Here you will see all the reviews of real people who know the services and products of The Fort Golf Resort (Golf) in Indiana.
Currently the firm receives a score of 4.5 over 5 and that score is based on 317 reviews.
As you can read, the average of ratings is nearly the top, and it is founded on a high number of scores, so we can be pretty sure that the score is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to leave their opinion when they are happy with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to give feddbacks when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Golf corresponds to the category of Golf course.
Excellent condition. Interesting pin placements. Fun and challenging
Good place to have fun.
I enjoyed the course. Got to get out and play from KC on way to Niagara Falls with two other guys Chad and Matt. My wife looked up reviews of area courses and this was on the top of the list! Challenging yet fun. Helps to play with some people that know the course because there is strategy to your shots! Enjoy!
Great atmosphere. I like the sunday brunch.
Get to forget you’re in Indiana for 4 hours.
Course was worth the trip from Illinois. Will play again.
First visit and was quite disappointed. Long wait to get in because only one lane for paying and season holders until lane separates very near entrance building. Also no information to be found, once you finally find the information Center, about where lake is or even May be located. I came today to try fishing and did not even find the lake.1
Good food
A beautiful course in the wilderness. It is long for women.
Extremely poor service, in fact none I was ignored as a restaurant guest. Don't bother!
Ate Sunday brunch, which is very good and not too pricy. Service is excellent.
The course is in great shape and the addition of "@ 9" making each par 3 an opportunity to win a Breitling watch every time you play a differentiator when choosing courses. Good stuff. Appreciate their willingness to innovate!
Brunch at the Garrison is fantastic. Ask about their delicious coffee.
Great facilities top course we probably didn't do course justice.
Just a great place to play golf.
Amazing and beautiful. Highly recommend it!
Great buffet, great food and great service...if they had beer and wine, it'd be an easy 5 stars...
One of Pete Dye's better courses in the area. Best course for the money in Indy
Great golf course in a very nice setting
I have enjoyed this brunch every time I've been here. It's wonderful! They have a full range of items to choose from, an omelet bar, waffle bar, and a meat bar that always contains salmon, prime rib, and a different other meat depending on the season I guess. It's elegant, with table cloth, cloth napkins, heavy silverware, and nice glass cups.
Visited the driving range, fortunately it was pretty vacant. Great range and tough green to hit from. Worth the trip!
Great place for gatherings like birthday etc
Great place for luncheons, etc. Delicious food choices on their buffet. Reasonable prices.
The Friday Fish Fry at the Garrison formerly the Officer's Club was excellent!
One of the nicest public courses in Indiana. A challenging course for sure.
Very beautiful.
Excellent course. Best in Indy area.
Not a bad dinner
The fried chicken was good.
nice place
Scenic well condition, will not disappoint
The Sunday brunch buffet has to be one of the best I've ever been to. Really decked out with a meat carving station and a waffle/omelet station. And you can walk it off at the park!
Beautiful topography and golf course but typical for a public course, needs a lot of maintenance. Fun day though!
A true beauty hidden in Indy
We had an office golf outing and had lunch and dinner catered. Everything was perfect. The folks at the golf course and the caterers we're great to deal with. I can't recommend them enough. Great course, location and people.
Challenging course always in great condition!
What a great golf course. We played 36 holes. This is a have to play course in the Indianapolis area. You will really enjoy it. Some tough holes but beautiful course
Very nice course. A bit challenging on a few holes. Lost a couple balls within 10' of green. A little more expensive than some others but totall worth it!
Snooty, Food was not all that good
Looks real nice
This is a very good place with good food. Highly recommend it.
Hard but fun
Fabulous course layout and condition was excellent! Very hilly! Beautiful place to play a round of golf. Golf carts could use some upgrades including maybe attaching a ball washer, club cleaner or gps. There was no drink cart either while playing
Great course. I hope to go back next week when the leaves are changing a little more.
