hell. While some nurses and doctors were friendly and kind, nurse Kara was not. I’m not sure if it was because she was pregnant and I was a flu patient or if she was just a mean person. Either way, as a patient you deserve a certain level of care. I understand that there are many patients in need at a hospital but there is no excuse for forgetting to give the patient their proscribed medications. She even unattached my IV trying to adjust it. After she disconnected it the fluid soaked me and my bed. Her solution was to hand me a towel and throw it in the trash. Read the reviews before you go and you will understand there is a problem there. Drive the extra distance if you can to a better facility!

I am totally impressed, not only with the care my husband has received, but how though the pre-op procedure was. This hospital deserves five stars as does the staff that works there. Caring and compassion is number one.

Went here about a year ago and I don’t think They think HIPPA applies to them. I told the staff multiple times that I would like my diagnoses told by me and me only to my loved ones. The doctor didn’t care, walked in, asked me if that was my boyfriend. At the time I said yes, and then he continues to blurt out my condition with no care in the world to who was in the room, even after I asked them not to. I attempted to contact the hospital many times, left messages. Nothing. They don’t care about the patient. At all. If you can I would say go elsewhere.

I wanted to know where to park for a specific appointment. The receptionist was short and unpleasant. The response was vague and did not offer any value.

I was shocked by the low average rating this excellent facility received.. We had our 2nd baby in HonorHealth Shea a week ago. We had nothing but great to say about our experience - top of the line equipment, spacious and comfortable rooms, top quality and effectiveness of care provided by their staff, great meal services, and all the other good things too many to recall. Thank you HonorHealth Shea!

Had to have surgery and spend the night I have had a few years ago an unpleasant experience with this place but they were not honor health at that time. This time from the moment i walked in the door til I left everyone was so helpful and pleasant. My daughter also said it didn't matter who she came in contact with there, everyone was helpfuland pleasant to her and the kyds. I do not want to have to go back to a hospital but if I ever did I would hope it is there. Great job!!!

Amazing staff and doctors! At 42yrs old, I have had 2 heart attacks. Always gone to Banner. Went to Scottsdale Shea Medical with severe chest pains and they found the problem within hours. I am now scheduled for aortic valve replacement in 3 weeks. After 2 heart attacks and coding the first time, Banner didn't even bother looking into the issue. The doctors are awesome and everyone is extremely friendly. This is the only hospital I will ever return to and my fear of open heart surgery isn't as bad knowing that I have a surgeon who cares.

Jill Murphy

I am putting two stars because the staff here is great, they have a good attitude and are super sweet. Something has definitely changed in the L&D department though. I have been on the induction list for five days, which wasnt a list at first, it was a scheduled induction and i have been told repeatedly that they would be calling me in soon. I have called the hospital a couple times just to check in on whats going on since i havent heard from anyone and am now being told my induction “wont be any time soon, we are too busy”. Because its considered an elective induction i am not important enough. At this point i dont even need an induction though, i am in labor with painful contractions 5-7 minutes apart, my membranes have separated, and was sent home by them yesterday (in spite of being on the induction “list”) and told to come back when theyre 2-3 minutes and i cant walk talk or breathe through them, and my water has broken (i live 30+ min from the hospital). Only 15% of women’s water breaks before going into active labor, i might add, some womens water breaks while pushing, and i have only ever had my water break in the hospital. They sent me home without making me walk for an hour and checking for cervical changes, which is abnormal also. My doctor is totally appalled and apologetic, unfortunately there isnt much she can do besides advocate for me. She doesnt work for the hospital she just delivers there so it isnt her call whether they let me in. I should also add the enormous discrepancy in pelvic exams between my doctor and the OB nurses. My doctor says 4cm 80% effaced, the nurse at honor health says 3cm 60% effaced. The only thing i can think of with the discrepancy is that the nurses are either inexperienced, doing th exam incorrectly, or have some reason to say im not as dilated and effaced as my doctor says i am (still not sure what that reason could be, but it seems something is definitely wrong with things at L&D, be it not enough staff or whatever it is, i have never heard of a labor ward not having enough beds to accommodate births especially as big as this hospital is, but i dont know the ins and outs and am willing to accept that). My doctor said this type of thing used to happen maybe once a month and its now happening week after week, every day. This is private medicine after all, is it not? I pay for my visit/birth/stay, and i pay A LOT for my insurance, this is not socialized medicine. I feel like an unimportant numbered sow or cattle, pushed to the back of the line, and i literally cant afford to keep going in and being sent home knowing i am in labor and being told its not enough labor. I totally understand that i am not the only woman having a baby, but something seriously needs to change with their staffing- or something- whatever has changed to cause them to be “too busy” over the years to have a woman in labor get a little help along, because if they cant accommodate peoples needs theyre going to lose business (makes me sick that birthing a human is a business transaction but thats sort of beside the point, although again, this IS private medicine and i AM paying for this hospital to have my baby in). Or maybe theyre banking on the fact that people will come no matter what so they dont have to be accommodating, hospitals will make money no matter what. If i could choose another hospital at this point, I would, but its the only hospital my doctor practices at. She will in turn be losing patients because of whatever mess is going on at this L&D department. Super disappointed. And concerned that when i go back, in labor still, i will be sent home again.

I had surgery at the Scottsdale Honorhealth Surgery Center 2 weeks ago. I was super scared and nervous about the operation. Everyone was so compassionate and kind to me. Thank you so much for the excellent care you guys provided me! The ladies who registered me, the pre-op nurses- Mary and 3 others took care of me, all were great! The anesthesiologist was awesome! My doc, Dr Wilson, and her asst, Kurt, who performed the procedure perfectly! The post-op nurses- Sam, Laura, Katie, Julie! You all were fantastic! Thank you! And also Susie in the PATTS dept who talked to me over the phone ahead of time to let me know what to expect. She was awesome too!

Ryan Joseph

The triage nurse Bob in the ER is absolutely horrible. Talks loudly so that other people can hear what's going on, there is no privacy. Then randomly accuses someone of moving around with the blood pressure cuff because it took an inaccurate measurement. Major HIPPA violations with the way he handles stuff and well be reporting to the state. Would like someone to reach out to me.

Sucks when I do more note taking and vitals than the nurses.... when patient wakes up with vitals at 88/33 at 2am, and labs are promised which don’t Show up till the afternoon.... after a surgery that removed an organ. Come on! Combat lifesaver training paid off 11 years later. The surgeon was magnificent though. Flawless surgery. Post op experience was garbage.... If you have to have surgery here, please do yourself a favor, transport to Osborn...

