BEST Natural Chowder and clam cakes you'll find! No matter where else we order those 2 items it always comes down to "How soon can we get back to Amaral's. Super Platter excellent sampler: scallops can't be matched - clams wonderful, shrimp - don't let anybody else take yours! And white fish is great! Quick service eat-in or take-out. Been coming here close to 40 years - wishing all of you the same!

The fish and chips was tasty. If I had to guess they use fresh fish because there's a certain quality and taste to it. The calamari was really good as well. It different than what I'm used to from the west coast. Love how they put pepperchini on top which gave the calamari a tang and some spice. Their clam chowder was amazing. I can actually taste the clam in the soup and had pretty good portion of clams. It was my first time trying clamcakes and it was just alright. It's too bready for me. We ordered more white chowder to go along with their Portuguese sweet bread. Overall, this a great little shack for great food. If you're passing through it a must.

I shared a Super Platter with my wife. This included shrimp, clams, scallops and fish with fries and Cole slaw. Everything was delicious! Cooked to perfection. The staff was very friendly. The next time I have a hankering for fried seafood Amaral's will be at the top of the list.

Yankee magazine has their fish and chips as top 10 in New England . I'm not sure about that , but that were great just the same . Also had the fried smells which were ok . That being said the service was excellent and it's great to go to a family run restraunt like this these days . I will be back , places like this are few and far between these days .

Fish and chips are excellent. Batter is not too thick or greasy. Clam chowder comes creamy white, red and clear and all are delicious. Also fried clams and scallop dinners are very popular. The dining area is quite small and crowded and take out is very busy. Even so service is fast. Takes credit cards and cash.

Probably the best seafood we've had in a long time in Rhode island. The location is owned by a few brothers and they run it like a family friendly spot. However they run it very professionally and very efficiently. very cozy environment and there were all kinds of customers there. We ordered the clam chowder and the fish and chips. but it was so good we also ordered a side of coleslaw and a side of clam cakes. We just kept eating the food was amazing. Not a spot for vegetarians unless you like just eating coleslaw or fries. The fries were incredibly fresh and look like they don't use the same oil over and over again like a lot of places.

Have you ever had fish and chips cold? I've eaten here a few times but I was late picking up my food and it was room temp.. I really didnt care because of the first time I went I thought to myself .. if I can eat this cold I may have stumbled upon the greatest place on earth for fish and chips.. its buttery flavorful and I inhaled it just like the very first time I found this place.. Amaral's... writing this review makes me want to drive the 10 miles into Rhode island just to grab another plate. Thank you for an incredible meal.

Was here for the first time Friday night I think quantity was very small 6 fried scallops cut in half and 12 small fried clams with fries and 6 clam cakes and a bowl of chowder $37.00 oh 1 bottle of water. If portion was bigger I would of been happier . will not go back

A wonderful family establishment that treats you like family also. The Seafood and Chowder and all that go along with them, Stuffies, Clamcakes, etc are always fabulous and never ever disappoint. I just want to recommend browsing the menu as their Sandwiches are terrific also!! The Amaral family will never let you down whether it is lunch or dinner. They have also been wonderful in giving back to the community; they very quietly are very generous helping out fundraisers that go along with small town efforts from families in need to fire station events and more.

This has been THE go to place for fish and chips and seafood for my family ever since I was a kid. Excellent food, service, and prices are more than reasonable. A small family owned "hole in the wall" place which doesn't look like much from the outside, but believe me, they have the best seafood in RI. Fish and chips, Stuffies, scallops, shrimp, fried clams, clam cakes, and unbelievable clam chowder. They also have really good sandwhichs, including the excellent fish grinder. My wife never had Amarals until she met me 7 years ago, and now she is addicted. You won't have a bad meal here.

Best clam cakes and tartar sauce ever! Fish n chips are great too but you have to eat there. If you get it to go it is always soggy by the time you eat it and I only live 5 minutes away.
