Course marshal was rude. Confronted us for driving on the cart path! Said we needed to use the on/off exit. We said that was fine and we would but our balls were near the cart path so we would just stay on the cart path. This JACK ASS said he didn’t care where our balls were we needed to go back around, exit onto the fairway and then drive back down on the fairway walk over to our balls near the cart path and then drive the rest of the way down the fairway and get back on the cart path. Power hungry retired guy with nothing else to do but argue with paying patrons for using the cart path.

I would honestly give this place zero stars if I could. I had my wedding at Shoal Creek in March of this year. Almost 8 months later I am still very upset and sick to my stomach about the way my event went down at this facility! It all started with The events coordinator showing the facility while my bridal party and myself were getting ready. My bridal suite should have been a PRIVATE place for me to enjoy getting ready with my bridal party.... Right when we were all changing into our dresses the events coordinator opened the doors allowing a couple along with their parents (I assume) to see me and 6 of my girls in various states of undressed. I was in my panties and bra (Thank God for that much) But my sister in law and 2 of my other brides maids didn't even have that much on at the time! I could not believe what was happening! Made for a HIGHLY pissed off bride! The events coordinator decided to ignore the children I had listed in my guest count for food (We had over 20 children there) And about 1/3 of my guest didn't get chicken which was my main course! So freaking embarrassing!! The coordinator tried to blame me for not listing enough guests so I made her go back and find my email and print it off so I could show her.... When she realized that SHE was the one who was wrong she pretended to have lost my paperwork. The ENTIRE staff were all HORRIBLY rude to my bridal party and guests. The bartender asked my 17 year old niece "What do you want?" when she came up to get a drink then shoved a drink towards her spilling it all over her dress! I did plan my wedding the night before Easter Sunday (Not intentionally) and Shoal Creek did have a brunch event the next morning so I am sure my wedding was an inconvenience for everyone who was working my event. HOWEVER, I literally spent 2 years and several thousands of dollars on what was suppose to be my dream wedding only to be treated like an inconvenience to everyone. The "Manager" Asked my Maid of Honor when we would be leaving, which she replied "Well, we paid to have the place until midnight" The manager replied "well I hope you consider leaving before then!" SERIOUSLY??? I left my wedding bawling LITERALLY bawling!! Shoal creek employees ruined my wedding! A bride should look back on her wedding with wonderful memories and as a wonderful experience. I look back on my wedding and cry almost every single time! I hate my wedding night and I am so embarrassed about how everyone who was a guest at my event was treated. I hate that not everyone got to eat at my event, that my bridal party as well as myself were unwilling exposed in an inappropriate way to people we did not even know! I thought over time I would get over the nightmare of that night but almost 8 months later I am even more upset about it. When I talked to the general manager of Shoal Creek and explained to him what all happened he had the nerve to tell me that he watched the tapes from that night and "Did not see a drink shoved at anyone" Like I was lying and like that was the only issue from that night. He proceeded to tell me what MY bridal party did WRONG!!??!!! He claimed that my maid of honor broke a door... It was a hanging sliding door that simply came off of its track and it came off of its track when my maid of honor tried to shut the doors when she realized that 2 of the female staff members were going through our things!!! Like I said 2 years of planning and several thousand dollars later I am left with only a nightmare that was suppose to be a dream! Please save yourselves the misery and DO NOT book Shoal Creek for your special day!

I absolutely love the golf course. Unfortunately on two occasions the staff "lost" my tee times and I was unable to play. I love to play the course but I'm no longer certain I'll be able to with the staff continually losing my tee times. I'll go to other courses in the area where this doesn't happen.

We got married at Shoal Creek in March 2018. Before finding Shoal Creek we had several HORRIBLE experiences with our wedding planning and other venues. The moment we talked with Tammy at Shoal Creek, things really turned around for us. We went from being stressed out & on the verge of going to the justice of the peace...to excited and at peace with the whole process! Tammy is amazing! She responded quickly to our questions and was wonderful to work with! She REALLY took all the stress away from my wife!! We got TONS of compliments from our guests about the beautifully venue, amazing food and wonderful staff! Everything from the planning, the tasting & the actual wedding day was fantastic!! Everything was very well organized & executed. The tasting was so delicious that it was difficult for us to narrow it down and choose what we wanted for our menu! There was a lot of food and it was a lot of fun! During our reception, they promptly removed dishes when our guests were done eating & were very friendly & personable. The room flip was handled very well and quickly. We got numerous compliments from our guests that it was the best wedding they have ever attended. Tammy, Brett, Chef Justin & the entire staff at Shoal Creek are wonderful and we HIGHLY recommend them!! If you need an event space for a wedding or anything else, call Tammy!! You will not be disappointed!!