Justin LaClair

Great place to have a baby. They really take care of everyone. Even the dad's are looked after. Very happy with the whole experience.

Better than Banner. About all that's positive. I expected better care in an upscale location, leaning upon demographics. I sought ought better care. Guess I'll keep on looking. Off to Mayo next time. On the positive, I did escape without MRSA or C-diff. Lucky me. Suggest to anyone that if you find yourself in such a facility, don't be passive or they'll let you languish.

Literally cracked a front tooth in half while eating. The pain that followed was excruciating. I am in the valley to paint my sister's house Making my dentist roughly an hour away and closed at 9pm. The doctor Mrs. Holland said "go see your dentist..I explained the situation and she states most dentists have emergency services. Right except mine is in payson and its 9pm. She then tells me to get orajel and some kind of fake filling to cover the whole in my front tooth as if anything regarding my appearance is of upmost importance in the moment. As usual everyone is treated like a pill popper because of some idiots. Despite seeing my tooth HALF GONE and face swollen

I had surgery this week at the Scottsdale Shea Hospital. After surgery I was transferred to my room on the second floor, 2163. I cannot say enough good things about the care I got from the nurses on this floor. They were excellent, superb, informative, attentive to my needs, sensitive, kind and very caring. I came away from this experience feeling better, healing from my surgery and grateful for the excellent care by my doctor and the medical staff at this hospital. It was extremely clean and everything was very professional. The food was terrible.

Inexcusable experience here. First, I will say that most people who work at honor health are polite. They try their best to smile and be cheerful, and do a decent job of it. However, that doesn’t outweigh the fact that my daughter was almost taken in for a surgery that was NOT explained to us beforehand. My 18 year old daughter was hospitalized for a week. The doctor who was assigned to us told us that she would need a muscle biopsy using needle aspiration ... a simple procedure using local anesthesia and a small needle. Just a little soreness for a few days. The night before the biopsy the surgeon (who was to perform the procedure) came up to my daughter’s room and had her sign a consent form. Absolutely nothing was explained to her except that she could not eat or drink after midnight and all day the next day until surgery in the late afternoon. I had gone home to change clothes, so I missed the surgeon. We were both under the impression that this muscle biopsy would be exactly as described by our assigned doctor. When I arrived back at the hospital later that evening, my daughter mentioned that she had signed the consent forms and that she had been told not to eat or drink after midnight. I asked why that would be the case, since the needle biopsy just required a local anesthesia and is extremely quick. She didn’t have an answer. She said nothing different than what our original doctor represented had been explained to her. I asked the nurses. They thought it was VERY strange as well (several of them said so), but they didn’t have an answer, and couldn’t get ahold of the surgeon for an answer. When I asked our assigned doctor the next morning as he was making his rounds if they had changed their minds and were going to do a general anesthesia instead he said that HE didn’t know either. I said I was not going to have my daughter go through with the surgery until we both knew what was going on. General anesthesia is a risk that needs to be weighed against the benefits, and no one had mentioned anything about it to us. They said the surgeon is not available to talk with or answer any questions until pre-op. So we had been waiting 14 hours (with no food or drinks) and absolutely no answer by the time I finally talked to the surgeon literally minutes before she was to be whisked away for a surgery I HAD NO IDEA about!!!! I asked if they were doing a general anesthesia and the surgeon said yes. I asked why, if it was just a needle aspiration. The surgeon explained that they weren’t doing a needle aspiration (this was literally the FIRST time either my daughter or myself had heard that!), but that he was going to take a fairly large chunk of muscle from her leg, and it would leave about a three inch scar. She would have a months’ healing time and general anesthesia. I asked him why no one had explained this to either of us and he said he was just the “machine” behind the decisions and he just did what they told him to do!! He actually said that! We got the general doctor who had been assigned to us on the phone at that point, and he explained that they thought they might need a larger chunk of muscle to get the material they needed for the biopsy. I asked why we couldn’t do the needle biopsy, and he said we still could and hopefully we would get answers with that, but that they just thought a bigger chunk of muscle would give them a better chance. Ummm... excuse me but shouldn’t the PATIENT be a part of that decision???? The risk of general anesthesia, plus the lengthy healing time, plus a huge scar and we could probably get the same results from a needle biopsy!! In the end we decided that the needle biopsy was less risky and the way to go and I called off the general surgery. It was absolutely unbelievable to me (and absolutely inexcusable) that we weren’t informed of this until literally minutes before the surgery. Talk about lack of communication within the hospital and “dropping the ball”. I’m writing this to warn people that you MUST ask questions and be your own advocate. Unacceptable, Honor health!!!

My mom was here after she felt down in the shower and the staff really went above and beyond to comfort her. Thanks so much.

My husband was brought to the ER 9/11 and to this day they refuse to release his records almost a year

This hospital has gone downhill over the past 2.5 years as the ER doctors urgently need to be replaced. I have filed two complaints the past two years as I was released with Pneumonia even though I went there 4 times in one week. Plus I have asthma and they let me suffocate 3 hours in the waiting room. My doctor even urge that I return to ER after they released me. On the 3rd time I had to get loud and demand an x-ray only then did they find the pneumonia. I returned a 4th time for more shots to help breathe. Honestly felt they should had admitted me at the 3rd return. A year later I had a dislocated joint & the ER doctor claimed all was okay. I informed the doctor who was rude immediately to me and rolling her eyes as i explained my joint was out of place. The joint was dislocated for 5 days. A primary doctor popped it back in place and I had to take physical therapy for a year and be referred to a specialist both of which said the X-rays from the hospital were useless! She the ER doctor should have released me with steroids to help the inflammation also. The joint dislocated was my jaw!!! Imagine not being able to close your mouth, talk or eat for 5 days. Be careful this is not a proper ER anymore and honestly it needs to be shut down so do complain to all higher authority. Also should be noted that both Honor hospitals share the same doctors. Seems they hire any doctor they can sub-contract out to. I feel it’s best to go to a hospital where their doctor is an employee. I tried to go to the other location due to the declining poor service only to then discover the same doctor. I was recently getting some routine bloodwork done and I heard patients discussing how he will go anywhere but Honor Health. This man was about 64 and this reminding me I better post my experience. I see if you filter out all the newest reviews they haven’t had a positive one in over 1.5 years!!!!! Yet they continue to respond as if they are doing something about it. The CEO needs to be fired at this point. Marketing and also their case Management Team for not doing proper investigations into the doctors & complaints filed. Keep speaking up! Demand change.

