Went in for a simple oil change. In the process they nicked the O-ring. Next day, oil all over the driveway. Took it back in, they fixed, but did not admit fault (although the logic is simple, I didn't have the problem before I took my car into them). No discussion of compensation for the time, trouble, oil-stained driveway.Behind that friendly, family-style service is a slice of incompetence and severe lack of customer service. There are plenty of facilities around, you could be taking a chance by going here. [After this was read by the owner of Buckley auto and the matter was brought to his attention, he contacted me personally by phone and made financial compensation for the damages done to property and the time involved. This was the professional thing to do and whether I ever go back or not, this appears to be a company that will attempt to make things right and understands that it lives by its reputation.]

Hope you have some knowledge about mechanics. Anthony tried selling me on a bunch of pricey options before fixing my actual issue. I had to push back on fixes they wanted to do that weren't causing me any problems. Quoted me 4x+ actual parts costs. When I got my ride back I had issues that they messed with that were not anything that should have been touched that and still dealing with.

buckey's took my car and gave me an evaluation after I came in to find out how much it would be. They quoted me $1150. said I needed everything done. I took my car to elmsmere to 2 machanics in a little shope. He told me to get the parts and charged me $80 dollars the parts cost me $60 dollars. Far cry from $1150.00 dollars. WHAT A THIEF.!!!!buckley's IS. DONT GO TO BUCKLEYS This happened 5 months ago.

This place is fantastic. My wife and I were on our way to Florida when our tire pressure light came on. We were going through Newport, DE and searched for a service station-- Buckley's was the top rated, and for good reason! Everyone here is extremely knowledgable, friendly, and professional. They had our tire replaced quickly, and they even ran tests to make sure everything was working properly. I would absolutely go here again.

Charged me 200$ to look at my car and didn't actually diagnose the problems. They literally gave me an estimate on what it MIGHT cost AFTER i payed them 200$.. My van also had a transmission leak they somehow didn't find.... After 200$ to have them diagnose problems... Horrible...

I moved from TX to PA almost 4 years ago and had some issues with my 2008 Tahoe. I took my Tahoe to 3 different local Chevy dealership and 1 other mechanics for routine maintenance oil change and preventive services. My car was fixed but customer service was not there. I took my car to Buckley's and I can tell everyone customer service is their number ONE priority. My car is running just perfect.

Got an oil change..& coolant flush & fill. Didn't take long at all & the guy was very knowledgeable about my car..& that it needed particular mopar care..which is different from most cars. Cost a little more.. but ya gotta do what ya gotta do! Had problems with the engine temperature overheating after I left. Pulled over & called Buckleys up & told them I was overheating & Steve came right away 2 fix the problem. He told me I had air bubbles in the block that wouldn't let my thermostat open which was why I was overheating. He's working on it as I'm writing this. Really Good guy !..& .he's going 2 fix this I'm sure. Not worried..he's got this! A delay in my day...but it's all good!

