Now this business gets a score of 4.6 out of 5 and that rating was based on 1441 reviews.
You may have noticed that it has an average rating is almost the best one, and it's based on a very high number of scores, so we may think that the evaluation is very accurate. If people have bothered to leave their feddback when they are satisfied with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to write tatings when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Catering is classified in the category of Southern restaurant (US).
Delicious, delicious, delicious. Our party of two ordered a meat plate and two sides, and it was plenty to eat. My personal favorites are the pulled pork, collard greens, fried yucca, yams and fried plantains, but you really can't go wrong. Even something like iced tea is above and beyond good. Service is almost instant, which is helpful because they're busy!
Staff is very welcoming! Loved the option to eat inside or outside. Had the smothered pulled chicken with yellow rice-they let me leave off the beans so that was awesome. The poblano pepper cream sauce was insanely good. Check out this little place next time you're in town.
Great food! We went here on a date night and we were blown away with the place. They have separate menus for most dietary needs. Food was fresh, full of flavor, and great prices. Order ala carte or get a meal. Either way, you get a great amount for the price. Service was awesome as staff was knowledgeable and cared about your experience. Making this a regular spot for date night!
amazing chicken! 4/5 because I wish they had possibly more assortment of dry rub for the chicken and also wish they opened a bit earlier
Enjoyed a family style dinner and it was super fresh, hot, and tasty. Staff was great, service quick and efficient, and the atmosphere lively! Pleasantly surprised by the bar dessert... an actual chocolate bar!
One of the best bbq sandwiches I have ever had, plus their spicy vinegar is a treat all by itself, not the cheapest place around, but the food tastes like its far more expensive than it is anyway.
I couldn't place to place to eat good food
Good food cozy atmosphere.
Amazing food ! I love the pulled chicken sandwich ! Service is great too ☺
Fairly priced and delicious! Some of the best chicken I've had
A perfect and most delicious hole in the wall! Everyone in my group couldn’t have said enough about there meal. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to the city.
Great selection for family style sharing or solo eating.
I love the food, love the atmosphere! The food is excellent for those with food sensitivities. The indoor dining room is a little small, but once the outdoor patio opens seating is less of a challenge. Highly recommend!
Brasa is always amazing. We bring all of our out of town guests here. Lots of gluten free options. My faves are the greens and the cheesy grits!
This place is always good. Just wish they had a bigger building. The summer they nearly double their capacity with patio seating but in the winter the wait times are a lot longer. Collard greens are amazing.
It is great if you love meat. Often very busy. Every time I am over stuffed, which means the food is good :)
The chicken and pulled pork we're top shelf. Limited inside seating. Great outdoor space. Perfect if you are looking for something besides a burger that will stick to your ribs.
Great food. Reasonable wait even on Valentine's day!
Such amazing food and incredible service! Ruth was amazing!
Outstanding food, based on Creole cuisine. Just extremely good. Service was quick and pleasant. They also have a wonderful take-out menu. Try at least once. Wonderful selection!!!!
Great comfort food, quick service. One request for a second beer was not filled by our wait staffer but they comped the first beer due to a crack in our pint glass. Will return!
Love the gumbo. Staff members are awesome! Definitely would recommend this place.
Excellent high-quality food! Cute atmosphere but really it's all about the quality and taste of food. Absolutely incredible!
I'm so disappointed in myself for not being able to share photos that I didn't take of the mouth watering for we had here. And the waitress was super nice to us all night long! Would definitely recommend if looking for a good BBQ joint in MSP
The chicken was great atmosphere was comfortable employees very polite.
Food is so good, and taste so natural.
Expected better quality for the price. They have some work to do.
I'm always looking for new foods to try. I leave reviews when ever I get a chance. Brasa is one of those places. Different tastes. If you like different, but normal amazing really tasty food. Brasa is a must. Don't forget the collard greens.
Such a gem! I just love the clan eating options here. You can order a la carte from the menu or get a platter. The guacamole and chips are a must, so fresh! And I love the collard greens as well as the andioulle sausage squash side dish (it's so sweet from the squash but you get a nice slice from the bites of sausage). The meats are always succulent and tender but to me they're not the highlight of the menu.