Self pay? Forget it. They will screw you out of money. Had an incompetent doctor who mislead me into getting tests and an ultrasound I didn't need, only to find out the ultrasound would never have given me the information I was told it would - which was the whole reason I agreed to getting it done. Miscommunication between the front desk to the nurse, from the nurse to the doctor, from the doctor to the supervisor... I asked at the end of my visit when I realised everything was completely wrong... and my nurse had no idea why I was even in the room in the first place because there was no communication with the front desk on the reasons why I came into the visit, so the whole time the nurse and the doctor actually had no idea why I'm there and just started trying to run a bunch of tests that I didn't want done and DID tests that I wouldn't have even consented to had I been asked to do them. And guess what - those tests are going on my bill! My main problem was with the doctor misleading me into a roughly $1,000 ultrasound I didn't need, and the supervisor admits the doctor has no idea what he's talking about but still argues with me and tells me I'm wrong. The facility bills separate from the doctor so good luck disputing any charges billed from the doctor. You can expect the facility to try to make sure they collect their part of the bill, though. The doctor knew exactly what the diagnosis was from the minute I walked in there, but no... hours of time and thousands of dollars later, we've been mislead into a huge bill. Worst part of it all is that when I talked to the doctor and the supervisor they just point fingers at you and even though they have no logical argument to defend their actions because they knew they were completely in the wrong.... they continued to blame it on me and come up with illogical excuses for their actions that were completely off topic, like arguing with a child. They won't listen to reason or logic. Fact is I should've never been given any of those tests and I was completely mislead about the results of the ultrasound, and they know it. But they refuse to admit it and just carry on scamming people. I will never come here again.

If there was a zero star rating I would definitely give my most recent trip to Honorhealth Shea ER zero stars. I have lived in the area for almost 30 years and this has been the closest hospital. We've been to this hospital many times and it's always been *fine* but this past visit was horrible. I had hurt my knee very badly and it was unable to bear any weight without intense pain and buckling. I was there for 6 hours. They did xrs and put my leg in a splint BELOW my knee and tried to discharge me like that. When I pointed out that the concern was my actual knee, they tore the splint off, put a brace on gave me crutches and told me I was free to go. I'm not a young woman and I am heavy. This, coupled with the pain medication made me actually being able to crutch myself out of the belly of this huge ER department pretty impossible. I asked for a wheelchair and it took almost an hour plus dealing with yet another angry nurse to finally get out to my car to go home. saw the actual doctor for about 3 minutes. The rest of the time I was "cared" for by the most surly, uncaring nurses I've ever had the misfortune to deal with in my life. This hospital has essentially been my neighborhood hospital for a very long time. It breaks my heart that the quality of care and the actual medicine practiced here has declined to such a degree.

Craig Milbourn

My PC physician works for Honor Heath. Her name is Dr Madonna Mallari and for over 10 years she's still the best Doctor I've ever had! Also the way the practice is run makes it a pleasure to visit. Efficient, professional and a caring support team.

Phenomenal staff in the Triage and Birthing Center. Made my wife feel extremely comfortable and at ease! Mariel N was our delivery nurse and Dr Kelly Helms our OBGYN! Jordan, our nighttime nurse was great as well. Once moved to the 3rd floor for post delivery the kindness, attention to detail, and constant availability to help was non stop. Highly recommend this location! However, once discharged the last person to enter the room was a lady from billing. My wife in pain from post labor, the baby crying and she is asking for a balance to be paid! The last impression dampened the mood. Honor Health, JUST mail the bill instead of sending a rude person with zero empathy to collect a bill! Even the nurses were disgusted by this. Still get 5 stars in my opinion but that lady pissed me off and was told to beat it!! Figure out a way to fix this! And figure out a way to give your nurses a serious raise! They do more for your patients and families than I think you all realize!!

My daughter recently had her 3rd baby at the Honor Health Scottsdale Shea birthing center. I was able to be in the room for the entire labor and after delivery . I was amazed at the quality of care she received. Every nurse she had (they changed shifts while she was in delivery) was kind, compassionate and competent. The doctors (anesthesiologist & OB) were friendly, communicating each procedure. They were patient and non condescending-very personable, yet competent. The facility was clean and family friendly. There was plenty of room for additional family members in the room. My daughter and her family enjoyed the food. I was truly impressed with the excellent quality of care.

I recently was in honor health on Shea for 5 days and they sent my insurance an Out Patient Bill Which should have been an IN Patient bill so of course I am getting bills from doctors etc But as an In Patient all would be paid in full they my insurance As an out Patient they r all coming to me I was told legally after 3 days u r an In Patient but the billing supervisor named Heather is not being helpful in getting this straight I pay a lot of money for my insurance and am not paying for their mistake I was IN the hospital for 5 days with Pneumonia How do they think that’s observation or Out Patient I will Never go to that Hospital again Just awful they can do this

David G

First time daddy and this place was amazing. The nurses were helpful in every way imaginable. Before our baby came HonorHealth offers free classes for me parents that were so helpful. Also, the rooms, food, and supplies have been great. Thank you to the doctors and the nurses here.

Charrie Wagner

God Bless this entity, helpful as always.

Nice, actually listen... etc. Tell kev and liz I love them

Best staff I have ever encountered. I have unfortunately been in the care of quite a few hospitals in the last 2 years with major surgeries and most recently cancer. I have never been cared for as well as I have here. All of my doctors, nurse practitioners, and especially the nurses and aids are well coordinated and held to a much higher standard. I wouldn't go anywhere else now.

Lurdaren storm

We are from Canada and the hospital and staff are like being at a high end resort for us. Amazing compared to Canada :)

Chris Elkins

The hospital gave us an estimate of what labor and delivery would cost, and we ended up paying about 3 times as much because of all the hidden fees they didn’t disclose to us. I would avoid this hospital at all costs.

Pierce

Waiting rooms were alright. Did not mind going here. I don't like the sight of blood, but that's my problem. 5 stars.

Hailey V

The discharge staff is beyond rude. I would never recommend visiting this ER. I requested an anti neausea after a DTAP (tetnus shot) they provided and although it was same day I was told I need to come back in and pay another $500 copay. Highly disgusted by the staff when I called was hung up on after simply requesting zofran to keep food down.

