Saw this bakery when coming out from the nearby plaza, so I decided to check it out. I was intrigued by the selection of pastries. The bakery is big, and the staff courteous. I was so tempted to buy the big cake which caught my attention right away when I walked in; but I ended up buying different flavors of macarons. After trying, I have to say they belong to the bad macarons category--size too big, bumpy shells, & too much sugar--one of the worst I've tasted. Very disappointed!! Now I'm very hesitant to try the cakes, although they looked good.

The best bakery in Concord, but that's not saying much. Costco industrial ingredients prepared on site. No butter in sight or smell. We really do like their Mexican Wedding Cookies, though. The bar is so low for bakeries, here and in most of the US, that the fact that they just get over it didn't impress me.

I ordered a red velvet cake for my birthday and the woman on the phone was very rude and upset whenever I asked about the details on the cake. The cake itself was dry and almost rough, like it was a few days old or something. The frosting was supposed to be cream cheese frosting, but it was more like regular buttercream. I don’t know if that’s just how they make their cream cheese frosting, but it wasn’t good in my opinion. Red velvet cake is my favorite type of cake and i was really disappointed when I got a dry, practically flavorless cake with the wrong type of frosting. My family has ordered cake from here before, but I’ve never liked any of them. The cakes just aren’t good here in my opinion.

Best bakery by far. Not too many older style good bakeries around, too many fancy new doughnut and other shops popping up. This place always has gresh pastries, cakes, pies and custom made options available which is great given some advance notice. Only had one incident of the wrong cake but they quickly fixed the mistake and even gave us a refund to which we used again here for the awesome cheesecake. Nice friendly staff, always clean inside and private parking lot with plenty of parking. Wish the hours when they are open could be a little longer but its ok.

This bakery will not quit because they are currently to legit. I was looking for a new bakery and found this one in Concord. I currently live in Alameda, so we made the trip out there and this bakery did not disappoint. Super friendly staff and very knowledgeable about all things sugar and spice. They had a plethora of options and we tried several of their offerings. The experience overall was great and I would highly recommend to all.

We got our wedding cake here in May of 2018-- it was the most delicious and moist cake with lemon curd filling. They even let us bring in our own live succulents for the cake decor and they tastefully decorated the cake for us! Our guests couldn't get enough! Now any time we have a family get-together, we offer to bring the dessert so we can stop in and pick up something from Alpine! Yesterday we got a raspberry swirl cheesecake and it was a HUGE hit.

I love going to Alpine Bakery. It is an institution for many years. Now they are located at a new place at downtown Concord , I think about a year and a half. There are more tables to sit and enjoy that cappuccino and mango mousse dessert. They have beautiful cakes and delicious pastries for breakfast and for anytime of the day. I suggest that if you have a sweet tooth, come and try them. Maybe you'll bump into me.

Coffee was lukewarm. I asked for a warm up in microwave but she gave me another cup of lukewarm coffee. Cup of 12 ounce coffee was only 2/3 full so it is only 8 ounce really. Pastry was good.

They never made the cake we went in and ordered and paid for it was for my father in laws 84th birthday. It did not bother them at all that this happened......[ We ordered it on Sept. 14th 2017 prepaid for pick up next day around 4:30 pm . Yes refunded my money no offer of another cake and no real explanation. I was raised on Alpine Cakes and was very disappointed. This is not the fault of the owner or management in my eyes all it boils down to is nobody wanted to make it. You don't misplace an order but find it when the customer shows up.]

really disappointing that these guys won't do ANYTHING by email or text. You have to show up in person during their specific hours the cake desk is open. All because they are worried about color correction, even if you tell them color isn't an issue. Couldn't even get a straight answer if they could do the type of job I was looking for and they couldn't respond to that by phone either, the only answer was you'd have to come in and talk to the pastry chef in person. Poor customer service and really inconsiderate about people trying to avoid multiple trips that aren't necessary :( Going elsewhere with my business.

I was looking for a good place where I can have different options and fresh pastries, cupcakes and cookies. I really loved the fact that it had donde made with almond meal which is my preference. I got a cookie, cupcake, blueberry cake, raspberry almond meal cake piece (princess cake) something like that. Everything was very good. I would suggest putting more peanut butter in the cookies but the rest was amazing. Keep up the great job, will keep you in mind when i need cakes.

This is really the best bakery in the eastbay. If you are invited to a wedding, get together, or party and wondering if you should go and the host says the cake is from alpine, go. Just go. I’ve used Apline for my custom wedding cake, custom birthday cakes and anytime I’m feeling something sweet when in Concord (I come from Pittsburg) and have recommended Apline’s business to others which they’ve purchased their event cakes and cupcakes from. I was also planning on ordering my baby shower cake from them come this July. Today, I bought a pre-made Mother’s Day cake and a champagne cupcake, cupcake for myself for the drive home (because I’ve always wanted to try their champagne cake) and when walking out accidentally dropped just the cupcake out in the front parking lot as I wasn’t offered a bag. No big deal right? I went back in to see if I could possibly have it replaced as I told them I dropped it and the girl told me I’d have to pay another $3.00 for a new one. WTF where’s the customer service for a loyal customer? What I recommend now, to all that are reading this review is to try a more local small business who’s getting their feet off the ground and doesn’t necessarily have a store front yet or even Safeway close to home. I won’t be coming back here again.

Hadn't been here in too many years to mention, but since I move back to Concord recently, and for nostalgia, what the heck. The location is different, I think it was a travel agency before, but the wafting smell of bakery was the same and unmistakable. Thank heaven, God or Mother Nature for whoever created that smell. It was late afternoon, ate good all day, I dined on a slice of cake and coffee. I pointed to the whole cake of what I wanted, but got a different looking slice of something similar. What the hell, it's cake and chocolate, how bad could it be... don't complain. And it was fantastic, but couldn't tell you its name, as I didn't order it. But it's near the chocolate mousse roll cake that I still harbor such desires for. Maybe another journey to Alpine Bakery is in my nearest future. Next time, I will skip the coffee, as it just wasn't all that good. But then again, I'm accustomed to Peet's when great coffee is needed.

I have purchased cakes for my daughter’s from here twice. I end up spending about $80 on a 10 inch cake that is decorated. I went in today to buy a cake and as I watched and listened to all three of the women that were working I realized that they really don’t care about customer service. I guess there aren’t a lot of cake places around here. I wasn’t treated very well either and as I waited for the woman to come back to assist us I just decided to get cupcakes from Whole Foods. They’re better and cheaper. One woman offered my 9 year old daughter a cupcake and then asked for me to pay for it. So weird. Screw this place - it’s low class.

Been here many times but first time i ever felt discriminated. There is a blonde lady with short hair, mid 20s working on sunday 6.11.17 around 11.25am. Condescending tone of asking what i wanted, harsh reply & suggesting when ordering coffee how i should order & said i was wrong in my own order. She then moved to the next (white) customer, super chill, relaxed tone etc. Never am i coming back here no matter how good their pastries are!

I recently moved to Concord from San Francisco and stumbled upon Alpine when trying to find the Safeway. It is not even a five minute walk from the Concord BART Station. Each time I visit Alpine I get something new and each first bite is always the same - I close my eyes and the layered tastes takes me on a roller coaster ride soaring, twisting, upside down - always ending with a smile and racing to end of the line for that gotta go again excitement. The only downside to the ride was that there was not a note left on my plate which meant the ride was over. FYI - Now that I can legally get married, I would definitely order my cake gro

Nice location, and there's a table outside I a nice garden with an umbrella. The pastry I had was not fresh. The restroom was not open for public use. There's a car park.
