The people are friendly and one dental hygienist I spoke with gave a lot of good dental care tips I could use. However, we decided to go to Monarch because of location convenience for our whole family (My wife and I and our two boys, aged 6 and 5). They happily took our business and checked all our teeth, but when they found a cavity in my 5-year-old, they told us they don't do that for kids and we'd need to go to a pediatric dentist. The pediatric dentist needed to take their own set of xrays and do their own check before they'd go in and fix a tooth, so we had to pay twice for those services. I'm just mad at Monarch for not being upfront with us about not working with children. Update: After my wife's checkup, she went back in to get a cracked permanent retainer repaired. When she went in to get it fixed, they couldn't do the repair because she had a cavity underneath that they missed during the initial checkup, although it was clear on the x-rays. So, she had to schedule another appointment for the cavity. Then another for the actual repair. We'll never go there again.

I had a crown done wrong which led me to needing a root canal that failed and ended up getting my tooth pulled a couple years ago at the Orem office. That was an awful experience in itself but Monarch took responsibility and was going to pay for the implant, so I went ahead and got the implant. They transferred me to the American Fork office because that is where they do implants. I've spent hours and hours at Monarch and it's not easy for me to take work off. There were two appointments I showed up for that they just sent me home. One was because "the other dentist must have taken the tool they needed". After my first crown was put on, it fell off a few days later because it wasn't tightened enough. They remade my crown and I came back a couple weeks later. At this point I hadn't had a tooth for like a year and my other teeth shifted a little, so there goes my orthodontic work. The second crown wasn't put on tight enough either, and they said there's really nothing they can do to tighten it without drilling into the crown and they didn't want to do that. Now I'm stuck with a super annoying loose implant that drives me crazy every day. They tried to bill my insurance a year after the initial problem and by that time I had new insurance, so obviously the old one isn't going to cover it. Monarch said I wouldn't be responsible but they kept sending me bills, so I'd call and they'd say to just ignore them because they were trying to see if my old insurance would cover anything. Then their collections agency started calling... I explained the situation and they said they'd stop but continued to call. I finally got that resolved but am still stuck with a poorly done crown. I feel like they don't respect your time and I don't get why it's so hard to just get it right. There were a lot of other little things that happened during other appointments, like being the fist appointment of the day and showing up on time but no one is there from their office yet... I can say that Lindsay at their front desk was really awesome and helpful throughout the entire experience but that's really it.

I found Monach through my insurance, and with 2 kids, I needed an office with extended/some Saturday hours. I have had a few teeth giving me concern for years, that started 30ish years earlier with an injury. Monach has FINALLY helped me find a solution I LOVE and is without maintenance or dentures/partials!!! The office staff is amazing (Stephanie!!), but with a few MINOR exceptions with new hygienists, which were taken care IMMEDIATELY, I have ZERO complaints! Even my kids don't mind when they have appointments

Probably the worst decision I ever made was getting my wisdom teeth taken out here. The girls were nice but that doesnt change what I had to deal with, I had my procedure on a Wednesday, immediately I should have backed out! They didnt have the right xrays and the dr. Refused to listen, I told him multiple times that's not my mouth I only have 3 wisdom teeth in my mouth. After telling him that for 30 minutes he finally retook my scans and said there was a mix up. After the surgery I was told to call if I had any problems. Let's just say all i had was problems, the dr was so rough my face was so bruised for over a week, i had bumps in my gum and an infection like never before. Knowing everyone responds different and I assumed it was normal pain I sucked it up as long as I could. I decided to call and let them know what was going on because something was terribly wrong. I called at least 8 times a day, from Friday day until Monday morning. There is no exaggeration in how many times I called. I left messages with the office. With the on call line. I had a 3 month old baby and couldn't afford an emergency room visit. I had so much pain and drainage and my temperature was 103 for a solid three days the fourth day I was up to 104 and couldn't tolerate the pain. I had no idea what was going on. I needed to get ahold of someone. As a dr. Doing a surgery I would expect him to be available after the procedure to at least talk me through the complications. Finally after literally 40 phone calls to the on call line and the office I finally got a hold of someone. Saying my dr. Was in riverdale and i would need to drive an hour to see him or i could wait for week and a half. I explained I had a temperature of 104, severe pain, and the drainage and symptoms were just getting worse I couldn't wait, they told me I could come right in. So I packed my 3 month old in the car got there in 10 minutes and waited for over an hour to be seen. When they saw me they said why didnt you call, then I showed them my call history and the lady laughed and said oh the dr. On call usually just turns his phone off. Which was unbelievable, to be in that much pain and have it be a joke was absurd. Finally they saw me, my mouth was locked shut from so much infection the dentist was nice, she said I needed strong antibiotics, I told her I was breastfeeding and needed one safe for the baby, then I informed her of my allergies to a few antibiotics that were listed in my chart. She wrote me a prescription and I walked out. I looked at my prescription and of course she wrote it for one that was unsafe for breastfeeding and one I was highly allergic to. So I had to go back again and get a new one. It took me over a month to heal and I am still in shock that i couldn't get the help i needed. Then months later I get a call from collections saying I have a bill. Well I played up front and had no idea there was a remaining balance, I called and made sure they had the correct address and asked for a statement so I knew what I was paying for, I did this 4 times, i was told it was my fault I wasnt receiving a statement so I said I'm happy to pay I just need to know what I'm paying so you could email me a statement and I'll take care of it, I verified my information 3 times. I still have not gotten a statement. This has been the biggest headache and I'm in shock that I've been treated this way throughout this whole experience. So if someone from the office could send me a statement for this whole joke, I would love to be done with this nightmare and never have to think about this ridiculous incident again. Thanks.