Danielle Houchins

Thinking about flying back to MD to go to John Hopkins. The competence and pace are lacking. Been here twice now. One diagnoses from one doctor to another differs completely. Relying mostly on what the other says before them instead of listening.

Edit: The amazing patient relations coordinator, Maureen, helped me SO quickly, I can't believe it! Thank you! Original review: This isn't a review of the Medical Center itself, but of one of its doctors, Dr. Bayer, and a company that works there, Scottsdale Emergency Associates (whom, with a Google search, you can tell they scam all their customers). My cheek started to feel swollen very suddenly, so I went to the ER. Dr. Bayer examined me for about a minute and said she didn't see anything wrong, and to come back if it happened again. That's fine. HonorHealth billed me around $260. They didn't do anything but take a look at my cheek and tell me to go home, but I don't mind, because I know there are administration costs, etc. But then I was billed by Scottsdale Emergency Associates separately as a level 4 emergency (for reference, a nosebleed would be a level 1, and a heart attack would be a level 5; and I was billed at this same hospital as a level 3 for over an hour of care and an IV painkiller). $1300. For two minutes of the doctor's time. HonorHealth, I love you guys---BUT PLEASE, stop hiring these scam artists.

Had a horrible experience here in Sept 2018 in the maternity area of the hospital. This was the birth of my first child and from my first night there almost every single nurse I encountered was HORRIBLY rude and would not listen to my wishes or my families wishes. My mother is a nurse and has been a nurse for OVER 40 years and I value her opinion very much and when I asked the nurses to please respect her and answer her questions they either ignored me or told me they where my caretaker and that was that, I had ONE very very lovely nurse the night I was in labor she was very very helpful and I appreciated her so much. But overall my visit was horrible. I was not tended to, C section wound got infected, I didnt recieve my meals most of the time from the cafeteria and when I brought it up to my nurse was told she had other patients and didnt know what else to tell me. They FINALLY helped me get something to eat when I called my mom crying because I was hungry, tired, and trying to take care of my son. I would call my nurse for help with my son and no one would come more than one time. I have to go back to this hospital cause its one of the only ones my OBGYN Dr is on call at , I really really hope this visit is better than the last

I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN TREATED BETTER. ACTUAL HOSPITAL STAFF WAS PERSONABLE AND QUITE KIND. THE FOOD TASTED LIKE A GOOD RESTAURANT! SUZANNE GABRIEL FROM A FEW YEARS BACK..

The best part of your facility are the volunteers! Which is sad to say, because they are doing a service out of the kindness of their hearts and DON’T get paid. Then the staff & workers that are paid to do a career as a “licensed”professional service are terrible. There’s too much to be said of our experience there and how awful it was. And frankly, I’m so sick of how much healthcare has gone downhill to discuss it. But in short this is what happened...My mom was to have a heart procedure done and this was the third time being “rescheduled”. We arrived there and she was taken back by staff to get ready and be prepped. Once she was ready to go, we waited FOUR HOURS! Then just to be told her procedure had to be canceled and that the physician who was suppose to be telling this information to my mom himself, would be calling her that night at home to discuss the situation. Then they took out her IV and discharged her. Well he never called her!!! And it’s been 4 days now, and she STILL hasn’t heard from the physician. Ok yeah, I get it, the ‘owner’ is going to send a message apologizing for this incident and say something like, “The physician’s are not employed by us”. BUT, they are still a representation of YOUR facility. And if it weren’t for physicians hospitals wouldn’t last. So therefore I see him as a reflection of your hospital. Again, this is why I say the volunteers are the best part of the hospital, because they’re the ones that do show compassion, concern, and care.

Had my baby here and it was quite strange and uncomfortable. My doctor was great but the nursing staff here was very rude and unprofessional. First, the nurse on shift came in after my epidural didn’t work and told me I was too loud and scarring all the mothers on the floor and I needed to be quite. Lol!! Mind you, I was only moaning a little at a time and my mother & husband were baffled. One- because I wasn’t being super loud at all (they would have told me haha) & two.- I WAS IN LABOR! lol Than said She was getting off her shift soon but kept on telling me I may need a csection because I wasn’t dilating fast enough. She kick my parents out and starting giving my husband his surgery wear. 1 min later, my doctor arrived & said I was 9cm! She gave her & all the ladies in the room a meannnn look. So It was time for me to push! So from csection to natural birth in under 3 mins? All of the ladies that were assisting my doctor started arguing on how I was supposed to push or hold my legs? Which frustrated & confused me. No one I met (but my doctor) was genuinely nice or caring at all. Luckily, my doctor took care of me and my son. After I had him, lots of relatives said that this hospital has very high csection rates and told me after because they didn’t want to scare me. I wish they told me sooner. My next kid will not be born here.

Havnet had the best experience here, and the doctor is just way too impersonable for my tastes. While i understand that Im just a patient of hers, it would be nice to feel like my medical issues are a human problem, and not just a problem to be solved in a vacuum.

I would like to make an official complaint about an employee named Carey Lehman. She was extremely rude, unprofessional and treated our family terribly. She needs to be retrained on customer service and work on her communication skills. She has a hard time treating others with respect as this is not the first time we encountered this type of behavior from Carey. She is a terrible representative of Honor Health and she should be watched carefully. She should be fired immediately in my opinion.

I have been a patient of one of the doctors there for 10 years . I followed this doctor over from previous Private Practice I am very very disappointed in the care, it has plummeted . Since my doctor has joined this practice they have become disconnected, distracted, they don't listen and they don't even try. I will be going somewhere else.

Timothy Lancaster

I was here two months ago for hand surgery. The doctor was excellent and nurses and all the staff great! Well I am back again now because I have broken the exact same bone in my hand from 2 months ago! I am not terribly happy about having to be in any hospital. But if you have to go to the hospital, this is one you want to be at!

james robinson

A peaceful and happy experience.

I give this hospital one star because the waiting room needs new furniture...everything feels gross and old. The bathrooms were filthy...a hospital is supposed to be clean

Aubery Doka-Balderas

I alway end up in emergency and they never take my emergencies seriously. Just got bit by a dog pretty bad and i waited about 2hrs to be seen, while not having the wound cleaned. Really bad response time. Also came in another time before this, was bleeding a lot around10:45 pm didn’t get seen until 4 am.

