I don't golf, and neither did anyone else in my party. We went to the sunset tour on the course and the views were about as beautiful as any I've seen my whole stay on the island. If you golf (or if you don't), try to get here. It's incredible.

Wow. What an experience. The friendly service, the views, the lunch, everything was perfect. Everyone at Makai was well-trained and professional. Never had I had such a fun experience at a golf course. Even their technology integration worked seamlessly. The carts were equipped with GPS touch screens giving us a wealth of information (distance and shape) and the ability to order a lunch (between front and back nine) at the 8th hole. We took advantage of that and when we finished the front nine, two delicious chicken paninis loaded with pesto were waiting for us. Ocean and mountain views were breathtaking. We saw Queen's Bath and the waterfalls on the mountain, plus gorgeous wildlife everywhere. I've never seen so many interesting-looking birds, roosters, geese, etc. Impressive, all of it.

While staying at the Hanalei Bay Resort, we won two free tickets to the Makai Golfcourse Sunset Tour. Basically this is a nose-to-tail golf cart tour around the course during sunset. I think it costx $50 per person at full price. It really is a spectacular view! Only because it was funny, I have to tell you that they really hyped us up about the "plumeria forest"... which was sadly 5 plumeria trees with barely any blossoms at all. Haha! However, the ocean viewpoints were definitely worth the value! It is an amazing opportunity to see the best sunset...great photo taking opportunities, and quite romantic. This is a very low impact activity for any age group. The golf carts are quite nice, and include monitors with GPS systems too. As you approach some of the cliffs, you also get a great viewpoint of Queen's Bath.

Your money is best spent elsewhere. I’ve played this course twice. My most recent experience will be the last here. Facts: I booked a tee time at 7:00 am via telephone for 2 days in a row. I was staying at Princeville Resort. I get there and the pro shop had failed to reserve my tee time. I pay for a 7:36 am tee time. They tell me I can goto the putting green while waiting. As I go to the putting green, the starter—a major a-hole on a power trip—yells at me. I tell him I’m going to practice putting and he shuts up. Later I’m ready for my tee time, and the starter point blank yells at me again (unprovoked), “I can’t have you running all over the golf course!” Excuse me? You pay five star prices here, but don’t expect five star service. Expect some discriminatory behavior.

WOW. What more can I say? My husband and I LOVED playing this course while we were visiting Kauai for our honeymoon. The tee boxes were like butter, the service was incredible, and the views were unbeatable. If you only have time for 9-holes, go for the FRONT NINE. Otherwise, you don't want to miss the entire course. We felt like we were in golf heaven as the course staff offered FREE, fresh pineapple throughout our game. It was one of the best things we did on our trip!

I am not a golfer, however, I attended the Sunrise Yoga class ( Mon and Wed @ 730) which meets at the Makai clubhouse. After boarding our golf carts, we drove over to the 7th tee for class. Amazing view, amazing teacher. Tulasi guided us for over an hour! The class consisted of all levels. Highly recommend!

Played the new disc golf course last Wednesday (they call it Princeville Mauka Disc Golf Course) and it was amazing. A par 63 set up that will have you throwing all different kinds of shots to navigate. The course runs along 9 holes of the club's "Woods" course, but I only ran into one set of ball golfers throughout my entire round. They have both a long and short tee set up. Currently no permanent pads, but they are planning on adding them at some point. They do have small red markers to mark the tees, but I would highly recommend downloading the UDisc app to help navigate the course. The staff is very friendly and eager for people to get out to check out the disc golf course. Tom (the head golf pro) advised me about the UDisc app I mentioned above as well as driving me and my wife right to the first tee. Overall, a great way to play disc golf while seeing some amazing views of Hawaii. I'm hoping to make it back some day.

Great golf course, incredible views, not ridiculously over-priced for a resort course. It takes a while to get used to the Paspalam grass green but they putting true and there is no grain like the Bermuda grass green.

Top tier, golf experience. The course was in excellent condition. Greens are fast and roll true. Views are spectacular from several holes. Staff is friendly and extremely accommodating. I purchased the 3 day pass and they got me out for 36 holes on day 1. Can't wait to play again.

I did the 3 day unlimited play at the Princeville Makai Golf Club and it was fantastic. The course was in amazing condition. Super challenging when the wind picks up and the fairways are wide and the greens are getable. The staff were super accommadating and I was able to get tee times quite easily. Played 36 holes each day and each round was about 3hrs.

The price versus value is not correct in my view. It is a beautiful setting but so are other courses on Kauai as well. And the fact that the restaurant is self service does not add up to the claim. If you are a casual player, other courses are definitely better value for money.