Great food great atmosphere wonderful employees.
Brasa offers a very urban casual environment that meshed together a hint of excitement with a chic & modern interiors, exuding a aura of elegant coziness. The food was usually well prepared, evidently from scratch usually, but may vary at times. However, its relatively higher price makes it less attractive for me to dine here often, though I will most certainly be willing when the opportunity comes up. Recommend it!~
Delicious food every time
Great tasting food but very mildly defined as Creole food. It was more like Carribean style. Also not many options for Pescatarians.
While parking is tough. The food is worth the walk/hassles. Its all been quite tasty served by friendly staff. Friend plantains are amazing. But then so is pretty much everything else here. Chicken is my go-to but the pulled pork is really good too. My major problem is figuring out what to order.
I've been here two times now and enjoyed the food both times. Highly recommend the Pulled Chicken, Smoked Beef, and Slow Roasted Pork. There is a lot next to the restaurant which often fills up but there is good street parking nearby. This is definitely a good place to find some comfort food staples in Minneapolis.
The food is phenomenal. But the best part is how they cater to diets and restrictions. My best bet for when I do the Whole30. The only down side is the wait for a seat. Trust me, it's with the wait.
This was a great atmosphere, the food was delicious.
A wonderful addition from the Alma family. Combines an excellent southern flair with a hint of Latin influence. Excellent choices from the trough, the wine is simple and can be paired well with the menu. The collard greens and brown sugar yams are fantastic! All the meats are to die for and the family style service truly brings the comfort of home to an unfamiliar place.
Always great food. Great vibe, sharable portions, and good tap list!
Definately one if our favs! You can't beat the falovors, the richness , the freshness. Its amaz ing all at a pretty decent price. Especially live the pork w green sauce and roasted yams!! Anything is amazing here though! Can get busy but its worth it!
Really great food and service. I had the smoked beef plate with rice and peas: it was all very tasty. My companion’s chorizo and potato bowl was also amazing. Their beer selection, while not large, included some really fine stuff on tap.
We love Brasa. Excellent gluten free choices- doesn’t feel like I am I need of special treatment- just all around yummy.
Great service from the Togo guy!! Whoop whoop
Always live going here. Decent portion sizes and one of the best slow roasted pork and fried sweet plantains in town. Love their happy hour where you could get a pint of beer and 2 tacos. What a deal! Tried their sangria on happy hour too and it was bomb.
Wonderful little restaurant with outdoor seating and delicious food.
Very fun atmosphere with meats done very well! Will happily go back.
Visiting for the Final Four...Go Red Raiders!!! Found this place based on the reviews and would definitely recommend. Friendly, knowledgeable staff helped us choose multiple items to share. Cornbread is delicious. Meats were tender and had good flavor. Get extra red sauce, you won't be disappointed.
Great food. Friendly staff.
real tasty, I visited brasa on a busy lunch and got a table for one. looking at the menu it has quite a few vegeterian choices despite specializing in meat, the service was quick waiter awesome and the old garage window with all the sunlight is cool, excellent spot
I really liked the food here, it was unique and very good and would go back. I had the pulled pork sandwich with chips and asked for a side of their house made buffalo sauce (do it). Just what I needed before a night of drinks!
Staff is very welcoming! Loved the option to eat inside or outside. Had the smothered pulled chicken with yellow rice-they let me leave off the beans so that was awesome. The poblano pepper cream sauce was insanely good. Check out this little place next time you're in town.
A little pricey, but worth it! The food is always high quality. It’s simple food done right. I always recommend this place. Both the mpls and Saint Paul locations are consistently good.
I enjoyed the $10 happy hour combo(beer, beans, rice, choice of 2 tacos). My taco had at least 20 shrimp on it, which felt like winning a mini jackpot since some other places give you a pitiful amount. The sides of rice and beans /w brisket was also delicious, which was an improvement because last time i came here my beans and brisket were so oversalted that my dog wouldn't eat them when I got home (im sure that was an accident). They have some mild hot sauces available on tables, but they don't have any super spicy options or condiments like you might expect at a place offering south american food. Would be cool if they carried a habenero or ghost pepper sauce
It's a small place. You can eat outside on good days which is nice. There seems to be way more staff than customers sometimes but they are unobtrusive and don't get annoying. The food is very good. I am fussy with food so there are some thing I really didn't like, but the ones I did were delicious. The main critiscism i have, (and the reason for being one star short), is the fact there was no ice served with the water. Lukewarm almost tepid water is not a good start to a meal. Get bigger cups, and a good ice maker so all water can be served with ice and another star will be earned.
