A great experience even before I arrived. I filled out the needed paperwork online, so there was nothing to do when I arrived. My wait was short. The office was pleasant and the staff was amazingly friendly. I actually hated to leave and go back to work because I was enjoying watching a TV show - all the chairs have large flat screen TVs and the quality of the TV service was great - not what you typically find at a dentist's office. You need to see Dr. Chand if you are looking for a great dentist and great experience. If you are looking for a dentist for yourself a kids dentist or just a family dentist in McLean, look no further - Dr. Chand and McLean Family Dentistry is it!

I informed the staff that I was TERRIFIED of getting fillings and that I’d have a horrible previous experience. To my surprise, I didn’t have to stop the procedure due to me being able to feel the drilling and have to get numbed up again. Had a great experience and am very happy with the services rendered. I have been going to dentists for decades but I can honestly say that the professionalism and care that I have received from this practice is unlike any other. The front office staff is extremely warm and friendly. I take my children (7 & 2 years of age) for their visits and each time they are very comfortable getting their cleaning done. Dr. Chand is patient, thoughtful and deals with each of their personalities in the appropriate manner to ensure the smoothest experience at each visit. Not only is she pleasant but she is very good at what she does. I highly recommend this practice for adults and children alike!

I am new to the area and I was looking for a new dentist. I goggled a few, and after some research I chose Dr. Chand's office. (It helped that we're both VCU alumni!). When I called to make an appointment, I was enthused by the friendly and helpful staff. Luckily, they made me an appointment right away! I admit, I hadn't been to the dentist in a while, so I was afraid of how Dr. Chand would respond to my teeth. She made me feel calm and relaxed, and she assured me that my absence from the dentist was normal. My first appointment was a cleaning, and boy did my teeth feel so rejuvenated after she was done! I ended up needing a few filling for some cavities, and Dr. Chand and her assistant Elizabeth took great care of me. They are both super friendly and professional. This was hands down, my best experience at a dentist. I referred her to many of my colleagues and they all had pleasant experiences too. Thank God I found my dentist!!!

Dr. Chand is awesome! Her office is very stylish, with all the latest dental technologies, and her office staff is warm and professional. Dr.chand really and truly cares about all her patients. She is part of the entire processs not like other offices where the dentist just comes at the end of the visit. She is compassionate and very knowledable in her practice. Her office location is very easy and convenient to get to. Most importantly Dr.Chand reviews every diagnosis in detail and provides the pros and cons of each and then guides you through the process. Charming, modern and new facility. The nurse and the receptionist were very friendly, considerate and professional. The dentist, Uppasna, was great! She is very friendly and professional and gave me sound advise on what she thought was critical to get done vs. what was nice to get done for the long term health of my teeth. I was not uncomfortable during any part of the cleaning or filling procedures. Uppasna also recommended a natural non-alcohol containing mouth-freshener which has been working very well for me. I've already set up my appointment for the 6 month check up!

It was my first time at McLean Family Dentistry but I cannot stop raving about my positive experience. First, the office is very clean and modern, but still exudes a “homey” feel, which made me feel very comfortable and calmed my nerves. Second, the office staff is super friendly, greeting you nicely and further helping you to settle down. Third, I enjoyed the two TV screens that were mounted to the ceiling as well as on the wall in front of me, which allowed me to chill and enjoy my show the whole time while getting my teeth cleaned. I was bracing myself for the worst as it had been 4 years since I had my last cleaning, but Joy, the hygienist, was fantastic. She was kind and gentle and took the time to explain the treatment, my gum conditions, and actually showed me sometimes why I was feeling a little discomfort (I had bleedings due to unhealthy gums from my 4 years of neglect), which was all super helpful. I also received further instructions and demos on how to better take care of my teeth each day, which I have already started to implement. Dr. Assar then came to further examine some issues I had, and she was super friendly and explained to me in detail what will need to get done. I am very satisfied and am happy to finally have found a dentist that I can turn to long-term. My teeth look and feel super clean and I have new motivation to better take care of my teeth. My wife and I LOVE Dr. Chand. Nothing against all of the grey haired dentists out there, but Dr. Chand is young, full of energy, and uses all of the most up to date technology that dentistry has to offer. She and her staff are exceptionally friendly, and make you feel very comfortable during each visit. (As comfortable as you can be while your teeth are being drilled anyway.) Very importantly though, having gone with out dental insurance I can speak first hand to the outrageous prices some of the dentists in the area charge. McLean Family Dentistries prices are VERY reasonable.

I went to McLean Family Dentistry today for a biannual cleaning. Upon entering the office I was greeted by a friendly receptionist. Within two minutes I was taken to an exam room and introduced to Joy, the hygienist who would be picking at my plaque for the next half hour. Joy was very friendly and pleasant from the start. She was gentle on my gums and teeth. She was very knowledgeable along the way. She informed me of a 5-day whitening cycle they offered for $25. Something I would consider as coffee is my vice. She also told me about a laser treatment for cold sores. Useful for those unsightly sores. After my 20 minute cleaning, Dr. Assar came in to exam my mouth. She was also very kind and pleasant. I highly recommend McLean Family Dentistry. They are a team of professionals who treat their patients like "family."

You seriously could not go to a better dentist office. All-women run (from what I can tell), I will genuinely miss going there almost every week which I have done most of the last two months for serious dental work. I used to hate the dentist. I've always been very sensitive to pain (and scared to speak up), had very soft teeth, and a pretty small mouth. So it sucked. But at McLean Family Dentistry, you are actually part of their family. Everyone is so nice, patient, helpful, kind, understanding...I could go on. When I was trying to get all of my dental work scheduled in a short period of time and had a difficult work schedule, they were so accommodating. I work in McLean and live in DC, but even if I ever change jobs, I'll go back to them again and again.