I will never come back to this facility again! I brought my 3 yr old to ER for his chest and abdominal pain and complaints of not being able to breathe and headache since living in a home with toxic mold and possible asbestos. The triage nurse was impatient with my son and even said come on we have a lot of other things to do around here. Then once she got him still and put the ear temperature inside his ear she pressed hard and he screamed. He said mommy that lady hurt me. The doctor was nice but they acted as if this is not an emergency. I was even told that when I questioned them when leaving. I understand his vitals were okay but nobody seemed to care about the big picture! Told me to follow up with pediatrician . A little more bedside manner and patience and empathy would have been nice! Was also told don’t take it personal bc there’s a lot of sick and dying people in the ER and they may not have meant it! We know all about sick and dying, my husband passed away almost 2 years ago of ALS! I’ll go back to Phoenix Childrens Hospital from now on! We were there in January for pneumonia and they are very kind patient understanding and do not make you feel like your nuts for coming to get checked out! Not impressed at all with Honor Health ER on Shea!

Had the pleasure of being in the maternity unit of the hospital two days before Christmas and through Christmas last year for the delivery (ended up c-section) of our first grandchild (a sweet baby girl)!!!! Dr. Carter is completely awesome, what more can I say!! Was so very impressed with every aspect of the maternity ward and staff of this hospital. Kelly (labor & delivery nurse - soon to be a midwife) was amazing with our daughter who was there many many hours... Kelly was so kind, attentive and helpful, guiding her and explaining everything as labor went along... Cannot say enough good about the entire team!!! (I meant to write way sooner!!!!) For a first time mama the support and care extended to our daughter was wonderful to witness and so helpful to her as she began this huge job of becoming a mother!! Our baby girl is thriving, nursing has been more then successful, we are all so very grateful for this hospital and remarkable team!! PS - cafeteria food was pretty surprisingly (for a hospital) good too!!!

Hans Heitzinger

Excellent care and staff that truly cares for the patients. We had a poor experience in 2014 with quite a few rude staff members when we had our first baby but are happy to have a much more positive experience 4 years later with our third baby. Keep up the good work!

Terry Schmidt

My dad was in the hospital this weekend. Staff was some very good and some very bad. I will never have anyone from my family to to HH again. The staff complained about my dad's dementia.

Mitchell Laypath

Went in for chest pain, had to wait for four hours to be seen. Once they finally figured out what was going on I was told not to worry even though my ECG was all over the place. Followed up with my primary care doctor and she told me they should of done more. I had a very abnormal ECG to the point where it scared my normal doctor. If I had a choice I would of went to Good Sam downtown.. Honor health has really gone down in quality and it shows. They just do not care, I guess I finally understand why my old doctor left honor health. I have also been trying to call their discharge department regarding a note for work and I have been hung up on TWICE. Did not even get a chance to say anything, they answer and immediately hang up. If you're worried about your life, DO NOT GO HERE.

Samantha Lo

Thank you to Amber RN, Cathrine RN, and Megan PA in the emergency room for your great care while I had my first ED visit in my life. As a nurse you worry how you will be treated, but my visit went smoother then expected. I appreciate the care all three of these ladies gave to me, I had a great experience.

Darlann Hampton

Staff is slow to answer call lights. Patient comfort is their last priority. Patient relations never returns phone calls. Hospital administrator just makes things worse.

Gary Wingate

Honorhealth Scottsdale Shea is a very poorly run Hospital. They are always understaffed. This is my story, I went in to have blood draw for an upcoming surgery. It didn't take long for the phlebotomist to get there. While I was there the phlebotomist had made two sticks but was unable to get blood. She was in the process of going to my hand where she thought she would be able to get blood. She had actually stuck me on the hand when there was a call over the intercom saying there was a stroke victim. Now you would think they would have more than one phlebotomist, but no she had to get me up out of the seat close the door where she was performing the blood draw, sit me out in the waiting area, and leave to go up and take care of the stroke victim. Obviously taking care of the stroke victim was priority, however I find it inconceivable that they have only one phlebotomist to do outpatient blood draws and cover the emergency at the same time. This is just one example of problems I have had at this Hospital. This is the first time in my life that I have ever used honorhealth Scottsdale Shea. And it truly will be my last. If it wasn't for the great doctor and his staff I would not be going there to have surgery. The Hospitals ineptness frightens me. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone, however sometimes that's where your doctor works out of, and you really have no choice. Also I'm sure my doctor and many other doctors have experienced this unprofessional and unorganized system the hospital has in place.

m p

My wife only use this hospital, but the last 02 times, the service Is slow and give the impresion that the team is not coordinate. After 15 years using this facility we are ready to choose another one!!

Mon Rose

I will give this hospital 2 stars because of the nasty nurse I experienced back in 2015. I heard this was the best hospital for labor and delivery. After my horrible experience with my firstborn I wanted to make sure my second birth went well. I even did my research and found a Dr that delivered here. I was going to have a VBAC so it was important for me that I got the best to ease my mind. The time came for baby to come out and everything was going well. I had to get an epidural in case of emergency and was being monitored frequently. When it was time for me to start pushing there was a nurse that came in with the most disgusting attitude. She kept yelling at me to hurry up and push. The nurse even went as far as pushing my head down to my chest with force as I was pushing. I moved my head away from her I was so upset with this nurse. The whole time during delivery she was being nasty for no reason at all. When my daughter came out the nurse was insulting my parts insinuating that I was loose enough for my daughter to come out fast. The Dr was not happy with the nurses comments either. When I was sent down to my room the nurse followed and she was talking badly about me to the nurse who was taking over. She was still talking about my parts and I heard her say that she didn't know why it was hard for me to push if my holes were already open. The other nurse looked shocked about everything she was telling her. When the nurse left I told my new nurse that nurse made me feel very uncomfortable. I don't know if she was reported but I do know that I spoke to the hospital about it before. I will not go back to this hospital because of that experience. No matter how everything else is to me the medical staff has no right to insult your very private body parts or make you feel unwelcome.

Rena Schuck

My daughter was in this hospital for 5 1/2 weeks, 4 of them in ICU. I can't say enough good things about the care she received there! The nurses were all wonderful, caring and professional. The doctors were usually available to speak to me and to answer questions. Although some of them were nicer and more helpful than others!! I would recommend this facility to anyone.

