Worst seafood place of alllll of Charleston south Carolina they are terrible I went there with a friend and me and her wanted to get 3 dozon crab so we split payment 1 1/2 vise versa when we got home almost a whole dozon was "DEAD" and they Short is like 8 crab I would have wanted them to charge me more for the crab then give me dead crab and short me...so then I go on Facebook and posted on there page these people wanna argue back instead of trying to slove the situation even ask for my number give me an apology anything other then what they did I do not recommend this place at all they will short u and sell you dead crab put the dead ones to the bottom of the bag and have them count it when you can see it

Do not give this seafood market your business. They are rude, disrespectful, and obviously feel entitled to have your business. I haven’t even left the building yet but with the sub par customer service I really could car less if these are the best crabs this side of the Mississippi. They had a building filled with paying customers (all of them Of African descent) and probably showed some form of disrespect to 90% of the customers. I was especially disgusting by how they treated an elderly gentleman who asked a simple question. They have not earned our business by showing common discency and respect, and therefore do not deserve it.

Most amazing place that we went to on our vacation. Met the owner Kelly and she was the one that picked out our food. We had fried blue crabs, shrimp, fish, and crawfish. She even showed us how to crack the crabs. She is such a sweetheart. My husband is a chef and he loved the food. She's on uber eats, so look her up, challenge her to the taste of the low country. This is a must on our next trip to the South.

The catfish was greasy, french fries lacked salt. Most disappointing of all was seeing a sign on the table they said only employees could sit there and eat and yet it's covered with junk. They were out of hush puppies as well as catfish fillets so I settled on the catfish nuggets. disappointing visit..

Great prices on oysters when available. Small selection of fish from which to choose but fresh. Wonderful staff. Tried the garlic crabs, they were awesome. CB also has other cooked seafood and they sell seafood boil. They have a good size unpaved parking lot out front but it makes it difficult to see the store from the street. Still it is well worth the visit.

I went to Charlie Brown Seafood last Friday evening with a $50.00 Groupon, ordered three 10 piece shrimp/2 piece fish dinners at $11.99 each and two orders of fried crabs. Usually I check my food before leaving an establishment but didn't this time only because they were about to close but wish I'd checked it before paying because I would have left everything on the counter and walked out. The crabs were supposed to be $9.99 but when I was about to pay the price was $9.00 off. I asked why and was told because they upcharge on the weekend. I said it's Friday evening not Saturday or Sunday. They said the price changes on Friday. So the crabs were now $12.99 for 3. Before I left I said these bags sure are light (the three dinners). When I got to my destination the "dinners" were actually one small fish tail split in two pieces and ten pieces of shrimp, no sides. When I went to return them the two guys there, one on a bike, had the audacity to tell me they fixed the order personally and that's how it's done. I said that's not true because my daughter bought "dinner" there before and there was much more food and it had two sides. I told them I wanted a refund. They said they couldn't do it. I told them had I looked in the orders before I left the restaurant the first time, I would have left the food behind also ... I could have cooked that mess at home. Their prices are ridiculous and they would have you believe they are honest. Well, They're not. Just plain evil! I'm switching out the other two Groupons I have for their establishment and switch them out for another restaurant. Buyer beware of these crooks. I only wish I''d read the reviews before going to these nuts. If I could give them zero stars I would.

Kelly the owner is the sweetest. We are from Minnesota and were not sure what to order. She made us some of what she called the taste of the low country. Omg good. She even taught us how to crack the crabs. Her butter sauce is finger licking good. For a small place has alot to offer on the menu and they deliver through uber eats. A must try. If your traveling and truly want to taste the south. Go to Charlie browns.

Went today for very first time. Im from the Maryland/Virginia area, and i was impressed. Quick service and great live mixed crabs. I got the mild garlic seasoning to cook my crabs in. PERFECTION!!! Great staff and i assume that the older lady is the manager/owner. I observed as she handled two customers at the same time with professionalism. I will be back soon.

drove from charlotte on a monday arrived at 4Pm picked up 2 bushes live crab .. put a towel and ice over the bushes 4 hr to get back to charlotte . put in bath tub over nit under ice .on tuesday at 4pm we steamed the 1st bushe . steamed new potatoes and shrimp and corn . in a seasoning they gave me free served 30 people . bust male ever': only complaint Got 2 bushes only needed one . had to steam and freeze second.

