I have loved this place since I was a kid. Amazing summer salads and the muffins are so good! The creme brulee was perfect! My favorite dish is their strawberry and grilled shrimp salad. I've only seen it in the summer but it's totally worth a trip!

Saturday 3/30/2019 my family (6) was in town celebrating the remaining days of my 67th birthday celebration. We had our meal between 12pm and 1:15pm. Upon getting ready to leave we spotted a Cockroach walking from beneath the bread basket (he was snug between the bottom of the wax and metal basket). It was brought to our server’s attention who didn’t seem shocked at all. However, he was bold enough to want to give my niece the bill. After she spoke to manager she didn’t have to pay. She was told the place is “sprayed every week”. Close the place down and give it a thorough cleaning. But, I won’t be back here!!!

Never again! We were just tortured for two and a half hours. Everything we needed was a process. Not enough silver ware st the table, I waited 20 minutes while my food got cold. Need a refill, good luck. Want dessert, better settle in for another 45 minutes. Ask for the check, he delivers it 30 minutes later. They screwed up our plans because we couldn’t make our afternoon appt. I didn’t plan to have Mimi’s Cafe completely monopolize my day. Make the omelets, serve them, collect the money, and set the customers free. Don’t hold people hostage! It was like dinner at my ex mother in laws house. Torture! To qualify, the waiter was very kind. He had to many tables and the kitchen is slower than Christmas. We loved this place. NO MORE! This absolutely sucked.

Was in on Thursday for Breakfast with my wife. When I opened the menu and saw the prices, especially $11.29 for "4" Pancakes! WHAT? It was even more for French toast! That's insane, who are they kidding charging outrageous prices like that. So we went to Millie's Restaurant and was served the Best Breakfast at the best prices. Thanks Millie's Restaurant, We will be back! 5 Stars fir Millie's Restaurant. We'll NOT be back to you Mimi.

So maybe my expectation was too high for mother's day but they did have a very limited course menu so I'm not sure what the excuse is. it took us 2 hours to receive our food from the time we put our name in. They got several things wrong on our order and the water tasted like soap. personally my eggs benedict was actually pretty good and the server and manager were both apologetic but definitely a solid 3.

Service was a tad bit slow. We waited about thirty minuets for the food when no one was here and we weren’t given drink refills. Mimosas aren’t served until 11 am so we were very disappointed. The food was amazing and was gone in less than 10 minuets! Portions are generous and I was able to split a plate with a friends and still be full!

Mimis cafe is a New Orleans Jazz themed restraunt. They have an authentic Style of cooking with a variety of delicious meals. They have All Day Breakfast and lunch/dinner categories. Very clean restrooms. A room for private meetings. Great space. Professional staff. Jazz Themed Art. They have a bar, and seasonal beverages and food. In the photo from the top are: salmon Benedict, four Griddlecakes with scrambled eggs and pork sausage. The bottom photo is one of my favorites: Chicken Cheddar Mac.

Have been to Mimi's before in CA and TX. Was not high on my list to repeat ASAP. This one in Albuquerque on our road trip was convenient, close and WONDERFUL!! Our waitress, Kaylynn was very pleasant and helpful. The manager came to the table and hurried back with a little extra we asked for. My dinner, Rustic Chicken was DELICIOUS!

I requested to order takeout and was given a menu and directed to sit at bar. The manager ignored me the whole time. A waitress came out from the back and asked if I received service and I said no. She apologized and said the manager should have taken your order. The waitress was pleasant and kudos to her. The salmon was over cooked and dried out. Blah! I was turned off from this place. I traveled all day and just wanted to get a meal to take back to the hotel.

The food was good, but under seasoned, nothing special. The service was ok, my steak was under done and the manager did come to the table when they brought it back to make sure it was correct. The server did the bare minimum and had several awkward exchanges. I did leave standard 18% tip, but she barely earned it. She never asked if we wanted more hot water for our tea or what beverage my son wanted with his kids meal which includes a beverage so we had to ask for it at the end of the meal. Apparently when you ask for water you are not expected to want another beverage even though you are paying for it.

I tried to give Mimi's a second chance but they fell short again. The place was dead so we though we would get seated instantly but staff only walked by and did not say anything. After a long wait someone came up and seated us, no "sorry or have you been waiting long". All we got was a follow me. Sat down and were ignored. Finally got someone over who took our order and then they disappeared. After another long wait they brought our orders and then left again....The last time we were in they gave us bread but this time nothing. When we finished a girl came over and asked if we wanted refills and since we were done with our meal we asked for the check and quickly paid and left. The food: French dip- the sauce tasted old, really salty and the meat was tough and tasteless. The hamburger- tasteless, needed seasoning and the bread was old and hard. No love went into the food at all. It was just churned out. Would not recommend. 2 tries and a bad experience both times.No wonder why it was empty.

Wednesday morning, slow. Only one server working. I wasn't greeted within first minute of arrival. Exceptional drink service but after I placed my order-only cheese and fruit- I waited over 40 minutes. No coffee or water refills in that time. Other parties ordered meals and ate...still nothing for me. I feel like I wasn't valued as a guest. Would love to return and have better service...