Stunning tough course with housing on the course. This was a great setup for our weekend Ryder Cup golf trip. The course was in great shape and the environmental areas for the birds and other wildlife throughout the course makes for a beautiful layout. Although this created some lost balls, these areas added so much more! The staff was great and the proshop was loaded with everything you need. Around the course was plenty to eat if needed.
Beautiful hilly course that is exceptionally maintained. Plays tough with the hills and large sand traps, but fairways are typically wide. A great place to spend a few hours.
I’ve had the chance to play The Fort a couple times now and I’ve never had a bad experience. The staff are friendly and a joy to interact with, and the course is challenging, but excellent. While the price is on the higher end of the golf budget, it is a great option for the Indianapolis area and definitely beats the quality of other courses nearby. Try scheduling a visit via GolfNow to snag a Hot Deal or play in the mid-afternoon (2:30-4:00pm) to get a better deal for the round.
Food there is very delicious
Food mediocre. Service very good.
Course was in great shape and the staff was helpful and friendly.
Really enjoyed our stay. Everone should consider making Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park a destination.
Amazing course right in my own back yard.
Good food. Nice atmosphere.
Excellent. Everytime I go
The range is spacious and a great place to practice. Course layout and design is fantastic but maintenance has room to improve
I really like The Fort, what a great golf course! It's a little pricey to play there, but arguably one of the best golf courses in Indianapolis, if not all of Indiana.
Such a great course. Lots of elevation changes, which is rare for Indiana. Greens are huge and the entire course is well manicured. Driving ranch, putting green and separate chip/pitch are a with full green and sand traps are available as well. Club house is historical and well kept.
Very enjoyable.
Can I be 13 and work as a caddy it can be a good way to make money and lose weight at the same time that what my cousin tells me so please someone reach out and tell me if I can work as a caddy at age 13.
Too long of a wait to be seated. Took too long in cleaning tables.
We are at the Garrison and it's phenomenal! Great staff everywhere, we give it all the stars!!!
Course layout a 5. Course condition a 2. Rain and a holiday during the week might be excusable. Plenty of staff, but not doing much for the golfing experience. Will give it another chance, hope they do some customer service training
It was very disappointing! The course is in terrible shape and play was very slow! Way over rated and priced!
Awesome as is typical for a Pete Dye layout, especially the last five holes. Some pretty bad bare spots in the fairways/tees which is why it isn't 5 stars. The rough was nasty tough.
Great treat, plenty of food and excellent customer service.
Good place to stay close to downtown and close to the zoo.
Unfortunately, a golf course that I enjoy playing was tainted by pro shop staff that was not friendly, rude and more interested in arguing than providing good customer service. When I checked in for golf I questioned why the rate was more than what was displayed on the online booking system. He stated that my friend who booked the tee time called to book it rather than use the online system and therefore we didn't get the better rate. I also overheard another staff member giving another customer an additional $5 off because the range was closed due to wet conditions. When I asked my friend as we were playing how he booked the tee time he most definitely made the tee time online. After our round of cart path only, extremely soggy conditions and no driving range, we went back into the pro shop to again inquire why we didn't get the online rate. The man working by himself was much more interested in arguing with us and trying to be "right" than he was at providing good customer service and acted as though he had no ability to adjust our rate. When I told him about the $5 discount given to the other group due to the closed range, he simply said "I have no idea what that was all about". I drove 2 hours to play this course and have done so for many years but I will not be returning next year nor will my other friends who played with me. There are too many nice courses that appreciate my business and wouldn't treat us this way. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because I do like the golf course layout.
Except the cart girl, nobody does their job here. 5 hour round for 2 people , pace of play a disaster because the ranger is almost incoherent. Some of the greens are beat to hell. Layout is fun and the beer is cold. I'd actually play it again because ol' Pete designed a nice course, but let's upgrade the staff and amenities here.