Dr Chand has a cute little office in downtown McLean. We have been with her for about 1 year. Recently, our whole family including my two year old and my four year old had a check up and cleaning with her. She was able to schedule us back to back. She seems to be very comfortable working on kids and kept them entertained. She used some little tricks to get them to cooperate that I have actually been using on my 2 year old to help me to get him to brush. She also recommended a Disney cleaning app that they have been using on the IPAD which has gotten them somewhat excited about brushing their teeth. Unfortunately, I needed to come back to have a crown done and she explained the procedure to me in terms that I could understand. I was a little nervous about the procedure but it went smoothly and she completed it without any complications. The crown ended up needing a minor adjustment and after just one phone call she was able to get me back in her office that afternoon and get it taken care of. After dentist hopping for a few years, I think i have finally found a dentist close to home that I feel comfortable with.

The day I had my cleaning the office manager and staff played with my baby so that I could get my cleaning done. I have never been to a practice where they do that! A+ from me and my family! They invest in the latest technology, the staff participates in ongoing training to stay on top of developments in their field, everyone is professional and friendly and they are always on time for my appointments. Have you ever wanted to hug your dentist after an hour of drilling your tooth? Me neither...until today. My new dentist is SO awesome I have to share her. What first struck me about Dr. Uppasna Chand of McLean Family Dentistry was the feeling that I was in the presence of a woman who became a doctor because she cares about and wants to help people. She went out of her way, strictly for my benefit, to help me when I urgently needed it (and found out my new insurance didn't cover dental for a year). Her generosity and kind nature are amazing. Dr. Chand is compassionate, gentle, funny and an all around beautiful person both inside and out! And her staff is just as incredible as she is. All smiles, friendly and happy do whatever they can to make you as comfortable as possible. Her office is also super cool! There are TVs on the walls and ceilings so you can catch up on your favorite shows while she works on your smile and it's equipped with the latest technology and most modern equipment, which she uses to provide you with as much information as possible about your teeth. My sister drove me to and from my appointment today and on the way there I suggested that she and her family should see Dr. Chand, but she said they already have a dentist they love. Later, she commented on my FB page "I like my dentist too but I'm thinking about going to her after meeting her today". OK, I know it's a little strange to go off on a rant about your wonderful dentist, and no I'm not related to her and I'm not a paid actor. I just want you to be as happy with your dentist as I am with mine. So, if you’re nervous for days, like I was, before your appointment or refer to your dentist’s office as The Little Shop of Horrors, like I used to, next time go see Dr. Chand.

I took my two sons for their routine dental check up after hearing from my friends about mclean family dentistry, couldn't been happier!! Dr chand was so friendly with kids. Boys had such a pleasnat experience that they are no longer scared of dental checkups. She educated both of them about their dental health and importance of having healthy gums and teeth. My 8 years old now has a stop clock in his bathroom and does the brushing for atleast 2-3 minutes as instructed by the dentist. She was very professional yet very easy to talk to. Her staff is also very friendly. Being a physician myself I am a little picky when it comes to procedures and instruments, but I was very impressed with her work ethics and attention to details.

I was looking for a dentist in the area and luckily a friend recommended me to go see Dr. Chand. I knew I had some cavity filling to be done but was procrastinating it because of the general fear or so I thought. But my experience was opposite of that, it was very pleasing and comfortable. Dr. Chand and staff have a state-of-art clinic and are professionals. In fact, Dr. Chand has a good sense of humor too, I left her clinic smiling every single time. I had teeth cleaning and cavity work done by Dr. Chand, she did a fantastic job at it. she explained to me the where, why and how the work was needed. A co-worker of mine needed to see a dentist urgently for dental crown placement and she was from out-of-town, I recommended her to see Dr. Chand and she was kind enough to accommodate my co-worker's urgent's request to see her. At the end of it, my co-worker was very happy with Dr. Chand's work. To sum it up, I am glad that Dr. Chand is my dentist, she is awesome.

It's not due to discomfort or fear of the visit itself, it's really the potential waiting, and paperwork, and taking time out of my busy day. The team at McLean Family Dentistry has changed my entire perception of all of that for me. From the moment I walk in the front door, I'm treated exceptionally well. They have a lovely waiting room, but I've never spent more than 30 second in it, as I'm seen immediately every single time. Every member of the team is wonderful, from the front desk, to the hygenist, to billing, and of course, Dr. Chand. I really can't say enough good things about this practice. I took my three (hesitant) children to get their 6 month dental checkups with Dr. Chand last month. Upon arriving at the office, one of the first things I noticed is that the office is set up to feel like a cozy living room: large television, comfy couch, and most importantly no medicinal smells! As for the actual exams, Dr. Chand was professional, personable and relatable. She was extremely patient with all the kids, explained what she was doing as she went along, and allowed the kids to examine the instruments so they knew exactly what to expect. My youngest daughter actually cried because she wanted to stay at the office after the exam and watch the TV that was attached to the ceiling above the dental chair. Highly recommend.

Dr. Chand is extremely patient with apprehensive toddlers. It was nice having the ability to make multiple visits so the kids could get acclimated with Dr. Chand, her office, and staff. They loved the "prize" they received and are eager to come back to collect another prize. It's really great for kids!

Uppasna Chand has great knowledge and skill. Initially I went to her for a second opinion after another dentist told me I had a cavity. She examined my teeth and evaluated me with her state of the art equipment and told me nothing needed to be done. Which made sense because I had no symptoms. I have had several appointments will her and each time she has seen me promptly at times that fit my schedule. With her new convenient location in McLean, VA I plan to have my entire family shift their dental needs to her practice.