Keith Corbett

I had emergency surgery at HonorHealth Shea. The hospital brought in Dr. Rashidi who did a great job, I recovered quickly with no complications. Everyone at Shea was great. The nurses never let me give up because I thought I had cancer. Special thanks to RN Emily who drilled it into me from the ER to the 5th floor every chance she got, I was going to be fine. She was right, the tumor turned out to be benign! I was on cloud 9. I'll never forget you. The Dr. did almost too good a job, I would have enjoyed staying a little longer as I was on a restricted diet and never did get to sample the food which is supposed to be great! Thanks again, to everyone.

Carlson Development

2 years in a row the service and professionalism at this classy DUMP!! has been beyond the worst hospitals in the west. Located in wealthy Scottsdale they have the service of that = or less than 3rd world countries!! My wife was sent home in labor at 9 months have serious contractions and should not have driven anywhere. She arrived home with 3 min apart contractions. this is 1am. at 4:10am she was holding her self delivered baby. Dont go here unless you have a death wish. Calling them Incompetent is being very nice. If I could rate them truly it would be -100. They put my wife and sons lives at serious risk 3 times in 30 days or less. This is a crime and we will treat it as such.

Amanda Kaatz

Great staff! Very accommodating and caring.

Chris B

I am really pleased with Dr Padaliya. He is very friendly and is an expert in his domain. He also responds to messages on the hospital portal (my chart) within a day. He knew my past medical history even if it was at a different location. Yvonne his assistant is very sweet and is great with her patients.

Galactic Dreamers

This was the worst experience in a medical inviorment of my life im leaving 2 stars only because they're were 2 nurses i could appreciate. I was being induced with my son on the 23rd of April and a few instances i can look back on is in the beginning the nurses that were on their night shift that night were rushing themselves and one of them that had to take my blood im not sure why i can't remember but she took 7 vials of blood which she missed and reminded me this was the worst part that this will be the only time ill feel pain which i felt relieved because i won't have to be poked by this needle again and there was blood pouring onto the floor down my bed and my husband was by my side and asked if that was normal? She said yes and cleaned up the mess then came back 10mins later to tell me she needed 7 more vials of blood because she forgot to write the time and my name on the vials i remained quiet and trusted the process and later on i invited my family in the room just to visit before birth i was covered in my gown and blankets and the nurse would come in and check if im dialated and i asked her if she can be discret and just flip the blanket open the opposite way rather then infront of ny family im just not comfortable and she ignored my requests and continued doing so and i thought this was going to be a memorable amazing experience is why i remained quiet i didn't relize how badly i was treated until after wards and to continue the story i didn't want ice chips in the beginning for my pains to distract me i felt that they wernt helping until i was close to getting my epidural my husband got them for me and i felt at ease chewing them and the next nurse for a different shift came in and whenever she spoke to me she would call me kiddo i guess because im 21 and still look young? I thought it was rude regarding im a mother and giving birth?? And she said i didn't need ice chips its going to interfear with my epidural and ivs im given even if i wanted the ice chips afterwards and i was going to put the cup away but before i got the chance she jerked it from my hand rudely and by the time the Anastesiologist came in for my epidural i was very nervous they said not to worry so i just remained calm while she was flirting with my Anastesiologist...my husband would notice these things and wed look at eachother in disbelief but i told him not to worry about anything its fine until she dropped the iv bag almost on my face being careless we felt very uncomfortable when that definitely happen...and now moving to my birth which was amazing because i can have my son the happiest moment in my life and hopefully leave soon!! Everything was well and they moved me to my post partum room and the nurses were so so nice and went out of their way i don't know why i didn't have the same experience in my labor room but when the nurse was bathing my son me and my husband noticed an abrasion on the top of his head i didn't see?! And the nurses and my obgyn didn't see even though he came out facing her with his head?? I think it's the nurses job to look at the baby for any abnormalities when checking the weight and cleaning the baby but they missed it and we had my son's abrasion looked at and i even spoke to my obgyn and was told they have no idea how that got there because i was induced they didn't use any forcets they poped my water but that dosent match the abrasion shape and they've never seen this.. So you can't imagine how upset as a mother i was to find this out and have a horrible experience that i looked forward to for 9months watching YouTube videos of other women's experiences thinking i would have the same because hospitals are suppose to have a professional and customer service atmosphere but the few nurses i had i can deeply appreciate i really wish i didn't come to this hospital the only reason why i did was for my obgyn but thank God my son's healthy and his abrasions healed but a scars going to remain and im never coming back if i ever plan on more children

For the past year I have been receiving calls on behalf of this hospital as my phone phone is very similar to there’s. When I’ve inquired in the past they have said my phone number was the same as one of there extension numbers. I have received many distressed calls from loved one in the er, icu, or general care. When I have tried to contact the hospital most recently, the lady on the phone directed me to a service which she already informed would not be in office. She was irritated on the call and disinterested in me trying to help the situation. If there is someone monitoring these reviews, please help me and loved ones of those in need fix this problem!

D'Anthony Smith

Really great service and care shown from the doctors and staff. My mom was in a fatal car accident with went into a seizure, soon as she arrived to HonorHealth she was properly taken care of and examined. The doctors and nurses are very nice, professional, and creates a great interpersonal relationship at the same time.

David Hutchinson

I'm going 5 stars because of 2 main things My Spine specialist knows the benefits of administration of steroids that mitigate nerve loss and he also takes the injury as seriously as he should which it's took about 2 months to find someone dedicated to the treatment of cervical injury. Thank you Dr. Deugun and staff.

Alice Daniels

What an amazing hospital...I have nothing but good things to say about Shea. Every nurse and doctor I've met along the way is respectful and professional. Keep it up~

Shaelyn Mounts

I want to start of by saying that Holly is an amazing nurse. She was super funny, patient and kind to everyone in my family while we were visiting my dad. HOWEVER, It broke my heart to hear that in the now 6 days that my dad has been in this hospitals care that nobody has bothered or asked to bathe him, let alone change the cheap mesh underwear that they provide. My dad had major surgery and can't leave the bed or move very much to do these simple tasks by himself. He now has to wear a colostomy bag and the first nurse who put it on didn't put it on correctly at all. Nobody noticed until the wound nurse arrived in the morning and she then fixed it for him. Another thing that really made me dislike this hospital was the fact that the first thing that the surgeon said to my family in the waiting room after surgery was "well, you certainly got your moneys worth." Thanks, Dr. Tarazi. This is my dad's life we are talking about, its not a joke. Last thing- the surgeon literally left a STAPLE inside my dad. It was very painful and was in there for 3 days (my dad complained to nurses but was brushed off) before it was removed. I wish that the hospital staff would pay more attention to their patients.

