Kruta Bakery is a nice establishment that has a delectable selection of pastries. The only true fault is their cake. Growing up in the area, this is the go-to for most birthdays and parties. Sadly, the icing for these cakes has a cloying sweetness.

Absolutely LOVE this place! I live in Edwardsville but I go out of my way to go here frequently. There's a great assortment of all sorts of pastries and desserts and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The cream horns here are the best I've ever had - I highly recommend getting a few while you're there!

Love that place!! Next year marks the 100th year that they have been in business! You don't last a hundred years if you're not good. They have stuff there you can't find anywhere else. And they use NO preservatives. Its ALWAYS fresh!!!! If you've never been there, you don't know what you're missing!

Kruta's is the best around!!! They have been a family owned business for years and years. They have maintained a wonderful quality over all these years. I order all our cup cakes and party cakes from here every time! Quality is awesome and the price is the lowest I have found! Price and quality FIVE STARS Oh and not only that but they are so friendly! They remember us there and ask how things are going. I had them do our baby gender reveal cake and they were just as excited as we were!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE

The donuts are pretty good, but I wouldn't go out of the way if you're looking for a big variety. The ones they have are good, but there's not a huge selection. On the other hand, they are a bakery and have lots of other breads, cakes, and pastries rather than just being a donut shop, and everything I've tried has been excellent. Great locally owned bakery.

I've been going to Kruta's for years - especially for their cakes, which are hands-down the best I've ever tasted. Donuts are awesome too. Heck, I can't recall anything that I've ever sampled there that I haven't liked! Line is usually a mile long on Saturday mornings, but it moves quickly.

Just go there. You will not be sad. It's the happiest place on earth! They're closed Sundays and Mondays so plan accordingly. The mixed nut stollen is a longtime favorite but you'll find your own.

Boo hoo, I was so disappointed. The donuts had a nasty funky smell and taste. Their stuff was amazing back in the 70's. Just flat out nasty now. When I saw the cheesecake I was like, "What is that?" Ask some old timers how amazing their cheesecake was in the day. They don't even have the cherry cheesecake. However, the cream horn was still very good. Should just mass market their cream horns and quit the rest.

Oh my goodness! This is the best bakery I've ever had the pleasure of going too. Absolutely everything is scrumptious and fresh. Get there early to get the biggest selection of bakery items. The carrot cake is to die for and their donuts are so delicious. Great customer service and I've truly never been let down here. Had a jelly doughnut from this location for the first time. Absolutely LOADED with jelly! Places like Dunkin Donuts barely put any jelly inside of their donuts, but this doughnut practically exploded with how much jelly was inside!!! Definitely my new favorite place to get jelly donuts!!!

We're new customers and Ohhhh my goodness... I want it all. Even tho it's very busy most of the time... service is wonderful. I've been in on Saturday when it was crazy busy but because they have a number system it goes very quick and smooth. We usually visit on Thursday and Judy is woohoo pleasant, friendly and helpful. She introduced us to each person working and said anyone could help us with whatever we need. We have selected a huge variety of items and have been pleased with everything. My favorite are the Cream Horns. My hubby loves the Boston Cream Doughnuts.

I'm not sure what kind of damage Larry O (review above) has done to his taste buds, but he missed the mark on this one. Kruta's is one of the best bakeries in the region (if not THE best). The cakes are ridiculously good, the chocolate frosting on the donuts is perfect, and the cherry strudel will be served in heaven. Trust me. Treat yourself some Saturday morning.

I like to use State EBT and Kruta Bakery will accept that. For coffee and their business others. You can pull a ticket and wait as the sweet rolls and fruit pies sell. Good Times. A busy atmosphere and with the friends and family and the sellers you know what you want is when it is your turn to buy.

Stopped based on reviews. Opened for 30 minutes didnt have many donuts available. No cake donuts no fritters. Just regular donuts. Bought a dozen for the family. Got home and was very disappointed,. These were the most mediocre donuts I have ever had, on the verge of being bad. The whole family didnt like them. QT has a better selection and better donuts. Very misleading reviews from shills or people that have never been to another bakery.

So far we have found the German chocolate cake and Angel cream donuts to be the best we have ever tasted, but we also loved the fudge cake, cupcake and the other pastry we tried. Everything was very fresh and moist and not overly sweet. I find their items to be more traditional in general and their prices are reasonable. We have only gone twice so far but plan to visit more often.

Best bakery in the area. The frosting of their birthday cake is to die for, not to mention a whole bunch of other products. Last week, I had a pleasure to bring their fluffy cheesecake to the office and people could not stop talking about it. One guy had three pieces, one after another! The service is as great as their cakes. Always helpful and friendly, even when it's last minute birthday cake order, so it's definitely aren't difficult to choose your favorite there. They are all lovely.

Very, very disappointed. I have done business with Krutas for almost 50 years, but having ordered my Grandaughter a cake for her 25th birthday, it was one of the worst cakes I have ever eaten. The cake was so dry, you had to put ice cream on it to moisten it. I was very upset. Someone told me that Kruta's Bakery was sold when the original owner retired, but the new owners kept the name. What a shame!! I will not purchase another cake from there. Would definately not recommend.