I had a bad toothache,and I called them at 8:am they were able to get me in by 9am and pulled my tooth, the dentist was amazing, the girls in the office were awesome, every one made me feel comfortable and explained everything to me. Really love the service and the attention I got from the minute I walked in. I never liked going to the dentist and this was my 1st time in about 2 years. They made me feel very comfortable and I was only a little nervous compared to the emotional and mental breakdown I was having on the way there. All in all The experience made me feel Comfortable enough to return again next week to finish the cleaning of my teeth. This office are full of no-good, false advertisers!! I would not recommend their business! First, they claim to be open on Saturdays, but this is absolutely not true. Second, they claim to do in house teeth extractions and oral surgery. This is also completely false! I went into this office because they claimed to be open on Saturday, but they were not, so I set an appointment for Monday because I have a wisdom tooth that needs to be extracted because I have been in pain for about 5 days. They told me that they might be able to pull it for me that same day. Also, it should be noted that I am 22 weeks pregnant and they refused to do ANYTHING for me unless they had documentation and permission from my OBGYN. Then, once I went through the fiasco to get them this stupid document, they did NOTING WITH IT! I went to the appointment and all they did was take an x-ray (which I didn't even need because I had x-rays taken a month before at another dentist office) and then had me wait in a chair for an HOUR AND A HALF for the doctor to finally come in and look at the tooth for 10 seconds, and then send me away telling me that they can't pull it and their oral surgeon is ONLY located IN SALT LAKE. Not in their American Fork office like they claim on their website and on the outside of their building. Also, their earliest appointment from this oral surgeon isn't even available for 2 and a half weeks!! So, basically I wasted this appointment for them to tell me things I already knew and they didn't do a single thing about it. They just wanted me to come in so they could get money from my insurance. Just fraudsters if you ask me.

It really made me feel comfortable and at ease which is hard for me to say since I hate going to the dentist like most people. I would have given it 6 but I can only give it 5.

If I could have put zero start then I would have! Worst dental office I have ever been to. First of all, I was told it would be $29.99 for the exam and xrays but I was told I had to pay $118.00!! The receptionist had to put 6 or 7 people on hold while I was there. She clearly COULD NOT handle the amount of calls on her own. She promised me she would call me back that afternoon for a follow up appointment. 8 days later, I ended up calling her. She told me I had to be referred out to a specialist to get a tooth extracted but yet they say they do in house extractions??? I seriously should have read the negative reviews on here before I went. I would have definitely chose somewhere else. I have been in pain with this damn tooth now for almost two weeks and for a dental company to jerk someone around is absolutely ridiculous. I will for sure recommend ALL of my Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter friends to STAY AWAY from this place!!