I just want to start out by saying Tammy is the best, she is a life saver and my reception would not have been the same without her. She did an incredible job and even ended up having to do a lot of the decorating because of timing issues that we had with our dinner and other things. She really came through for us and we can't thank her enough. The food was incredible, the wait staff/bartender(s) were awesome. Almost everyone was GREAT! That being said, the man who was in charge of lending us the golf carts was incredibly rude and horrible to us, from the moment we came outside. Even after we told him that Tammy had said we could use the golf course for photos he told us that since we have paid for a round of golf then we aren't covered to be on the course when golfers are present, I'm sorry but we spent THOUSANDS of dollars on that venue and to be told that we hadn't spent enough to be on the golf course was insulting and ridiculous. It was 8 o'clock at night and people were finishing up on the back nine, there was no reason whatsoever that we couldn't have used one of the first nine holes for our pictures. The golf course photos were something that we were really looking forward to and he ruined it. I still want to give 5 stars because I do not believe Tammy and her staff should receive a lower rating because of one man's incompetence, but this was something that really upset the groom and I and I wanted to make sure to include it. Update: After posting this review I was contacted by Tammy, who apologized for the man's rudeness. She did inform me that generally wedding parties are not allowed on the course in an effort to prevent damage to the course. However, she did offer my husband and I the opportunity to reserve a time to come back out with our photographer to get pictures taken on one of the holes if we'd like. She also informed me that they would speak with the rude man and that the GM had been informed of the issue.

We had our son and daughter-in-law’s reception at Shoal Creek in January and we could not have been happier. Tammy Musso was extremely helpful though out the planning process as well as the day of our event. As part of the planning process Tammy met with us several times and was very flexible in accommodating our schedule. Since this was a winter reception, she even offered up a contingency plan in case of inclement weather. Tammy was very helpful meeting our catering needs and provided her expert advice on everything from how much food to order to decorating and scheduling ideas. She even helped us with setting up the decorations. Family and friends commented on how beautiful the reception and venue was. We received a very high quality of service, responsiveness, and professionalism from the entire staff during the planning and the evening of our event. As far as value, after shopping around, I found Shoal Creek to be the highest value for everything we received. I was extremely pleased with our choice and would recommend Tammy and Shoal Creek for any event.

Good club house and restaurant and a great staff. Practice facilities and overall look of everything was good. The course is very playable with just the right amount of hazards and obstacles for the average golfer. HOWEVER, I was only able to play the back 9. They started me on the back and then started everyone else on the front telling me I would have zero issues. Played the back in 1’15” and then ran into a wall of groups that would have taken me 2.5 hrs plus to play the front, didn’t make any sense to me. Almost every fairway has huge spots being fully replaced and directly affected the game play and some very dry spots in the rough lacking watering. Upset with how things like these were not spoken about before hand when I clearly told them I had never played it before and looked forward to it. I can see how this course gets so much good talk about it and we have had terrible weather this year in Missouri but when you play somewhere such as this and see the prices they charge their members I expected much much more from the maintenance side of it. Would love to play it when it actually looks like the pictures posted online!

They perfectly solved a pretty aggravating situation: Slow play up ahead had 3 groups all waiting on hole 6, so a marshall came out and offered to let us skip ahead to 10 which was open and come back through to play 6-9 later. My partner and I took him up on it, stopped at the grill to grab 4 beers on the way to 10 and they comped the beer for us! (I still tipped). We ended up having a great time after what we thought was going to be miserable.

Recently my family had a memorial service at Shoal Creek for my Mother, Patricia Barrett. The facilities are first-rate; comfortable, clean, and modern. The staff are helpful and friendly, and we felt that the services provided could not have been better. Shoal Creek is also in a very convenient location for having out-of-town guests; it's easy to find and has lots of parking. The surroundings are lovely. Shoal Creek was such a beautiful place to have my ceremony and wedding reception. Tammy (the wedding coordinator) was wonderful. She helped with everything, she answered my emails back very quickly, and helped keep the stress off of me on the day of my wedding. The food we tasted when we went to our taste test was DELICIOUS!! When it came to our actual wedding, I was disappointed with the food; it was not as good as it had been when we tested it. The people that worked there were so nice. We forgot to get our wedding cake (got it from costco) and someone who worked there went and got it for us! They also figured out another candle crisis as well. Loved this place, the only complaint was the food the day of.

Came here for a golf outing with some friends and was blown away by the golfing facilities!!! Putting green and driving range are very large and in excellent condition. Course was in great shape considering the weather we've had this summer. Golf carts come with GPS touchscreen which is very accurate and handy. Look forward to going back.

I did the DJ and photo booth for a reception there. From a Dj's perspective the venue is not well designed. Of the 40 receptions I have done this year i consider this the worst to unload and load my equipment. There is not a good place to pull a truck and trailer anywhere near a door. There are no gutters over the entrance so the rain poured in sheets. And there was no overhang to pull the trailer under to keep equipment from getting wet while loading equipment at the end of the night. It feels very small in the main banquet. The dance floor was small, the ceilings low. The food was very good though and the bride and groom had a good experience with the venue. I will, however, not accept another gig at this venue as it was extremely difficult to load and unload equipment and made more difficult by how close the tables were together causing me to have to carry my speakers all tbe way around the building to the back entrance.