Ok, I'm new in the area, and searching for that one place I can get some good crabs.. Today CB was out of crabs. So I ordered the fish and shrimp dinner. The fish and shrimp were outstanding. The fries were thick and the okra was bland. I'm a big proponent of businesses investing back into their business. The decor of this place were horrid. It was junky and not pleasing to my eyes. As I searched for a place to sit, I was only met with a group of mismatched dusty and dirty chairs. I did not want to sit on that crap. Anyhow, if this is the standard in the area, it is what it is. I guess when there is little competition, little things like seating doesn't matter. Ending on a bright note : the fish and shrimp were good, the portion to price ratio was good, and the people were super nice.

Well on our 1st visit there were issues with two separate customers, which is alright until an employee began a screaming cussing match. On the 2nd visit we had no problems we were able to get exactly what we wanted plus great customer service. I felt as if they were very aware and knowledgeable of the product. I can only say the 1st experience. The customer and the employee both must have been having a bad day. But upon my return to the Charleston South Carolina area I will go to Charlie Brown again

Beware of this place and the employees. I called them calm and respectful about dead crabs that were in my bag ( that had to have been dead for a while because the smell was so bad) and I only live ten mins away so there's no way they would smell that bad so fast. They had no respect, telling me that he doesn't put dead crabs in the bags (over and over) and then hung up on me. VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I will never go there again. Worst place I've every been to in Charleston!

I am so disappointed, I went on Saturday and got the special 10 garlic crabs for $20. I also purchased 3 fried for $12. The fried crabs were delicious , the garlic crabs were disgusting. They seem to have been frozen, they just didn't seem fresh at all. Some of the meat even looked brown. I am extremely disappointed and I drove all the way from Summerville to get them, I spent almost $50 on food and I am not pleased. I chose to go here over Fishnet , because it was closer. I couldn't even finish the crabs my husband threw them in the garbage. A few hours after eating just one whole crab, which I had to struggle to eat, (it was that bad) I GOT SICK!! I had extreme stomach pains and diarrhea , I was down for the rest of the day and was sick even into Sunday!! I will NEVER purchase from this place ever again!! I should've known better when I could smell the stink of seafood from the parking lot, I didn't even go in, my husband went inside for me. I will take the almost one hour drive and continue to give Fishnet in Red Top, my business. If there was an option for zero stars, that's what they would get!! Very dissatisfied customer!!

A few weekends ago I purchased 3 doz live male blue crabs and 2lbs of live crawfish from Charlie Brown Seafood! This is the second fresh seafood spot I have visited since moving to SC. Coming from Maryland, I am a lifelong fan of steamed crabs and started steaming them myself! I have always been skeptical about blue crabs from anywhere besides the Chesapeake Bay and figured any seafood spot around Charleston would have Louisana or Florida blue crabs but then I stumbled upon Charlie Brown Seafood! They had live males fresh out of South Carolina water! I got the crabs and crawfish, took them home to steam them, and when I pulled the crabs out of the bag they were huge! I was not expecting the quality of seafood from this place! It was a pleasant surprise! Charlie Brown seafood is no joke! I definitely recommend to those looking for live crabs to steam! I can’t wait for the next dozen!

So my mom hang up on her, because of her rudeness. Please make sure you check your crabs before you leave there. I heard they have issues before, but they will no longer get our services.

Drove from Myrtle Beach to get some Jacksonville garlic crabs. This is my second visit here and I have been satisfied every time. The owner Mrs. Brown was very nice and thanked us over and over for driving that far for garlic crabs. Will be going back soon

Just lost my business. I was way over charged for my fish. I called to let them know and I could hear the owner in the background being extremely rude. They guy admitted he charged me incorrectly and again I hear her in the background say it should be that price (even though the sign clearly says otherwise). She then proceeded to have him tell me she will agree to take 50 cents off my next order. No thanks! There wont be a next order. I went in to get fish to make my family dinner. I paid $20 and cant even feed one kid with what they gave me. Fool me once! And the cherry on top, the fish cleaner was outside moving a dumpster then walked in the front door and started touching fish. Umm gross!!!!

Well, the lady working the register must have been having a bad day because she was a long ways from courteous and the blue crabs that we bought, I don't know if there is a specific time of year that is best for buying blue crabs but our crabs seemed extra small. Idk. But they were alive and well and no one got sick on the Oysters so if it wasn't for the lady dragging us into her bad day I would have given Charlie Brown Seafood 4 stars.