Great service, great flavors. The muffins are from bakery heaven. Couldn't get enough. Options of a breakfast and lunch/dinner menu is great if you can't decide on an AM/PM meal. A portion of the restaurant feels like someone's home dining room and a small bar to the side. Reasonable prices overall and worth it the $$. Good-sized portions. A salad, mocha coffee, omelette and potatoes and muffins , and I was able to get through half of each by the time I got full. Relaxed atmosphere and didn't take very long for orders to come out. Perfect brunch spot.

These older-fashioned theme restaurants are a dying breed, offering casual dining, good food at the right price. Mimi's is big on Mimosas and offers brunch specials. Food was good, service was good although a bit slow. There was a large party of over 60 people and the kitchen was backed up, so food took longer than usual. But this is not the norm here. Food came out hot and correctly. I'm sure management knew the party of 60 was coming, they should have upped their wait staff and kitchen staff or at least warned us that there would be delays before they seated us.

Bread was soggy, and the cheese was just wadded up, on top of my 3/4 of an onion "soup". Don't waste your money on a $13 artichoke appetizer. The dip and crustinnis were unseasoned, probably bc the bread was pretoasted and old af. Muffins are quickly becoming the only edible thing there. Note their follow through in the picture

Took him forever to come get our drink order then after he finally dropped off the drinks taking forever to come back and get our order then he wouldn't come back so we could order mimosas. We asked for a bread basket took him forever to bring it then he finally brought our appetizer took him forever to bring our order then we didn't see him again until he was taking some dishes away after eating took forever to bring us our check what should have only taken an hour to an hour and a half tops took us two and a half hours! Ridiculous

Love Mimi's Cafe for its ambiance: the art, the music, the interior decorating. Visited on mother's day, there was no wait (which I guess is a good thing). But the food wasn't that good. Ordered the egg white veggie omelette. Took a while too come out. And it was dry, overcooked, had poor presentation. Maybe the head chef, if any, was not there. Service was ok. Friendly but not proactive. Had to ask for silverware, condiments, and refills on water. As if the wait staff was new and untrained. I think it's time for management to do quality control.

This place is okay at best, the owner is really rude he really doesn't make you feel welcomed. The food is okay my niece found a hair on her food and the coffee tasted burnt. A plus to this place is the staff (besides the owner) everyone is super nice and professional. And there baked goods are well priced and absolutely delicious. This place gets a three from me because of the amazing service from the staff. Other than that, I don't feel like this place is worth it.

I love great maple syrup on chicken and waffles so we went to our local restaurant. I was disappointed that they no longer have maple syrup so I ordered steak and eggs. It was served correctly with an exception of no toast so we ordered toast. Charged for toast and jelly. I didn’t know I was suppose to get jelly till I saw the bill. Little thing thing but annoying and the coffee was really boring, more like bad truck stop coffee. Short cuts lose customers. I’m now looking for a new place for great waffles and coffee!

Upon our first visit, the food and service were to die for. Then, as we repeatedly visited the Albuquerque restaurant, spending quality amounts of money on breakfast, lunch and dinner, and leaving healthy tips, the service decreased. The more we contributed, the worse we were treated. I will never eat here again.

We used Mimi’s Cafe for catering for our thanksgiving events. There were two events with major differences. The first event was a company luncheon and everything worked out splendid. The second event was for family and turned out pretty bad. The first event no confirmation call was given but everything was ready on arrival and came out perfectly. For the family event we received a call an hour before pickup time to confirm pickup and order. Upon arrival the food was not prepared, and no one exactly knew what was going on. It took about 45 minutes for the food to be prepared and ready and then there were several discrepancies. Our order consisted of baguettes which on the previous days order were soft and amazing. On the family order they were hard... hard as a rock. They had to be at least a day old. The second issue with the bread was that on the first order, the company order, we didn’t have to pay extra for the baguettes. On the family order we did, about $40 more. Which was pretty significant considering it was already a $150 catering order. The next issue was with the green bean casserole, while we ordered green bean casserole and were confirmed over the phone it would be green bean casserole what we received was a large try of just green beans. And it wasn’t more then a quarter full. When we brought this to their attention we were initially given an “oh well” what do you want us to do about it type line. Simple problem simple solution shouldn’t have happened though. On both days the food tasted great, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce were show stealers. Not worth the overall aggravation of standing in a restaurant for at least a hour in total with two children during thanksgiving.

Food was very slow coming out even though there were only three tables full when we got there at 9:30. Server kept our coffee filled with strong, great coffee while we waited. I was very happy with my selection, Santa Fe omelet with a berry muffin. The muffin was delicious; warm, stuffed with sweet berries with a tart, strawberry drizzle on top. Liked them so much, I ordered a 4 pack of muffins to go. Sister had less good experience. The stuffed French toast recipe changed since the last time we were there, to smaller portion with less cream cheese marmalade stuffing. There was barely a smear of stuffing which melted into the bread. You couldn't taste it & it doesn't match the photos. The stuffed French toast was the reason why we went to Mimi's. The manager made it a better experience by having the kitchen remake it & comped her order. That was very nice & changed my review from bad to average. Suggest you not schedule an appointment after breakfast & request the stuffed French toast be "stuffed" to where it oozes for the full taste!

Four stars because the food was excellent, but the service was somewhat lacking. I will still go there, it just seemed to be a fluke. Our table was seated, and then our waiter seemed to forget about us. No worries though. We were able to remedy the situation. They get pretty busy around brunch times, so keep that in mind. If you’re ok with a wait and a busier-than-normal waitstaff, it’s worth it!
