I've had lower back issues since 1990, when I was 15 years old. For 22 years I toughed it out, going to various chiropractors whenever I was laid up with a bad back. I began my career as a wild land firefighter in 1998. Each year I would end hurt my back in the middle of the fire season. I would eat Advil like candy and spend a week lying on my living room floor, waiting for the pain to subside. In 2012 I wrenched my back while digging hand line on a wild land fire. It was a busy fire season, so I decided to go to a chiropractor and do EXACTLY what he said, rather than just go for one treatment and call it good. I found Atlas Chiropractic on the web and gave them a call. They made room for me to come in that day for my first treatment. After a few adjustments I was good as new. I continued my treatments, making the 70 mile drive to see Dr. Hardy on a weekly basis for a number of months. Week by week, my chronically aching back began to get stronger. I now stop in for an adjustment at Atlas Chiropractic every time I make it to Sheridan. (Typically, once a month.) The regular treatments have essentially "cured" my lower back issues. Once in a while things will begin to get "wonky," but I no longer end up laid up for days at a time. After a quick adjustment, I'm good to go! It's been a life changing experience since I started visiting Dr. Hardy.

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Clare for over 15 years and we would recommend her to anyone. Back in 2000 he was suffering miserably from a herniated L4-L5 back injury. Stacy was unable to work and spent days laying on his stomach on the floor paralyzed with the lower back pain that only those who have experienced it can imagine. Pain clinic visits and steroid injections were no longer helping and surgery seemed like the only option. Dr. Clare saw him, ordered x-rays, (which I believe she can do in-office now) began treatment and education with us about whole-body and spinal health, and within a couple months he was able to return to work. Stacy now is pain-free in his lower back and only sees Dr. Clare a few times a year for maintenance adjustments. She literally "saved him from the knife" and for that we will always be grateful. I began seeing her at that time as well for shoulder pain as I'd been suffering from snapping scapula syndrome (and wearing an awful "posture bra" for months. Today, my shoulder no longer bothers me, and over the years Dr. Clare has consistently delivered skilled and intuitive care. I saw her regularly through both of my pregnancies when I had awful sciatic pain (as well as other ailments that only women who have had multiple children can know the horror of), and honestly I don't know if I could have survived without her. Through my 2nd pregnancy I saw her weekly in my third trimester and not only was I able to be active and carry my daughter to term, but I also was able to access support and other very helpful treatments such as acupuncture all from the same provider. Dr. Clare has ALWAYS been flexible with us as private-pay patients also, although most insurance plans are accepted there. Currently I utilize my medical flex-benefits to pay for visits. Clare has become a friend of our family. She examined both of my children shortly after birth to ensure that alignment wasn't disturbed during delivery. She has worked with me through a recent knee injury, as well as introducing us to Standard Process and the amazing concept of purification through diet, which we both successfully lost 20 lbs. doing this past year. She is well-read on recent studies regarding holistic health practices, and is very knowledgeable of community services and resources. I like to tell her she is a "one-woman-band" providing chiropractic care, acupuncture, nutrition consultation, whole-health care for women, great sound objective advice, innovative resources, and even the occasional shoulder to cry on for her patients. I am lucky to have a great primary care provider, however, under Dr. Clare's care in addition, I feel that my needs are completely met.
