I purchased 3 truck loads if black mulch and a week later it was light brown. All the color washed away. I spoke with the owner and he was very rude and disrespectful. After telling me how much mulch he was sold with no complaints and called me a liar, he hung up me. I called back and he basically accused me of wanting free mulch and refused to give me his name on the phone, just callinh himself OWNER. So the new owner of this place is terrible and because of him - I'm sure this place will close in 2018. Until then, do yourself a favor and stay from this place.

I stopped by Frank's this morning and learned that Mr. Hawkins passed away. I was saddened to hear the news and hurt for his family, employees, and friends. He was a nice man who was always friendly to me and my children when we visit. I feel like a piece of Bowie is gone. I support local businesses and my husband and I always get our plants, yards materials, Christmas tress, and pumpkins from Frank's Garden Center. To the employees, please stay strong and know that your community is praying for you. God Bless.

Called Franks Garden Center for assistance with our monument...can you say RUDE! The person answering the phone told me unless I'm spending $4000 its not worth his time. There are plenty of Garden Centers in the Bowie area that will take our business...YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN!!!!

Updates for 9/16/18: So I finally came back to talk to Steve. He showed me the price list. It shows the Peat-moss is still on sales for $13.99. So, he did not make a mistake. It’s just overpriced here as the result. I’ll be for sure check at other stores first b4 buying here. Appreciate Steve for being candid. But I won’t shop here much any more. —————- Was I lied to? Or things at this place simply overpriced? I stopped by today looking to buy pleat moss to plant my new crape myrtles. When asked, Steve (know his name since last time I was here looking for crape myrtles and got his name, he was very helpful and seemed to be knowledgeable about the trees) told me it’s a good thing that I’m buying them cuz the 2 cubic ft of miracle grow pleat moss is currently on sales, $9 down from $18. I remember vaguely that last time I saw the price @ Home Depot was $9 a bag: So, I thought “okay, the Home Depot ones must be 1 cubic ft.” When at cashier, Steve apologized saying he was mistaken of the sales price, it went down from $18 to $14 instead. I went ahead n purchase the 5 needed bags anyway. It’s been a long day, finally now I got some time to check online for prices at other stores. The prices online are consistently the same at all the big box stores, $9 for 2 cubic ft bag! I try to support local stores and local farmers, that’s why I went here today instead of the Home Depot which also same distance from my house. But this is no way to find and keep customers by lying or overcharging. Now, I’m asking myself if it’s worth a trip to come to their store next day and give them a chance to make this right.

Horrible customer service! Immediately after the rep answered the phone, I was yelled at in a very angry tone over and over, "SPEAK INTO THE PHONE!" Mind you, I had adjusted the volume on my phone quicky to make sure I was heard and ensured I was speaking at a loud enough level for anyone to conversate. My first time ever learning about this business online, I had only called over to inquire and see if they carries a general potted flower item and was very curtly told, "I dont know what you are talking about" and was hung up on. Should have known better than to frequent a business with such a low Yelp AND Google rating.

I'm leaving a three star only because the actual owners of this place don't deserve a low rating based off of one's individual mistake.But some serious adjustments should be made to whomever answers the phone. I just needed to be heard SO: The lady that answers the phone is INCREDIBLY rude. TERRIBLE customer service. I tried calling over and over because I needed to speak with the manager/owner over a professional matter and she kept hanging up on me or yelling "Not interested" or leaving the line open so i would have no one to talk to. Mam i was not trying to sell you anything! I even tried explaining that to you, but then you hung up on me anyways! After calling SIX consecutive times, she finally transferred me to someone who could help. But seriously? Completely unprofessional and just straight up RUDE. That was the most childish interaction I've ever had with a receptionist and her reaction was absolutely unacceptable! Managers should really be weary over who they choose to answer they phone - that is a customers first impression with the business and that is a lasting memory. Be careful next time you answer the phone miss, you never know who might be on the end of the line, don't be so quick to assume.

I went there looking for roses. I was lead to some pink roses that actually had weeds growing in the pots. I asked if they had white and was told that was all they had. We left, and on our route to the car we pass white roses... they could not have sold me one things at that point.

A kind young man helped me and then was chewed out by an older man right in front of me for taking a credit card for a purchase just under five dollars. This kind of rudeness was unpleasant and unnecessary. I will shop for plants elsewhere .

bought 8 azalea plants from them...and they are dying less than 3 weeks after I purchased them. Franks says that they dont have a warranty on plants. So that is all this money down the drain. They should guarantee their plants and quality. I am thoroughly displeased. I got better quality plants from Aldi's.