Susan Ledbetter

Very poor ER service. Triage Nurses not knowledgeable . Walked out. Tried to call head nurse, no one available. Was told to call back another time. When I left, they did not seem to care or ask what the problem was and or try to help Going to another ER.

William McDowell

One of the worst experiences I have ever had - 3 hour wait in ER waiting room. No communication, nothing but incompetence. Not until screaming and yelling did anyone pay any attention at all. Just plain awful, comparable to 3rd world country

Kenny Painton

My wife went there to induce labor after 41 weeks. We were welcomed right away and once she went back the nurses explained every thing they would do. EVERY nurse, Dr and assistant were amazing, comforting, very explanatory and never rushed our time. EVERY time we asked for a nurse they were right in and helped right away. Once we moved over to delivery it was the exact same. The nurses made it so comfortable for her to deliver and the Dr did a great job. The nurses that came in and helped with the baby were in and out all night and explaining everything to my wife and giving advice. We could not have asked for more. We had everything we needed and much more. Great staff. Food was little portions and weren't the best. But we didn't go there to eat. Thank you Honor Health in Scottsdale.

Monte Marsh

Triage nurse Bob is simply awful! Abrupt, abrasive and totally uninterested in patients. Asked me questions and then cut me off, said “I don’t have time to listen” , said they would ask same questions in the back. Totally unprofessional and rude, really bad experience. Hope the rest of staff is better!

Katey Harris

The nurses on night shift in the PICU are amazing. Thank you for caring for my daughter.

sameen hassan

Dr. Schwartz and RN Catharine are best in labor and delivery. Had great experience with them.

Sarah Carlson

This is the worst and uncaring hospital to deliver children at. I went in on Jan. 5th 2019 because of contractions. I was discharged at 12:18 told I was one cm dilated, only 70% faced (as where I was 80% Dec. 22) and I had at least one week or so to go before I deliver. I had to drive myself to the hospital, when arrived I was not able to walk up to the maturity ward. I was wheel chaired in. When discharged again for the 5th time told I have more time before delivery. I was wheel chaired out to my car because I could not walk down to car. I was sent home having major contractions, when arrived home my contractions were three minutes apart. By 4 am I was in bed delivering my own child by myself while my 13 month old was in her crib. I went to hospital to not have my daughter see me give birth. She was a witness to this, I was taken back less then 4 hours later after delivering my own child by myself I was treated with disrespect, ignored, no medication giving to me for the pain of delivering my own child from myself. If you want a risky delivery by yourself, incompetent staff, ignoring staff, and treated with disrespect go here. As a result of this my whole family is mentally and physically affected by this. The worst is my 13 month old, she still screams at night during the time of the birth. We had to move her to a different room to sleep. FROM THIS EXPERIENCE WE ARE GOING TO SUE THIS HOSPITAL!!! To make matters worse for the second time this hospital has called DCS to cover for their mistakes without a confirmed positive test results, the hospital will call DCS before the results come back and held me against my will (kidnapping).

Nancy Paravicini

I have a close friend who had a cardiac procedure and was in the ICU for 4 days. No one ever offered her any kind of personal care, not even to brush her teeth or give her a warm wash cloth after she had used the bedpan. As an old RN, I was horrified. Finally, 2 days after her arrival, her husband found the emesis basin and was able to help her brush her teeth!!! What has happened to nursing care? All about the paperwork???

Sierra Byrom

Terrible, awful, unprofessional and just bad!!!! I am about 28 weeks pregnant and this is my 3rd pregnancy. I am new to phoenix and usually give birth at TMC.I was told the shea location was one of the "better" places to be seen in Phx but I'm thinking not! My Dr had me go in because it was a weekend and I needed medicine (because if it got worse i could go into preterm labor) but I know my body and know the issue. After getting all hooked up and wired to monitors they told me I was going into pre term labor. I told them in not, its just Brackston hicks and in not contracting my belly is just tight. They argued and told me I was. So the nurse brought me a shot (not telling me what it was or what was in it) and put it in my arm to slow down my "contractions" that I want even feeling. Then they had a male doctor who was on call. They told me he had to check my cervix to see if I'm dilated. I said I preferred a woman to do it and the nurse said she could. He insisted on watching, and it hurt! Iv had it checked before, and never so rough! While the male watched and made me feel completely violated and uncomfortable. Then the nurse said she couldn't tell and he told me he had to do it anyways after I said I didn't want him to. So hheals checks my cervix roughly and tells me he can't tell either because, and I quote "its so soft in there its hard to tell" . WHAT!? So I'm crying and feeling violated and my body is in shock because of how upset I am and now feeling worse than what I came in for, we had to wait hours for the urine results and I had to sit with an IV with nothing in it for "just in case" until my results came back. After my results came back they told me it was inconclusive and they gave me the prescription for what I INITIALLYSAID MY ISSUE WAS IN THE 1ST PLACE!!!!! In so upset with all I had to go through and I will not be giving birth in a place that made me feel so violated!!!!!

Gina Chesebro

Nurses are rude in outpatient surgery center. I was upset about being disfigured and now I am in the psych ward waiting for crisis team. Has already been 4 hours they have no idea when they will come so I can go home. Pain is a 9 but no help. No compassion is ever showed at this place. So crisis was never called so wasted 6 hours. Now they will not let me leave and have to wait another 6 -12 hours to go home since the called crisis after I found out they had not been called. 4 men staring at me while I go to the bathroom. Sexual harassment at its best. Now I am having my phone taken away in retaliation and 7 people staring me down. This will be a lawsuit waiting for the retaliation you say you do not allow. Talk to your admin nurse about how awful she is.

Brittany Hackett

I just recently gave birth here. I had a hard labor process but the nurses were great and insured that I had everything I needed and was as comfortable as possible. Natalie was my favorite. She made me feel very comfortable, extremely welcome. She went the extra mile and definitely deserves recognition for it. Thank you guys for such a great experience!

Darwin Davis

DO NOT GO HERE!!! The ER Dr should have her license removed.

Kevin Bird

Kind of sad to have to write this review. I've come here for 23 years for different reasons and have had good service. Tonight I brought my wife in with something in her eye, so here we are in emergency, 3 hours later, her and paint, and still waiting to see someone. Didn't seem that crowded, seems more under staff.