Oh my gosh I was planning my wedding and struggled finding a venue. I was in absolute tears! My sister and I found Shoal Creek Golf Course on the Knot and called immediately and left Tammy (event planner) a message. Not even 10 minutes later she called and was absolutely so sweet. Offered for me to come see how a wedding ran, said I could call or text any time with concerns with the over all planning of a wedding! This venue does not get enough credit for the extra hours the staff puts in before during and after the wedding. Our wedding day, my arch was not able to hold up due to extreme wind- one hour before I am to walk outside down the aisle, Tammy took it upon herself to go buy supplies to make a beautiful, even better back drop for us. And it ended up being so beautiful and perfect we used it as our background for group photos. This venue and it's staff I would recommend to anyone! And 2 of my friends have used it as a venue and my little sister as well all in this year. Thank you Shoal Creek Golf Course for the wonderful experience!

Paradise in the North Land. An amazing layout, superb conditions, and a great staff make this one of my favorite golf spots in all of Kansas City. Not overly stuffy or pretentious... Just a great place to play without breaking the bank. Perhaps the hardest 18th hole in all of Kansas City makes finishing a difficult challenge...good luck!

We had our wedding reception at Shoal Creek and it was a wonderful experience. The space offered 4 different types of atmospheres which our guest could move through effortlessly. If they wanted to stay in the dining space and dance the night away, talk at the bar area and watch the last minutes of March Madness, the beautiful backdrop of the fireplace room, or the outside patio with the firepits and tables for guests to cool off at. Tammy was a wonderful coordinator and helped every step of the way! The food was amazing, and we were pleasantly surprised that they could cater so much more than just simple pasta. We had wonderful chicken spedini, stuffed shells, and roast!

The course has a very neat layout. Unfortunately it was very wet while we were there so tee shots plugged and you couldn't leave the cart path. The greens were disappointing. Lots of marks in them. The staff was friendly but there seemed to be 5 marshalls on the course. They were constantly monitoring pace of play and letting groups know about it.

Hot and muggy outside but they ran out of coolers to put on your carts to keep your beverages cool. Wedding party taking up all of the seating inside so while waiting for your tee time you had to stand outside in the heat. Pro Shop was not overly helpful pretty much there just to take your money did not give any advice or suggestions of any kind. But after all of that frustration the course itself was very nice.

Be prepared for a beautiful venue, but a lack of service. Our vendors seemed to care more about our wedding night than the venue staff. Booking the venue was exciting for us, but as the day got closer there was a huge lack in clarification towards details. The venue added more stress the day of my wedding rather than having a relaxed wedding day leading up to my ceremony. When booking the venue I was told all I would have to do was place my decor I wanted to bring in. I was told the room would be set up & ready for me when I arrived that morning. I was given access to the clubhouse & banquet room at 6:30 AM to start getting ready & to begin decorating. Table cloths were not steamed and had lines/creases throughout the whole table. When I asked, I was told they don't steam them & leave them as is. The banquet room was filthy & not vacuumed. There were not enough chairs placed at the tables for the reception. (I provided the number to the venue prior) Not all the table cloths were placed on the tables. My wedding party and I had to put on table cloths, steam table cloths, vacuum, place more chairs at the tables and more. The coordinator, Tammy arrived later than the time she stated she would arrive. Upon arriving she told me that she had a late night and someone was going to vacuum and clean the room later. That was an inconvenience and not what I was initially told. The venue did not add paper to cover the windows in the room for getting ready, resulting in people seeing in and no privacy. My wedding party and I witnessed Tammy very unengaged and we received negative comments from family, guest & vendors that she was rude the day of and not professional. Her focus was not where it should have been. She arrived late, presented herself with an attitude and acted as if I was imposing on her with my questions & assistance. I was told the night before the wedding at rehearsal that they would close the clubhouse at least 1 hour prior to the ceremony for our event. We paid for the privacy, but at 5pm when the ceremony was scheduled to begin there were golfers still sitting around in the reserved location. I had to complain to the coordinator who was of little help in clearing the reserved area. We paid for their services, but employees continued to stand around complaining about having weddings at the course and having to work them. The golf carts that were to be set up prior to the ceremony, so we could ride down the path and take photos were not ready. Once the ceremony finished we had to change plans and walk to the front of the clubhouse to begin photos until venue staff could get the golf carts ready. Tammy had communicated to us while giving our initial headcount that if the number of guest who attended the wedding had changed to let her know and she could correct the billing afterwards. There was not a time frame specified. Tammy was no where to be found at the end of the evening, so I contacted her a few days after. I was told they would not change anything and I should have read my contract, which I was not provided a copy of. So, huge heads up to couples searching for a venue. Refer to your contract and do not believe what the venue staff might tell you. Be sure to keep information documented so you can fall back onto it, or you will be disappointed in the end.