We really like the food the yuca was very good same for the chicken
You can count on the food being very good here. Never have been disappointed.
Great food, great service at a fair price
Hands down, one of my all time faves in the Twin Cities. Their meats, side options and actually... come to think of it, everything on the menu is delicious. It’s also one place we often bring our family and friends, who are visiting from out of town, and they’ve all complimented it too. Try their green and red sauces, especially with the rotisserie chicken.
We went (party of 7) after a Valentine Day Wedding at the courthouse. The aromas when you drive up are amazing. Cute, small cozy cafe. Great staff, friendly service. We had roasted chicken, roasted pork, roasted beef All made from scratch...good sized portions. Kids menus were a plus. Will be back.
Brasa is delicious. Collard greens, cornbread, pulled chicken, catfish and yucca are favorites.
The food is excellent. I had the Pork & Over Easy Bowl, I would highly recommend it. Also the Cafe con Leche is very good.
You CANNOT go wrong with the pulled pork sandwich! All of the sides we're amazing. It is a rotisserie, but there are vegetarian options that are AMAZING! the fried plantains, mashed yams, and house coleslaw were delicious!
Found something vegan, got a stomach ache afterwards.
One of our favorite places! Food is consistently delicious, service is outstanding, and staff is welcoming and friendly! Love it!!!!
Great Rotisserie chicken and the sweet plantains are delicious! Collard greens could use some salt/vinegar but the texture is there. For $2 more you can keep your pint glass
Staff is very welcoming! Loved the option to eat inside or outside. Had the smothered pulled chicken with yellow rice-they let me leave off the beans so that was awesome. The poblano pepper cream sauce was insanely good. Check out this little place next time you're in town.
A trip to Brasa is always the same in a good way. The staff is friendly, the wait is minimal, the food comes quickly and it's never bad, and the price is reasonable. It's not fancy, the presentation will not win awards, but it's solid. Recommended.
It takes quite a bit of time to grab waiter's attention and order food, but once ordered the food comes pretty quick. Great choices with a lot of side dishes.
The price is a little high but the quality & taste is amazing. I wish they have more things in their menu.
Really high quality food at a not-unreasonable price, though the plate meals come with just the one side and the sandwiches come with tortilla chips and no dip unless you get it extra, so expect to pay a little extra for a "full" meal. Though if you opt not to you'll still get plenty to eat. Cool atmosphere and friendly staff, will definitely be visiting again.
Absolutely wonderful food. Can't go wrong with anything you decide to Order.
Very solid, made fresh in house food.
The best meal I've had all year
In my top 5 of NE eateries. Probably #1 or #2. Seems like everything is super homemade. Is that possible? Somebody here knows how to cook like how your grandma knew how to bake...or how my grandma baked anyway. Just get one of everything and double it so you can take it home for leftovers. And THE best red Sangria. Wait, is this my third glass? No it isn't. Yes, yes it is.
The food was really good and tha atmosphere was perfect for a nice day out. The workers were knowledgeable and kind as well.
Simple perfection achieved once again!
Always the best. Whole family loves it, almost everything is gluten free, and every single thing is delicious.
The food is REALLY good!! I've tried a couple things on the menu and all of it was good.
Soul food in a nice and cozy spot. There isn’t much space and it always feels packed.
Place that makes you come back again and again because of the tasty food
Best rotisserie in the cities!! The food is amazing and the garage style atmosphere is perfect for anyone. Try the red beans and rice! The sauce is delish!