In April, a drivetrain malfunction asserted in my BMW. The code soon cleared, but I needed an oil change & decided to find a mechanic. Buckley’s had good reviews, so I went in, described the situation & informed them about the now-cleared code. I told them to proceed with the oil change & if they were able to identify the drivetrain malfunction to let me know, otherwise not to worry about the code. The next day, they called & said the oil change was done & they had diagnosed the drivetrain malfunction as a wastegate actuator deviation. When I came in, they gave me a $398 bill. I ask how I was getting charged so much for an oil change, & the rep stated $197 was for a “Level 2 system analysis” with another $191 of charges in parts. The parts, he said, were part of a standard kit w/an Oil Filter ($32), a Cabin Air Filter ($67), & an Air Filter ($45). He said it was normal to do these with an oil change. Also, I stated I was unfamiliar with a “waste gate actuator”, so the rep condescendingly described a turbo wastegate. The recommendation was a wastegate actuator replacement & a computer relearn & the cost would be around $900 (on top of the $398). I told them I would take their advice under consideration. Reluctantly, I paid the $398. I am active duty military & the next week I left on a 3 month temporary assignment. After returning in July, the car’s code reasserted & it went into limp mode. I decided to take Buckley’s advice. I let the rep (Scott) know I’d like the wastegate actuator replaced per their recommendation. I dropped the car off. A few days later, Scott stated they had done the replacement, but it hadn’t fixed the problem. He said the car would now need a full turbo replacement, but there was good news, the work they just performed only cost me around $750 ($526 for labor), not $900. He said they would’ve had to do the wastegate actuator anyway with a complete turbo replacement, so really I’m not out much money. Perplexed, I told him not to replace the turbo; I’d pick the car up & consider my options. Back at the shop, I ask a different Buckley’s rep (Anthony, he was a really nice guy actually) what the cost of the turbo would be. He said he’d take my email address & get back to me. Reluctantly again, I paid $748. I didn’t hear anything from Buckley’s over the next week, so I called, again requesting the estimate. They said they’d email it right over, but I received no correspondence. Busy with work, I gave it another few weeks & called again at the end of July. The rep (Anthony) stated he’d email the estimate (and yes I checked my junk folder). Again, nothing. I thought about calling & complaining, but since I’d been ignored 3 times already, I decided to take my business elsewhere. To clarify, I’d basically given them $1147.03 for an oil change since nothing was fixed. Finally, on 6 August, Scott emailed me, apologized for the delay and said their estimate for the cost of the turbo replacement (parts+labor) was around $2300. At this point, I cut my losses and contacted another BMW mechanic. I described the situation to the new mechanic & ask his estimate for a turbo replacement. $1500 for a complete turbocharger replacement (BMW parts plus labor). I also ask his thoughts on Buckley’s initial recommendation to replace the wastegate actuator. He said it was peculiar, but since it was only a “$150 fix” maybe it would’ve been worth a shot. I told him what Buckley’s charged me ($750) & he was stunned…his quote was, “I wish I could charge those prices.” Either way, the new mechanic was honest, he replaced the turbo for $1500 & now the car is running fine. Overall, I gave this business $1147.03 for an oil change (which I requested), an air filter & Cabin Air Filter (didn’t request), a level 2 system analysis (didn’t request), & a wastegate actuator replacement (that didn’t fix anything). Bottom line, I do not recommend Buckley’s Auto Care. I can’t do anything about the money I’ve given them, but hopefully this review will save someone else some time and hard-earned money.

Greg and Anthony were knowledgeable and friendly and made sure I didn't leave driving a car that was unsafe (trust me I tried :p) They worked with us on pricing and don't seem to upcharge and inflate. While waiting I witmwitne their above and beyond customer service for others too, driving to pick up stuck customers, driving to mulitmul places to procure parts...etc. Everything a car shop should be. I'll never go back to pep boys.

They not only took the time to carefully review issues with my car, but also took the time to ask what future plans for the vehicle were, etc. I almost had to pinch myself as I have not seen this level of customer service and enthusiasm in a very long time in any industry. Buckley's is an honest, expert repair shop. I took my Kia Forte there for 75k maintenance, and my wife took her Nissan Versa there for an exhaust system repair and 60k maintenance, and we felt good about both our experiences with Buckley's. Car work isn't cheap, but we were really satisfied that Buckley's knew their stuff, got work done quickly, and charged a fair price for everything they did.

After going through other customer reviews, it became clear other customers had similar issues. The staff was kind, but they charge a premium for an initial consult. The facility charged me $228 for an inspection and was unable to resolve my electrical issues on my European vehicle (Volvo) or begin to diagnose an issue. After having read previous reviews, I decided not to continue repairs. My car was functional but had a sudden surge of major electrical issues that made the car seem unsafe to drive. Complained the PCM might be failing as the dash/electric is malfunctioning. Their “level two” inspection was 1.7 hours and cost over $200. Was informed that PCM/CEM were functional, and additional testing would be required. Unclear based on the notes that anything further than a general digital inspection (and perhaps some other surface level checks) were performed. The kicker? The attendant sounded confident the issue was the CEM, but when I informed him I didn’t want to continue the inspection, I was informed the issue could “really be anything”. I definitely wasted my money because I believed they would perform a thorough inspection. A full inspection would have cost me additional dollars, and it didn’t sound like they had even begun to test the actual issue. I feel a bit slighted having paid so much to not have anything resolved. However it is my fault for having brought a drivable vehicle in for repairs. A generic warning: If the car can safely drive, don’t send it here. They can only diagnose issues that are immediately obvious. A serious inspection will likely cost a lot, over several different inspections. If you believe your car is no longer safe to drive and you are unsure what the issue is, it would be cheaper to invest in a different vehicle.