Went there for Christmas Banquet. We had the whole place with band. Our organization does this every year then go back for breakfast the next morning. Food and service is excellent.
All around good. Greens were nice and quick. Not as much sand as the starter will have you believe
Drove 3.5 hours to play this course and couldn't be happier with it. Beautiful shape and well designed course. Scenic and pleasant the whole time. Nice to see a course with rangers out and helping play along when needed, but not nagging you inappropriately. My only complaint is that for the price the carts need to have ball and club washers on them,
Attended a wedding here- it was absolutely beautiful!
An incredible as well as reasonable buffet. Great dining with incredible service.
Beautiful Golf course, if you are looking for a challenge then you need to play here.
This is a world class Pete Dye course. A must play when visiting Indiana
Amazing course that is scenic and challenging. Friendly & professional staff. Course conditioning was excellent. Exceptional prices on greens fees and merchandise. First class operation. Worth the 2+ hour drive. Will definitely return.
Love this layout! The greens are a little beat up...not unexpected as it's getting later in the season, but wish the course would do a little bit to smooth them out. Fairways were very good except for just a couple spots.
Loved the layout and the scenic holes, but the condition of the tees (white) and greens showed a lot of play and neglect. For the rates I was surprised the carts had no GPS, not even informational flip cards of the holes. Only map was on the back of the score card.
This is a tough, but very good golf course. The grounds are well maintained and the greens are nice.
If yoy enjoy golf. You must play at the Fort.
Wow what an amazing course. Beautiful layout. I didn't know there was such elevation near the city, reminded me of courses in Pennsylvania. Pete Dye is a golf design guru and this course is typical Dye. Awesome greens. This is our first stop on the Pete Dye Golf Trail. We aim to get in all 7. But now that we have played here we will be back. A must play course in Indianapolis!
Fun course. Wish the carts had GPS.
Beautiful course, balls actually roll in the fair ways
Fantastic Staff in Banquet Hall! Beautiful facility.
Nice course. And it isn't easy. Plays Lg.
Beautiful ❤️
Wonderful atmosphere
Great golf course! Friendly staff on the course.
One of the best golf courses in Indiana... maybe even in the region; for a public access course, It's special! I've been playing the course since the late '90s. Love the Property!
Great buffet at a very reasonable price, service well exceeds expectations. If you work in the food service industry, I recommend you go there to learn how table service should be performed.
Nicest course we play all year. Bring lots of ammo. You will need it.
Amazing beautifully manicured course, and a challenge for all. A bit pricier but worth it for a change of routine.
Once trained here in military journalism. Good to see it repurposed with veteran housing and a park. Utilizing it as part of a new 50-mile, 1day walk.
One of the best the public can play in Indiana. Pretty course. Kept in great shape.
Beautiful place for wedding party photos.
Pete Dye course on old US Army base, NE corner of Indianapolis.
My favorite course in central Indian. Difficult from back tees, but very playable up. Beautiful holes, especially in the fall
Not a bad course it's something different
Awesome course. Challenging and beautiful.
went fishing here. it was ok.
Great food in restaurant.
Very beautiful layout
One of the most fun, scenic and challenging tracks in Indy. Quite hilly and wooded for central Indiana too, which adds to the enjoyment. Highly recommend!
Great Sunday brunch!
Food was excellent and the service was great.
Bruch was great!
Challenging golf course with alot of hills... the course was in great shape with the exception on a few greens that had been beat up a little but thats expected at a public course near a city... overall I had a great experience at The Fort
Great course, always one of my favorite Indiana golf courses!!!
Beautiful course, challenges you to be straight, grass is holding up well when other courses in the area are having trouble
Great course with challenging holes. Par 5's are 500yds +! Will definitely be back!
Great service!
Loved it.this was my first time going to this restaurant
Wonderful place to eat!!
Heard good things about this course and not disappointed. Good conditions and fun course. Nice smooth greens.