One of my fav restaurants!! Always amazing food. Highly recommend! I always get the pulled pork with the green sauce on the side I like everything on the whole menu
The seating was pretty limited and cramped when we went in, but the service was great! The food was good, but we didn’t think it quite lived up to the hype. The reason I gave this place a 3 star review was because we felt the bill was way too expensive for what you get. It was too high in price for the food/experience we received. I’m glad we checked it out, but we probably won’t be back due to that.
Exceptionally simple, delicious and affordable!
Wow, fantastic Creole food. Local owners and spectacular service. Don't let the outside appearance scare you away; the food is phenomenal!
Small dining space. Kinda fun if you don't get stuck next to a loud mouth that cannot modulate the volume of his voice? Had the gumbo; it was decent but nothing to brag about. Plenty of shrimp, had to search for the sausage and eggs? They serve Mexican Coke in a bottle and domestic Diet Coke in a can. The gumbo has a bit of heat and having to ration the Coca Cola while eating; not a fan. I have not tried the market price smoked meats. Perhaps that is the gem of this restaurant? Took a bit to get beverages delivered to the table, food was presented very quick after ordering, and the wait staff were all pleasant.
So really good food. Never been to this location before. A little disappointed that they dont have the home made sodas or the mac and cheese my kids love. But still good food.
Very good service, clean place, nice, laid back atmosphere. Diverse crowd of customers. The pineapple ginger ale is a must try even if you don't like ginger. Im not a fan of ginger but this fusion was very good and did not disappoint at all. I enjoyed the slow cooked beef and potato salad. I just wish it had had a little more salt or taste to beef without the sauce. Loved the potato salad texture and consistency of potatoes, again just needed a little more flavor to hold the title of caribbean, creole food. My husband ordered the masa corn cake meal, I liked the bread, cheese and sweet potato, I didn't taste it with the pickled onions. The yellow rice tasted like a box mix and the red beans like refried beans. I'm from the south so I may be a little spoiled in the food department. But I'd go back and eat there. It's worth the money.
Very good and delicious food! We loved it here, a little bit on the pricey side so we can’t eat there every day like we want but definitely worth a visit here and there. My favorites are the smothered pulled chicken and red beans with rice! YUM!
Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Small portions for price, but food is fresh, flavorful with pleasant plating. Greens & grits were fire! Rotisserie Chicken with green sauce was so tender. Great outdoor seating. Parking lot is really small but there is street parking.
Great service every time
Great food. Fast service
All the meat is delicious!
I love everything about this place. The food is delicious, the drink selection is great for a small place and the atmosphere is calm, fun, familial and intimate all in one.
One of the best spots in Minneapolis! Delicious food, friendly staff. It is a great restaurant that prides itself on quality produce and service.
Excellent food and friendly service.
The food was great, but our service was terrible. Our waiter took so long for everything, from taking our order to getting our dessert, and everything in between. When he finally made it to our table, we had to stare at his underwear. I am ok with not having a uniform at work, but I’m not ok with my server’s pants sagging so much, his whole butt is out. Again, I will say, the food was great!
Service and food is delicioso! I would get 5 stars but a lot of time there's a wait which obviously is a good reflection on the restaurant but it just sucks when you want to be spontaneous and go get really good food at Brasa
love the chicken legs, vegetable yellow rice and beans
I love you Brasa and your sweet potato heaven.
One of my favorite places to eat! Everything that I've tried off the menu has been delicious. My bill adds up quickly because I always want more than one side. That's my only dislike. Please note that the St. Paul location has a better and bigger menu selection.
Not as good as it used to be. No table service on the patio, expensive for what it is.
Gun to my head, it’s between here and revival for my favorite casual restaurants. Absolutely love everything about Brasa. I get every meat when I go because I can’t pick one over the others. Their homemade vinegar sauce is where it’s at. I soak everything in it. Also, try the butterscotch pudding. It’s frickin amazing
Great food and friendly service, well worth the wait.
Great rotissiere chicken place, with lovely patio seating, complete with outdoor bean bag toss. House-made sangria was refreshing and delightful. Thick tortilla chips and guac were tasty, and pulled chicken sandwich was a great blend of chicken, BBQ and slaw. Highly recommend! Family loved this place.
