REVIEWS OF Eielson Commissary IN Alaska

One of the smallest commissaries I've been to. If you need the regular stuff then you'll, be fine, but not much of a selection beyond that.

Brian Deal

Gary Wagoner

Small just the basics. Prices for mil very good for area.

Sue Lefever

Good selection of products but not as good a selectiob as local grocers

Daniel Vanderpool

Joanna Renner

For some reason Asian ladies hate me there, and really making my shopping trip miserable every time I'm at the check out. I never had more then 40 products in for self check out, but they are sure that I have more then allowed. Plus every time I try say hello they give me this very nasty look and talk between each other. Very unpleasant atmosphere at self-checkout(only with the Asian women)

Celeste Rogers

Well stocked, good variety

Great prices. I wish they were also open on Mondays.

Matt Bizzarro

Good ole commissary. Only downside is they seem to have a hard time keeping their shelves stocked.

Melissa Hanks

Watch the dates on items. Purchased deli meats that had been expired for 10days! Husband got sick. Had to bring back steaks 3 times due to the best being rotten once we opened it the same day. Not a very well-stocked or selection of Produce. We now shop in town if we can. Come here as a last resort. However the staff is always very friendly.

Friendly employees, great variety of food and produce. Produce isn't always that fresh, but welcome to Alaska! Some prices are a bit higher than going to Walmart but worth it to not have to go off base.

Love the family feel you get from the employees if you can't find something they are willing to help. Small store with lots to offer.

Kara Collard

Mark Hatley

Not a big commissary and limited quantities

Nicholas Killeen

They have the basics, but not they size to hold enough variety.

David Williams

Very very small. Has a total of 5 lanes and 2 self check outs. When I went in during lunch time they only had 1 Lane and 2 self check outs open. Very small selection of items.

Lewis M Bowers Sr

Nice and clean place. Friendly staff

Cassandra Cheek

It's pretty small but still nice to stop in a grab stuff you need.

Bill Smith

Great place. Good quality.

CM Davies-Hamilton

Jacob Proffer

Great staff, very personable. And as for my 10 years of using base commissarys this has been the best for service. My only complaint is the deli, my hot sandwich was borderline burnt on the outside and cold on the inside.... The worst panini I've had to date.

Daniel Martolano

Outdated building and bad inventory! Go to Ft. Wainwright Commissary.

Daniela Chrzanowski

Paul Croft

Kati Reed

Tiny commissary and super expensive.

Levi Brendle

The Eielson Commissary is a great place to shop for all you're grocery needs. It is considerably cheaper than shopping at the Safeway in Northpole. They always have a good stock of produce and meats. And the shop is relatively clean. They are missing a few of the more specialty ingredients however for the most part they have everything you would need for your day to day grocery needs.

Nikko Colby

Good if you have to go, limited and the most expensive groceries in the Fairbanks area. Better off with Fred Meyer or costco.

Evan Karrs

Melanie McManus

Limited items, limited hours and limited days. Plus runs out of staple items frequently (i.e. chicken) and produce is typically lacking.

Curtis Frost

It has what you need.

Ashton Smith

The deli is good. Grocery shopping is hit and miss. They're usually out of what you need or just don't stock it at all.

aaron trujillo

Always great prices

First time going super nice and great people

donovan fredericksen

Small typical commissary limited selection and terrible produce

A.P.F. Wilson

My first stop for meats and savings.

Jason Brown

Prices are different between army and air force base

Christian Foster

They are alright when it comes to meat and the staff is friendly but the milk and vegetables suck there. I ate blueberries the same day I bought them and found Molded blueberries at the bottom of the container. The milk is always a day or two close to expiration. I buy tomatoes and it's rotts the next day. I’m upping my stars too 4 because they have definitely improved since I’ve moved here. Vegetables are better and the prices are great!

Megan Farrar

Sometimes they have low selection of some items, and some of the staff could use some customer service training.. but other than that, it's affordable and convenient.

Robert Holmes

For a slowly dying airbase in the middle of nowhere. They have amazing produce.and a pretty large selection of many other goods. Definitely helps keep traveling to town to a minimum.

DeCA is gutting its selection. No more organic lemon juice (which is available NOWHERE ELSE) in Alaska.

Stone Verry

Dennis Martin

It's small and selection is limited

Shawn Chura

Small, produce is usually not fresh and the staff is rude. If you aren't in uniform, have a beard and they don't know you, your treated like your trying to steal something. Glad I served 22+ years and get treated this way. Won't step foot in here again unless its a dire situation.

pretty small.... not a big selection. But I guess it's ok for being this far up in Alaska.

I have shopped at this commissary for 15 years. The selection is limited and I blame that on DECA not the staff. Produce is hit or miss, but get what you need for a few days and its alright.I do believe it was open on Mondays considering we are 10 miles from Safeway which is high priced. Cashiers and baggers are great. Deli section always serves with a smile, but selection of me at a is lacking. Sandwiches are great especially the grilled wraps. Don't shop on military paydays if you are like me and hate crowds.