Course is well maintained. Greens were in good shape. Would play again. Will group people if course is busy
Great golf day at the Fort! Staff was very welcoming, courteous, and knowledgeable. From the pro-shop to the starter (who offered up some history about the course and advice on how to handle the greens). The beverage cart was there when we needed it, which was suprising considering how busy the course was. Also Ranger Max was personable, it was a pleasure meeting him. Then there was the course itself! Beautifully laid out, kudos to Pete Dye, well kept and challenging. Loved the scenery. The greens for me were hard to read, definitely needed to take the staters advice. If I had to make any complaint (which is hard to do) it's quite obvious that this course was designed and maintained with heart and pride, it would be nice if more players would fix their divots. We will definitely return to this course.
Course is in great condition and not very crowded each time I have played it this summer. Starters are always great guys and a great course for any avid golfer! Would highly recommend!
Great day!
An incredible upgrade by Pete dye.
Decent price golf for a beautiful course. Friendly helpful staff
Nice
Great customer service and the store is well maintained which makes the shopping experience awesome.
The best golf course in Indianapolis in my opinion. The layout is challenging but very fair, the grounds are always in great shape. the group of teaching and Club fitting professionals are second to none. Only minor gripes are that it's usually pretty busy and they don't have GPS on the carts.
Very nice buffet brunch.
Favorite course in Indy!
Looks nice. Played there '66-'68 when it was 9 holes. When I was in the service.
Very nice sunday brunch with omelet and waffle station, prime rib, ham and full buffett of breakfast, lunch and dinner foods.
Great place for lunch or golf!
Stop by for lunch. Excellent selection and great service but the chocolate layer cake was dry.
The Garrison is always a nice experience but lunch is somewhat limited. Your experience will be better at brunch on Saturday and Sunday
The club house was very nice.. was recently there for a wedding reception and all of the staff we interacted with were great.
Good place to golf
A Beautiful and challenging round of golf! The course provides plenty of variety requiring all clubs.
The course is well layedout and well groomed. Fair to the average golfer and challenging enough for scratch golfers. Staff is very friendly and polite.
Best range in city I think.
It's a nice place to play golf and rest assure until you're ready to leave!
Went there for retreat.. Great dining area excellent food..
Reservations needed for Sunday brunch
Great course, very well kept and managed. Staff was all friendly and helpful and kept groups ahead of us moving.
Awesome
Gorgeous course and very nice practice range too. Pro shop staff very friendly
Great golf course
Great shape. Fairways are tightly mowed, rough is up, greens are firm, fast, and consistent.
Quality coarse but you have to walk on waaaaay to many holes
I posted 5 stars but for some reason my finger must have slipped. What a great course - actually the best in Indy. Great views, great upkeep great facility! Saw deer and other wildlife - you dont even realize you are 20 min from downtown! AMAZING COURSE!!
Wonderful course Beautiful views
Had some weird people who think it is ok to hit into your group. Other wise okay.
Outstanding course. Friendly staff. Very well kept.
If you like golf courses with a scenic view on every hole then you need to play The Fort. Great day of golf!!!!
Great place to play! Challenging course with elevation changes and some great holes. If it's very wet plan on cart path only which could be a lot of walking. Still worth playing.
It waa really in great condition, fairways were tight (i dont perfer them but) the greens rolled nice and true...Dont over play breaks. You dont need to tee off with driver every hole. Its a must to play distance versus length...longer is not always better here. I did play the white tee . So blue or black could be different.
Very good food. Veggies could have been a little warmer. Everything was good
The Fort is a well laid out track with many challenges for the low an high handicapper. Keeping it in the short grass will be rewarded, but veering off the track will cost you.
Very nice course!
Great course!
Great track in good condition for the time of year. Pro shop staff and starter were all friendly and professional.
Beautiful surroundings and course. Challenging, especially from back tees. Costs a bit more to play. Need to confirm if tee times available for non-military players.
Conference Buffett good