Food was delicious (per usual) and the service was great! I was with a group of five, which is an awkward number to seat at this location, but they made it work like it was no big deal. For food I ordered the slow roasted pork plate with black beans and yellow rice. A classic that can never go wrong ... especially with an order of the green sauce! I also l, along with most at my table, ordered a side corn bread. So sweet and the honey butter is to die for! Love, love, love! Can't wait for patio season to enjoy these good eats outdoors.
Excellent food! You can tell they use fresh ingredients and cook from scratch. Very satisfying!
Some of the best food per dollar spent in the Twin Cities!
Great southern comfort food. The pork and over easy eggs bowl is a must! Curry chicken is a close second.
Great food, service and atmosphere
Delicious food, friendly staff and patrons.
Brasa is just always good. It’s one of my favorite spots in the Twin Cities for a casual date night or just a solid dinner with friends. Really the biggest downside is that the space is pretty cozy and they don’t take reservations, so getting a table around dinnertime often means waiting around for a little bit. This is especially true in the winter when the patio seating is unavailable. But the coziness is part of this spot’s charm. With that said, Brasa is worth the wait! The food is always fantastic and the ability to order small plates a la carte makes it a great place to try a bunch of new things with friends. My personal recommendations are the pulled chicken with pepper gravy, the brown sugar candied yams, and some sweet corn cornbread, but you really can’t go wrong whatever you try. The happy hour is definitely worth checking out as well, with both food and drink specials available. For beer, they have a small rotating tap list, usually high quality stuff, and wine and sangria are also available.
Great food, awesome staff.
Great slow cooked meats in a laid back atmosphere. The patio seating in the summer is really nice.
The food was pretty disappointing, seating cramped, and our service was abysmal. She spent more time chatting with fellow servers by the computer rather then helping us.
Foods amazing and there's nice staff as well
Best soul food in the Twin Cities! Everything on the menu is great and the staff was wonderful as well.
With an extensive menu of quality southern cooking made from fresh, local ingredients, Brasa is one of my favorite restaurants to visit in the Twin Cities for food to warm the body and soul. I particularly enjoy coming here with groups of people, allowing us to order a variety of dishes and share them. There is nothing on this menu that I would not recommend. I generally do not eat meat, but this is one of few circumstances where I regularly deviate. All of the food is expertly prepared, and I trust and am ethically comfortable with the sourcing of the ingredients. If you have not been to Brasa yet, I would recommend a visit with a group of friends and/or family.
Amazing chicken, greens and rice! It was so good if we weren't in a hurry and on a budget I would've ordered more. They serve family style and the rest of the menu seemed a la carte. Staff is casual, knowledgeable and friendly. Can't wait to go back
Really good food. Interesting atmosphere. The only thing I didn't like was fresh cilantro in my rice and peas (yellow rice). But that's my personal dislike for cilantro. Otherwise the food was amazing, my fiance really enjoyed it as well. He even asked if we could go again.
I love Brasa! Honestly have never had a bad experience. Even when they're getting slammed at dinner time you can tell they really work together well. They are very "all hands on deck", the food quality never suffers, and the wait is always shorter than expected. I've celebrated special occasions here, had chill nights with the girls, and come for lunch when hangovers are in full swing. Love this spot!
Love the place. Great food and atmosphere!
I had the rotisserie chicken with rice & beans and a side of fried plantains. The food was of good quality. For the chicken, spices were well mixed and the meat was tender. The rice and beans were fairly standard, but were pleasing. The fried plantains were well done, nice caramelization on all pieces. The price was a bit hefty. I paid $20 here for something I could get back home at local Peruvian chicken establishments for $6 less (30% less) with larger portions. All in all a good experience with a larger price tag.
Great food, great service and great space.
small portion size doesn't justify the prices on the menu. good food but over the top prices.
Pros-Place was cool and hip, good service. Con-Seemed overpriced for what we got, food was overall whaaa whaaaaa, not enough seasoning, or amounts. I’ve made Better pulled pork at home. Would have been happier with a chipotle burrito.
The food was wonderful and the waitress was helpful and gave great recommendations! Come eat here you will not be disappointed. The food came out so fast it made my head spin!
The food tasted good, but didn't really stand out to me. The service was very fast however. Slightly overpriced for what you get.
