Because I am in a wheelchair and unable to drive, I called Kallis to find out if they sold Valentine’s Day gift certificates. My husband loves meat so much, it’s practically his favorite thing. So, I called & started to ask if I could pay over the phone and then my husband could come in and buy whatever he wanted, but, before I could finish, the woman hung up on me. She just hung up! I called back and asked if she was going to hang up on me again and she said "Maybe!" and did. It's hard not being able to walk or drive, but people are normally very nice. It makes you wonder about everything else in that place. If your “front” person is so mean, what else is short-cut, old, not prepared right, etc.? I’ll go elsewhere for my Hubby, he’s worth so much more than that.

Most consistent meat market in Port Charlotte FL. Rib eye steaks are as good as you can find. Brats are great, not too spicy. One thing we had to get used to. They put your items in a bin with a name on it (like bunny rabbit etc) and then say bunny rabbit and take it to the check out area. Then when you get up to the check out you ask for bunny rabbit and they take your bin and ring it up. Also be sure to look to your left as you enter and take a number if it's busy. You will love their meat products guaranteed.

Dieser Metzger verkauft nicht nur Wurst und Fleisch, sondern auch deutsche Konserven, Gläser, Tütenware usw. Speziell für Auswanderer oder deutsche Snowbirds ist das dann wohl nach längerem Entzug der "typisch deutschen Kost" eine kleine Wohltat. Das Geschäft erinnert mich an einen Tante Emma Laden. Sehr sauber, gut sortiert, preislich etwas höher, aber sicherlich angemessen. Mich haben zumindest Geschmack und Qualität überzeugt. Wer jetzt erwartet, hier von Deutschen bedient zu werden um einen kleinen Schnack zu halten, der wird etwas enttäuscht sein, denn meistens stehen Amerikaner hinter der Theke. Hier gehen aber nicht nur Deutsche einkaufen, auch viele Amerikaner wissen eine gute Wurst zu schätzen.

Best place to buy meat in the area. Great customer service. German breads are excellent as well as the hams and smoked roast beef. Tbone steaks are awesome and super ground beef. Make sure you grab your number ticket or the BossyButcher will get you.

I LOVE this butcher and deli I am so happy we found it... and it is now my favorite meat shop :) The meat is truly fresh, clean and healthy tasting. The prices are better than walmart. I have found out all about GMO and every piece of meat you buy in a grocery store, especially walmart, are full of Genetically Modified Organisms, hormones, antibiotics and believe it or not, they treat it with a toxic gas and ammonia to make it look fresh, even when it's NOT, feed that to your loved ones? Nope! Every package are NOT packaged, ground or chopped in the back of the store as you may think, it comes from all over the country from franken farms and is packaged at a warehouse... it's all mixed together, so if you get sick, or your child gets sick you won't even know where it came from. Yuck. Did you know that every ground meat package you buy at any grocery store, has pink slime in it and they label it "100% ground beef", or ground pork? Kallis told me their animals are grass-fed and they never get any fillers, hormones, antibiotics, or GMO feed. They are not raised in feedlots, but on a real farm. That made me so happy. You can REALLY tell the difference in freshness, texture and taste.Thank you Kallis, for providing our community with Delicious Healthy cuts from healthy happy animals. I also got some canadian bacon, OH MY GOSH Food-Gasm, lol just as the meat, so clean and wonderful, your mouth is HAPPY :) You know you are eating high quality meats and cold cuts, when you get it at Kallis German Butcher <3

I purchased a sirloin steak from this butcher and it had a piece of metal in it, which was not visible to the naked eye. I have gone in and I have left several messages for the Manager and the owner on Friday 5/21 last week. Today is Wednesday and no call back at all. I cannot believe the service of this local butcher not wanting to address this severe problem. What if I would have eaten that metal?

Just went there tonight for the first time, sorry we waited so long to try it. The staff is extremely helpful and very friendly. They have an incredible selection of meats, all kinds to choose from luncheon meats, chicken, steaks you name it. A lot of it is made right there on premises. I just found my new Meat Market I won't buy meat anywhere else when I'm in this area. They have homemade sausages with no additives or preservatives and other meats.

My parents live in Port Charlotte, so when I visit once a month from Tampa, we stop at Kallis. I have to say every meat we get through here is AMAZING. I just had the NY strips last week, the meat was the most wonderful steak I have ever eaten. Just made the baby back ribs today, and they were so succulent. I strongly suggest this butcher shop, you won't be disappointed.

If you're looking for German deli in the Port Charlotte area, this is the place to go! The selection of "wurst" is excellent: Bratwurst, Weisswurst, Bauernwurst, Knackwurst, Blutwurst, Frankfurters, and on and on. The downside is that it's hard to choose! There's also an excellent selection of cold cuts as well as the standard butcher store staples: ground beef, roasts, chops, chicken, sausage, etc. The service has always been very friendly and accommodating ... want that wrapped for the freezer? No problem! Sliced extra thin ... sure! Not sure if you'd like something? You can often get a sample. There's also a selection of european style grocery items available, along with a small wine/beer selection. If you want a specific European wine or beer, you'll probably have to go to a specialist. But unless you're very picky, you should be able to find something you'll like. During the "high season", expect to wait in line for your number to be called ... the line often wraps around the store aisles. Once you've been here, you'll say: "Das schmeckt!"

This place is great. If you want the BEST ground beef for hamburgers or any other dish, come here. The price is comparable to basic grocery stores but the quality is far superior. We get so many compliments on our cook outs with friends. We highly recommend Kallis for all their meat and products

Simple Friend

This is the best meat in the entire area. Their baked goods are also excellent. Try their pretzels! They were the best I ever had. The entire place was very clean and smelled very clean. The meat has great color and flavor and is always tender no matter how you cook it. I've been to a lot of places around the entire state, and this is absolutely the best meat I've ever had. More people should come here if they appreciate high quality meats. Not only that, but the prices are really low for the quality you're getting.

Very unaccommodating. I ended up speaking to a mgr- she was rude and told me I had an attitude for complaining and that if I went elsewhere I would be back. Was also told (as she surveyed all the people in the store today) that if I didn't come back it wouldn't matter.Talk about being cocky! Apparently from other reviews, everything is good, but make a legitimate complaint and YOU are the one who has an attitude and problem, not them.