I had originally gone to a different dentist’s office and the procedure I needed to get done wasn’t covered by my insurance. It would have cost me over $3000. I went to monarch and Lindsay was amazing! She took the time to call my insurance and helped me get a discounted rate. Saved me almost $2000. Lindsay is amazing, dr brown is amazing! I went in Friday to get a tooth fixed. My tooth broke Tuesday. They told me they could get me in Friday. I told them it needed a root canal if they could not do that to just pull it. I was just over being in pain and having a whole in my tooth. I get there was there for an hour, the dentist looked at my teeth, putting a cold metal object on my teeth, not even focusing on the tooth I went in for. Finally her asst came in with a $2500+ treatment plan and a prescription for amoxicillin. Told me to take that and come back in 1-3 weeks depending on their schedule because the dentist doesn’t work on top teeth?!! Are you serious?! When I scheduled the appointment I told them what tooth it was told them the pain, and they said I’d get it all done Friday. Needless to say after being there an hour I left I in more pain. I will never go back here.

They charged me $100 for a flouride treatment that no other office has ever charged. Made it seem like I would have issues if I didn't do it. Not knowing better, I did it. The flouride rinse lasted abouta minute. Ridiculous.Dont get scammed, they'll up sell you just like a shady mechanic might.

Dr. Atkins is an excellent surgeon. He is also very meticulous and was so careful with the needle that it didn't hurt. That never happened to me before. I hope he never moves away because then I would have to move there too; it is hard to find doctors as good as Dr. Atkins. HIs staff is also excellent, kind, and helpful.

Doctor brown failed to tell me she broke a piece of file in my root during a root canal and the tooth has been accessing for five months because of it. Monarch dental has given me the run around on the retreat and when I finally got in to the only specialist they have to fix the tooth two days ago I was told he could not fix there and I would have to see him at his private practice because he didn’t have the tools necessary to fix it at monarch dental.

Office proceeded to clean my teeth and bill insurance and would NOT follow through. We were billed in January and told it was going to collection. WHAT? The bill was received THAT week. We have a stellar credit rating. We called that day. They apologized and said they would rebill to insurance. Billed again in February. Called and found it was THEIR error and they would rebill again today to insurance today. (Never happened). New bill arrived in March. Called and they stated they would handle it today. I told them I would move our family account if we could not get this resolved. I asked to talk to the manager and told she would call on Friday. (Never happened). Insurance was finally rebilled March 23rd. I walked into the office and made a scene because it just was not being handled. I was told the Office manager will call on Friday. (Never happened). REALLY? I will pay the $106 so my credit remains intact, but this office has lost our confidence. Enough broken promises. Too bad.

Went in for a chipped tooth that is giving me pain. Not one thing was done with the tooth i went in for. They for some reason couldnt get ahold of my insurance, which i had called and spoke with someone right away and conformed i had insurance. All in all poor service. I am now heading to an emergency dentist to have my tooth removed.

Everything in the office was fine. But you better hope there are no complications because getting a hold of a doctor after hours is impossible. I’ve called three times in the last two days and haven’t gotten one call back. Probably going to have to end up going to the emergency room.

I had been here for 3 times and done with them. And indeed, each time I paid my portion in front and left them deal with the insurance company. However, each time I still received billing from them. And I meant each time, even I confirmed with them after I paid off my portion. “Yes, you’re cleared. No balance left”. And each time was a lie. Why was I keeping going there to make myself as idiot? Well, I was trying to believe in them and assumed that dealing with insurance company could be a headache. But really?! Every time?! The dental assistant told you to floss and brush your teeth daily. And that’s it. Then you got charged $30 for hygiene instructions. Yes, going to the detailed transactions which they filed could lead to some joke. I would suggest whoever come here should ask a detailed claim code list and whatever charge list and make sure you are well known why they are charging for. Plenty of dentists around the area and I need to keep my journey. Btw, if the office manager reads this comment and suggests email her, please save your time. I called every time and nothing changed the greedy facts and lies.

My daughter had all of her wisdom teeth taken out today by the oral surgeon Dr. Richard H. Steele. He did an excellent job! Explained everything to us completely before hand and was great at helping her feel comfortable before the procedure which was such a plus since she was extremely nervous and it was her first time getting an IV. He was kind, skilled, proficient and caring. Highly recommend him and the quality caring staff as well, especially the dental assistant Summer. Thank you Monarch Dental AF! :)

Waited for 50 minutes after my appointment time to be seen. My appointment ended up only being a limited exam rather than a cleaning and exam which I asked for over the phone when scheduling. When I was seen the tech asked “was this pregnancy an accident?” when I told her I already had kids at home. Very poor manners. The Dr ended up being nice for the few minutes I saw home which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1.