I took my car in to have the clutch looked at for replacement, and asked them to look at the belt because It was squealing. They proceeded to do a full chassis inspection entirely unrelated to what I asked for, they found problems with the struts and tried to sell me 1000 dollars worth of work. Then they quoted me a price on all new belts, which were already recently replaced. So after spending two hundred dollars on work I didn't ask for, I still have a bad clutch and my belt still squeals. This isn't a place I would ever trust to have my car at again.

I had a wonderful experience at Buckley's Auto this week. I felt welcomed and they made sure I understood everything. I went in for an oil change and I am use to getting hit with a long list of quotes for other things wrong with my car. This is not their method at all! They do a thorough check of your vehicle and the mechanic takes photos and even videos of anything going on with your car. Then they explain it all to you. I felt that the mechanic was extremely knowledgeable and I could trust his opinion. There was no pressure to have anything done and no lengthy expensive quote to scare me into doing additional work. I really appreciate their approach and plan to return.

I scheduled a pre-purchase inspection of a dealer-owned 2008 MB E350 remotely because I live out of state. Buckley's thoroughly inspected the vehicle and provided a detailed inspection report including color pictures and notes. Following the inspection, I was able to speak with the mechanic that conducted the inspection and receive details on the findings and the general opinion of the vehicle. These findings have held up to be true as I purchased the vehicle without any surprises two weeks ago. Buckley's also accepts payment by PayPal which is very convenient for non-local transactions.

Buckley's offer excellent service at the expense of outrageous charges on parts. They buy parts from NAPA and their mark-up on parts is at least 140%. For example, if NAPA sells it for $250, Buckley's will charge to you $600. Mark-ups are probably very common in auto service, but I felt what Buckley's is charging is outrageous. Go to Buckley's if you don’t care about money in your wallet. On the other hand, if you would to have an excellent service and don’t care for how much your pay for the service, then Buckley's is the place. Praveen

Second time using them for a major Honda repair, I really love these guys. Positives: friendly, knowageable, not pushy. They gave me three estimates on what I wanted done, call it good, better and best. Then no haggling with whatever i chose. In today's world keeping your car running right = running longer and that means more years without a car payment. I'm a repeat customer and will continue to use them.

Great service and fast repair , had to tow my 1988 C4 corvette to buckley's Becuse my serpentine Belt broke and with it broke the mass airflow sensor cable . the car was ready in a few hours . you also get a full online report about your car condition with pictures and full details about problems you did not know you had .... Used Car Inspection: I was considering buying a used Lexus ES350 from a private seller, contingent on it passing a pre-purchase inspection. He wasn't comfortable using my regular mechanic, so we agreed to meet at Buckley's for a neutral opinion. Anthony helped me out with the service on 8/15/19, and after it's completion told me straight up to run as fast as I could away from the car. I ended up taking his advice and passing on the car, and the gentleman sold it to someone else about an hour later. Today I showed my mechanic the very detailed report that Buckley's provided me and she informed me that had purchased the car, I would have been looking at around $3000 (!!!) worth of necessary repairs. All I can say is I feel really bad for whoever ended up buying the car, and very thankful to have chosen Buckley's

We have been Buckley's patrons for 40+ years and have known only quality work, courtesy and reliable service from them. Greg and Steve know the business like no one else. Their staff, Ryan, Tony, Steven and Anthony, up front, are first rate, bar none! Pros Does excellent work, explains what needs to be done on my car, and love the digital video showing what is damaged or needs repair. Cons Even though they did a great job repairing my brakes. They are very very expensive I was told that I needed front and rear brakes I could only afford to have the front brakes done. What they charge me for front brakes I could have gotten both front and rear for less than what they charge me for front brakes.

I have mixed reviews for this place. But to sum it up, The mechanic was honest and knowledgeable but they didnt find the actual problem of my car. The owners son also lied to me about why my car was left unlocked for (who knows) how long. They also charge obnoxious amounts for simple jobs. I saved myself $1700 by doing a timing chain myself.

Good experience. Buckley's repaired my A/C after I tried recharging it myself and messed it all up. They did a great job explaining the problem, cause, and solution in an easy to understand way.