The rotisserie chicken and pepper vinegar sauce is ridiculously good. You can't go wrong. As a GA transplant it's the best/ authentic sweet tea around
Delicious pulled chicken! I went with the pulled chicken sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The building is roomy, taking into account the small size. They have a patio and south-facing garage doors that (I presume) are open on more optimal summer days. When open, they allow the interior seating to feel even more open. I would recommend eating here, and plan to frequent when in the neighborhood.
Best chicken in town! I used to order sides but now I just go straight for the 4-piece rotisserie chicken instead. Seating gets kinda tight in the winter with the patio closed, but the food is always worth the wait.
Amazing food, great service, and they had our dinner served just minutes after we ordered it. Can't wait to go back!
Food the best food in town!
This place is close to my office, highly recommended if you are looking for healthy lunch options. fried yuca and a cold beer are the perfect match for this. its a must!
The service was fast and friendly. We came during the lunch rush on a Friday and were able to be seated immediately. It’s a smaller space and it was busy. The “garage doors” open during the summer and give more outdoor seating. They also have a cozy fire pit to hang around outside. The food was delicious. The fried plantains were well made and tasted great. The chicken has amazing flavor and sauces pair very nicely. The grits were very good. It is a bit spendy for the portion size.
Super quick service even for take out. Delicious food even for vegetarians and awesome service!
Quick, efficient, good food and a freaking great patio.
A must visit if you on town. Love this place! We need one in Wisconsin!
Repeat customer here: great food, cool hipster vibe, & not wasteful excessive portions. I leave full, yet not sending food to the garbage. Bravo, Brasa!
The rotisserie chicken is awesome, our meal was great. Loved it, would definitely recommend.
Great food, good service but no full bar. My food was delicious. I would have liked to top it off with a bourbon. Overall well worth the trip.
Not sure I would say it's southern food but the food was very tasty. Service was good too!
Great food with a great selection of tastes. Good food and good people is pretty much their atmosphere
Atmosphere, Food, Price. All great.
Staff is very welcoming! Loved the option to eat inside or outside. Had the smothered pulled chicken with yellow rice-they let me leave off the beans so that was awesome. The poblano pepper cream sauce was insanely good. Check out this little place next time you're in town.
Incredible food and decent prices. We tried the chorizo potato chilaquiles bowl and the smoked beef plate. The bowl was spicy with an incredible mix of flavors, and the smoked beef was extremely tender with a delicious sweet barbecue sauce. The space is completely unassuming with a large patio and a friendly/quick service. This place is definitely worth a stop the next time you are in Northeast Minneapolis!
Awesome food and staff.
Went for lunch on Mother's Day. I will not be going back. The chicken was dry, the beans had no flavor, the rice was hard, and the whole meal was cold. Definitely waste of time and money. One star is being generous.
I live way too close to this place for comfort, I really will need a gym membership soon. Everything on the menu is amazing, and whatever is in the gravy must be magic. Word of warning, take out is usually 45 minutes so plan accordingly. Otherwise the service is friendly and their patio can’t be beat.
Great chicken and great service.
Excellent food and service. We ordered the pulled chicken sandwich and guacamole & chips. The sandwich was a very large portion. Bread was fresh, chicken was juicy. The guac had great flavor. We eat here frequently.
Friendly service. Fairly priced
Very tasty original food
Amazing meat and sides. And some of the best guacamole I've ever had. Though this location is small, its worth the wait!
I have trouble giving a 5 but this is good and lots of gluten free
Friendly service and although they are celebrated for their chicken, I think their pulled pork wins. I really appreciate how our server made us feel welcome and un-rushed even though we had just come in after another dinner and split an entree. The sides look good as well! The restaurant utilizes their indoor space well, for a small place it looks as though they offer a good amount of seating. Prepare for a wait though during busy times!
The chicken was a little dry, my wife's 2 piece was one piece cut in half. The sides are good tho. And the service was really good.
I was visiting for work and was taken here for lunch. Since it was late summer the outside seating was perfect. The staff was very nice and very good. I enjoyed the lunch and would recommend. I think locals will have even better reviews.