Heather Jefferies

Absolutely horrible! Nurses were cussing and rude. Day nurse was emptying my urine than opened my water bottle with the same gloves on. She had boogers running down her nose of which she used the top of the pen to whip it with them wanted me to use it to sign release papers! Respiratory were so mean, the lady glared at me and was bothered that she had to bring the machine. I asked her if it had distilled water in it; she said, it has water and it works. Then glared at me. Couldn’t wait to get out of there!

In the Valley, I have had past experiences at multiple Banner hospitals, St. Joe's and Mountain Vista for ER and Surgeries. Bar None, Scottsdale Shea Medical Center surpasses all other hospitals in treatment and service, kindness and compassion. Three years ago, I had my 3rd back surgery with Dr. Yeung (BEST SPINE DOCTOR IN THE WORLD) at HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea location. I was treated kindly and with respect by all of the support staff - from intake, to the food staff, cleaning staff and all of the nursing/doctors. For this seventh surgery, a double fusion by Dr. Yeung, I requested to return to this location to have my surgery because of the previous care, kindness and respect shown to me and my wife, three years ago. Is it possible to have a great experience in a hospital? If so, I did! From the moment my wife and I came to check in for surgery Thursday, July 11, 5:30AM, we both were treated with care, kindness, respect and compassion. We will do our best to recall every single person that treated us so kindly and if we miss anyone, please know we did not encounter any single person that was less than lovely in this hospital. The valet were so kind, compassionate and carted my wife back and forth to our vehicle for needed supplies during our stay. The intake woman, whom I do not recall her name (SO NICE) made everything easy, understandable and was fun! The volunteers were all happy, kind, loving, helpful - amazing!!! Pre-Op and Surgery were easy - not stressful...They explained everything to us. The anethesiologists names were Jay and Steve - AMAZING! I am a special case and can not take opiates so they were extra careful with me and my needs. Dr. Yeung is an amazing surgeon with a staff that equally portrays the same expertise, knowledge and kindness. The entire polished process at HonorHealth kept my wife informed of what I was going through and the timing involved, start to finish. On the 5th floor after surgery, I stayed two nights and three days with Brittany, Danni and Allison as my nurses. THEY WERE ALL AMAZING! Special thank yous to Allison for the night she came on she walked into me having sever pain and distress and she went the extra mile to make sure she made me comfortable and kept me informed. She took care of me all that night so that my wife could get some sleep. They have space for my wife to stay with me and treated her with respect, honor and kindness the entire stay. We encountered wonderful people who took my blood pressure (Shout out to Connor!) and aided me when I needed help. The food staff was so friendly and the food was fantastic! I might have over-eaten! SO GOOD! The staff doctor, Dr. Parker was professional, caring, kind, helpful and respectful - just a really nice doctor! My wife and I can not say enough to show our gratitude for my care and how thankful we have been to be able to find a SAFE PLACE to have surgery. There is no comparison to the other places I have been. Scottsdale Shea has treated us like we are people.

I birthed my 2 children here, and the experience was very good. There was 1 incident with a nurse who told me "that baby is coming out on top or coming out below, you have 45 minutes" but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt as I was in labor for over a day. The facilities are older, but the care and attention is top notch. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone to this hospital.

Theda Nunn

My mother felt well cared here, and she really enjoyed the food.

Carol Hardin

This hospital's care is not patient driven. You never see a doctor , the nurses never relay information to the doctors or to the patient and their care is shoddy , without regard to the patients medical record. Choose another hospital.

Kristen Fleming

I am an expecting mother who has looked into all of the great prenatal classes the hospital has to offer. I took a tour of the facility already and was very impressed. After that tour I would have given the hospital a 5 star rating. Definitely a lot of questions and anxiety with it being my first pregnancy and I felt at ease after the tour. However, I began looking at the days/times of the classes offered so I could schedule them as they became relevant and the newborn care class and breastfeeding classes are only offered at 6pm on various days. I get off work at 6pm so depending on traffic would be there between 6:15-6:30. Before scheduling I called the number provided to ask if that would be okay. I was told it was not okay. That the doors would be shut/locked and no one would be able to enter after 6pm. What the heck?!?! So I asked the lady, "So there is no exception? What do I do, just not get to take the class??" And she replied "Yes, unfortunately that is the case".... Is that a joke?? This isn't a certification class where I need to be present for a certain number of minutes. This is a class provided so I can feel educated and prepared when my little one gets here. Unbelievable actually! If they are concerned about others being distracted by my late arrival I understand that, but can't I sneak in quietly and sit at a table in the back? This is why I called in advance (over a month in advance), to give the courtesy of letting them know I would be a few minutes late. I am just appalled at this... I hate throwing the single mom card around but I am a working, single mom who is trying to be educated and the hospital basically says "too bad". Awful, just awful.

Echo NightHorse

Fast ER turn around. Great staff! Loved my room when admitted.

I am only giving 1 star because the ED doc (Finch) was wonderful. However, as a stroke center, they released my husband with a pontine (brainstem) stroke, gave us a number to see neurology the next day but that office was closed. Needless to say, they didn't even keep him for observation as the neurologist on call figured we could work him up outpatient. Tried calling multiple times for assistance but was either disconnected or the neurologist they would have me call the office staff were not helpful and would not schedule appointments. Most frustrating situation EVER and I am in medical so I know what's what. I finally got him seen 10 days later. On my own without any help from this "stroke center".

I owe Mrs. Krissie in radiology a card and a bouquet of flowers! She is awesome, patient, friendly and very professional.

My doctor scheduled me for surgery at Honor Health Shea. I trust him explicitly but was apprehensive about the hospital after seeing several low ratings on Google. My experience was 100% positive. Every employee (doctors, nurses, and staff) I encountered was warm, friendly and extremely helpful. The nurses I had caring for me were excellent. Food services I have to compliment too as the food was hot and very tasty. If I ever need surgery again...I’d use this hospital without hesitation. A solid 5 stars.

Had a surgical procedure here and all went well. Great doctor, nice nurses and staff. Had to do follow up blood work 6 months later, so I went to the hospital's facility to have it drawn. Big mistake. Though I thought I was covered, as my procedure had been months earlier, my portion for the draw was over 900 dollars. I had been told it was a special draw, but none of the labs required were out of the ordinary, and I am a nurse. I almost fainted when I got the bill. I guess I should have double checked, but I assumed it was in network. Not happy and I refuse to pay.
